Choose a shorter bounce time

I put a imovie into garbage band so I could create chapter markers. Went I went to export it to iDVD8 it told me my project exceeded 2 gb and said I need to choose a shorter bounce time. I checked in the help spot for this word but it did not have any info about what this meant. Does anyone know what this means and where I can go to do this function?

I've just found out that you have to go to the Garageband preferences and uncheck the auto normalize option for large files.

  • Maximum file size of 2 GB exceeded please choose a shorter bounce time

I have done a thorough search online (w/google) trying several combinations of words but I seem to be the only person on the planet with this error. I guess I will try to remake the project but I don't think it will fix the problem. I also will update my OS to 10.4.10, anyways here is the the error message.
"Maximum file size of 2 GB exceeded please choose a shorter bounce time"
I just bought and installed iLife 08 and the 8.1 update for Garageband. I have a 3 hr and 50 track on the time line and I have added chapter marks with 16k pics. The original combined track size (wav files) did exceed 2GB but I edited the files in itunes (to mono wav files) and swapped in the new files so that the max file size should only be 1.5GB. I still get the error message above when I try to export the podcast to disk using AAC w/Mono Podcast setting. Your help is appreciated.

I am now the third person in the world to get this error message, except my GB project is a mere 1 hour and 45 minutes long. I've outputted longer projects before and never got this error before. It's a new one to me, and frustrating. How exactly am I supposed to choose a "shorter bounce time" if there is no explanation anywhere in Appleworld of what a bounce time is or how to set it shorter?
Again, I'm not doing anything different with this project than others that shared successfully, and the dialog box estimates my outputted file size to be approx. 100 MB.
Can anybody help me get through this error blockage? Please?

  • Exporting to iDVD - Max file size - Shorter bounce time

I put in markers on an iMovie project that I did in GarageBand 08. After I put the chapter markers in, I went to export to iDVD but keep getting error message "Maximum file size of 2 GB exceeded. Please choose a shorter bounce time. However, the GarageBand version of the project is only 1.18 GB. I tried to compact it down but it gives the same error message.
I tried finding out what is meant by bounce time and how to shorten it but the online manuals don't mention it at all. I've used the chapter markers before in GarageBand and I've never had this error message before.

Don't know if you ever found a solution to this… I just ran across the same identical problem. In searching the web I found this discussion which seems to be working for me. It involves disabling an advanced preference in iDvd.

  • Short dump "Time limit exceeded" when searching for Business Transactions

    Hello Experts,
We migrated from SAP CRM 5.2 to SAP CRM 7.0. After migration, our business transaction search (quotation, sales order, service order, contract etc) ends with the short dump "Time limit exceeded" in class CL_CRM_REPORT_ACC_DYNAMIC, method DATABASE_ACCESS. The select query is triggered from line 5 of this method.
    Number of Records:
    CRMD_ORDERADM_H: 5,115,675
    CRMD_ORDER_INDEX: 74,615,914
We have done these so far, but the performance is still either poor or times out.
    1. DB team checked the ORACLE parameters and confirmed they are fine. They also checked the health of indices in table CRMD_ORDER_INDEX and indices are healthy
    2. Created additional indices on CRMD_ORDERADM_H and CRMD_ORDER_INDEX. After the creation of indices, some of the searches(without any criteria) work. But it takes more than a minute to fetch 1 or 2 records
    3. An ST05 trace confirmed that the selection on CRMD_ORDER_INDEX takes the most time. It takes about 103 seconds to fetch 2 records (max hits + 1)
    4. If we specify search parameters, say for example a date or status, then again we get a short dump with the message "Time limit exceeded".
    5. Observed that only if a matching index is available for the WHERE clause, the results are returned (albeit slowly). In the absence of an index, we get the dump.
    6. Searched for notes and there are no notes that could help us.
Any idea what is causing this issue and what we can do to resolve this?
    Regards,
    Bala

    Hi Michael,
Thanks. Yes we considered the note 1527039. None of the three scenarios mentioned in the note helped us. But we ran CRM_INDEX_REBUILD to check if the table CRMD_ORDER_INDEX had a problem. That did not help us either.
The business users told us that they mostly search using the date fields or Object ID. We did not have any problem with search by Object ID. So we created additional indices to support search using the date fields.

    Bala

  • MacBook Pro 13" Retina (late 2013) very short standby time

I have a new (about 1 month old) MacBook Pro Retina 13" (late 2013). Fastest processor, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM running OSX Mavericks 10.9.1. The battery life while powered on is normal. However, in standby (when I close the lid or put it on standby manually) the battery life is nowhere near the 30 Days Apple advertises. It's more like 5-8 hours. When in standby! My old 2009 MacBook Pro 15" has a longer standby time with a used battery!
I already turned off PowerNap (where the MacBook updates emails and stuff while in standby) with no differences. Does anybody else experience this short standby time behaviour with their macbooks? Any ideas on how to solve this?
    Thanks!

  • HT201250 I've been working on a newsletter and have the final version. But I wanted to check something in a version I did last week. If I choose the day in Time Machine, is there any way I can view that document without "restoring" it to replace the final

I've been working on a newsletter and have the final version. But I wanted to check something in a verssion I did last week. If I choose the day in Time Machine, is there any way I can view that document without "restoring" it to replace the final version?

You can drag and drop a file from TM to the desktop.
Let's say your newsletter is on the desktop. First thing to do is to add something to the file name, say Newsletter_1.
Next open TM as if it is just another external drive by double clicking the icon. (This is not the same as "Enter Time Machine" which you do when you want to restore.) The file hierachy in TM follows the same logic as on your hard drive. Navigate to the date you want, find the file you want, and drag and drop it where you want it to be. Because you changed the name of the most recent version you can both files in the same space.
    I do this often.
But remember if you make a back up now you will end up with both versions in TM.

  • Have to manually choose wireless network every time I turn on my Macbook

I am using a Macbook Pro for a few days now and it seems that every time I turn it on, I must manually select my wireless network before it will connect. How can I get the computer to do that automatically? I have tried what seem to be all the network settings and nothing works.

Actually, I have. What I didn't realize when I started this thread is that this situation has been discussed elsewhere and it appears to be a bug that Apple will need to address.
It makes no difference how the settings are set, when the Macbook is restarted it does not automatically select a wireless network. It will start the airport card ok, and list all the networks ok, and as long as my encryption key is in keychain, all I have to do is press the airport icon and then the network which I use and it will stay on even if I put the computer to sleep, but it will NOT automatically choose this network if I turn the computer off and back on again.
Guess I just need to wait for a firmware upgrade like everyone else.

  • Why do I have to "choose" the network every time?

My old Linksys Router died recently so I replaced it with a Time Capsule, which has been largely fine.
The only real issue that I have is that I cant find a way to keep my Mac and PC logged in to the network. Every time I open my PowwerBook G4 I have to go to Airport and choose my network. I tried changing the network settings to WPA2 rather than WPA2/WPA2 Professional - no change, still the same result.
On my old Linksys I was able to have no security - by virtue of using Mac address lists and no visible network name. Very effective.
Any thoughts? Can I still use Mac addresses?

    Hi Duane,
Many thanks for the suggestion - but yes, I have already done this. Hence my surprise at needing to log in each time. Interestingly, the same also appears to apply to my wife's PC laptop - ie failure to remain logged in to the network.
    Any other thoughts / suggestions?
    Cheers,
    Hugh

Using Setup/Connection/Admin Setup/SIP Setup (I am not sure about names as I am using Polish version) I may configure SIP profile and even register it ... but that is all. No way to make Internet calls even manual is saying about way of making them

  • Ipod mini short playback time

I just bought an ipod mini about a month ago, and haven't put much use to it yet, but i have used it. i've noticed that it has a short battery life after i charge it. the last time i charged it, the battery indicator immediately went down just a little bit after i unplugged it from charging. so, i plugged it back in to charge back up the rest of the way. Then, i didn't use it for probably 2 days, and when i turned it on, the battery indicator was half empty. then a week went by without using it and the next time i turned it on and the battery indicator was on its last bar. whats up with that?

I have a first generation ipod mini and I was having the same issue. the battery would say that the charge was completed, but then I would try and play it and it would die really fast. it wasn't holding a charge that well. I called apple and I am still covered under warranty and thus, they sent me a brand new ipod in a about a week. not only is the battery problem solved, but its brand new and still in the plastic.

  • G5 60g must reset after short off time, intermitantly

Hi I have a 2 month old g5 60gb video ipod at level 1.1. What happens is this, I use the ipod to listen to music, a podcast or an audible book makes no difference. I turn off for a short time maybe an hour or two. When I turn back on everything looks and acts normal except when I try to play something I get one of 2 senarios. 1 is the play > icon comes on and the time does not increment and no sound. The other is the play > icon comes on and the time does increment and no sound.
I then have to reset (hold on then off menu and select together) then all returns to normal. I have updated to 1.1 and I have done a restore. no change.
This is my third pod so I feel I'm using it correctly. when the above first happened I thought I maybe had a phone jack issue, but I can do the reset without ever touching or reseating the phone jack and it comes right back after the reset.
Any ideas? I was really hoping going to 1.1 would fix this as its REAL annoying.
    Thanks

Sounds like you need the repair shop to me. Continuously needing to do a reset is just not correct.
Are you sure the pod was back to 1.0 by looking on the pod under About>? This just started before any update to 1.0 or after?

  • Can I choose which backup for Time Machine to use if I have backups from two macs on one drive?

I have Time Machine backup on an external drive. I want to mirgrate all my files onto the new Mac Pro but migration is getting hung up and cant find the drive. Can I set up Time Machine for the new mac on this same drive and then select the old macs backup from within Time Machine?

Most likely, some folders were excluded from your backups as the result of a failed or aborted software installation.
Starting from a clean installation of OS X, set up a new administrator account and log in. Enter Time Machine and press the key combination shift-command-C. The front window will show all mounted volumes. All snapshots should now be accessible.* Select the one you want and navigate to your home folder (in the Users folder at the top level of the old startup volume.)
You should now be able to restore your user data. I suggest you do this in two stages. Quit all applications except the Finder before you begin.
Restore all the visible items at the top level of your home folder.
Hold down the option key and select Go ▹ Library from the Finder menu bar. Enter Time Machine and restore all items in the Library folder. Log out and log back in as soon as the restore is complete.
Any other invisible folders or files at the top level of your home folder that you want to preserve will have to be restored separately. For most users, that isn't necessary.
You'll have to reinstall all third-party applications from scratch, or restore them from another kind of backup, if you have one.
You'll have another problem if this is a new computer, or if you erased the startup volume: The next time you back up, Time Machine won't recognize any files as being the same as they were before, and will make a full copy of all files. There might not be enough space on one or more of your backup volumes for that. There are different ways of dealing with that situation, depending on your needs. The easiest way is to set your backup drives aside, if possible, until you're sure you'll no longer need the data on them, then erase them and start over. Meanwhile start a new backup on one or more empty storage devices. If that solution isn't workable for you, ask for instructions.
*If you don't see any snapshots in Time Machine, exit the time-travel view and then hold down the option key while selecting
    Browse Other Backup Disks...
from the Time Machine menu, which has an icon that looks like a clock running backwards. Select the backups of your computer by its previous name. If you don't have the Time Machine menu, open the Time Machine preference pane in System Preferences and check the box marked
Show Time Machine in menu bar
