Choose different audio tracks in PE10 full version possible?!

Oky, I have tested this with Adobe PE10, but WHERE do I choose which audio track I want to import/use in the timeline?! Where can I see if the clip has more than 1 stream in Adobe Premiere Elements 10? I have tried looking in settings etc., but no luck. I KNOW that my video got 4 different audio tracks in it, but when I add the media to Adobe PE10 (it's a .m2ts-format file), only 1 stream (the DEFAULT audio stream, which is the WRONG stream) is what I get. Where are the other 3 audio streams, and how can I use them? It's nothing special about the clip itself. I can play the audio and video in the timeline, it just got the wrong audio stream...
I am asking because I see many articles/posts that mention you can do this in PE10, but I don't understand where... So far I have yet to find ANY video editing software that supports this.
And converting the audio FROM the .m2ts-file using a 3rd-party program is out of the question as well. If it does not work with PE10, then I have to find another solution, I suppose.

You do not have the option of choosing between the main track and the dub track from a video clip in Premiere Elements, Goodie. You just get the main track. So if that's what you're talking about, you'll need to look elsewhere. Though I'm not sure where because I don't know ANY video software that does this. What makes you think it's even available?
The exception is when you're shooting in 5.1 audio in AVCHD. If you've set your project up for 5.1 audio, you can control the level of each of the five tracks independently.

  • Different Audio Track for Tittle

Did some googling and searching on here and can't figure this out. I have my movie done and want to add a tittle page or series of tittle pages with a different audio track than the one on my movie, how would I go about doing this?
    Thanks
    Alex G.

    Hi,
You can add audio directly to each clip or of course you can add audio to the whole project. You can control where the background music starts and stops too. The link below is very informative and shows you just how to do this.
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/imovie_09stone.html#audio%20adjustments
Personally, I have found that if I export my finished movie to the media browser and select the 'mobile' size for speed, as you will have to republish after you add the new soundtrack anyway! I then open Garageband and select movie track. I then select the movie from the media browser within Garageband and drag it into the track. I am now able to have full audio editing control, I can use several different pieces of music, placing them where I want and at what volume I choose. When I have finished my audio track, I delete the movie track and the movie audio track and save my file. This leaves my new music track. I then export this track to iTunes. Next, I open iMovie and I locate my soundtrack and drag it into the movie as a background track. I have found this to be the method that gives me full control.
    Good luck!

  • How do you choose different audio streams?

If you have an "audio options" menu, and you have the choice between Ac3 and DTS, how would you link the different audio tracks to the buttons in the sub menu. also, how do you link the tracks to the audio button on you dvd players controller?
    thanks in advance

    How is the menu done?
In the DVDSP4 Apple training book they show how to create a script to make sure the Audio Options menu shows the currently selected version. I do not find a tutorial on how to create an Audio Options or Languages with audio choices menu.
    Thanks,

  • Is it possible to add two different audio tracks to a clip which can be selected separately in the final clip?

I'm trying to edit a short clip with two different audio tracks (audio in two different languages). The tracks are not supposed to overlap but rather should be able to be selected individually in the final clip. Do I need special software or is iMovie actually able to accomplish that?

I seriously doubt that this is possible. I think when you get this kind of option on a DVD, the audio and video streams are encoded separately and you run the language of your choice by choosing it from a menu.

  • Can one video track play with 9 different audio tracks?

If we create a dvd with a 20 mins voiceover video in 6 chapters, but there were 9 language versions inc English, could we use the same video track, playing with a different audio track for each language, to save space?

Almost. You have have 8 audio streams (AS) so you'd need to have 2 tracks and split the audio across them. So you could have Track 1 8x AS and Track 2 1x AS. T1 5x AS & T2 4x AS. You get the idea...
You dont need 1 Track per Track but you will need at least two. Keep an eye on your total bandwith for each track also. Remember to budget for the audio before you encode,

  • Multiple use of the same video time line for different audio tracks

    I have a 90 minute video timeline
I will be putting different audio tracks in multiple languages.
But as i was just editing i wondered if i could use only a segment (30 minutes ) of the timeline
along with a 30 minute audio.
    Example:
So the first thing on the menu will be the whole 90 minute video
with a 90 minute music track
Second thing might be the 90 minute video with a 90 minute commentary
Third thing might be the first 30 minutes of video with a different commentary
Forth thing on the menu might be the first 30 minutes of video and 30 minutes of
    a different language
    Etc.
I realize i will need to make space (mb)  for all the audio.....but if i could use the same video or pieces of it
    that would be fantastic.
If i can do this i am presuming i should use playlists and chapter playlists to get it done?
I have never done this before and would love some feedback on an over view or tips
that might save me some guess work
    Thanks for any help :-)

    Hey Stan!
Thanks for your help...i think i am really getting this. And have learned a lot.
I had to go back to my computer programming and flowcharting skills to figure out the flow :-)
And i still have 153mb to spare when i build it.
I ended up lining up all the different videos and audios exactly for each time line except for 1 timeline.
Question: I know if the audio is shorter it will be ok.... but if the audio is longer than the video on a timeline ( and its the audio i assigned it by specify link )
Will the DVD keep playing until the audio is done or end when the video is done playing?
2nd Question: I am previewing the playlists with the "Preview from Here" feature
I specify the link and chapter within that timeline ( it is the only timeline with more than one chaper....the one with the longer audio than video from the question above )
For most of the audios i only need video chapter 1.....the preview here plays it ok but if i hit the skip to next (in the preview button on theright of the play button)...it goes to the next chapter #2... instead of the next timeline chapter 1 like it is programed to do from the playlist.
I am wondering if this is just fluke in the preview feature...or will it do that on the actual DVD as well?
Lastly because i am using different timelines. I am wondering if there are delays between playlists? for example...i have a long audio that continues between three timelines...i have spliced it pretty fine so it picks up perfectly on the next timeline...but i am wondering if the DVD when playing in realtime will have a little black space inbetween timelines.
Thanks again for your help and time :-)

    Hiya Mark.
DVD-Video is video dominant, with the audio always following the visuals so if the audio ends berfore the video it will not (okay, should not) be a problem.
However, the other way around could go either way - if the actual video timeline has ended the audio may well truncate so I would personally add videoblack at the very least.
I am also not at all sure how you are going to work a single contiguous audio file across 3 separate playlists. This sounds flawed in concept to me (have I misunderstood your meaning?). In DVD-Video the format is graphically/visually dominant - the audio must always be tied to a visual asset be it a menu or a timeline - so there is no way to have one piece of audio playing across 3 timelines and having it play back glitch free whilst the timeline changes. You will not get a black space - it will simply stop. So unless I have misunderstood you in some way.........
As Stan says, preview is flaky - the only way to know for sure is to multiplex & burn.

  • Audio tracks playing different audio tracks - routing issue?

I'm having trouble with some routing issues I believe. Here's the deal:
Some audio tracks are playing different audio tracks, when that region is not even in it. For instance:
Track #2 is Soloed. Output is Output 1-2. I hear the audio file that is in Track #1, which is NOT Soloed and I shouldn't even hear. I don't hear anything from Track #2. The only way I can hear Track #2 is by playing it from the audio bin, which obviously isn't going to work out right.
If I drag the audio region of Track #2 to a brand new audio track, I still don't hear anything. Is it possible this audio file(s) got corrupted somehow?
    Please help!

Check the parameters, in the left side of the arrange page window.
To me, it sounds as if you have a bunch of arrange tracks, which are all playing back through audio track #1.

  • Different Audio Tracks when you import DVD VOB Files

I imported some vob files from a dvd and it only gives me the first audio track in premiere but i need the 2nd audio track. How do i tell premiere i only want the 2nd track?

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    Colin Brougham wrote:
... would like to know for the future how to resolve this issue.
If there is no way to get the 2nd audio track then i would consider that to be a bug that hopefully Adobe can fix in next patch.
Ideally when you import a vob fileset premiere should automatically drop all the audio tracks into the timeline, not just the first one.
Don't use a DVD, plain and simple. The fact that we can edit this stuff at all is just a handy shortcut that works most of the time. I suspect that, given the nature of the material and the far greater precedence for native editing of professional camera sources, this is about as good as its going to get. You can certainly report it as a bug (which its not) or request it as a feature, but I sincerely doubt that this would be given a great deal of priority.
I'm not saying this just to be a jerky naysayer: the fact is that there is limited time and resources that go into development of each point release and each full version, and the things that benefit the most people have the greater likelihood of being fixed or included. I'd be surprised if even 1% of Premiere users needed this functionality. Believe me--I've wanted dozens of things that I know won't ever make it into the program, simply because they won't benefit many people. But make a feature request and see what happens...
wow??  what a terrible, mean, and unnecessary negative response?  "jerky naysayer" ??  never heard that term, but it sounds accurate.
Thats like walking up to someone and saying "i dont mean to be cruel, but your fat and ugly"
anyways, not sure what your point is, other than you have a crystal ball that tells you less than 1% of the premiere users in the world ever need to grab a b-roll from a dvd and i think i could find plenty of people who would disagree with you. I have been doing digital video editing for 20 years and been using premiere for about 15 years now i think since it first came out. I work at a tv station with lots of other video editors and we have all needed to pull a clips off dvd's many times in our lives. Im sorry that i dont have an XDCAM HD video tape of the first moon launch to capture, so for now i have to grab a clip from a dvd.
Thanks for your attempted "help" but i'd rather you not hiijack my thread by negating my questions and requests. My company has purchased probably over a million dollars in adobe software licenses over the years and there is nothing wrong with my opinions and requests.
    thanks

  • QuickTime doesn't allow to choose each audio track of one language

    1) Before you tell me that I'm asking question in wrong community section, I can't enter to QuickTime section with new Safari 8.0 and it says that I have to download Safari.
    2) I have some videos in .mp4 format and it contains few English audio tracks, few other language audio tracks and when I chose one of multiple languages Quicktime always chose the very same track from this language. And QuickTime marks all audio tracks of this language with checkmarks. So there is no effect when you try to switch to another language
    3) By the way. iTunes playback has no error with this, but it's still in old Mavericks style. Thank you.

Many of my QuickTime files use Flash tracks for things like controllers and the only way they can be properly viewed is if "Enable Flash" is checked.
It's a completely different animal inside the MIME Settings options.
If you allow Flash in the Miscellaneous setting then the QuickTime plug-in is going to try and open the content and the Flash plug-in isn't used. Since QuickTime can only open very old Flash media the browser gives a ? over the file.
Turning it off allows the Flash plug-in be used.

  • Different audio track - how

Hi, I have been given a video to show children in class. The video has a spanish audio track, but I have also been given a separate mp3 (and vcf file??) with an english audio track. I thought quicktime pro would be able to handle this, but if I open the video, and then drag the mp3 file on top of the video window (worth a try!!), it shifts the video and places the mp3 file before the film. Any ideas how I can remove the spanish audio, get the video to play with the english audio, and then save it with english audio. Thanks. The file is an .avi

    No.

  • Same video footage encoded with different audio tracks (localization)?

Hi All, thanks for your time first of all.
Let me explain the issue I have; there are 5 video files and  10 audio files for each of them. That means I need to encode in total 50 videos. I can do this by hand, the video and audio files are the same length, so it would just means swapping one out for the other and encoding again...
But I was wondering if it was possible to automate this process? Let's say take the video footage and render is out with Audio1, then render it out with Audio2 and so forth.  Is this something that is possible with AME or in Premiere or any other Adobe package?
I hope I explained this well enough, if not, please let me know!
    Thanks.
    -Woody

You can add the video footage to a sequence, then add the first audio clip.  Set up your export and hit the Queue button.  That will send the sequence as it exists then to the Adobe Media Encoder.
Go back to that sequence, remove the first audio file and add in the second.  Do another export.  Your settings should be the same so you can just hit the Queue button.  This ads another item to the list in AME, but this one is a snapshot of the sequence with the second audio.
Repeat as necessary, all using the same sequence.  (Trust me, it'll work.)
Go into Adobe Media Encoder and start the encoding.

  • Can't switch audio tracks after updating to Yosemite

Previously, I was able to choose different audio tracks in the QuickTime Player (for instance, director commentary or stereo vs. surround sound) in Mavericks, but now after updating to Yosemite, whenever I try to change the language/track by using the on-screen shortcut or by going to View -> Languages, it shows "English" listed twice with check marks next to each.
There is no way to select one of the other because it seems both are checked, though, obviously, it only uses the first in the list.
I have used QuickTime Player to switch audio tracks on all my files before updating to Yosemite, now it doesn't work for any. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Seems like a bug. Are they aware of the issue?
