Choose Primary monitor in 2 Monitor setup

Not a biggy but a personal preference. I've been working with the Grid open on the secondary monitor, and Develop on the primary monitor.
I'd actually prefer to have the Grid on my left, and Develop on my right.
This would be doable if there were an option to switch the primary and secondary lightroom screens between the two monitors.

Just an opinion...
It would be easier for the user if we could "swap" the screens in dual monitor mode, as we can "swap" images while in compare mode (1 click).
Compared to:
1. Minimizing each screen
2. Dragging each screen to the other monitor, and then
3. Maximizing each screen...
every time we want to change the information being viewed in dual monitor mode (which, for some, may be quite often).
While this may seem like a small issue, sometimes it's the small issues that can make a difference :-)

Monitor stopped due to setup error or custom action

Hi folks,
i have installed the sun cluster and created a resource group for my oracle database. I have created resourece's for database server and or listener.
My question is when I am issuing the scstat command on my oracle server resource i get the following mesg.
"Monitor stopped due to setup error or custom action"
What does it means, does anybody give me some hint about it.

and then i notice that i am using "sqlplus '/ as sysdba'" as Connect_strings, that is why i can start/stop the database but not able to monitor the database, for that i need to create an oracle account as it mentioned in "sun cluster data service for HA-Oracle" like

grant connect, resource to user identified by passwd;
alter user user default tablespace system quota 1m on
system;
grant select on v_$sysstat to user;
grant create session to user;
grant create table to user;

Dual Monitor versus External Monitor

Hi, I have a question that leads to another and I should have learned this along time ago, but the term Dual Monitor and External Monitor (such as editing in FCP and viewing work on a Third monitor, for example) are two different concepts, correct?
Having gotten use to working on my 23" Apple display, I no longer use a dual monitor setup, but I would like to view product through an external monitor. I just got an HDTV with HDMI connections. With a DVI to HDMI adaptor, theoretically I should be able to hook up my G5 to the the HD monitor via a HDMI cable on the second port behind my G5. Can I use the second port for external monitoring?

So you want to be able to direct FCP output to a second HDTV monitor full screen? I don't know the answer to that question but you might consider posting it to the FCP section of the Apple Forums where I am sure you will get a quick and concise answer.

Hi, yes preferences sees there is a second display it recognises what make of monitor it is etc but I just get a blank blue screen on the monitor when I change it to the hdmi setting! I have tried with mirroring on and off, rearranging the displays in the preference window and lots of different resolution settings but with no difference.
An old MacBook connects fine so the monitor and hdmi port must be okay. I'm sure we have used the cable before but it could have been with the previous MacBook Air. The current one I'm using is a mid 2011 version running lion and is (according to software update) all up to date.
Any thoughts or help would be appreciated!

If it won't turn on then the monitor is dead (power supply?, video circuits?). Not worth repairing.
If you have a new iMac then it has thunderbolt. So exactly what is that monitor you are trying to connect? For TB you can connect a mini-displayport monitor. Probably (not 100% sure with TB) can use dvi or vga too if you have the appropriate adapter.

Source monitor and program monitor boxes will not display video in full only half

I have adobe premiere pro cs6 and source monitor and program monitor boxes will not display video in full only half. So the top half of both monitors are black and the bottom half is where the video displays. But you can see that the video is missing the top part. Like people's heads are cut off and can only see body. How can i fix this so premiere pro cs6 will use the full monitors boxes to display my video?

Source monitor smooth program monitor jerky

Hi, just checking to see if someone will have an idea of why my video has a playback problem. It plays very smoothly in the source monitor but in the program monitor it is not very smooth at all. Even when I go to highest quality playback. It actually seems to run smoother on that Automatic quality. If I attempt to the shuttle button, it will advance the verticle time indicator, but the image in the window freezes.
I'm using Premiere Pro CS4. I have 2 1tb hard drives, 2.1g processor, and 4gb of RAM. It has worked perfectly in the past. I haven't been editing video for about 2 months, and when I started editing again today, these things were noticed.

Yes there was a red line above the clips in the timeline. I hit the enter key to begin rendering and when it finished, the video played smoothly in the program monitor and source monitor using all three available video qualities in each.
The AV files were raw digital video downloaded to my computer hard drive from a 16gb class 4 memory card. It was shot using a Canon VIXIA HF200 using FXP mode. It was brought into Premiere as a DV- NTSC standard 48KHz preset.

Calibrating my monitor with other monitors

I have calibrated my monitor so that output to my personal printer is spot-on. But when I give a CD of digital images that look good on my monitor to someone else, they look washed-out on his/her monitor. Is there a way to standardize monitors, LCD or CRT or TV, Mac and PC?
Also, is there a way of sending a file of my monitor's calibration so that an end user can "plug it in" to their monitor settings so his/her photos can look similar to how I saw them?

Each monitor, even lcd monitors are slightly different. So even if you did send a profile,they would still not exactly match. The easiest way is to buy a monitor calibrator and each of you calibrate your monitors with it. That would be the closest match possible.

hi Madhan,
Adapter engine is red only if any of the configured CC is in error, This will not cause any problem as long as you are able to run any scenario. If any of the scenario is working then its fine.
for checking adapter engine check the same page of component monitoring in bottom
Is the Adapter Engine running? click on details to see the errors if any.

IIS FTP Live monitor with Resource Monitor or Performance Monitor

Hi
I am looking for a way to use "Performance/ Monitor" or "Resource Monitor" to monitor live connections and sent/received kb, and so far i only get data when starting the collector for then to view the report.
It is not the way i want it, i would like to view live connection and speed, byte and well the relevant data for an FTP site?
any input on this?

GB chooses to open on secondary monitor, not the primary monitor? It was working fine, then started this.

New Mac Mini running new Garageband. 2 monitors. Working fine, however, all of a sudden GB started to choose to open and not be able to move from secondary monitor. What may have changed and how can I rectify this. I would like GB to open on the primary. All of applications open on primary monitor.

There is some confusing information in your post. You say iMac g5 & 10.6.6. The iMac g5 cannot run 10.6.6. 10.6.6 requires an intel machine.
I'll assume iMac g5.
There have been many reports of capacitor problems with these machines. There are capacitor replacement kits if you want to experiment with a soldering iron.
You could try a new battery.
Since you are having succes running the machine, I'd say it is a hardware problem. I've read a little on the capacitor problem. Seems to fit what I have heard.
