Choose which account to add contact

I have an iPhone5 with ios 8.1.2.  I have 2 gmail accounts on my phone, a personal account, and a joint gmail account with my husband.  The "default" account for notes and contacts is the joint account, so both hubby and I can see a contact change or share note information.  However, sometimes, I want to add a note or contact (from a text message) to my personal account instead of the joint account.
Is there an easy way to do this?

Perhaps I wasn't clear.  Here is an example.
I got a text message from someone that is not in my contacts, so the message says it is from "888-555-1212"  (number used for illustration purposes)
After determining who the sender is, I want to make a new contact for them, so that the next text message comes in from "Apple" (name used for illustration purposes)
On the Text message, I click on Details
On the Details screen, I click on the
On the Info screen, I click on Create New Contact
On the New Contact screen, I enter Apple under the company name and click Done.
However, this creates the contact in my default address book (my joint account).  What do I do different to create the contact in my personal account (which is NOT the default address book)?
