Choosing Album Art from the Internet

Whenever I try to use images from online to use as album art or as wallpapers on my Mac, they come out blurry/pixelated. Is there a special format that I should be using to make my pictures look sharp? I have the MacBook Pro 13". If anybody could help me out, I'd be really grateful!

  • How do I get rid of obscene album art from the top songs list on Apple TV

Under the Music app on Apple TV there appears a selection of "top songs". Frequently the album art for these "top songs" is obscene, or an abomination according to God. Is it possible to remove this "top songs" reference list from my Apple TV or at least hide it? Is there a rating setting for music such as the one that is provided for movies?

    Unfortunately not.
Even though you can set up parental controls for the store to prevent preview/purchase of more adult content unfortunately the album/movie art will still show when browsing the store or your iTunes library via Computers.
I was a little annoyed with the Vevo apop the other day as a track with an expletive ridden title showed the text without ****s despite the option for showing more adult content being off.

  • How can I remove Album Art from the top of the screen (where it shows the song now playing) in iTunes 11?

Would like to remove the album art on itunes 11 at the top of the screen

Not a great solution, but you can completely remove the album art if you reduce the width of your itunes window.... as you reduce the window you get to a point where the artwork disappears.

  • Missing album art from the lockscreen?

For some odd reason, after I updated my iTunes software and my iPhone to iOS 5.1.1, the music synced to my iPhone will not display album artwork on the lockscreen. Ive tried restarting and even resyncing it multiple times, and the ID3 tags are linked to artwork and everything with my music is fine. In fact, it works on my iPod Touch 2G running iOS 4.2.1. But not my iPhone, and it bugs me not being able to see the artwork like i have for the past 2 years. Also, I am running iTunes on Windows 7, if that helps. Any comments and possible solutions would be appreciated, thank you.

  • ITunes 9.0.2 rejects album art from Safari drag source

When editing audio tracks in iTunes 9.0.2 (25), I find that I can no longer directly drag and drop album art from remote Internet-based source in Safari into the album art space when I get info on tracks. The drag and drop operation signals that it receptive to the drop action by displaying a target rectangle around the album art space, but the album art refuses to copy to the files. The workaround is to drag the image file from Safari to the Finder desktop, then drag it from the desktop to the album art spot in iTunes.
Can anyone else confirm this bug?

This is the post I did a few days back:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2215713&tstart=0
Roy B suggested you can drag the artwork from Safari directly to the lower left corner of the main iTunes window. There are two inconvenience problems:
    (1) You have to be playing the song in order to drag the artwork.
    (2) Because it si located in the lower left, I always have to move iTunes window over in order to drag the artwork from Safari.

  • How to set the Default Album Art in the Artist Grid?

This option was lost when upgrading to iTunes 11, how do I do it? A lot of my artists have blank Grid art (even though every album I own has artwork).

I also had missing album art for artists even though I had artwork for all the albums by those artists. I was able to get album art in place of the blank icons. I simply deleted all the music by those artist and re-loaded the music and I successfully acquired album art in place of the blank icons. Unfortunately, you do not have a choice of the album art as you did with iTunes 10, as iTunes 11 chooses the album art  from the respected artist as a default.  I hope this helps as this is the only solution I could find.

  • Removing album art from X-fi2

    Hi,
Anyone know how to remove album art from the X-fi2? I've got a lot of wrongly-associated art and I'd like to delete it: there isn't any art for the tracks I want to change.
I've tried Centrale, but the art does not show up in either album or artists listings--just the generic album icon. Nor can I get it under the tag editing properties: just the generic icon again. The "change" option is available in both cases, but "remove" is greyed out.
I can see the art using WMP, but that doesn't seem to have an option for removing it.
    Thanks.

!Album art can be either embedded on audio files or stored on a jpeg file on the same directory where music files reside. Never used Creative Centrale, but it is logical to me thinking that a greyed out "remove button" means that the art is not embedded as it cannot be removed from the audio files. I would suggest looking for a *.jpg file that contains the album art and remove or rename it.

  • Album art from cds

If u buy a song off itunes it shows the album art but if u put a cd on itunes is there neway to get the album art from the cd?

If u buy a song off itunes it shows the album art but if u put a cd on itunes is there neway to get the album art from the cd?
The other posters gave good information, but didn't answer your basic question: No, you can't get the album art from the CD because it isn't there. A CD usually only contains the .cda files. Some CDs also have computer programs on them, but this is rare.

  • Determining what metadata will get specific album art from iTunes Store

How can I determine what metadata will get specific album art from the iTunes Store?
e.g., I have some tracks with correct metadata for the album "International Herb" by the band "Culture".  This album is listed under the same artist & title in the iTunes Store, but getting the album art for these tracks results in an Artwork for "Culture - International Herb" could not be found warning message.
Alternatively, is there some function where I can apply the album art for the album that I am currently viewing in the iTunes Store to tracks selected in iTunes?  (if this feature doesn't exist, it would be great if Apple added it)
    Thanks.

I always thought it was just Artist + Album, but if the tracks are out of order or the durations are too different, it is possible that it is seeing it as a different version = no match.
It will be faster to find the image from another source (thanks web search) and just drag or paste it into the Album Info panel.

  • Getting album art from iTunes Store...

I have an extensive music library on an external HD, but most songs are/were in 'wma' format. On loading iTunes, it spent 36 hours converting these to AAC (m4a) format, but it didn't bring the album art over. Now I have a perfect music collection, doubled in size, which I can view in Windows Media Player (with all the album art) or in iTunes (without any album art).
Unfortunately, we who live in South Africa are not allowed to download album art from the iTunes Store, so I cannot restore the artwork...and every time I try to access the Store from inside iTunes, it bombs out - but I can access the iTunes site on any normal web browser (usually Mozilla).
    So what now???

Sorry, but as you've discovered, you cannot get album art from the iTunes Store without an account, and being a South African resident, there's no way for you to open an account. There are, however, many other ways of getting album art. Just search the web for something like "iTunes album art" and you should find a number of utilities, suggestions for sources and instructions on how to proceed.
    Regards.

  • How can I show album art in the mini player when playing songs from a plugged in iPhone?

How can I show album art in the mini player when playing songs from a plugged in iPhone?
When I play from my phone and switch to the mini player it's always showing the music notes in the thumbnaill. It'd be nice if it could get album art off of the phone.
    I'm on iTunes version 11.0.4.4

    He @mracole,
it is very nice that you post a solution to complete the library with artwork for album's that do not have an artwork. Your solution perfectly addresses the problem for assigning artwork, BUT this thread is about CHANGING artwork for albums already uploaded into iTunes Match. Just try to replace for example a blue artwork cover for an album with a red one. If you made it in a simple way (without deleting the album from iTunes Match and local changes on the files with an external ID3-Application or 2 or more iTunes libraries on different Mac's) this is the right place to give a solution. I really tried for hours to change the artwork to make them visible in landscape cover flow mode on my iPhone5. In rare cases I made it, but then the covers sometimes where restored to the old onces - exacly how it is mentioned by Starhawk
As long as there is no simple way to change the cover of an iTunes Match stored album (you can change title, artist and so on without hitting "update iTunes Match" over all distributed Library on different devices - this date will be synchronized almost instantly) I considered the behaviour from iTunes as BUGGY! For me the local artwork cache (and if there is any iCloud artwork cache - I don't know) do not interfere with iCloud. Even when I delete the whole local cache (album artwork music - everything) I do not manage to change the artwork.

  • Why is the album art from our iTunesU site not downloading with the content?

Recently, the album art from our iTunes U site has not been downloading with the content. We have tried downloading content from other pages and we get the album art, but when we download out own content the album art does not download with the files. The art appears in the iTunes store so there should not be a problem with the files.  Any idea why this is happening? • When I take a picture on my iPhone or try to save one from the internet, it acts like it takes it, but when I go to my Photo Album, it isn't there. What do I do?

Lately, when I take a picture with my iPhone or try to save one from the internet, it acts like it saves it, but when I go to my Photo Album, it doesn't show up. Also, if I try to take a picture through an app, the app just crashes. What do I do to fix this?

It definitely shouldn't be that slow, are you using the stock camera?  what mode are you using it in?  what other settings do you have setup? try downloading another camera like "a better camera" or any other free one and see if it behaves the same.  If it does that tells me that either the lens is really dirty or the hardware may have an issue.  Make sure the lens is clean then try either a restart or power down and battery pull and see if that solves anything.

  • Removing album art from MP3s on the Z

I've been reading around on the forums and haven't found a definiti've for my problem.
The problem that I have is when I transfer MP3s to my Zen Vision:M, these MP3s somehow get edited with album art. The original files show no evidence of album art, as I have tried numerous programs to try to find it and delete it. Windows Media Player 0, MusicMatch, iTunes, and a few other programs show that these files do not contain album art, yet when I transfer these files to my ZVM they somehow get embedded with album art.
I tried using the Media Explorer to delete the album art once the files are transferred to the ZVM, but you can't edit it. I set Media Explorer to show the album art, but you can't right click or do anything on the album art that is shown.
Does anyone have any solutions to this? Somehow the album art isn't placed onto the file until I transfer onto the ZVM. And it only adds album art to files which have have no album information in its tag or has album art.

You can use Zortam MP3 Media Studio 6.0 to remove album art that is in the ID3 tag. It cost around $25, but it seems to be a good program.

Why would you want to get rid of the album art?
