Choosing between dock connector and speaker?

In my car, I have an FM transmitter / charger.  There are times I want to charge my phone but not have all audio go to the FM trasmitter, but rather to come through the iPhone speaker.  Is there a way to do this?  I was able to do it once using the AirPlay icon on the multitasking bar, but it no longer shows up.

I was told by a friend that sometimes when you use a 3rd party charger that the connectors are not the same size and so it can affect the sensors in the phone and make it seem like it is in a docking station and so changes the output for dock speakers.  With that said, I didn't take my pohone in to be serviced at the appple store because it was a 3GS and over 2 years old and so not covered by any service plan.  Since then my phone is back to normal and I can use my headphones and listen with the speakers on the phone.  I stoped using the suspected cheap 3rd party charger and maybe that's what did it, but not sure if it was or wasn't the cause of my problem.  I'm glad that my phone is better I was kinda holding out for the Iphone 5 when i comes out later and hope my phone lasted until then.

  • IOS7 switch between dock connector and bluetooth

Hi, in iOS6 when there were two potential outputs for sound you could drag up a little orange icon in Music or Pandora and switch between the dock connector and Bluetooth. I cannot find this functionality in iOS7. Can you please point the way? Thanks!

Appears that if I turn the headset off/on it resolves the issue. Off I go to the headset mfg. Appears to be their issue.

  • Cannot get sound to come through my iPad it keeps coming up airplay dock connector and I can't switch it off ?, Cannot get sound to come through my iPad it keeps coming up airplay dock connector and I can't switch it off ?

The sound on my iPad sound doesn't always work, it will work without headphones for less than 3 minutes when I'm playing music but will work for longer when I'm not. It will work for an hour maybe with head phones in but then stop, in which time I have to take them out and put them back in to get the sound to work again. When the sound isn't working airplay says the sound is coming out of a dock connector, and the option, 'iPad' goes.

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or other problem

  • 20 GB iPod (dock connector) and 60 GB USB cord

Wonder if anyone can help me out with this...
Back in January of 2004 I bought a new 20 GB touch wheel iPod with a dock connector (hence, it came with a firewire cord to connect it to the charger and the computer). In September of 2005 I purchased a 60 GB color display iPod (the fat one, not the ones that show movies) and that came with a USB cord rather than firewire. My firewire cord from the 20 GB works on the 60 GB, however it does not appear that the USB cord from the 60 GB works with the 20 GB. I wanted to give the 20 GB to a friend who has a PC and therefore does not have a firewire port, but if he can't use the firewire cord and the USB cord doesn't seem to work with the 20 GB, then he can't connect the 20 GB to his computer--so he's out of luck. My question is, should the USB cord from the 60GB work with the 20GB, or is there a USB cord that I can purchase that WOULD work with the 20GB or should I just forget about this idea?
    Thanks

But what is there to guarantee that buying another USB cable would work? I want to give him the USB cable that came with the 60GB, but it doesn't work with the 20GB... if he buys another one, how am I to know that he won't have two USB cords that don't work with the 20GB? Are there different kinds of USB cords, some that would work with the 20GB and others that wouldn't?

  • Difference Between SAP Connectors and SAP Web Services Framework

    Hello,
I would like to know the main difference between the SAP Connectors protocol (that uses SOAP) and the SAP Web Services Framework starting with NetWeaver.
    Thank you,
    Pedro Carrilho

    Hi Pedro,
I guess you are talking about Business Connectors and XI.
If that is the case, the differences are:
SAP XI belongs to SAP Netweaver Technology, whereas BC is an Integration tool provided by Webmethods.
SAP XI is based on a model called "Hub & Spoke" and Business Connectors are "point to point". So by using XI, what happens is that you do not redesign Solutions once again.
With XI you save the entire integration knowledge of a collaborative process centrally in SAP XI: Objects at design time in the Integration Repository and objects at configuration time in the Integration Directory. In this way, SAP Exchange Infrastructure follows the principle of shared collaboration knowledge: You no longer need to search for information about a collaborative process in each of the systems involved, but can call this information centrally instead. This procedure considerably reduces the costs for the development and maintenance of the shared applications.
Also SAP XI comes with pre-configured solutions bundled along with it, so you can straight-away use the solution instead of redesigning.
Also i believe SAP XI is integrated as a required solution for some new mySAP solution like SRM, there are some scenarios within SRM requires SAP XI to be used and we cannot use BC's there.
But incase if you do not have multiple systems connected and communication is between just 2 systems, BC should be sufficient, instead of investing on XI.
But i guess slowly SAP will be stopping its support for BC, as SAP XI can do everything that BC does and even much more.
    Also go through these threads...
    Re: Business connector
XI vs Connectors (Like JCo and .NET)
I hope this is what you were looking for...

  • IPhone dock connector and Wi-Fi syncing not working

Who's ready for a tough one?
I have an iPhone 5 which will not connect to any charger or computer through USB. I have tried more than one lightning cable. The iPhone will also not connect to iTunes for Wi-Fi sync which isn't surprising to me because it almost never works on any of my family's devices. The iPhone is at 2% battery right now so iCloud backup isn't an option.
    Any ideas for me?
I have had 3 iPhone 5 devices on which the dock connector has broken. It's probably just programmed to do that after 2 years so a new device has to be bought. This is so frustrating because I have tried on 2 of them to replace the part only to have some part of the new thing not work... How about we make a dock connector that isn't so fragile or we at least make some way to manually connect an iOS device to iTunes for Wi-Fi sync via IP address or something?

Just to make sure I'm picking up what you're putting down. When you plug the device into a charger and wall adapter, it does not charge. And when you plug it into the computer it does not appear in iTunes?

  • No coonection between datasync connector and mobile devices

We have data synchronizer running on sles11sp1 server with GroupWise
8sp2 running on sles10sp2 server. On mobility monitor, it shows synced
for all the users in sync state but none of the devices have ever got
connected or initialized. The firewall on datasync is not running right
now. The error from the devices say "unable to verify account
information". Both servers sit behind NAT of Cisco router. We have
already configured to bind datasync server internal ip address to the
public ip address and open the port 443 (which is the port configured on
the mobility connector. Here is the configuration on the router:
ip nat inside source static 10.x.x.x (server's internal ip) x.x.x.x
    (public ip)
    ip access-list OutsideIn
permit tcp any host x.x.x.x (the binded public ip) eq 443
Do I miss anything here? Do I need to add something at ip access-list
InsideOut? If yes, what is it?
I would really appreciate it if someone can give any advice on this.
By the way, we configured the exactly same way for our GroupWise
webaccess email and it works fine. That is why I do not understand why
datasync connector does not work. Is there something more that I need to
configure for datasync connector on the router?

The rules seem fine at first glance, still it looks rather certain that the issue here is with the router configuration, as internally Mobility works.
Maybe check with 'sh run' to see that the access rule added has not been put after the deny rule for that access list (deny will win in that case). Normally I first copy the access rules, clear out the access list in the running config and then add the whole access list back in with the changes added.
As second thought... is the router directly connected to the outside world, or is there maybe a modem still in between... if so, you might also need to add a NAT rule from modem to router.

Yes, that is correct... changes are written to the running configuration, you only have to write them to memory so they will stick in the event of a router/switch reboot.

  • Choosing between Mac Book and Mac Book Pro??

    Hi,
I need a laptop for school and to do a bit of Photoshop and HTML but i don't no wich Macbook should i choose. Here is why im confuse :
I saw this add of a Mac Book Pro 2.53 (320g 7500rpm-4gig RAM) with apple care for 2500$ new and sealed but im not sure if its what i needed.
On the other hand i tough of buying a bran new MacBook 2.4 (1749 cnd$) and upgrade the RAM to 4 gig wich will cost me 150$ + the apple care.
My question is wich one is better and would you trusted the buy a NEW used Mac Book Pro. The guy said that he has all the receipt and he's selling it because he want to buy a MacPro. Apple give im a new labtop because is older one has to many repair to do.
Awaiting for your comment/suggestion on what you would do.
    Tks

Well, I can only offer my advice as to what I would do. Everyone is different, but here it goes.
If you're not doing anything super intensive (HTML/Photoshop plus your usual web-browsing isn't too intensive) you'll have more than enough computer with the 2.4 MB (even without the RAM upgrade! But it can't hurt to do the upgrade if you're wiling to spend the money).
Personally I wouldn't want to take over someones laptop. Let me ask a few questions about the computer listed and some exchange rates.
2.53 MBP, is that the previous model, or the UniBody. And that $2500 is in Canadian I assume (because the new 2.66 UniBody is $2499 US). If it's the previous model it doesn't even appear to be much of a discount for being used.
My feelings are that the person is getting rid of the laptop for a reason. If they were 100% happy with the product, they wouldn't be looking to upgrade to a new computer.
I'd go with the 2.4 MB if I were you. I'm very happy with mine. It'll be enough computer for at least the next 4 years (if taken care of).
    Hope that helps. Cheers.

    hi Prashant,
    Thanks for your reply.
I am able to see the Iview with all the components(textfield, buttons).
But the image is not displayed. and I am not able to check whether the connectivity is been established.
    in this part of code
    text = new TextView("fgfdg"+Str);
I am assigning the value of "Str", which i get from R/3 to "text",
but in the iview the value of "Str" is not displayed.

  • Why do we have to choose between wifi calling and continuity?

I live in a low spot, so signal doesn't make it into my house great from my current provider.  I'm looking to buy an iPhone 6 switch to T-Mobile because WiFi calling was touted in the iPhone 6 release as this great new feature.  But I have also been looking forward to being able to answer calls on my iPad Air, and my wife on her Macbook Air.  In fact, we bought the Macbook Air and my wife's iPhone 5S partially because this feature was touted at the announcement of the new features in iOS 8 and Yosemite this summer.  Now I'm finding out that we are being forced to choose one of these great features; we cannot have both active.  So in my home where signal strength is a problem, I can use WiFi calling, but not continuity.  Is this something that will be allowed in a future update?  It's extremely frustrating to find out that you can't take advantage of all the features you were told would work on your new $800 device.

When I first joined att I got a brand new $500 phone for $200 just for signing a 2 year agreement. This was a pretty good deal in my opinion. Then t mobile started their cheaper bills but you have to pay full price for a phone thing. They decided to let people make payments to help out a bit. This was also a pretty good deal seeing as how your bill would be that much lower. Now att has the same expensive plans but decided to add t mobiles idea of making us pay the full price of the phone. Oh but we get to make payments so I guess it's okay.
So instead of paying $200 now, we get to pay $600 over 30 months. The worst part is that people seem to love this idea. I haven't heard one person complain about it. Are people that dumb that they actually think this is a better deal? If you wanted to make payments, you'd be better off putting $200 on a credit card and paying the interest for 30 months then paying the full price of the phone.

  • I need to choose between an air and a pro

I need some help chosing between a MacBook Pro and a MacBook Air, for uni, and just don't know what is best and worth the value. I study some design subjects so I may need to use some softwares, but otherwise, just general use laptop.

depends on what you need it for.   If no video editing or gaming , get the Air
I own both, and love both, but Id never part with the Air
AIr is on sale right now, $100 off, and is faster.  The new Air just came out.
Your choice is subjective, weigh the differences. Same as other people have to do
