Choosing Central Component Host or Distribued

Hi Dear friends,
I would have prefer to in install our demo system on a central component host mode and not on a distributed mode. But there is a step where the system is asking me the Migration Export Media which I do not have. How do you solve this problem ?

Do not be upset. I m just trying to find out your direct answer to my issue.
1- Am I using the right path ?
2- If not (as I only have the menu shown previously and I m using the right DVD 51033517), where is the right path ?
3- Then is it because of 32bits or 64bit I m not having the path leading to INSTALL instead of COPY ?

It seems like it s a communication problem. The Install Guide is saying somewhere that if you have an eror message, enter the following comm :
sapinst.exe SAPINST_DIALOG_PORT=<free_port_number_sapinst_gui_to_gui_server>
GUISERVER_DIALOG_PORT=<free_port_number_gui_server_to_sapinst_gui>
I did it and it does not work.

    Check the profiles tab in that you have SAP_NEW and SAP_ALL authorization.

    Hi Manu,
    It is the way SAP has evolved over the years.. what was R/3 is now ECC.. after the 4.6 versions, it was Enterprise & now the ECCs..the latest version is ECC 6.0
    Among other things, it basically consists of HR,Logistics,Financilas& a few Business Packages..Regarding BDCs, it is not set in stone that they cannot be used.. it is better to go in for BAPIs wherever possible.. but for some Transactions, BDC is still the only way.. PLease check the following <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005/helpdata/en/43/68805bb88f297ee10000000a422035/frameset.htm">SAP Release Notes</a> for info on ECC 6.0

  • SAP ERP Central Component 5.0 upgrade?

    Hi,
    Currently we have "SAP ERP Central Component 5.0 ides" system with us. Can we upgrade it to ECC 6.0 EHP4 ?
    Main concern is can ides system be upgraded to higher versions?
    I can see latest avaialable ides version is ECC 6.0 EHP4 ides but there are no upgrade DVDs available at service market place.

    The IDES upgrade is not recommended and not supported by SAP. Reason being, IDES content contains many objects in the customer namespaces and the upgrade would certainly run into issues due to these. SAP Support also cannot be sought for, as the upgrade itself is not recommended. We have performed IDES upgrades, but encountered many issues during the procedure.
    u201CIDES Content: Please note that all Support Packages / Enhancement Packages / Upgrades do not have any additional IDES-specific parts. You will not find additionaly demo data in your system after a technical upgrade.u201D
    This states that standard SAP content delivery routes (SPs, EhPs, Upg exports) will not contain any IDES content, which is logical. The IDES content is not required by all customers needing SPs, EhPs or upgrades.

    Kinldy make  clear cut query before you look for an answer to that!
    To check for the WAS-J2EE Stack installation - kindly use the following link to access your WAS j22 Start page "http://hostname:5XX00" where XX will be the System No. for SAP System.
    Incase if you want to find out that you have a EP installed: goto:-
    "http://hostname:5XX00/irj"
    For XI , you can go to "http://hostname:5XX00/rep"
    Incase the links work properly the software component is installed.
    PREREQUISITE for the above CHECKS:
      1) The system number should be correct.
      2) The Fully qualified domain name should be used for the hostname.
      3) The Software components and the J2EE Stack should be operational.
    (ON the SAP SERVER)On OS level --> you can Go and have a look for the following directories existence --->
      1)  usr/sap/SID/DV*.../j2ee,
      2) usr/sap/SID/DV*.../SDM
    This means that you have atleast the Java Stack installed on your SAP Server.
    Next in the task manager(WINDOWS) / process level(UNIX) you can check if you have process "jlaunch process under the sidadm owner".
    In SAP Frontend-GUI :
    You can login and go to T-Code ST11 and check for the log files
    dev_disp, dev_dispatcher, dev_server0, dev_jcontrol, dev_bootstrapID.......,
    these file will give you info regarding the J2ee stack and its components....

  • Central transport host configuration with clusters

    Hi,
    I've configured my landscape (DEV - QAS - PRD) systems to use a central transport host, following instructions on note "62739 - Configuring a central transport host".
    The central transport host is the DEV system.
    It is working fine and as expected, except to the PRD system, which is on a Microsoft Cluster.
    I cannot find anything wrong with the configuration so a question arises: is the central transport host supposed to work on clusters as well?

  • Choose Date Component do not work in Internet Explorer 7

    I have developped a Form with ADF using a Choose Date Component.
    In Firefox everything is working fine. But in Internet Explorer 7 the Calendar of the Choose Date Component don't work
    IE has following error message:

    Error: Element not found
    Code: 0

    You didn't mention which JDeveloper version you are using. Assuming it is 11 can you try the component demo from here and see if it works:

  • Hosted Exchange Distribution groups i am part of

    Hello,
    I have setup a Hosted Exchange environment, i am filtering on ExtensionAttribute1 between company's.
    Now when i create a Distribution group with ExtensionAttribute1 filled in this is still displayed when a users goes to OWA --> Options --> Groups When the user clicks on the butten to let him decide where to be a member of he will see all Distribution
    Groups there are, regarding what i set in ExtensionAttribute1, so i have to hide all my Distribution Groups.

    The only workaround is to remove the group option from OWA as the Address book Policies (ABP), that I assume you setup, don't effect that view. 
    ABP's don’t apply to the Get-Group cmdlets. Therefore, any user or process that is able to run Get-Group will see all members of any group
    they have access to.
    We recommend that you modify the group management settings of the OWA Options so users can’t use Outlook Web App to manage groups. To prevent users from using OWA Options to manage groups,
    exclude the users from the MyDistributionGroupMembership RBAC role. For details, see MyDistributionGroupMembership role.

  • How to Choose Central Instance?

    Since iSetup is an EBS module and I don't want to lose any migration information due to a refresh of a production clone I would think that using the production EBS instance as the central instance would be the correct choice.  But can anyone here provide some insight into this choice of central instance and the options?

    No... you didn't understand...
    You have 3 systems...
    DEVBMGS00 for production.
    DEVBMGS25 for development
    DEVBMGS00 for Quality
    each system has a central instance as each system needs to have an enque process for handling the locks on each individual database. in a system (say one of the three above) you can have more that one instance the central instance is the one that holds the enque process.

    (it has to be another client)
    which is set in SXMB_ADM - integration engine config as a HUB
