Choosing different versions of Flash Player in Flash Catalyst
Greetings everyone,
Is it possible to choose different version of flash player when I publish my website using flash catalyst? Currently it is askinf for flash player 10.2 in order to play. I want to lower down the version of flash player required in order to let more users view my project.
Thanks!

There is an extension for Firefox called ‘Flash
Switcher’.
This extension allows you to switch from one version of Flash
player to another. This is not an Adobe product, but it had
received some good reviews on the web.
This is an amazingly useful tool as a developer working a
selection of sites which are all catered towards a different target
age range (older people seem to have older versions installed).

Momentary pause in Sound when using Flash Player AND Flash CS4
Hello,
When ever I play something in Adobe Flash Player (a flash movie, for example) and there is an absence of sound, the flash player will momentarily pause (for about 1 second) RIGHT BEFORE an incoming sound is made.
Imagine in the movie someone swings a hammer towards a plank. The animation will pause RIGHT BEFORE the hammer makes an impact and thus creates the hitting sound. The sound and animation will time up correctly, but there is that brief pause before, as if the internet browser, or flash player, or my sound card has to 'load' something before executing the sound.
I tried experimenting with my sound output via the bottom-right hand control properties on the desktop, and when I choose "Digital Output Device (SPDIF)" and disable my "SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC," there is absolutely NO sound at all, yet there is also NO lag prior to where a sound would play in the movie. This leads me to believe it may be a problem with my sound card.
As I said before, if the Flash player is playing a continuous sound, a background song, for instance, there is no momentary pause when the introduction of new sounds happens.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the player - no luck. Obviously i'm currently running the player at the newest version.
OS: Windows Vista Home Basic
RAM: 2G
Processor: Genuine Intel CPU 1.6 GHz
Sound: SigmaTel High Definition
Browser: FireFoxI have the same problem as you. I created a thread with the same subject, if you want to watch it for answers too, here's the URL: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/484626

can you please fix my flash player and flash reader and thank you i got windows 8
Ok, I tried to download the firefox browser but IE wouldn't let me download it. My friend downloaded it from their computer to a flash drive and I loaded it to my computer from the flash drive. The download of Firefox from the flash drive worked, and now I'm using Firefox & both my adobe flash player and my adobe reader are working just great.
However, neither the flash player nor the reader are working if I use IE, so I guess I will just have to use Firefox as my browser.
I'm going to mark my question as answered since I really don't care that I have to use Firefox instead of IE,although I can't understand why it works using Firefox but not using IE.
Thank you so much for your assistance in walking me step-by-step through this problem until I was able to reach a satisfactory solution. -
ik heb adobe flash player geinstalleerd maar doet het niet in firefox
IE uses an [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ActiveX ActiveX] control to handle Flash objects.
Firefox uses a different [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NPAPI NPAPI] plugin.
Your above posted list of installed plugins doesn't show the Flash plugin for Firefox.
You can get the latest version of Flash Player here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Stompclient is not working for Flash Player 9 (Flash Player 9,0,124,0)
We are facing issue in STOMP client because of newly

Update Flash Player in Flash MX 2004
Hi folks,
I'm having a problem with publishing (and previewing)
transitions and reading through the threads think it might be that
I don't have Flash Player 8 or higher. Flash Player 9 is installed
on my computer for web-browsing but when looking in my Flash MX
publish settings, the newest version is Flash 7.
Can anyone advise me how I go about fixing this as it may
solve my other problem? If anyone has any other suggestions of how
to fix the tranisition problem, they are also appreciated.
Thanks in advance.when i said flash 9 has been released early - i was referring
to the player - not the tool - dont
wanna start false rumours :p

Flash player vs. flash Plugin
I am trying to be diligent about keeping all my Adobe products up to date. Flash is next in line but I don't quite understand what the flash player is as compared to the plugin. I have multiple computers that have both installed and want to make sure everything is on the current version. So my questions are:
#1. What is the difference between the player and the plugin?
#2. When I go to Adobe's site and update flash it only updates the flash player, not the plugin. Where is the update for the plugin to bring it current?
#3. Is the plugin even needed if the flash player is installed?
Thanks for the input in advance.
BDHi BD, The Flash Player term applies to all browsers that is supported. If you see Flash Player ActiveX in your Add/Remove or Programs and Features, this indicates you have it Installed in Internet Explorer. If you see Flash Player plug-in listed there, it indicates that you have it Installed in Firefox, Chrome or any other browser that is supported.
In the IE add ons, one would also have the Shockwave Flash Object, the ActiveX Control that works with the Flash files for IE that have been Installed and it must be Enabled.
In the FF or other browsers, one would find the SWF vs 10.0.45.2 (latest version) listed and it must be Enabled. This is the plug-in and yes it is needed.
When Installing Flash Player, you would need to Use IE and Install for that browser. Then if you want Flash Player Installed for Firefox or another browser, then Use that browser and Install Flash Player for all non-IE browsers.
The link for non-IE browsers is here which you would download to your Desktop:
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
Hope this helps explain it.
Thanks,

Unchecking auto updates does not stop the message for me.
Sorry to hear that too. I actually recommended this to a few friends who were having the same issue, and it worked for them.
But, I'm wondering.... Have you tried disabling the check for updates settings in both the (Window's Control Panel's) Global settings manager and the (online) Global Notifications Settings panel? (That's the one on this page -- http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager02.htm l ) On that page, click on the "Globe with the Check Mark" tab and make sure that the box is blank.
Hope this helps.

Adobe Flash Player / Shockwave Flash Crashing
Adobe Flash and Shockwave Flash are crashing several times a day on my computer. Windows 8.1 and firefox v 34.0.
I can recreate the issue sometimes by right clicking on flash media, which will lock up my browser for several seconds and then cause a crash.
Can anyone give me some suggestions for where to start troubleshooting this issue?
Thank you,
BruceI've seen a lot of stability reports around Windows 8, Firefox and Flash Player.
Both Google Chrome and Internet Explorer have invested heavily in bringing a highly tuned experience and modern plug-in interfaces to Windows 8. Improving plug-in support is not a priority for Firefox, and although we continue to address stability issue where they make sense, most of what I'm seeing are generic crashes and hangs that boil down into the fundamental inefficiency in retrofitting a modern sandboxing approach necessary to protect users in today's security landscape with a plugin architecture from the 1990s.
While I'm more than happy to take a look at your crash reports, I'm pretty sure that this is the conclusion we'll arrive at based on the last several folks I've talked to about this. -
Flash player or Flash Basic?
I've been tasked with learning Flash and we currently have Flash Basic 8, but are missing the cd. Is this the same as the Flash Player 8 that can be downloaded for free?
Thanks!I cannot use Flashplayer, please help: [email protected]

Of late, when ever I attempt to listen to radio online, or view video, the viewer / Flash crashes, locks up Firefox, and seems to also have some sort of effect on MS Outlook.
It could be that hardware acceleration in Flash is causing it (and Firefox) to crash. Try following this to disable it: [[Managing the Flash plugin#w_playing-flash-videos-makes-firefox-hang]]

What flash player to use on iPad 2 that is similar to Adobe Flash Player? Need this to choose files for upload of assignments to my online university. I started my profile for this site using my iPad 2 and couldn't choose a picture to upload as well. Hmm
There is no "flash player similar to Adobe Flash Player". Flash is a proprietary Adobe product. There is currently no version of Flash for iOS.

I have overlook, some part's but yet. If you program, don't come with basic download..
(nor That might take longer to download. for any User.)
but Its highly in-portent for a User. To having also. a basic Part..
with in there own system, and not Sub-file
because a Sub-file do, make the program more unstable. The stable.

Mistake all over again. every new version.
but anyway. I wish to ask you. are you able to make a adobe flash player
for Flash-Games That don't have everything but a smaller version, To all
(DX versions)
Greetings LisomiWe have a Flash Projector that can be used to play Flash content (.swf files) on a local computer. This is used frequently in kiosks and interactive displays, but requires the SWF to run.
Alternatively, if you are an application developer looking to build a standalone game, you can use Adobe AIR to build mobile applications, while still using ActionScript. -
What is causing Flash Player to crash shortly after I download and install the latest version
It only normally lasts a day or two, but the last time it crashed on the first use the same day I downloaded and installed it. I am running Windows 7 Home Edition with Firefox as my browser, and I have Bitdefender antivirus as well as MalwareBytes anti malware installed and active. As far as I can tell Flash Player is the only program affected this way. Is there any other substitute player I can install that works as a plugin to Firefox and won't crash the day it's installed?
When I used to see this with Win 7 it was because the Shockwave player (not Flash) was outdated.
To make sure you're up to date for both, download the following:
Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Also, download these:
Shockwave Player Uninstaller
Shockwave Player 12 FULL installer (ther browsers)
Save all the files and close your browser.
Run the uninstallers first (both of them)
Go to: C/Windows/System32
Delete the Macromed folder.
Go to: C/Windows/SysWOW64 (if your Windows is 64 bit)
Delete the Macromed folder.
Open your Registry Editor (Start>Run or press the Windows key + R and type 'regedit' [minus the quotes] and click OK)
In the Registry Editor, go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE
Delete the Macromedia folder (Right click and choose "Delete").
Go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software and delete the Macromedia folder there too.
Close the Registry Editor and empty your recycle bin.
Run the Flash Player installer, and then the Shockwave FULL installer.
Worst case: If that doesn't stop the crashes, try resetting Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/reset-firefox-easily-fix-most-problems
