Choppy audio during cell phone call.

Is anyone else having this problem?
I'm on a cell phone call with 5 bars and after about a minute or so they start hearing me all choppy and that's with 5 AT&T bars.
Is this a known issue? I don't see anything regarding this problem.

That's because if you have anything plugged into the headphone socket it (fairly sensibly) assumes you're using a headset.
You would be better with a headunit that has its own audio circuitry and uses the iPhone's as a data storage unit.

Is there a way to lock the phone's touch screen during a phone call?

I just purhased my iPhone and I noticed that during a phone call I may accidentally tap Mute or Speakerphone with my cheak, depending on which hand I hold the phone in. Also when I hand the phone over to someone they may accidentally tap a button, and in the worst scenerios they will accidentally end the call.

Their currently isent a way to disable the buttons but what you can do is click the home button during a call after pressing loud speaker and that will separate you from the call options and take you to the home screen and on the top it will have say call active and you can click that to renter the call note the call will still be active but when you hold it next to your face the screen should temporally go dark. Steve jobs was the one who came up with when the top sensor is active the screen will go dark and disable on screen button pressing when it is press against your face

How can I add a contact during a phone call

some times during a phone call the one im taking with give me phone number and i dont have a paper to write down this number to save later, my question is how can I add a phone number during a phone conversation?
please note that im using iphones with latest update iOS 7.1.2

While on a call you can use the "add call" or "Contacts" buttons to get to the Contacts app. You can then add a new contact or add or edit numbers in existing contacts. (If the keypad is showing, press "hide" to see the other buttons.) Press the green bar at the top of the screen to return to the phone screen. If you are not using the headset, you can switch to speakerphone first, so you can talk while doing this.
If you want to use another app while on the phone, press the home button, then choose the app. It won't disconnect the call. If you have a CDMA carrier (Sprint, Verizon) you won't be able to use cellular data while on a call.

Verizon is not a GSM carrier. Verizon and Sprint are CDMA carriers that have also recently adding an LTE (4G) network. The iPhone 5 is a combination LTE/GSM/CDMA network compatible phone.
ATT and T-Mobile are GSM carriers. ATT has also recently added an LTE network.
If you were able to talk and surf the web on Verizon's CDMA network with your iPhone previously, that was some trick which is not supported with a CDMA network as is supported with GSM 3G networks.

I cannot turn up the volume during a phone call

My "+" button on the side of my phone is broken and I cannot turn up the volume during a phone call. Is there any other way to control the volume during phone calls?

After trying everything I gave up.
But just 5 minutes ago... I dropped by phone on the floor, not from high, just sitting on my chair at my pc desk...
And someone just called and i can hear them!!!
So...
for me, i guess it was really a piece inside that wasn't making a good connection and well...
I accidentally fixed it...
But I wouldn't reccomend you to drop it on purpose.
But maybe go to your nearest apple store, ask them to open it and see if everythin is in place inside?

During calls with skype or viber the other person can hear me but during normal phone calls my voice doesn´t sound. What can i do?

The iPhone 4 actually has 2 microphones, one on top and one on bottom. The apps you're trying to make calls with might be using a different mic than the one that normal calls go through. Check that the microphone mesh covers, and top microphone hole are not clogged with lint or other debris.
If the microphone mesh or top microphone appear clogged, please use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to clean them. Use the brush to carefully and gently brush the speaker and microphone mesh.

Modem doesn't disconnect during incoming phone call

In System Preferences-Network, I have checked the boxes, "Notify me of incoming calls when connected to the internet ," Play alert sound when receiving a call," and "Remind me 1 second before disconnecting me."

Jeffrey, Welcome to the discussion area!
I believe that there are 2 issues here. One is how the iMac handles incoming calls. The other is that your telephone service has to send a signal when there is an incoming call.
In traditional phone service, if you are using the phone and someone tries to call you, their call is blocked at the switch (at the telephone company) and they hear a busy signal.
To do what you want, you must ensure that your phone company has the proper configuration to send your iMac the signal that there is another phone call.

How is it possible that so many people complain about the echo sounds during their phone calls, and that there is no reaction or sollution for this problem ???

My experience with iOS7 crashing seems to be tied to bluetooth and when I activate the keyboard in relationship to having a text box on the screen.
Apple rarely acknowledges an issue, once they fix it, they just quietly bundle it into an update and it goes away.
Issues can also be very difficult to track down given the number of iPads out there (millions) and I doubt (excepting school or business set up ones) that two iPads are identical. Issues can be hard to track down when the common denominator is hard to determine.

Microphone not working during the phone calls

Hi dear colleagues,
I've been using my STL100-2 for 3 weeks and suddenly my microphone stopped working during the phone calls.
It is 100% not a hardware problem because voice input works fine.
The microphone works correctly when I turn the speaker on. And when I use the headset as well.
What is wrong there? I tried hard reset, flashed my BB to the latest 10.2 and it didn't solve my problem: the other side could not hear me.b
Please, help me as I cannot do a very simple thing - make calls on my phone without those freaky tricks.

I have a similar problem, I found that it worked ok after I made a Skype call to the phone or if I called the phone from my playbook using video chat it would seem to start working, then it got worse and I found if I squeezed near the mick it would work ok. I also saw another thread where they had similar problems and solutions were possibly linked to loose screws on the plastic casing around the area of the mic as the author suggests it could be an assembly issue. I plan to check mine when I get to work tomorrow as I have no screw drivers small enough on my person right now. Anyway try it you never know it may give you a clue to the problem.

Screen won't go black During a phone call

I can NOT get my screen to black out during a phone call and its driving me crazy!!! I keep pressing buttons during a phone call "face time the key pad etc" while I'm talking is their anyone out their that knows what I can do to fix this!!?!! I have the latest software update on this thing I have also took my case off my phone to see if it was blocking the sensor and I'm still having problems!!!!! CAN SOMONE PLEASE HELP ME! Also idk if this makes a difference but I'm on verizon And have the white iPhone I heard the sensor was different on this one

If reset, restore do not resolve, then make an appointment at the genius bar or call Apple support and arrange for a replacement.

Cannot get texts during a phone call

I cannot receive texts (iMessage for sure--haven't had any SMS opportunity yet) when I'm on the phone with someone. Is there a way I can get those texts to come through during a phone call?

Ugh. The other phone did not have "send as SMS when iMessage is unavailable" turned on. Good thing I noticed that AFTER I posted here.

I can imagine a native library would be needed, unless the JTAPI has really improved since I last looked at it.
Usually people attempt to send an SMS via Java, what were you planning to do with actual cell phone calls?
