CHOPPY FLASH VIDEO PLAYBACK WITH ADOBE FLASH VERSION 10-11

I'm  having a problem as described in a previous post re: Choppy flash videos, pictures, etc.. Youtube, megavideo any videos viewed online appear fine at first and then after 10-15 mins, start showing choppy. The audio was not a problem before, but I have noticed that it is being affected as well. I saw some posts on another forum a few days ago that recommended disabling flash player 11 in my chrome browser plugins and enabling verion 10 (which was available, but has since upgraded) and version 10 was working fine until it upgraded to 11 again. Now I have no options to revert to version 10 again.
My system info is below:
Sony:
OS - Windows 7
64 bit
Browser Chrome 16.0.912.77
Browser FireFox   9.0.1
Browser IE 9
Browser Safari 5.1.2
Flash Player 11,1,102,55
McAfee (came with the upgrade of flash player)
This is very frustrating. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing, rebooting the browser, my pc, deleting cache files and cookies...NOTHING IS WORKING. CPU usage is between 20-35% when a video is active in my browser. I think that is normal, but I know that the choppy playback is not and it's only getting worse. Please HELP!
I hope this NEW POST will suffice as per your requirements.

When the video is choppy, how much CPU and RAM usage is occurring?  Do you have a graphics control panel that shows how much video RAM is in use when the video is choppy?
Do you have a list of sites and videos where the video is choppy?
If you don't want the McAffee add-on, remove it.

  • Please give me some examples of video chat with adobe flash builder 4 or adobe flex 3.5

I'm a newbie for flex. I had a project from my college to made a video chat application using Adobe Flash Builder 4 and used Red5.  please help me, give me some examples of video chat source code, so that i may to learn it. thanks a lot friends.

As you are starting at the beginning you may as well start with FB4. When you install FB4 you will find that its start page has links to documentation tutorials and examples through the tour-de-flex. There are some great blogs that continue to offer advice and examples, nothing beats well written examples for learning. If you are on face book there is an Adobe Flex page that is continually giving links to examples and information about e-seminars.
And of course there is here. So jump on board and have a bit of fun.

    Hi,

My laptop is Windows 7 64 bit operating system and Microsoft Internet Explorer is 32 bit.
After i install the latest version, the advertisement which display in the web site are keeping flashing on my laptop screen.
After i uninstall and re-install it back, the situation still remain same.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.
    Jane

I experienced the same problem on my Win7 Pro SP1 x64 lenovo T410 laptop with Intel HD Graphics.  There was no video driver update available.
I followed the instructions in this topic: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/853591 (step #4) and went back to version 10.2.
Problem solved.  I just have to remember not to do any updates to flash player when prompted.  I'll come here first to make sure the problem is fixed.

  • You Tube not playing video on Firefox with Adobe Flash after latest update

You Tube and other sites are not playing video on Firefox with Adobe Flash after latest update for both. Adobe Flash is working on other sites but not You tube and those sites that may have embedded You Tube videos, I'm not sure.
Adobe Flash does not crash and no error message is showing. All that shows is a dark screen for the Flash video. Right clicking the screen shows only a non-clickable 'Movie not loaded' and the clickable link to the Adobe home page.
I have spent an hour trying things as suggested for past problems similar to this but none have helped.
I have sent sad face letting you know what I think of the latest update because of this which says pretty much the same thing as I have said here.
I have no further info but if I had some input and queries form you I might be able to provide more.

I'm not sure how to remove the 12.xxx version,. I don't understand why it is there, usually updates over wirte the old one as far as I know. I don't know where to find it.
    pref .js deleted.
    I could not find a user.js
I disabled hardware acceleration on one of them, not sure which and I don't remember how I did it but think it must have been on the flash.
No idea what protected mode is
no new profile, I've never done this.
Ok, did what you have said as much as I could. I have been fidgeting with things now for a couple hours. After doing a CCleaner and Registry cleanse, turning off and restarting the computer, the videos are now p-laying.
I would still like to know how to find and get rid of the duplicate Flash plug in though if you would't mind.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Problems with Flash video playback

I'm having a problem with Flash video playback, hoping
    someone here can help.
I have several movies which I have converted to .flv using
the Flash authoring tool. I have then created an .swf for each
movie, embedding the .flv along with the playback component,
    playback controls, etc.
I can open these .swfs using Flash Player and everything
displays and plays as expected. However, when I embed the .swf into
a web page and open it using a browser, the playback controls don't
show up, and the movie will only play if it has been encoded to
autoplay. I am on an Intel Mac, using the latest Flash Player
plug-in, and am having this problem in both Firefox 2.0.0.11 and in
    Safari 2.0.4.
I'm guessing that the problem lies in how I have encoded the
.swfs into the web page? Hoping someone has a solution, or at least
    a good suggestion!
    thanks,
    - sounddevisor

Yes, that is exactly what I needed. Thanks!
Just to clarify for anyone else who stumbles across this -
the extra .swf files (which contain the skin for the player) need
to be in the same directory as the .html doc which is displaying
the video .swf. Hope that helps someone else!

  • I cannot watch any videos that require adobe flash player. I have tried to download their latest version but nothing happens. Any ideas? I can no longer even view my facebook videos.

I cannot view any video clips requiring adobe flash player such as my facebook videos. When I download the adobe flash player nothing happens and it continually says to download. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?  I am using MacBook Pro O SX. Thank you.

Just to check, in the directory /Library/Internet Plug-Ins do you see the file Flash Player.plugin?
And after reading your last post I have to ask, did you install the plugin after you downloaded it?  Of course anwering my first question will answer this question.

  • Judder in flash video playback

I'm having this weird random judder issue when viewing video playback using the flash player (e.g. youtube).  The judder is very noticeable on 2d scrolling videos such as this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAdHJYUjeVo&feature=g-all-u#t=10m40s.  I have gotten the judder to go away only a few times by jumping around video resolutions and using the "show video info" option.  It's totally inconsistent in terms of a fix.  Video info shows that it's running at 30fps and not dropping frames.  I've used current versions of firefox, chrome and IE with the same results.  I'm seriously baffled.
This just didn't become an issue with the current version of flash.  It's been an issue across many versions of flash.
In the ways of the troubleshooting I've tried with no success:
    Uninstalled and reinstalled flash.
    Turned off hardware acceleration.
    Disabled plugins and extensions.
    Uninstalled my antivirus (avira).
Done a clean wipe and install of my video drivers.
    Disabled aero.
Any ideas or suggestions would help a lot.  Thanks in advance.

    Thank you for replying.
    Bug report has been submitted.
I'm pretty sure the judder has always been there.  Sometimes it's more pronounced and sometimes it's not.  As I said it's very inconsistent.  But 95% of the time there is judder.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling flash ver. 10.3.183.43 and unfortunately it did not fix it.
It's so weird.  It really looks like it's dropping fps at random and yet flash player video info says it's fluctuating between 29-31 fps and not dropping frames.
I really don't understand how me going back and forth between resolutions and fullscreen and right clicking on the video to bring up video info will make it go away randomly.

  • How do I view videos that need Adobe Flash Player on my iPad?

How do I view videos that need Adobe Flash Player on my iPad? If this device does not support Adobe Flash?

Skyfire is Not the answer! Bad reviews and you have to pay to try.
I used Puffin Free Browser. Worked perfectly with a 14 day free trial for Flash. It worked well for Flash videos so I would buy the full version.

  • Privacy/Security Issue with Adobe Flash 10

Not sure if anyone has noticed this or not, but there is a
bizarre (if minor) privacy/security issue with Adobe Flash Player
    10. I came across it while attempting to upload a file to Flickr.
Previous versions of AFP do not exhibit this problem.
    Specifics: using Firefox 3.x, Vista.
The problem: When Flickr calls the "open file" dialogue in
Flash 10 (in order to upload files) via the "Upload Photos and
Videos" link, at the bottom of the dialogue, to the right of the
"File Name" box, sits a common UI element that brings up a dropdown
menu of what appear to be (or at least are supposed to be) recently
viewed or downloaded or accessed files. Actually I'm not sure how
Flash 10 compiles or accesses this list of files, but at any rate,
a list of files come up.
The problem is that, as far as I can tell, the list of files
that come up reference a long list of files, some that are very old
and that no longer exist, and that there is no way that I can find
to clear the list. This is a minor security/privacy issue, as
generally there should be a way to prevent a dialogue from
displaying a long list of past-accessed files by clearing a cache
somewhere or other -- imagine if it was impossible to clear the
history of a web browser, for example -- this would be considered a
pretty significant privacy issue. I have tried everything from
flushing the browser cache to uninstalling and reinstalling the
browser to uninstalling and reinstalling Adobe Flash to using the
Flash Settings Manager to clear out the Flash saved sites to
turning off Vista indexing to clearing out Vista's Recent Items
list. None of these actions did anything to clear out this list of
files. I can find no references to these files anywhere when I use
Vista Search (with unindexed and system files searched as well),
and I can find no reference to the files anywhere in the registry
(I checked just in case Flash 10 was storing this index in some
really bizarre place.) I've linked to a screenshot below of what
I'm talking about -- most of the files listed below were deleted a
long, long time ago, and so I have no idea why this dialogue refers
    to them.
    Screenshot
Is there a simple work-around for this that I'm unaware of?
Even if there is, there needs to be some more obvious way to clear
out this list. Where is this information being stored, and what
criteria does this list use to "put a file on the list"?

Thanks for putting me on the right scent. That's what I'd
originally thought, too -- it's just that the file-> open dialog
was giving an entirely different list of files with other
applications, so I assumed that it must be Flash that was the
culprit. Turns out the reason it was different with Flickr was
because it was restricting the file results via a long string of
video and picture filetypes that are compatible with the Flickr
    service.
It turns out the information I'm looking for is buried deep
within the registry. The only way to clear out this list of files
is to delete the following key (or specific subkeys):
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\OpenSavePidl MRU
Seems more than a little stupid to store such information in
the registry if security is your concern. Vista beguiles me
    sometimes.

  • [RANT]Flash video playback

Full screen flash video playback is much smoother in my virtualized Windows XP(qemu-kvm) compared to my native Arch setup(Radeon 4350, open ati drivers). This is flipping crazy. Why Adobe, why!?

It's pretty much universally accepted that this is Adobe's fault for not putting enough of an effort into Flash for Linux. I with that agree to a large extent - for a start they need to enable hardware acceleration as a top priority. I am running an Nvidia ION on an Atom 330 with x64; now, this thing should be able to play fullscreen SD video regardless, hardware acceleration or not - yet fullscreen flash still kills it, which is a real disappointment and the only think that sometimes makes me wish I had taken the windows 7 option (and I've been using Arch for over 6 years!)
That said, I don't think it is fair to put all the blame in Adobes court. The writers of flash video players have to do some answering too. For example, here in the UK the BBC iplayer plays fine in full screen for me - nice and smooth, while the Channel 4 player is unwatchable. Likewise for lots of flash video on the Internet, some are good and some are bad - all Adobes fault? I think not (although I'll give then 80% of the blame).
Here's is a great hack as a workaround though... Ignore conventional wisdom, enable composite extensions and install compiz-complete. Once you have it up and running enable the 'Zoom Desktop' plugin. Now you can draw a window around your in-browser video and Compiz will magically zoom it to full screen, and it will remain completely smooth (this is sort of a hardware acceleration hack I suppose!).
The down side is that you cannot interact with the player while it is zoomed in, but it removes the problem of slow video completely.
    Score!
    Dan.

  • Can I make the animation in Inside Job with Adobe Flash?

    Hello Flash users,
I want to create animations like the ones in the documentary Inside Job with shapes, texts and graphs with Adobe Flash CS6. Am I using the right tool?
Some of the effects I fail to achieve with flash are:
    1. Making images pop out with a flip
    2. Making texts pop out in order, from left to right
    3. Making an arrow with animated extention
I'm begining to believe I'm using the wrong tool.

AE is far easier than Flash to animate in. They support nesting as well but they call it a "sub composition" or subcomp. Any layer you right-click on can be turned into a subcomp. You can think of them as MovieClips. Go inside any subcomp and it's a whole new timeline. Use it to organize your project.
Outside that the arrow in that is a simple means of revealing, just like you'd do it in Flash (only perhaps easier).
You'd mask out the area you want the arrow to appear in. To animate the arrow coming in (only in the masked area) just animate the X property (just like Flash) as well as the mask to keep it in place. The text being revealed as the arrow goes by is the same thing, a mask revealing it as the arrow goes by.
Some of the extra glamour going on there is they added a gradient to the arrow which you do after you get the basics in place repeating all the same techniques, just masking the gradient to the arrow, etc.
You shouldn't really try to compete with a polished AE composer right to start. Get your basics in place first. This program is fairly professional grade so you can't expect amazing results from a few days of experimenting.
Don't get overwhelmed with the functionality of AE. You really only need 1% of it to pull this video off, the very basics.
What version of AE do you use?
Here's a quick example of a basic arrow along the gradient lines of what you have without animating any gradient, just animating the arrows coming in from the left side. Notice I'm keyframing the mask AND the position of the arrow. This should give you a general idea of using masks to reveal (notice the mask feather setting as well).
    Example AE (CS5.5)

  • Safari: How view video clips without Adobe Flash Player?

In OS 10.7.2 and with Safari 5.1.2 or Firefox 8.x  how does one view video without installing Adobe Flash Player?  On such websites as that of the New York Tines, I get a "Your System Status" dialogue box that says: "We're sorry!  You need to update your Flash Player."  A link appears in the dialogue box to "Get Adobe Flash Player."   What options does one have?
    Thanks for considering my question.
