Choppy video on iDVD for "time lapse" scenes

After finishing a video in Final Cut Express and exporting it as a self-contained Quicktime movie, I created a project in iDVD and proceeded to burn my exported video.  There are a few scenes in my Final Cut project where I sped up the footage.  When I review the exported Quicktime video, all is fine, but when I review the newly burned DVD, those sped up scenes are now choppy and crappy.  The rest of the footage is fine.  I've tried burning a few different times at lower burn speeds, but that doesn't seem to help.  Any ideas??? What encoding method are you using?  If you haven't used Professional give it a try.  It's a two pass process the first pass determining which parts of a video can be compressed most and which require the minimal amount of compressions.  The second pass does the encoding.
Follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality final product:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process. 
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
