Chown errors from the AIR silent install
This problem only occurs on the Mac.
I am trying to run the Adobe AIR silent installer to install
my application from the command line but while it runs I get:
"chown: <filename>:Operation not permitted." The
filename are files from within the app bundle AIR creates during
installation.
It also never creates a desktop shortcut (using
-desktopShortcut) either.
Any reason why this is happening?

The AIR Integration Kit comes with applicationupdater_ui.swc and applicationupdater_ui.swf which are built with Flex 3.1. Due to API changes in Gumbo, using applicationupdate_ui.swc as is causes a verify error. This change uses the existing source and build file from the Air Integration Kit to rebuild applicationupdate_ui.swc and applicationupdate_ui.swf.

If you're using an initrd, you may not have the appropriate modules installed. If you're not using an initrd, then the kernel probably needs LVM support compiled in (not as a module) and could be solved by fixing that. I have never used the ck-patchset, but this should give you an additional data point.
Also comment=systemd.automount will be deprecated soon as I understand it; if you have a need for automounting, x-systemd.automount should be used instead. -
upgrading to osx 10.6.8 fails. I see errors in the /var/log/install.log of "An unexpected error occurred while moving files to the final destination." Underlying Error=(Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=5 "The operation couldn’t be completed. Input/out. Any thoughts on what is causing these errors and the upgrade failure?
ThanksI have no idea what the specific error code means but input/output errors can sometimes mean a disk is failing. Make a couple of backups of all important data before doing anything else.
Verify your startup disk using the First Aid tab in Disk Utility. If the disk needs repair boot from your Leopard DVD and repair your disk from Disk Utility under Utilities on the screen after you choose your language. Repeat the repair process until Disk Utility reports all is well.
If Disk Utility doesn't find any errors you might want to try a new download of the update and keep a sharp eye on your HD for anything else that might indicate all is not well. Take special care to back up important data.
If Disk Utility finds errors it would probably be a good idea to pay a visit to the Apple Store to have them check out your hard drive even if Disk Utility is able to repair the errors. -

The DNS server has encountered a critical error from the Active Directory. Check that the Active Directory is functioning properly. The extended error debug information (which may be empty) is "". The event data contains the error.

first run "ipconfig /flushdns" and then "ipconfig /registerdns" finally restart dns service and check the situation,also you can check dns logs computer management ->Event viewer->Custom Views->Server roles->DNS. -
Hello,
I have been trying to install Windows 7 on my macbook pro (mid 2009, MBP53). I have successfully created a bootcamp partition using the assistant. When the computer tries to boot from the windows 7 install dvd, the screen is just black. The dvd spins for a bit, then stops and the computer is just black (no blinking cursor).
Any advice would be very appreciated.

You can use any DVDs that are hardware specific. Only the full non-hardware soecific DVDs work on the Mac.

I have a late 2012 iMac and a late 2009 mac mini. I want to know if I can take the 8 GB of ram from the iMac and install it in my mac mini.
According to Cruicial my mac mini could use:
Module Size: 8GB Kit (4GBx2)

Somewhere I thought I'd heard that faster Ram would simply clock at the lower speed. It seems that I am incorrect.

Is it possible to remove my hard drive from the Macbook and install it in a new Macbook Pro?
I currently have a 2009 Macbook and am wanting to upgrade to a new Macbook Pro. I have upgraded my hard drive in the macbook to a 500gb and have a duel boot with Windows 7 installed with Boot Camp along with other software that I do not want to lose. Is it possible to remove my hard drive from the Macbook and install it in a new Macbook Pro?
A much better solution is to hook your two Mac together and the first time you start the new Mac and it asks if you wish to recover data from another Mac, answer yes. This will invoke Setup Assitant which will do the job for you but intelligently.
I know because I just used Setup Assitant. It worked like a charm.

I have a Hyper-V server with a few virtual machines.
The host runs Windows Server 2012 R2 with Hyper-V.
VMs are Windows Server 2012R2 Generation 2 and Windows Server 2003 Generation 1.
All VMs running on VHDX on local host disks, no raid, no storage. Most VMs run on dedicated disks.
I am having the following error when I demand large amount of I/O on VMs:. "The request could not be performed due to an error from the I/O device"
This error happens when I run robocopy which requires large amount of writing, or on a SQL 2014 VM which also requires many reads and writes.
Whenever this error occurs, the replicas of the VMs require resynchronization and the MSSQL service stops.
Analyzing the events of the Host, I find the following warning multiple times: "The IO operation at logical block address 0x31fd01 for Disc 4 (PDO name: \ Device \ 0000005d) was retried." Disc 4 is where SQL runs.
Is there any special configuration that must be done to avoid these errors?

It seems that it is not a hyper-v issue .
I would suggest you to keep the driver up-to-date for your hyper-v host .

Hide an error from the application using a servererror trigger?
We have an application designed for an old oracle version which issues some sql which is no more supported in todays database version.
We want to use the application unchanged with a new database server.
Old Server Version: 7.3.4 (still in production...)
New Server Version: 10.2 or 11.2
The application issues an
ALTER SESSION SET OPTIMIZER_GOAL = FIRST_ROWS ;
which results in ORA-01986 and the application dies.
We would like to hide the error 01986 from the application using a trigger:

Error 112: The AIR target doesn't support native extensions
I have been developing an AIR app in Flash Builder. I recently created an ANE (Air Native Extension) for FMOD and linked it with my AIR app. ADT user-unfriendliness aside, I got it working.
When I try to update my Ant build script to package the ANE files with my AIR project, ADT complains:
My-App-Descriptor-Name.xml: error 112: The AIR target doesn't support native extensions.
This comes as a surprise to me, because I've been compiling and developing the AIR app in Flash Builder with the ANE extensions. It also doesn't make sense, because I packaged my ANE with platform specific libraries for multiple platforms (Windows and MacOs), so when the AIR app runs on these platforms, it should work. However, this aside, my main point is:
How the heck does this work in Flash Builder if AIR targets do not support ANE? What is Flash Builder doing, exactly, when I Run or Debug an AIR app with ANEs?

My Desktop Mac won't startup, it turns on to the grey screen flashing question file. I have been able to startup from the snow leopard install cd but once I try to repair within DU the disk never appears in the side panel. The only thing there is "Media"... What can I do? Help!
If Disk Utility cannot see your drive it doesn't look good.
You could try DiskWarrior. It is expensive but can often fix directory structures where DU cannot.
Replacing the drive is also a strong likelihood. If you don't have a fairly recent backup, then it might be worth buying DiskWarrior

In addition to what Jacob suggested, you could:
1) Make or find several suitable trees. Make symbols of them. Place, size and distort as desired.
2) Find a suitable aerial photo (or photos) and try Object > Live Trace to make it vector.
It all depends on the effect (and amount of realism) you are trying to achieve. If you could post a screenshot of something similar to what you want, we could give more directed suggestions.
