Christmas gift - activation

So confused!  I am upgrading my husband's phone as a Christmas gift.  Prior to ordering, I did an online chat and was told it would be no problem to wait and activate the phone after Christmas.  Then, I received the phone and it says I have to accept the new customer agreement within 14 days or I will be charged the full price of the phone.  So, I did an online chat again and was told to just call customer service and tell them it's a gift and it would be no problem.  So, I called customer service and they told me I did not have to activate but I did have to accept the customer agreement within the 14 day window and that I had to log in to my Verizon to do so.  I see nothing in my Verizon that allows me to do that!  After reading the community posts I am seeing different answers to this issue from Verizon employees - some say I don't have to do anything until Christmas because of the extended window, some say that I have to call and accept the customer agreement but don't have to activate yet.  I am so confused and frustrated!  This is why I asked the question Before ordering, but now I am so afraid of being charged full price for this phone if I don't do something now!  Can anyone help clarify?

Just call and accept the customer agreement.
That will acknowledge your acceptance of the plan and contract.
Then activate it the day of Christmas.
Good Luck

  • Bought iPhone 4S as Christmas gift, but got email saying it will be automatically activated now

I bought an iPhone 4S on my AT&T account as an upgrade on one of the lines. It is a Christmas gift. I don't want to activate it until Christmas so the recipient's current iPhone will continue to work. It is my understanding that their current iPhone won't work once the new once is activated. I got an email last night from the "iTunes Store" saying that if I don't activate the phone within the next 5 days, "we will automatically complete your activation." The email goes on to say "this has the potential to disrupt your existing phone service." How can I stop this automatic activation (and deactivation of the current iPhone) from taking place?

Well first of all you dont need a sim card to use any apple product. The only thing you need to do is activate it and create a apple id. But if you want you can give me your email and i can email you instructions since i am a iphone expert/specialist and own .2% of the company because of my stocks.
It's very, very hard to use a GSM phone without a SIM. In fact, it's impossible. This does not lend much credence to your claims to expert status.

  • Buying an iPhone as a Christmas gift

My boss wants to buy a couple iPhones as Christmas gifts this year. One for his wife and one for his son. Is he able to buy the phone and bring it home to connect it (as in on Christmas day they would open it for the first time)? Or will he need to tell them like 3 weeks early, due to having to activate it.

apple must be losing and will be losing even more money this holiday season, since they won't allow people to purchase iphone with out activating it in the store. a lot of people don't want to buy an iphone gift card...gift cards take the fun out of gift giving.
Apple doesn't want all those phone end up on eBay. AT&T and Apple offer gift cards, as the only option you have to give someone an iPhone. But you guys have to be keep in mind few factors: Will iPhones be available when you go to store to pick them up, I don't believe buying a gift card will guarantee you an iPhone, if it's for the new line, will there be a deposit or not, that's an other factor to remember, and of course the upgrade eligibility, will the price be $199/299 or $399/499. I will have to agree that Apple makes it extreemly hard to give an iPhone as a gift, even AT&T people don't think it's a good idea, with gift cards and all. So you guys need to go to AT&T store or I guess Apple store and first find out the answers to all thsose questions, and Apple ofcourse will have better quanities in stock, but check with AT&T about axpected stock quanities (note AT&T can not hold them for anyone).

  • We are contemplating a Mac for a family Christmas gift -we currently use a windows based laptop.  Do the two systems interface? If a child starts his homework on the pc - can he finish it on the Mac? Can they both be hooked up to the same printer?

We are Mac beginners, considerin a Mac for a family Christmas gift.  We currently share one windows based pc. Does anyone use a Mac AND a pc in their household?  Would the two systems interface?  (Can you start your homework on one system, but finish it on another?)  Can they both be hooked up to the same printer?  What advice would you give us as we consider this big purchase?

  • Is it possible to order an iMac specifically with Snow Leopard, in preference to Lion, say, by the end of this year (as a Christmas gift)?

I want to buy an iMac as a Christmas gift this year and wondered if it may be possible to specifically order one with Snow Leopard? By then I imagine all machines available for sale are likely to have Lion pre-loaded, hence my question.
If I could buy one now, I would, as there are many around still with Snow Leopard - but sadly I can't manage it just at the moment.
    Thanks
    Ross

Thanks folks, I realise this is just a user forum of course, I was just wondering if anyone had previous experience with buying a Mac with an older system on it at a time of changeover like this. A friend has just bought a new one from an Apple store this week with Snow Leopard on it - not surprising given the newness of Lion, but I was curious to know if anyone had experience with being given a choice during a system upgrade.
And who knows...maybe Apple do look in at the forums to see what people are asking????
    Thanks

  • Upgrade wife's phone as a Christmas gift

    Hi,
My wife and I have separate VZW accounts, and her account is eligible for the "new every two" discount. I would like to purchase her an upgrade to Droid X as a Christmas gift, and then have her be able ot switch over to her new phone after unwrapping it on Christmas morning. Is there a way I can do this using her "new every two" discount? Or do we need to have a combined account in order for me to do this? I did want to combine our accounts at some point, but I'm afraid if I try to do it between now and Christmas it would make it would tip her off as to what my gift plan is.

Unless you are an authorized manager on her account, you won't be able to buy the phone as an upgrade on her account....unless you get a very cooperative rep. My kids were able to surprise me with an upgrade - but only because one of the store reps was a personal friend and the kids brought me to the store to sign the paperwork for my "gift"!
How about putting a picture of the phone in a card - or making a special trip to the store (pre-arranged with the store ahead of time) -

  • Warantee Time-limit for Christmas Gifts

I just bought an ENVY 5530 as a Christmas gift (i.e. it will not be used until after Christmas). Will the 1 yr warantee start now or on 12/25/2014?
    This question was solved.

Warranty starts on the date of purchase, regardless of it being a gift" --- how does HP know the date of purchase? From copy of invoice?
HP computers have a "born on" date embedded in the computer and filed in a database. This date plus a month or two plus 12 months is the default end of warranty date. If you wish to change that date, you must provide a copy of the invoice or receipt. Please see "Check your warranty status" for the current end of warranty on the computer.

    Dear iTunes
Why wasn't I able to download the twelve days of Christmas gifts? as I downloaded the 12 days of Christmas app or is it now just used as a ploy to sell your iPhone and iPod etc
    most disappointed customer

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Why weren't you able to download each day's gift ? Whilst the 12 Days app required iOS 7 to be able to install it on a device, each day's gift was available to download direct in the iTunes or App Store apps, or via iTunes on your computer.

  • Christmas Gift...Plz help?

I just received the iPod Nano as a christmas gift. I noticed that you have to sync music via iTunes. My question is do I have to download iTunes? I would prefer to download my own music (imported from a CD) for right now. Is there any other way that I can import music from my CDs without having to downloadn iTunes?
      Windows XP

You have to download iTunes. However, you don't have to buy music from iTunes. You can still import your CDs into iTunes, or put music already on your computer into iTunes by converting the format. Hope that helped! If you have any other questions, just ask.

  • Christmas Gifts From Nokia!

    Hi Everyone!
As a christmas gift, Nokia is offering some free applications for download at christmas.nokia.co.uk.
These include some free games and appliactions for the 6230i and 6680. There are also some themes, ringtones and wallpapers available for other models.
Why dont you take a look and get some of this festive fun on your phone?
    Cheers

    An update:
So, it took more than one hour to export then import, but here is what I did:
Importing to the 301, with the Suite, the NBU exported from the 2700.
It kind of works. All the messages are here on the 301, and — contrary to what happened with Bluetooth syncing — they didn't loose their time. However, they are still somewhat in disorder: all the MMSs are before the SMSs, all the imported messages are before the message that were already there and above all else, in Conversations view all the sent messages are before the received messages, making the conversations not looking like conversations at all. Plus, the messages in the Outbox have all lost their addressee info (sent to: unavalaible), while the contacted persons are still displayed in Conversations.
A weird import, then. But the best so far. Not sure how I can do differently.
