Chroma Key object creates only an apha channel when a second object is blended
Hi there,
I try to use the chrome key effect to have a person speaking in front of a background.
So I have 2 objects.
Video 1 = background (jpg-image)
Video 2 = video object edited with chrome key effect.
Layering both levels I see the background with the alpha channel of the second layer on top.
If I decative the first level (Video 1 = jpg image) I can see the videoclip with the transparent backgound.
What am I doing wrong?
Can anybody help me with that issue?

Ultra key is the best choice for chroma keying.
Video with ultra key set on higher layer. In Your Effects Control Tab , the Opacity Settings value should at 100 with the blend mode set to normal.
Ultra Key (UK) set up should be listed beneath the Opacity & Time Remapping settings. Use the color picker in UK to select the green in your source clip.
Then fine tune settings. I like setting UK's output the Alpha when I am adjusting the quality of Key, then back to composite for preview and normal viewing.
You can prep the footage for keying with fast color corrector, boosting the chroma saturation and heightening the contrast(watch out for over bright whites) a little bit.
Still image on lower layer with no keying added and opacity blending on normal.

How do I create only SOAP WSDL bindings when deploying my ESB?
Currently when I use either jDeveloper or the ant deployESBSuitcase task to deploy the ESB that is the entry point to my application I get two bindings in the deployed wsdl. One soap binding that my client will be using and another esb binding. Is it possible to modify the deployment plan to only generate the SOAP binding? Do I need to have the esb binding for an esb that is only used as the entry point to my application? I would prefer to have the wsdl that is exposed to my clients to not have the vendor extensions if possible.
thanksI have experienced the exact same problem. There is no good solution to these poorly designed and overly complex login protocols. After unsuccessfully trying to retrieve my password or change my password I finally set up a new email account, a new Apple ID and a new iTunes account.
I know it is not a good solution, but it worked. -
FCPX 10.1 Chroma Key Strength Slider Crash
Hello fellow users
I will apologize in advance as I am just the IT guy and am not well versed in editing lingo, but here it goes. My chief editor came to me with a problem that he has had since the first FCPX. I will post the crash report below, but I will tell you that I don't think hardware is an issue. I have reproduced this crash on everything from iMac and Mac Minis to Macbook Pros new and old. If it matters they are all rocking NVIDIA cards. We use a green screen chroma key and everything works swimingly until you attempt to adjust the slider for Strength. The keying effects are made in motion and executed in Final Cut. Upon attempting to adjust the slider, FCPX hangs for roughly 10 seconds and then ultimately crashes.
Here is everything I have tried (in no particular order, but I assure you I have been scanning forums for days and troubleshooting has been executed in the correct order)
1. Complete reinstall of Mavericks, also attempted on Mountain Lion
2. Complete removal and reinstall of FCPX, Motion, and Compressor (yes I used that FCP remover tool one time too)
3 Trashed preferences, saved application states, layouts, etc.
4. Rebuilt Key effects from scratch
5. Installed CUDA Drivers
6. Removed and/or reinstalled plugins (Sony XDCAM)
7. Used Disk Warrior to rebuild directory.
8. Repaired Disk Permissions
9. Checked the Activity Monitor during crash for other CPU/GPU intensive processes
10. Deleted used and unused render files in FCPX
11. Set to optimize imported media (problem originally existed without it checked, checking did not fix, but I digress)

In the computers that are used primarily for editing we have NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX with 2 GB VRAM. They have 32 GB RAM. I just got hired on but when the op manager bought these (Late 2012) he basically fully speced them out. 1 TB Fusion Drive (which I would totally get if they are causing the issue) and the 3.4 GHz i7.
I just got in but I have the editor trying things out with my USB 3.0 Wallet drive. Really I am just looking for any improvement in efficiency as what I really want to do in the long term is pull out our old CAT5 cables, wire the building for 10 GBe, and set up an XTarget SAN.
Finally, in terms of video codecs we are using Sony XDCAM HD422, which I assume is ProRes. We are also working with graphics and videos that are not the same such as videos downloaded from the internet if that makes a difference. However the chroma key effect is only being placed on the footage from the camera. -
Photoshop images for chroma key background smaller than frame size??

New to Final Cut Express. Putting together a project with Chroma Key and creating backgrounds in Photoshop. Creating PAL D1/DV 768x576 images. importing into final cut and image will not fit frame. I'm obviously doing something wrong. Any suggestions please? ThanksThose numbers are for square pixel image sizes not for D1 pixels. Use those numbers for a flat image or one without transparency using square pixels.

I have just bought final cut pro - and I am trying out the chroma key for the first time.
However when I apply it to my subject it cuts off the top of her head - just like a poorly adjusted mask. I cant find a way to adjust this yet their is clean difference between the subject and the background and the remainder of the subject seperates cleanly from the green screen.ATrewin wrote:

ABAP Proxy Generation -- Objects can be created only in SAP Package
Hi,
I am trying to generate ABAP Proxies. When i create a proxy for an interface(EMP_DETAILS_MI--outbound in my case), and assign it to package(created by developer), a pop comes up saying "Object can only be created in SAP package".
When i try to continue, it asks for an access key for that particular object.
Enter Key for the Object--R3TR-TABL-CO_EMP_DETAILS_MI When i register this object in servicemarketplace( by basis team) and get the license for this. It asks access key for another object R3TR-TABL-EMP_DETAILS_DT.
When i register this object it asks accesskey for
R3TR-TABL-EMP_DETAILS_DT_DETAILS
I fear if there is amy fault in my procedure. kindly let me know. I work on XI3.0 SP5 server.

So I have an idea brewing in my head and am seeing if it has any possibility of working.
I was wondering if it would be possible to be take in video and have a motion element (a pre-built, constant element) move around the AE composition in relation to an object moving around the real world camera composition of the video - using a chroma key method of say a green screened body part or paper airplane waving around.

I have gone and looked up Matchmoving, but that is not quite what I was looking for. On the Bonjour site (2d3 company) I did find another product, "TacitView" that seems more like what I need. It tracks movement in video.
Hopefully I can better explain myself this time around :)
I want to set up an unmoving camera, have the movement in the video be tracked, and have a graphic map itself to that movement.
A scenario example: A camera is at the end of a hallway. It is recording and I walk into its view. Software detects my movement. A graphic I created then moves side to side as I do.
My ultimate goal was to have that graphic then be projected/displayed back out so It creates a mirror effect. Except instead of your reflection you would see a graphic element moving along with you.
I'm pretty sure after effects wouldn't even be the software here, and it will probably be multiple software's routed together, but it's the only one I know that might even touch this idea.

I'm trying to find the simplest way to remove the background from video footage. I have a green screen but the models outfit is mainly green and blue. I haven't shot the video yet so I'm looking for either a better way to film this or to edit it.
The only alternative to a chroma key is rotoscoping. The new Roto Brush does a good job of removing the pain of roto on some shots, but on others you have to do the tried and true method.

That being said, there are things you can do to make chroma keying a shot like this easier. Lighting is one thing that will make a world of difference.

One specific thing that might help is a really tight junk matte: Creating Super Tight Junk Mattes
Is there any way to change the wardrobe of the model?
What kind of green and blue are we talking? And what sort of fabric?
What does the rest of the model look like? I've known folks to use a red screen (or some other color) when shooting green or blue objects. I mean, if your model isn't human or is wearing a lot of makeup, you could push it to make it far enough from red.
Anyway, like any composite, you're likely to need to use a number of techniques to get it right. -

Is there a function in AE to subtract the background behind an object when I have the background without the object as well? (I want something like a chroma key, just for all without the object)
For example:
I have a video from a game with the character in front. Then I have the same video without the character. Now I want to delete the background so only the character is left on a black background.
I tried all the effects like difference, subtract etc... but they don't work that well.
Is there any effect that can do what I want?

Im using Flash Builder 4 to create a new project. Im really happy with the new connection methods, but Im getting an issue really strange. When i create a new service call that include data in my base, it only works on the first time! When i try to include another value, it simply dont work. I dont receive any error message, alert.... nothing. Is there anybody that had this problem? any idea to fix it?
Explaining the issue in example: I create a Employee service. I generated the employee form, and associated it with the CreateEmployee service. I fill the form with the employee data, and submit. It include the data on my database correctly, but when i try to input another data, the button just dont work. I have to refresh the page to it work again. I tryed to find some answer on the web, but until now i didnt find it. I know that FB4 has been released very recently, so we dont have already a huge knolegment on it.

I haven't worked a lot with the data wizards but one thing I notice is when you set a form to create a record it will produce a very standard template that uses a valueobject of 'name'. Now on the assumption that you have a new record you wish to enter, the first step is not to try and edit any automatically generated primary keys
i.e. a mysql table
ID = int (autoincrement) primary key
Surname = varchar(25)
Name = varchar(25)
DOB = date;
the form template would offer all these fields for updating/creating) - so delete the ID option as you don't want to touch that
Next with the value object once its populated it would possibly update the existing record rather than create a new one so when you enter your create option reseting the value object would be a good idea - names = new Names(); this gives you a clear object for the create record process.
Last thing, if you are displaying the records in a grid you would refetch the records in an eventlistener for the createrecord function.
If you would like a test case for this let me know and i'll put something together.

I'm working on a movie clip, I'm following lesson 13-4 from the PPro classroom in a book, and I want to use the chroma key to key out the sky in the sequence and superimpose an alien sky onto this clip. I've got a still image of an alien sky.
Here's what I did so far: I moved the video clip from Video 1 up to video 3 and the still image to video 1. Currently I'm trying the drag the Chroma Key from the Effects panel onto one of the video tracks as indicated in the lesson, but I keep getting a symbol that is a circle with a slash through it as I try to drag the chroma key onto one of the video tracks.
I'm a bit confused as to where exactly do I place this chroma key in order to key out the sky at this point - in the video 1, video 2 or video 3 tracks and do I place it before the clip starts or after the clip ends?
How can I drag the chroma key onto the appropriate track without getting this "no" symbol?
Also, I'm a bit confused by the instructions from this lesson - first it says to drag the the photos onto the video 1 and the video 2 tracks (but currently I'm working with only 1 photo at this point) and then it says to place the photos after the clip you worked on earlier - what exactly does this mean?

I only have cs3 so dont know about version 2 and what you can or can't do. A lot of people here will probably remember that version though, and help you more.
Also, I have maya and only use that ( and don't use it that much at all because like you I am learning how to use it and it is complicated for my snail - like brain ).
However, in terms of general work flows maybe I can mention a few things that will help.. and just remember I'm talking about maya and cs3.
I also have windows xp and mousey computer, so I can really only work with SD movies. HD makes my computer gasp for breath.
So I set up my projects in maya with the idea that in the end I will export it for SD to go into cs3 with that...
Consequently I have several options on the exports from maya...
a) numbered still images
b) avi movie
etc.
I have found that the numbered still images are nice to work with in cs3.
So I set up the project in cs3 for export to SD, which means even though I'm using numbered stills from maya ( with alpha channel ) I set up my project as SD NTSC 720x480 and choose par to suit my 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio ( usually I use 16:9 with par of 1.2 ).
Then I also choose a video renderer in new project that matches what I'm going to export more or less ( usually lagarith avi ).
In CS3 the alpha channel comes in with the numbered stills and that is where I drop in whatever background images or stuff I want to add ( like what you were saying about using chroma key to make a new sky ... the alpha channel is transparent, so you just add that sky without chroma key necessary ).
wav files are nice to work with in CS3 and I've never had any problems with them.

IMovie 11 with chroma-key and watermarks
I'm new to iMovie. I did attempt to find the answers to the questions below here and on the web. Frankly iMovie so far seems to be pain....
setup for my testing purposes only:
a) borrowed chroma-key movie from the web
b) borrowed m4p from the web
I wanted to test my ability to use chrome-key and watermarks in making a short clip using 3 products...Screenflow 4, iMovie, Final Cut Pro X.
Questions and/or statements:
1) Green-screen:
Screenflow and Final Cut took about 5-10 minutes with zero knowledge of either...Over an hour with with iMovie and never could make it work.
2) Watermark:
Aganin 5-10 minutes with Screenflow and Final Cut, with iMove it looks like I could have either keying or watermark, but not both.
Screenflow is SUPER simple and cheep (on sale today for $70), I've seem it 50% off...
Final Cut is OUTSTANDING but super costly for what I wanted to do....Really a great product.
Anyway, here I am with a iMovie and so far it looks like it isn't a fit for me...Anyone know if a way to tweek it to make both chroma-key and watermarking work? I guessing it's just me, but the others seemed so simple.
Attached are screen copies of each...in order below are iMovie, Final Cut Pro X, and the output of Screenflow....

Thanks for any helpfull hints...iMovie is designed with a very forgiving green screen feature so you can hang a green bedsheet on a wall and get a decent effect. It is designed for people making home movies. Perhaps for this reason, if you have a perfect green key in iMovie, then iMovie might think you used the green on purpose. It expects some variation. When people are doing computer generated graphics, or creating a green background with Photoshop or Keynote or Powerpoint, I suggest using a gradient between close shades of green, rather than a monochromatic green.
If you need sophisticated control of your keying, get FCPX. I am not familiar with Screenflow.
Also, iMovie does all rendering in one pass. This means it cannot do effects that require a render on top of a render. Say you want a greenscreen effect with a watermark on top. That is two renders. This is easy in Final Cut Pro, but not possible in iMovie without jumping through some hoops.
Also for this reason, longer movies should be done in FCPX. What for iMovie would be an immense job requiring huge resources, FCPX can do by chopping it up into bitesize pieces. -
Multicam editing multiple chroma key background

I'm shooting and editing interviews with 3 cameras with a Chroma Key green screen.
Cam 1 - Wide angle shot, showing both the interviewer and the guest.
Cam 2 - The interviewer
Cam 3 - The guest
Now I need to do a multicam sync based on audio.
Then I have applied keyer effect to each and gets perfect chroma keying for each camera and had no problem editing using Angle Viewer.
Now my problem is ALL the backgrounds in Cam 1,2,3 are the same. It looks kind of weird.
How do I sync different background to each of the Camera with Chroma keyer and Multicam editing?

The original footage is meaningless. You've said you got the clips after the key was pulled so you're looking at a self-contained movie with an alpha channel.

AVCHD Sony footage has lines in chroma key in FCP
My footage shot on with Sony Nex-fs700 will not chroma key with placing blue vertical lines in the final key. The line appear only after I render. My sequence settings match my footage. Can anybody help.
StinsonI shot in 1080 24p FX and I set the sequence to 24 fps and I was getting the vertical lines, flicker and lag in the image with any quick moments. So I created a new sequence and placed a test clip on the timeline and FCP asked if I wanted match my clip to the sequnce and I said no. I applied the color smoothing 4:2:2 and chroma key filters and played the clip and it was fine but still with the vertical lines. I then removed the color smothing 4:2:2 filter and no vertical lines. Still might send you a short clip just for kicks.
Yes I have After Effects and Motion and I will give them a try when I finish this project.
