  • Create pdf chrome extension problems

    My os is Win 8.1
My product is Acrobat XI with all current updates as of 11-25-2013
I use the lastest version of Chrome browser
I have used the pdf extension on the browser at least 7 times.
    1st time nothing happened
    2nd time it worked perfectly
3rd through 6th time it did nothing what soever.
I went into Chrome and looked at the settings. It was enabled.
I rebooted my computer and tried a 7th time which resulted in nothing happening.
I openned Chrome and deleted this extension thinking I would browse Chrome extensions and re install.
I was not able to find this extension and started reading in the Acrobat forums.
I did as suggested and closed Chrome and open Acrobat and click repair.
This resulted in no change what so ever. I have also noticed that the disscussions I read the folks with
this same issue have not been able to resolve the problem.
I believe in Acrobat and enjoy the use of it. This chrome browser extension function was great the one time it worked for me.
I am open for help....now that I can't even make the extension show up on my brower again.
    Thanks,
    Jerry

    Hi Jerry,

  • Lightbox problem

    Hi
Im using a lightbox on a site.
And it launches in a new window everytime! really annoying. i
didnt know where to post this problem.
I have checked all the links in the javascript and css and
    they all work.
    any ideas?

I don't think you will be able to use lightbox successfully
    on an area tag.

  • Mac OS Lion CS 5.5 "Pre-Chrome" Install Problem / Solution!

After hours and days of frustration surrounding what should have been a very simple update from CS5 to CS5.5 on Mac OSX Lion (the latest version), I finally found a solution that makes perfect sense, and acutally works.
    Here's my brief rant:
Adobe - you seriously need to work on your Tech Support. I've been a customer since Photoshop 2.0 and this is no bueno. Having someone tell me to create an Admin user account on my system with username "test" and "no password" is not helpful nor a good idea. Suggesting that I open up all my permissions to  777 also not a good idea. You need to seriously review your Tech Support team's scripts. Either way neither of these soltuions worked. Anyways I am done with my rant as I want this article to be HELPFUL TO PEOPLE who are super frustrated like me.
    Here's what I discovered:
Here's the deal - if you upgrade to lion recently, you probably had an older version of a CS product on your computer. My guess is that when you migrated over some permissions got screwed up and the installer couldn't overrride the correct files it needs to because they are locked under a different user account (fair enough adobe, sounds more like Apple's problem). A friend suggested doing a hard reformat and reinstalling lion fresh via USB drive, probably a good idea but who's got the time?
So anyways, I kept getting a "pre-chrome" error in the debug output and kept seeing the "Accept Terms & Conditions" window no matter how many times I re-installed, wiped my files etc. Uber lame.
The solution turned out to be 'duh' simple from my PC user co-worker "Why don't you just install it under root access?" Ok, for those of you who don't know what root means, it basically just is the account who is authorized to write over all other user accounts. Apple turns this off by default because most people never need to user it. Unless you come across something like this...
    Steps:
    1. Uninstall anything you got going with CS, the more the better - you're going to reinstall it again anyways (just keep your serials around).
    2. Consider downloading the CS Cleaner product that Adobe offers and wipe it all down (probably not required but can't hurt).
    3. Follow these instructions on your Admin account to enable root temporarily: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1528 (BTW the Edit one is hard to find, they mean the acutal Edit menu on the top of the screen).
    4. Install your CS 5.5.
    5. This one is IMPORTANT - when it asks you to authenticate use your ROOT login and password, not your normal one. This grants the installer the abililty to write over other files.
    6. Finish the install, check it out. If it worked you probably want to de-activate the root login for safety's sake.

gdoddsdesign thank you for the great tips I am sure this will help other users within the forum.  You may still want to keep an eye on your administrator group permissions.  If you had to go to root to resolve the issue, and even the newly created User account had compromised permissions, then there could still be some problems out there.
Many times though once software is installed under a root user it will continue to work without any additional modifications needed on the administrator account.
I also really like the tip about disabling root user at the end btw.   Often users and technicians get so excited that the issue is solved they can forget this step.

  • FF4 & 5 refuse to load YouTube log-in page. Earlier versions, no problem, IE & Chrome no problem. What got changed?

Main YouTube screen (http://www.youtube.com/) has a sign-in link at the upper right, should go to the screen for that. Starting with FF4, I get a page redirect warning, but hitting "Allow" does nothing. FF jumps instantly back to the same YouTube starting screen. I have no trouble with this in IE nor in Chrome, nor was it a problem with FF prior to version 4. What's different here, and is there a fix?

    *** SOLVED *** !!!
    Got it!
I have spent *days* on this, because it just bugged me so much!
FOund it by searching and reading all the Mozilla FIrefox support forums.
Problem was an old hard-coded fix that I put into my HOSTS file, on my Windows XP, SP3 machine. Specifically, I had experienced hang issues with a site called "i.ytimg.com", which I believe is the static cache for Google/Youtube stuff. I tracked this error down to failures of security certificates, but confirmed my security cert store was isometric between my machine cluster (they were all the damn same!)
So, I had put two lines in the HOSTS file, to hard-code an IP address so that Google-youtube pages would not hang up waiting for "i.ytimg.com"
Well, of course, Google/Youtube is now using different locations, or akami servers or some damn thing...
The fix just involved removing these two hard-coded lines from my HOSTS file. I just commented the old fix out, and now everything works.
    <pre>
    # --- two lines added to fix i.ytimg.com hang problem
    # 74.125.162.39 static.cache.l.google.com s.ytimg.com
    # 74.125.162.39 static.cache.l.google.com i.ytimg.com
    </pre>
(The # symbol is used to make a comment in hosts file... )
On Windows XP, XP3, the "hosts" file is typically located in:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
If you are having goofy problems with some youtube/google webpages
not rendering, or generating SSL (bad_certificate) errors, check your
"hosts" file, and ensure no ip redirection has been slotted in there
    from a while back.
    Hope this helps others...

  • Edge Animate and Chrome Cache Problem

Strang thing with Edge Animate in Chrome on a Mac or PC. You can not reload it. It plays the first time you go to site, but if you hit refresh or try going back to the page, it will not relaod. I have to delete the cache in order for it to Play again.

Any news? I have the same problem with my animation... it has embedded audio too.
My link: Sombras en las estrellas
It works fine in Safari and Firefox, but only displays the first time in Chrome.
    I'd appreciate some help!!

  • 3D Chrome Library problems

Here's my scenario. It's probably really simple but i'm quite
new to Director and 3D with the Chrome Library.
This is a test piece which preceeds my next assignment for
    University.
Using Director MX 2004 v10.1 and the latest Chrome Library
    from this website.
    I have a simple 3DSMAX phone model with a body, a screen,
three buttons and a bounding box surrounding the screen and body,
their names in max are phoneBody, screen, button01, button02,
    button03 and boundingBox respectively.
I added my 3d sprite to the screen and turned dts off and
background transparency on. I add a change camera chrome library
behaviour to the sprite to change to "frontCamera" (there are three
cameras, frontCamera, leftCamera and perspectiveCamera). I left cut
and constant speed unchecked the default interpolation value.
I then added a "3D Rollover Model UI" to the sprite and the
settings are as follows, Model : Button01, Display hand : yes, no
highlight, added to W3D sprite 1 as its the only 3D sprite on the
stage and in the movie, added to behaviour 6 (this is definitely
correct!), mouse event #press and handlerCall : beginSprite() (also
tried beginSprite(). with a full stop after!).
When i try and run the movie the change camera behaviour
starts automatically and pans to the frontCamera view. When i click
on the button that the UI event was added to i get this error
"Script error: Value out of range pCamera = pMember.camera(pCamera)
    -2147219496"
Any help that anyone could give in discovering the reasoning
behind all this heartache will be incredibly appreciated. Student
on a deadline here. Please help!!
    Thanks
    Steve

  • Chroma Key problems with Final Cut Express 4

I had no problems with the Chroma Key in Final Cut Express 4 before. It was working perfectly fine untill I brought anther Macbook Pro last year in August. I installed it on the new computer and then the Chroma Key didn't work. Final Cut opens up and the other filters work fine but I can't get the chroma key to work. Any possible reasons?

I am experiencing an interseting problem with Final Cut Express on OSX Lion.  I teach in a Mac Lab at my school.  Today I was trying to teach Chroma Keying- which I have been doing for years - but for some reason the color selector would just not key out anything.   I tried it on four or five different machines, and it turns out that ONLY my machines that were running OSX Leopard would allow the Chroma Key to function.  I have two machines running Lion and the Chroma Key would not work on EITHER of them.  I followed the exact same steps, and all of the settings were identical.  The hardware was also the exact same package from machine to machine.  I feel like there must be an issue with OSX Lion that is breaking the Chroma Key filter.  Can anyone help?

  • Google Chrome layer problems

My animation works well in Firefox, Safari, IE, but only Chrome there is one symbol i cannot see. I have a nested symbol figure:
    figure
    figure > head-container
    figure > head-container > brows
    figure > head-container > eyes
    figure > head-container > nose
    figure > head-container > mouth
    figure > head-container > head-blank
    figure > head-container > hair
In Chrome i can see the symbols "brows", "nose" and "mouth" over the symbol "head-blank". Only the "eyes" are behind the "head-blank".
There is no z-index. And the Problem is show only in Chrome.

OK - looking at your file, there is something I noticed that could be the problem. When you create a symbol, sometimes you move  things around, change the size, etc... and some of these are recorded on the timeline by adding for example left for your object. When you are done with the object, even if you do not move it left at all in your animation, the property is still there. I think it is better to go ahead and delete those unecessary lines.
For example, I was using drag n drop a long time ago and my object would moved for what seemed to be no reason. Well actually there was a reason - they x and y position properties were added when I constructed the animation but there were not needed. However the draggable was actually using these for its starting points.
Also, and this might be necessary for your animation, but I also noted that the boundaries for each of your symbols are much larger than your elements.
I am not sure any of this is relevant but since my above mentioned experience,  I always delete the property lines that are not needed and I keep the boundaries of my elements to the minmum.
Last, I also noticed that some of your elements origins are outside of the drawing. These also could cause a problem.
If any of these are causing the disappearance of your eyes, I am not sure but it is possible. Since I am not exaclty sure what you are going to do with the animation and how, you might have your reasons for having things this way.
I suppose you imported your animation from fireworks.

    Hi babypalms,
I understand Chrome is not working the way you would like it to. Without knowing too much about your specific situation, I would suggest the following link, Chrome Known Issues. Perhaps one of the sections on this page will be of use to you. Have a wonderful day.

  • New super router now shoutcast not working in firefox but does in chrome. Problem?

Updated my connection to Fibre so have new super router (still ADSL I think). Now my Internet access - no problem with all my other sites. Shoutcast displays OK but no sound, analyzer shows flat line. No other changes have been done on computer. What can be the problem?
    cheers Omhie

    Hi omhie2,
It is possible to check how Firefox connects to the internet: [[Advanced settings for accessibility, browsing, system defaults, network, updates, and encryption]] specifically [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/advanced-settings-browsing-network-updates-encryption#w_network-tab this section] will help troubleshoot the network that may not be detected.
After trying each one, doe Firefox connect to the new connection?

  • Lightbox problem on live site

Hi, I have created a website featuring a lightbox on several pages.  This works fine when I preview them, but isn't working on the live website - can anyone help?
here's the link to a temporary page: http://www.vdubbers.co.uk/hoodies.html
    Thanks.

Again, case may be an issue. Some servers will put all folders to lower case, which is why it is a good idea not to use upper case in your local root folder names so they don't throw things off when they are put to a server which may change them.
I get this error when trying to access the large image:
The requested URL /Images/LBoxLarge/HUD1B.jpg was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
That comes from either a missing file (which you have confirmed is NOT the case) or a bad file name/path name (folder or file name has been
modified on putting it to the server)

  • LightBox problem - Close image  too big

Is anyone here familiar with LightBox image show, please?
They have a image show, without the usual Windows icons and blue
frame. Have tried all sorts, but can't get it working. As there is
no documentation with the software, am rather lost...

    TC2112:
I have already done as you suggested above, before I posted
the code, which got cut-off at right margin, hence you did not see
the complete line. So here is a re-post ot it. But it still does
not work. The proper image image shows in a new blank window, at
    0,0
    Any suggestions, please?
