  • Google Cloud Print setup - Unable to parse printer capabilities

I'm trying to add my CP1525nw to Google Cloud Print as a Cloud printer, and not as a LOCAL printer, however each time I add my eprint email I get the following message; "Unable to parse printer capabilities"  - I've attempted both private and public use for eprint settings with no such luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I've tried reseting the email with no luck...
    EDIT - 04/01/11:
I chatted with HP support and although the representative was extremely curteous, they could not help me.  The support agent assured me the issue would be taken to the next level and looked at so hopefully we can have a resolution here shortly.
    EDIT - 04/04/11:
Received a response from the original HP rep I chatted with online.  In summary, he/she was not able to find a solution and states the issue will be sent up to HP's highest level of technical support....  We shall see.
    EDIT - 05/25/11:
After 2 months of waiting, HP has fixed the issue.  Remember to update to the latest firmware and check all settings before proceeding.

well, when I use google chrome to set up cloud print, it does add my HP1525nw to my google cloud print, but ONLY THE LOCAL printer. In other words, google cloud print can add both local printers and cloud enabled printers. It does add the local printers, and since while on my home network, the HP laser is a local printer, it grabs that. But it still won't allow me to add it as a cloud printer.
The problem with being connected as a local printer is that my notebook has to be on and it has to be on my local network in order for me to print to the printer through the cloud (like using my ipod).
The point of the HP printer being added as a direct cloud printer is so it can be printed to as a stand alone printer, even if my local computer is not on, because it is connected to my router wirelessly and not dependent on any local computer.
and that is where it is failing. Trying to add the printer as a CLOUD printer does not work (the same problem everyone else here is having)

  • HP - Officejet 100 Wireless Printer Setup with Chromebook

I am considering on purchasing this printer to use in my dorm. I have an HP Chromebook 14 and wanted to know how to connect it to the printer. Does it just work with bluetooth straight out of the box after I insert my wifi settings? DO i just turn on Bluetooth and send the files? I don't have a desktop to install the driver, like most normal printers would require,  so I am relying on Google Cloud Print and Bluetooth printing. There is no way to install a driver on my Chomebook because that is not how the are made to work. Is there any other way to set it up without have to install any drivers? Or will it just work once I connect it to either wifi or Bluetooth? Any help is helpful.

    Hi,
Your printer isn't web enabled so may may not be able to setup google cloud print via blue tooth.
There is a  HP 1200w NFC/ Wireless Mobile Print accessory for your OJ100 mobile printer to enable it to support wifi printing:
Here's the link that shows how to set up your OJ100 with the HP 1200w:

  • Chromebook won't print last page (Google Cloud Print)

I have an MF6160dw. When I print from my Chromebook, the printer will print everything but the last page. The printer shows an error.

Hi mlourie. I will be able to assist you. The #822 error usually indicates an issue with the format of an image file. So that I can best assist you, I would like to ask a few questions: 1. Are you printing using the Google Cloud Print function or from the Google Remote Desktop? 2. Is it just one document that you are experiencing the issue with? 3. If it is one document, which format is the document saved in, and is the last page saved in a different format? I look forward to your reply. Should you need immediate assistance, please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).

    Hello dabbourb,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I understand that you are able to print from your desktop to your Photosmart D110a printer but not your Chromebook.
I am presuming that you have already connected your printer to your wireless network.  If you haven’t please follow the steps in the Installing the Printer Software for a Wireless Network Connection document.  Please click on the operating system of your desktop and follow the steps in the order presented.
When the printer is connected to your wireless network, we need to setup the ePrint feature of the printer before connecting it to Google Cloud Print.  To start please Get the Printer Claim Code.  Once you have the web services information sheet, please Set Up a Custom Email Address for ePrint.
Now let’s connect the printer with Google Cloud Print.  I have included the Setting Up and Using Your HP ePrint-Capable Printer with a Chromebook document.  I’ve also included Google’s document for setting up Cloud-Ready Printers.  Once you have the printer connected to Google Cloud Print please follow the steps in Google’s Print a page document to start printing.

  • Setting Up Google Chrome Features for Cloud Printing from an Android Device

These steps are organized for optimal setup procedure and to decrease the time it would take to set this option up from start to finish. This is a lengthy process and is more for possibly troubleshooting issues that may arise during the setup of Google Chrome's Cloud Print feature. However, if you have an Android phone or tablet and are interested in being able to print virtually anything at anytime from anywhere from your phone to any brand of printer regardless of setup, there is a way. And this is how:
Open/Install Google Chrome onto a computer
Sign in with personal email to access the same Google Chrome account you intent to print from
Download Google Drive as an external storage you can access from anywhere
Open Google Chrome Settings (three lines stacked on top of each other)
Scroll down to the bottom of settings and click "Advanced Settings"
"Sign in/add printers/manage printers" are three of the print options you may see here
Follow this link for information on:
adding a classic printer to this option:  https://support.google.com/cloudprint/answer/1686197?rd=1
how to add an HP ePrint email:  https://www.google.com/cloudprint/learn/printers.html#info-hp
on registering the email of that printer (HP registration page):   https://www.google.com/cloudprint/learn/setup-hp.html
    8.  add the printer to this section of Google Chrome
    9.  at the bottom of the page you will see "Send a test page/print test page" (that will be useful later)
    10. at the top of this page is the option to share this printer with other Google Chrome users
    11. Open Google Drive from www.google.com (likely displayed at the top of the webpage)
Can create a new document of any file type, upload, draw, etc
Leave computer on if intending to print from off the network or another location
The next steps are in regards to printing from a mobile device:
    Install/open Cloud Print App
Add personal email account associated with Google Chrome
Select printer management if on the same network as the printer
Select Web tab and Google Drive if not on the same home network
Find earlier test page in Google Drive Documents
To locate other documents one could find many applications within this app or
In another app like Documents To Go, you can select to send previously saved documents (like one might send an email on the Android) to the Cloud Print app to open, view, and print
Print Test Document – this function means the printer has officially been added now
In Google Drive, but within the Cloud Print app, you can select the printer that was added to this network or from "Printer Management Options."
There are many ways to determine if your printer is still connected (offline, ready, etc.) but after confirmation that the printer is available, print jobs rest in the print queue until the printer receives the command to print.  Then the documents are stored and available for reprinting.
Converts most print jobs to .pdf but prints most file formats from other applications as well
    In Printer Management advanced settings
You can add a contact from the phone to use this printer
    Set as default
See an extensive page of setup and printing options
*After a test print while the computer was off the document did not print and the printer appeared offline until approx. 4 min after computer was rebooted, then the document printed automatically.
Also if a document does not print, the troubleshooting guide on the phone suggested logging out of Google Chrome Cloud Print but I was unable to find that option it was suggesting (unable to log out)
To completely finish adding any additional Google Chrome accounts that wish to share this printer using the suggestion in step 10, you must log into the email that was added and select ADD PRINTER from within the email that was sent for the confirmation and follow the link and instructions on how to do this from your email.
Google Chrome and Google Drive support Windows, MAC, and Linux
You can also change share options, privacy settings, etc. but if you choose to go with the two-step verification process, you may not be able to add your Google Chrome email account to the app without a 16 digit code generated within Google Chrome Privacy Settings for your app (not recommended)
Now you have the option to also email any document to either the Cloud Print App or HP ePrint from the phone/tablet without actually accessing the app first.  Locate the document, press the menu button for more options, select "Send to" and a list of available apps will appear.  Choosing Cloud Print or HP ePrint sends the document or photo directly to the "print" function within the apps, instead of opening the app first and then searching for what it is you want to print.

This document is to assist others in understanding and troubleshooting Cloud Print. This took me many hours to get setup, troubleshoot, and prepare a document that is simple and easy to understand. These are literally step-by-step instructions on how you could be able to print from any Android device to any printer connected to a computer that has Google Chrome.  You would then be able to use the Cloud Print App without having to use HP ePrint to print to any printer connected to any computer (USB or wireless) basically allowing you to print virtually anything from your Android.

  • EPrint / cloud print issue.

    Hi,
I have 3 HP Officejet Pro 8600 + printers running on different network setups at 3 different locations.
When I try to print from remote locations using Google Cloud Print, it doesn't work.
When I login to HP eprint manager (https://www.hpconnected.com/us/en/#devices/) the printers are each listed as "Online - Problem with Printer". When I select "Problem with Printer" I receive the following error.
An unspecified problem was reported. Please check your printer. See printer front panel for information on resolving this condition
This is really beginning to frustrate me.
So that you are also aware, the problem occurs on devices including:
my Macbook Pro (OS X v10.9.3 - latest at this time) using Chrome (v35.0.1916.153 - latest at this time).
my iPad (iOS 7.1.1 - latest at this time) using Chrome (v35.0.1916.38 - latest at this time).
my Fiancee's iPad (iOS 7.1.1 - latest at this time) using Chrome (v35.0.1916.38 - latest at this time).
The devices are connected to the following modem/routers at the 3 different locations:
    Netgear DGND3700v2 (with latest software)
Netgear DGN2200v3 (with latest software); and
D-Link DSL-2890AL (with the latest software)
And just so we are absolutely aware, my Xerox at the office works perfectly using cloud print!
    Thanks.

    Hi masinij,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.
HP Connected sometimes gives a false report that there is an unspecified problem with the printer. HP has been able to reproduce the error.  If there was a true error, then the message would point to the problem (low on ink, out of paper, etc). The unspecified error message will not stop you from using ePrint and Google Cloud Print.
Are you able to send an email to each of the printers ePrint email address and have it print?  If it doesn’t print, what does your HP connected account say about the failed print job?  I’ve included the Learn About Print History in HP Connected for reference.
If the email prints successfully, that would indicate that ePrint is working.  I have included Google’s Cloud Print Help section.  It has a section titled “Troubleshooting Google Cloud Print”.

  • Added HP ePrint printer to Cloud Print so why do I still need my PC running?

I added the email address of my HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf Multifunction Printer to Cloud Print, so why do I need to have my PC running when I print to it?  It doesn't seem to work if the PC isn't on.

I'm sorry to hear you are encountering difficulties when trying to print via Cloud Print. I'm presuming that you mean Google Cloud Print.
To better understand the issue would you please provide me with some further information:
    1) How is your printer setup (USB cable, Ethernet, or wirelessly)?
    2) What operating system are you running?
    3) What type of device are you trying to print from when the computer is off?

    thanks,

    Hello kanataorganics,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see that when you use ePrint, via Google Cloud printing, the documents are printed two-sided. Are you using a computer, mobile device, Chromebook, etc, to access the printer?
If you print from a computer, for example, not using Google Cloud print or ePrint, does it print two-sided on its own?
You can check the Eco setting on the printer's front panel to ensure that the two-sided options are set to "Off".
Check to make sure the printer has the most recent updates installed on the printer, Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates.

try power cycling the printer, your device and router - don't forget to quit out of the apps on the device - double tap home - hold finger down on any app on the grey bar that pops up until a red minus symbol appears and then tap the red minus symbol to close them out
if that doesn't work and it happened after power cycling the printer - you may have to re-setup your printer - check out airprint basics on the apple support page
