Chrony does not do anything anymore
Since one of the latest updates the rtcfile /var/lib/chrony/rtc directive and the rtconutc directive in the /etc/chrony.conf were commented out.
When trying to start chrony.service with this directives enabled it fails to start (code=exited, status=1/FAILURE).
Without this directives chrony just do nothing at all:

The chrony faqs says:
9.3. I just keep getting the '513 RTC driver not running' message
For the real time clock support to work, you need the following three things:
* a kernel that is supported (e.g. 2.2 onwards)
* enhanced RTC support compiled into the kernel
* an 'rtcfile' directive in your chrony.conf file.
which leads to the problem that chrony will fail to start.
Was this 'enhanced RTC support' removed from kernel?
How can I get it back?

This doesn't answer your question whatsoever, but in the past I have tried to use chrony, and it was a real PITA. So I went back to using ntpd, which is simple, works well, and seems to handle intermittent internet connections just fine.

Vibe Duo Headset clicker does not control *anything* anymore on 3Gs
I have spoken to several people on the internet in relation to this problem.
The iPhone 3Gs has been an awesome experience thus far, except for one minor (not minor for me, though...) issue.
My Vibe Duo earphones do not work with the 3Gs. That is to say, I can hear. And people can hear me using the mic. But the clicker does not control anything anymore on the 3Gs. Not sure what changed, but I hope it's a bug and is fixed soon?

My itunes does not play anything anymore
Itunes won't play anything anymore, wether it is in the cloud, from the store or even from my computer. It shows the song in the window but no sound and the timer does not move from 0:00

It seems like iTunes on your Mac is not playing songs at all, and the play counter is stuck at 0:00.

Since Apple does not sell Leopard anymore is there anything wrong with just installing Snow Leopard?
It doesn't matter what marketing says. It matters what the Software License Agreement states, which is this:
2. Permitted License Uses and Restrictions.
A. Single Use License. Subject to the terms and conditions of this License, unless you have purchased a Family Pack or Upgrade license for the Apple Software,you are granted a limited non-exclusive license to install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-branded computer at a time. Youagree not to install, use or run the Apple Software on any non-Apple-branded computer, or to enable others to do so. This License does not allow the AppleSoftware to exist on more than one computer at a time, and you may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be used by multiplecomputers at the same time.
B. Family Pack License. If you have purchased a Family Pack license, then subject to the terms and conditions of this License, you are granted a limited non-exclusive license to install, use and run one (1) copy of the Apple Software on up to a maximum of five (5) Apple-branded computers at a time as long as thosecomputers are located in the same household and used by persons who occupy that same household. The only license which requires Leopard installed is the Leopard Upgrade License. Nobody sells these.
If you go to the Apple Store and select the Snow Leopard product, there are two options to purchase Snow Leopard, Single User and Family Pack. There is no option to purchase a Leopard Upgrade. Therefore, there is no requirement to have Leopard installed per 2.A. and 2.B. above. -
IPhone black screen does not show anything, but I can hear that the device works. I hear the lock open the screen and hear the iPod but the screen remains black!!
It's happened to me before as well. Try holding both lock(top right) and home buttons simultaneously until u see a slight flash of wight then just reboot it normally. If that doesn't work try restoring your device from itunes

Hi... I would like to purchase a Tablet Sony Xperia Z 2 10.1 (the last one of the Z series) and I was told that Adobe does not support Sony anymore.... I need to be able to open and read Adobe PDF files and I would like to know if this tablet can still use Flash Player...
Is there anyo who can help me with this? I asked in the shop and I was told "yes of course" , but when I contacted Sony directly I was advised to check with Adobe as apparently in the recent months Adobe and Sony haven't been getting along anymore...You may be mixing up two entirely different Adobe products.
1. Adobe Flash Player. Needed to view web pages designed with Flash. Not needed to view PDF files. Not available for Android (not just Sony).
2. Adobe Reader. Reads PDF files. However, the Android can also read most PDF files without needing Adobe Reader. -

from the information you provided i can't tell if it is a hardware problem or a software problem. I do have an idea though, try to press your home button and lock button at the same time.

I have my iphone4 activated and working since 3days, i purchased it from ebay with 1year warranty, when i check the serial number from Apple store at Bangalore Forum mall, they say that it does not show anything and 'OUT OF WARRANTY'.
Now i have a problem in it, all icons just shake and system hangs, needs restarting.You need to go back to the person you bought it from. Sounds like they may have sold you phone that is not as described.

Backlight does not turn on anymore Satellite M70-147

The backlight of my M-series M70-147 does not turn on anymore.
I first noticed this when awakening the laptop from standby or hibernation mode.
At first I thought the screen was not working anymore, but when I looked closely I could still make out the icons on the desktop vaguely. So at first I rebooted the laptop and then most of the times the backlight would turn on and stay on.
But now it does not do that anymore, not even when I close the screen (to force standby mode) and then open it again, the backlight won't turn on.
I also looked at other forums and topics what the cause might be, a broken backlight or a faulty power inverter.
So can anybody with the symptons described tell me what the cause might be?
I'm pretty sure nothing is wrong with the graphics card because when I hooked on my laptop to my dads LCD monitor it just displayed the desktop of my laptop on the LCD monitor. Also the first time I did this after pressing Fn-F5 a few times the screen of my laptop would come on some times. But now it does not do that anymore.
So can anybody with the symptons described tell me what the cause might be?

For me it looks like a faulty FL inverter.
The FL inverter is a small part behind the display frame and it controls the backlight.
Usually the external display should work properly because the FL inverter affects the internal display only...
However, the issue can be solved only by replacement of this part.
I recommend contacting the Toshiba ASP in your country to get this part replaced -
The "Awesome Bar" is not working. It does not recall anything from the Bookmarks
Just updated to new Firefox. In the past, when I would start to type a site in the address bar firefox would complete it as it was already in my bookmarks. But now it does not do anything. It just sits there waiting for me to complete the address. I could start to type Netf and it automatically finish Netflix.com
Why is this happening. Also, for the first couple days of the new version I had to go back into Tools, Options and reset things at least 3 or 4 times before they would finally stay the way I wanted them.
I would tell it Never Remember History and after while I would look and it would say, Remember History. I wanted a Blank Start page, and it kept changing it. It's okay now but the Awesome Bar is not working at all.Do your bookmarks show up in the auto-suggest drop-down list?

Whenever I open the editor in Photoshop Elements 12 it does not work. When I try to click open in the application it does not do anything. None of the buttons work. When I open a photo using file at the top it opens but I cannot edit it or use any of the features on the left side.

Thanks i think I got it working of a fashion.
Except the replace colour, does not seem to end up with the colour I picked using the picker tool. Its as though it hads not replaced the colour but blended in the desired colour with the old incorrect colour!
Buy trial and error picking not the right colour but close - which when mixed with the existing colour is close.

The scenario is:- say a blonded mainly tanned model a high cut [at the hips] corsette style basque, with an ultra low bra line.
Our dear model, has just come back from St Barts with a fabulous Tan, and equally striking bold Tan lines!.
So we have great tanned legs, then the 'porcelain white band' where her swimsuit was.
Likewise we have a tanned face, and arms, shoulders etc and a great tan on the top of the cleavage, then it stops, white band to the top of the ultralow cut bra line of the basque.
She must have lived in like the most conservative bikini on the planet [50's style], for 2 weeks!
Had she had a normal skimpy bikini on, no problem!
If i don't solve it, she will get fired!

Does anybody know why my ipod touch 3rd generations screen does not show anything? The screen is all black constantly. When I try to synchronise my ipod with my iTunes library it comes up with a message saying " iTunes could not back up the ipod because a session could not be started with the ipod. Web.show_document does not open browser anymore
We upgraded our production database over the weekend from 10g to 11g. When it was still 10g, our Forms application used to open a PDF embedded in IE. After moving to 11g, it does not open IE anymore and shows no error messages. Clicking the button with the web.show_document command does nothing. Our test database is also 11g but does not have this problem. What could have gotten wrong?
I can't explain why it seems to started failing all of a sudden. We often hear comments like this only to later discover that either someone else made changes of which you are unaware or possbily a software update occurred automatically. For example, the JRE version may have been auto-updated.
As for recoding in an alternative fashion, it will be difficult for me to say specifically because I don't know the app nor do I know your needs. The biggest, and it isn't all that big, deal will be to identify from where the pdf being opened comes from. In other words, does it already exist on the client machine or is it downloaded to the client from the/a server? Also important to know is whether or not the file name is known or not.
So, if you want to change the code, first figure out how you want the application to complete the task. Here are my suggestions:
Suggestion 1.
<blockquote>If the file (pdf in your case) originally resides on a remote server, then leave it there. The document can be opened using a direct url to the file on the remote server. For example:
