Hi All,
I want to know about the following adapters in detail? can anyone suggest me some weblogs for these adapters?
What adpater is used while communicationg with Siebel System and any weblogs then send it to me?

CIDX Adapter :
The CIDX adapter enables the execution of business transactions between CIDX trading partners based on Chem eStandards specifications.
The adapter implements the transport, packaging, and routing of CIDX business messages and signals as defined in the Chem eStandards envelope and security specifications (based on RNIF 1.1 specifications; for more information, see cidx.org).
Transport protocols to be used are HTTPS and HTTP. With HTTPS, client authentication is possible for sender party and receiver party.
The adapter supports the security functions of the RNIF 1.1 business transaction dialog: authentication, authorization, and non-repudiation. Confidentiality should be ensured by using transport-level encryption, for example, HTTPS.

  • Using JCA FTP and File Adapters to transfer files as attachments

I am trying to develop a flow that picks a file up using the JCA FTP adapter and writes it using the JCA File Adapter. I can get this to work using opaqeElement but the issue I have is that the files that will be transferred are regularly very large > 1 GB and using the opaqueElement simply results in a OutOfMemoryException.
Reading the Adapter documentation it seems that Reading/Writing file as an attachment may be an answer. I therefore did the following.
. Created FTP Read and File Write adapters in JDeveloper
. Inmported this in to OEPE
. Created Proxy Service and Business Service and wired them together
The problem i am having is that even though there is no error and the file is being read on the FTP server, the resulting file only contains that attachment details, the file is not a copy of the file that was picked up from the ftp server.
I am assuming that this behaviour is not correct and that the file should be transferred in its entirity. Unfortunatly the documentation is not very detailed and I cannot find any examples on the internet.
Can anyone offer any advice or even better suggest where I can find an example.

System resources are finite and have a threshold limit for processing. The Oracle SOA Suite, dependent on system resources, also has certain size limitations, largely due to the underlying resources beyond which the system cannot process incoming requests.
For example, Oracle JCA Adapters can process large payloads but the Oracle BPEL PM consumes huge memory when processing large payloads, which can cause OutOfMemory conditions and affect the whole system.
You can try File ChunkedRead option. This will read your large CSV file in chunks so chances of memory out will be less. You can define your own chunk size.
This is a feature of Oracle File and FTP Adapters that uses an invoke activity within a while loop to process the target file. This feature enables you to process arbitrarily
large files. See below link's section "4.5.5 Oracle File Adapter ChunkedRead"

  • Why is it better to use Proxies and not adapters

When I connect 2 systems via XI, i can use proxies (if supported by the external systems) or adapters.
The general view of SAP is that I should use (JAVA or ABAP) proxies where possible, and not adapters.
Why are these "better" than file adapter or idoc adapter (monitoring, error handling, performance, ?????).
    thanks,
    Jan

    As received from SAP :
Proxies support both Synchronous and Async. Connectivity - ALE/IDOC is only Async.
Proxies don't use standard IDOCS, but what you decide to use in the proxy def. on SAP side.
Proxies are only supported on 6.20 onwards.
I would use IDOC adapters for standard IDOCS - and if no ABAB knowledge is available for maintenance.
If there is a standard ALE scenario available - I would use it (eg. Masterdata replication).
If ABAB is already extensively used in the organisation and they are running 6.20+ - I would use proxies.
I would always prefer proxies for Synch. Communication - instead of RFC (if running 6.20+).

  • Difference between Seeburger FTP and OFTP adapters

    hi,
Can anybody tell me the difference between Seeburger FTP and OFTP adapters?
On what basis should one make a business decision as to which adapter to go for?
    Kindly help urgently.
    Regards,
    Loveena

    Hi ! Loveena
Seeburger EDI Adapter provides an EDI solution on internet via HTTP or AS2 to replace the expensive VAN. It provides some pre-built mappings for IDOC to ANSI X12(810,850,855,856 etc.,) and Idoc to EDIFACT(ORDERS,DESADV,INVOIC etc.,) and has the ability to build your own. These pre-defined mappings transform the IDOC-XML to EDI-XML format.
Seeburger Adapters are used to Connect the applications which are using Message protocol/Transport protocol as CrossIndustry(payment), VAN, OFTP, AS2(EDIINT), Generic and EDI based applications.

OFTP ist a communication protocol. This has nothing to do with the format you have to transfer.
regards the format you have to clear at which standard you have to transfer the messages. This can be any EDI format. At OFTP area the standard are often VDA or ODETTE.
You can create this messages using different EDI adapters (of course also the mendelson adapter ).
Regards OFTP you need additional software which handle the transfer based on the OFTP standard. Mostly you also need an ISDN card for using this protocol.
We can support you with this software for OFTP transport too.
More info also available at http://www.mendelson-e-c.com/.
have a look at the ACTIS OFTP Adapter

  • What is RFC and IDOC Adapters in XI  ?

    Hi,
What is the RFC and IDOC Adapters in XI , in which scenarios we use this adapter , what is the advantages and disadvantages of RFC , IDOC ? can any help me out.
    Thanks & Regards
    Surendra M

    Surendra,
<b>What is the RFC and IDOC Adapters in XI</b> :
<b>IDOC:</b> Generaly standard IDOCs are used to update the data in R/3 or to extarct the data from R/3.
<b>RFC:</b> Are generally used for synchronoue scenarios.
<b>in which scenarios we use this adapter</b>
For example you can use the IDOC <b>ORDERS05</b> to post the sales orders.
Similarly you can use <b>BAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAILS</b> to fetch the company details.
<b>what is the advantages and disadvantages of RFC , IDOC ?</b>
<b>Advantages:</b> Both can be used for data retrival and posting. RFC can be used for synchronus purpose but IDOCs are always asynchronous.
<b>Disadvangages:</b> If you are using custome made RFC/IDOC then you have to import the RFC/IDOC into XI every time when you make any small changes in the structure.
Also go through this blog to choose the right adapter to integrate with SAP systems.

  • Test HTTP and SOAP adapters

    Hi
I am working on SAP XI 7.1. I don't use SOAP and HTTP Adapters in this project. Is it possible for me to try some scenarios using both these adapters in the dev and later on remove it?
How can I create a scenario using these two adapters? How do I get the webservices for that?
    Regards

    Abhishek,
Thanks for the prompt reply. I shall search but I have some doubts.
I can't download any software on my m/c without approval from my PL. So does this require downloading some tools to my machine to test this scenario. Can these be done the way we do a File adapter, without any external application on my desktop. The work environment doesn't exactly allow me to download applications. That's a big hurdle

  • Stetting up FTP and SFTP adapters for the same interface

    Experts-
I have a situation in which client has a requirement to setup both FTP and SFTP adapters (from adapetive adapters) for the same interface. They want to have a copy of file locally and also want a file to be sent out securly using SFTP. In my interface which was previously developed they have used one business system and added FTP and SFTP to the same. If try to add new Receiver Agreement it will say that the object already exists as the Interface Mapping is same.
Please send me any suggestions which would resolve my problem

    Hi Hari,
As you cannot create two Receiver agreement using only one receiver interface , please create a new receiver Interface, add that in interface determination step and then assing a different channel to new receiver agreement.
If your requirement is to store the file ,i would suggest write the file in your unix directory using NFS( /usr/sap...). then run a AFT job (if already set up in your landscape) to transfer file securly to target destination. Not sure if its feasible in your case otherwise you can use  SFTP for the secure transfer.

  • Swift and FIX adapters

Any clues on where I can find the Swift and FIX adapters mentioned in the integration
    link below?
    http://www.bea.com/products/weblogic/integration/integration_adapters.shtml

    It works for me.
First you have to select what you want to fix (e.g.
clicks and pops) then press the analyze button to get
a list of things to fix.
Right after the analysis is done, if at least one
thing was found to fix,you should see the "fix all"
button not greyed out, but the "Fix" button will be
greyed out until you actually click on one or more
of the items in the analysis result list.
Are you seeing something different from the behavior
    I've described?
My experience and information is that Soundtrack Pro only finds clipped samples. Have you been able to fix them as well?

  • Automatic generation of Proxies and RFC Adapters after change

After a maintenance on the server, or new transports on the xi, uploading new RFC function modules often the Proxies and RFC Adapters have to be restarted.
If you are not aware of that kind of changes the messages arrive in the wrong format, funny things happen and so on...
Question: Is it possible to scedule a job on the xi which automatically generates all proxies and adapters new in order to minimize message/service errors after uploads and changes?

Did you run program RIMODGEN in SE38 with appropriate variant to generate new integration models ? The spro settings or CFC9 have nothing to do with generation of new integration models. try to do some forum search on Integration Models and you may get some clue.

  • DNS Registration for clients with WLAN and LAN adapters

I have read a number of articles and it seems that there are a number of people who have problems with DNS and workstations with both WLAN and LAN adapters. I haven't however found workable solutions.
    Workstation Connection Objective:
To enable DNS discovery and Ip connection to client workstations regardless of whether the client is using the WLAN or LAN. Enabling users to use either Wireless or LAN adapter adhoc. ie they dock their laptops at their desks, and undock to take their laptops
to meetings or consulations with peers. I need to be able to discover and connect to the workstations irrespective of the adapter being used at any time.
Most people seem to try to control which interface is used on the workstations, ie disable WLAN and only use LAN etc. Trying to disable interfaces isn't going to be feasible and its very inflexible.
I believe I can ensure that the workstations use the NICs in our preferred order:
    1. LAN
    2. WLAN - Our wireless network isn't as fast as the LAN.
By setting specific DHCP metric for the WLAN Router to be higher(ie 2) than the LAN(1). When the LAN isn't connected traffic will route via the WLAN adapter and when the LAN adapter is connected, its router metric will be lower and it will be the preferred
    gateway/route.
But how do I solve the DNS resolution for connection to that asset?
If I disable DHCP Server updates into DNS and allow secure updates from the client. It would be really good if DNS client behaved in the following manner
    1. The LAN adapter(referred to as primary ie LAN) with the lowest metric(ie 1) registers/auto updates DNS with the ip(both A and PTR). Any other Adapters don't register. - ie the WLAN
    2. The Laptop is undocked and the LAN adapter goes offline, the DNS Client then triggers a registration/auto updates its existing DNS entry with the ip from the next adapter(WLAN) with the next lowest gateway metric(2)...hence replacing the first ip registered.
    3. The laptop is docked again, and DNS Client triggers a registration/auto updates its existing DNS entry with the IP from the primary adapter(LAN), replacing the WLAN ip.
So there is only ever 1 ipaddress registered for a workstation and it will always be a valid address. Then I don't need to be concerned about whether the user has the wireless turned on and docked.
Being able to discover and communicate with all our workstations in our sites is crucial requirement....
    This microsoft article says, http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc771255.aspx
Dynamic updates can be sent for any of the following reasons or events:
        * An IP address is added, removed, or modified in the TCP/IP properties configuration for any one of the installed network connections.
        * An IP address lease changes or renews with the DHCP server any one of the installed network connections. For example, when the computer is started or if the ipconfig /renew command is used.
        * The ipconfig /registerdns command is used to manually force a refresh of the client name registration in DNS.
        * At startup time, when the computer is turned on.
        * A member server is promoted to a domain controller.
However from what I am reading, both adapters(LAN,WLAN), if configured to update DNS, will register their Ip addresses. Which leads to an invalid DNS entry if the laptop is undocked, as the IP for LAN adapter isn't removed.
Has anyone solved this problem for their organizations without
    1. Controlling which adapter is used - large management overhead
    2. Only allowing one adapter to register with DNS
        - If using LAN adapter for DNS, then anytime the user is using WLAN, their workstation doesn't have a valid DNS entry. Which also impacts Kerberos.
        - If using the WLAN, then we would have to invest a large amount of money into Wireless to provide the necessary bandwidth
    3. Setting GPO's to configure dns updates every 30mins on clients
        - Inconsistent results...which I think is sometimes a worse problem
    4. Defining separate DNS suffixes for their WLAN networks (I read some people did this)
        - This doesn't remove an invalid DNS entry ie the ip(LAN adapter) DNS entry if the laptop is undocked
        - It also creates problems with kerberos, if the host is registered under a separate DNS suffix from the Active Directory domain name

    Hi,
From my point of view, DNS can't be so smart.
As a workaround, please try the steps below,
Disable the DNS register of wireless adapter
Put "ipconfig /regiserdns" in a bat file
Everytime when the wired network is undocked, run the bat file.
If the wired network is docked, wired adapter will register the DNS record.
When the wired network is undocked, run the bat file, then the wireless adapter will register the DNS record.
If the wired network is docked again, wired adapter will register the DNS record automatically.
    Best Regards.

  • Difference Between SOAP And HTTP Adapters

    Hi,
Any body give me some information Abt Differences between SOAP And HTTP Adapters i know both are in use of Webservises. Any one come with more specific differences like in what case we go for SOAP And in what case we go for HTTP. thanks in advance.
    Thanks
    kiran.B

    Hi,
    In addition to the above
The SOAP Adapter enables u to exchange SOAP messages between the remote clients or web servers and the integration server
The HTTP Adapter is used to receive the arbitrary XML in the body of an HTTP-Post request. The HTTP adapter uses HTTP version 1.0 and does not support returning fault messages  to the sender.
The HTTP adapter is used by the external systems  to connect to the integration engine using the native HTTP interface. The plain HTTP adapter is a part of integration engine.
    Regards,
    Gunasree.
