CIF FILTER SMQR CF* PPDS SNP/DP

Hi,
We would like to know, if it is possible to filter the different queues according name as we use CIF for PPDS object and DP/SNP objects.
if we do so, in CIF MONITOR , would it be possible to check , adn differenciate all  source systems?
Thanks

Hi,
1. There are filters on objects types   being transferred by CIF for transaction data.
Few Examples:
EP External Procurement
IP : Inhouse production
FO: Planned Independent requirements
PC : Production Campaign
CO: Sales Order
SH : Shipment
DL: delivery
RV: reservation.
..... and some few more.
These filters may not disrectly correspond always with the object e.g. inhouse planned order  prodcution order
2. We can also  filter the queues based on system  to/from where CIF data is exchanged .
3. We have also filter on Plug-In Outbound Types( Example : production, stocks etc).
You may check this in transaction SCM Queue Manager  /SAPAPO/CQ or CIF Cockpit ( /SAPAPO/CC).
Please confirm if this helps you.

  • PPDS to SNP PPM conversion error log

    Dear all,
Iu2019m facing an issue in PPM conversion from PPDS to SNP.
I have deleted the both PPDS & SNP PPM for a product/location combination & the corresponding PV has been made invalid.
I have created a new PV for the product/location combination.
When I execute CIF & conversion for the newly created PV, though system is generating both new PPDS & SNP PPMu2019s but at the same time it issuing error messages referring the deleted PPMu2019s in transaction /SAPAPO/PPM_CONV_LOG - SNP PPM Generation: Display Log.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue. More over I would like to know is there any table where the deleted PPMu2019s data is stored which system is referring while generating new PPMu2019s?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shaiz,
I am surprised at the behavior of system. PV is invalid and still it is giving error message.
Please try to CIF new PPM for newly created PV after making earlier PPM inactive.
If the above said option does not work.
I could suggest you to try this. Let's hope it works.
    1) Delete all SNP and PPDS PPM for this product location combination.
Make sure PPMs are inactive and deleted.
    2) Delete the PV which is invalid and maintain only one valid PV.
Now try to CIF it afresh.
As far as your last question is concerned.
all the plans can be accessed by table  /SAPAPO/PLAN
You will get all the details about all PPMs in this table along with the status if PPM (Active/Inactive)
Hope this helps. Let us know if it works.

  • SNP and PPDS planning horizons

    Hai,
I am reading through SNP and PP/DS planning horizons. I understand that SNP doesnot plan anything within SNP production horizon whereas PP/DS plans only within the PP/DS horizon.
Now, I get confused when trying to understand the following sentences:
    1. If production horizon of SNP is smaller than the PP/DS horizon, the planning horizons of SNP and PP/DS overlap with each other. In this horizon, SNP determines the receipts with most cost-effective sources of supply and lot sizes and PP/DS plans the receipts in more detail.
    2. If requirements within the SNP production horizon cannot be covered by PP/DS, then SNP plans the receipt outside the SNP production horizon(this corresponds to the logic in the PP/DS planning time fence in short term planning).
    3. If the PP/DS horizon in the product master is set to be greater than SNP production horizon, this gives rise to an overlapping area in both SNP and PP/DS receipts are created.
Can anyone please help me undestand the above? An example or somedocumentation reference is appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi Visu,
Good question. You missed Planning Time Fence in the equation.
    |--||--
    >
    1.       PTF             SNP            PPDS
You execute PPDS Heuristic (Product Heuristic) then requirements upto PPDS horizon will be covered by receipt elements (beyond Planning Time Fence). If you run SNP Heuristic then receipt elements will be created from SNP Horizon out in future deleting the receipt elements created by the previous PPDS run. But note that while PPDS planning is down to the second level SNP planning is minimum at a day level. If you have weekly buckets then all requirements for one week will be clubbed and single receipt element will get created. However you can consider SNP orders as fixed during PPDS Net Requirement Calculation through appropriate development.
    |--||--
    >
           PTF              PPDS           SNP
    2. This is also not clear to me as I cannot build the scenario as described. The above diagram is the closest I could come up with. But in this case if you run SNP Heuristic and there are unmet requirements (sitting between PPDS and SNP horizon) then the receipt for that will be created only at the start of the SNP Horizon.
    3. This is correct but already explained in 1.
Hope this clarifies or at least does not add to the confusion. BTW if you are interested then please read OSS Note 481906 - SNP - PP/DS integration (documentation).

  • SNP and R3

    Hi, all guru
I'm new to SNP, would like to clarify the process flow .
What is the output of each SNP process after release the forecast from DP to SNP
    1. is the first process is DRP ? when we run optimizer, what is the output , any order send to R3
    2. how about Deployment and TLB run , any output , any order type created ? any data sent to R3
    3. when R/3 received those data , what R/3 do with it .
4 what is the flow between SNP and MM/PP at R3
    5. what is Rough cut capacity planning , it is seperate data being load to SNP, how to relate to SNP process
it will be very helpful if we can have a scenario base of example
    many thanks

    Hi :
    following are the steps :
Once the demand plan is released form DP to SNP , Planned Independent Requirements are created for SNP / PPDS.
Now performing SNP Runs through Heuristics , CTM or  Optimizer Results in Distribution & Production Plan for
Medium to long term horizon . After SNP run you can generate alerts for any exception and resolve them .
SNP plan now consist of Transaction data (Purchase requisition , SNP Stock transfer order or SNP Planned order)  . If you are using PPDS , SNP orders can be converted to PPDS orders which are more detailed .
After production planning is complete , Deployment confirms stock transfer order based on current receipts and  demand .
TLB runs groups together stock transfer orders into  shipments .
All these transaction data is passed to R/3 through CIF .
SNP planning is rough cut only if you are utilizing SNP PPM which only contains critical resources and material .

  • SNP PPM need to be created

    Hi
I want to create a only SNP PPM when a Routing is CIFed from R3. currently, we are getting the PPDS PPM.
pl let me know, where will be the setting to create SNP PPM directly in APO.
    Thanks
    JK

    Hi JK :
SNP PPM can not be generated from R/3 directly .
It can be manually created in APO through transaction SCC03 .
Also if you dont want to create it manually then you can do through this , when you CIF  BOM & routing , A PPDS ppm gets created in APO .
This can be converted into SNP PPM , It is also possible to convert for the whole plant in one go or can select certain products for a plant.
SNP PPM is generated in APO based upon existing PPDS PPM .  So, every time an R/3 recipe or BOM is changed, the PPDS plan will automatically be updated.  However the equivalent SNP plan must be regenerated manually to account for the R/3 changes.
    there are two steps :
selection of the required plans via /n//SAPAPO/OO_PPM_CONV
& conversion of those selection plans /n/SAPAPO/PPM_CONV_310.

  • Planned orders are not converted into process orders in ECC.

    Dear All,
The issue is that Planned orders with conversion tick are not publishing in ECC as manufacturing orders. We did check the relevant master data consistency between APO and ECC and it seems fine.
We have tried to send the conversion from APO to ECC,all the orders stuck in the R1P inbound queue with error - Order no. XXXX does not exist
    Message no. C/006.
Based on above message and error we found SAP Note 515740 - Inconsistencies in table CIFORDMAP for this issue.
Used the transaction SE38 and created RCFORDCH report and 'Checking inconsistencies in table CIFORDMAP'
Here it shows order series stuck in queues no longer exists.
But not sure how to reconcile the inconsistency in the CIFORDMAP table.
    Would appreciate your advice.
    Regards,
    Sajit SIngh

    Hi Sajit Singh,
Could you take some sample items struck for order conversion and check
whether active PPDS & SNP PPMs available.
In some cases, conversion will be affected for want of PPMs.  If it is the
case with you, try generating the PPM first for that sample item and retry
    converting the orders.
Could you please check and confirm this.
    Regards

  • Workcenter overload during MRP run

    Dear All.
Hi, While MRP run using MD01, if there is a overload in a workcenter, using lead time scheduling & capacity planning can we stop the propsed plan & change the plan accordingly in the same screen.
    Subbu.

    Dear
While you are running MRP , if you select Lead Time Scheduling -2 , then it will consider the Routing Operation time  and it does only materials planning .MRP assume that Work Centre has infinite capacity and does not consider any overload at inidviaul work cenre level to give you a detail scheduling and capacity planning .
If you need to consider the same , then you should go for SCM module like APO PPDS/SNP where you have Production Planning with detail scheuling based on Demand and Resource available capacity etc .
    Hope it clarifies

  • SNP/DP/PPDS/GATP/CIF

    Hi Experts,
As i am new to APO, i would like to know what is SNP, DP, PPDS, GATP AND CIF and what is the link between all these. I worked in some concepts of PPDS and CIF. But not aware of SNP and DP. And also apart from these submoduls in APO , are there any other modules which comes under APO?

    Hi
APO Demand Planning is a set of functionalities around Demand Management, Statistical Forecasting, Promotion and Life-cycle Planning processes. It is an integral part of any organizations Sales & Operations Planning Process.
Demand Planning can primarily be divided in two areas - Data Mart and Demand Management Functionalities. The Data Mart portion of APO DP is basically the SAP BW component with all BW related transactions and objects available.
Supply Network Planning is a set of functionalities around Distribution Requirement Planning, Deployment, Demand and Supply Matching and Optimization.
Along with Demand Planning it is an integral part of any organizations Sales & Operations Planning Process.
APO Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling is a set of functionalities around Inhouse Production Planning, External Procurement Planning, Resource Scheduling and Sequence Optimization.
PPDS is primarily divided in two areas - Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling. This component has the highest amount of integration between APO and the OLTP (R/3 or ERP) system for real-time transaction data transfer back and forth.
CIF is the standard interface between ERP (R/3 or ECC) and APO used to transfer master and transaction data. While Master Data transfer is unidirectional, transaction data is bi-directional.
Global Available-to-Promise is a set of functions around Order Promising and Fulfillment checking across the whole supply chain. Some of the important functions are Rules-based Availability Check, Product and Location Substitution and Capable-to-Promise. Capable-to-Promise function is where production orders get created in the event of shortage during a Sales Order ATP check.
Multi-level ATP is an advanced method of ATP Check for confirming customer request or Sales Order by checking for on-time component availability.
Product Allocation check is possible in APO using Demand Planning functionality to ease the management of Allocation Quantity.
Plsese find below the link with more information

  • CIF PDS for SNP and PPDS

    Dear Experts,
I am using SNP and PPDS
do i need to have sales bom for SNP PDS  is it mandatory ,
or just normal production bom is enough for having both snp and ppds Product data structure
    Thanks & Regards
    Raj

    Dear Satya,
    Thanks for your reply
I know PV is needed for SNP PDS , is the PV which is used for SNP PDS is same for PDS PP/DS, or we need to use and special key during CIF ing to APO from ECC 6

  • Convert SNP Orders to PPDS Orders in CIF

We have a requirement to segregate the orders created in SNP and scheduled in ECC.  I know this can be done with the Production Planned and Production Confirmed key figures based on ATP Category as EE is for SNP and AJ, AK, AL, AI are PPDS.  The complication is we are not using PPDS for short term scheduling; therefore ECC will control the short term scheduling.  We are currently removing the Firm indicator on ECC for any SNP (EE) order using a user exit.  This allows for seeing the SNP orders as not scheduled (not firmed) in ECC.  When the scheduler firms the planned order in ECC we want the order to show in the production confirmed key figure in SNP.  This can be done by setting the EE Firmed to the Production Confirmed key figure, but now the SNP Planner has SNP Orders on two different key figures.  Therefore, our requirement is to change any SNP order (EE Category) to a PPDS order if it is firmed.   This way Production Planned are SNP orders only and Production Confirmed are scheduled or created ECC orders.
We have tried using APOCF004 to change the APOAPPL from a 3 to a 1 and BADI ORDER_INB_MODIFY_AFTER_MERGE changing cs_ordkey-appli from 4 to 2.  Neither of these options worked.  Possibly because of the difference in structures and number range, the system is not doing the convert.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi,
Please check the settings in the heuristics  SAP_SNP_SNGL(Individual Conversion SNP --> PP/DS) or SAP_SNP_MULT, whatever you are using.
PPDS horizon is relevent for the conversion and SNP horizon may not be relevant.
    The details are as below:
The conversion horizon for SNP to PPDS is decided as below.
    Conversion Hprizon
The offset and the PP/DS horizon together define the conversion horizon, that is, the period in which you want to convert Supply Network Planning (SNP) orders and Capable-To-Match Planning (CTM) orders into Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) orders:
    Conversion horizon = PP/DS horizon + offset
You must specify a positive value for the offset. The conversion horizon begins on today's date and continues for the relevant number of calendar days into the future. So that the system converts an SNP or CTM order into a PP/DS order, the start date/time of the order must be within the conversion horizon. If you want to extend the conversion horizon to the end of the SNP or CTM planning period in which the end of the conversion horizon lies, you enter a daily buckets profile.
    Hope this helps.

  • SNP Planned Orders to ECC Process Orders - no PPDS

    Hello Gurus,
Is there a way to covert an SNP Planned orders to ECC Prod. orders? Can one switch off the PPDS in APO and still get the MRP/ MPS planning in APO and  and convert those SNP planned orders into ECC orders in ECC
    Thanks.

    Hi Abhi,
When you CIF SNP and PPDS planned orders to ECC system there is no diffrenciation between both of them (Because component specific details for the orders are not captured in ECC). So in ECC system you can convert Planned orders to Process or production orders by switching PPDS off in APO.
In APO system, SNP itself can plan for all the levels (RM,PM,FG,SFG) so no need of doing MRP.So you can switch off PPDS.
MPS functionality is available in ECC and not in APO system.
    Thanks and regards
