CIF Problem
Hi,
When I activate the my Integration Model in the R/3 system for transferring the PO and PR I'm getting a dump as Screen output without connection to User.
We have raised an OSS note for this.
Note : We don't get this error always. When we restart the program for the second or thrid time it works perfectly.
Thanks,
Siva.

Another 7110 CIF problem!
I'm exporting the same file system as a CIF and NFS share.
I have created a file on the CIF share, I can read, write, modify fine.
I get permission denied with trying to modify the same file on the NFS mount. I can see the file, but when I try and do anything with it I get permission denied.
I can't even ls -l on the file - still get permission denied.
We are on 2009.04.10.1.0,1-1.6.
Ta,Hello,
Are oyu working with NFSv4?
You should have not problems with NFSv3, but with v4 you need to configure identity mapping and the nfsv4 domain.
Sun recommended me to give 777 permissions to the share root and administer the ACLs from the windows if i want to share resources over CIFS and NFS (Active Directory and LDAP authentication).

Hello all,
We recently deployed WAAS (4.1) system in our datacenter / remote office. The setup is fairly basic from what i'm being told. 2 application accelerators, and one central management device, nothing too tricky. We've opted to use WCCP redirection instead of inline mode.
All WAE's are registered to my CM, the problem i'm running into is at my remote site, after turning on WCCP redirection on my routers, all CIFS file shares stop working between sites. I have file servers at both locations, and after redirecting the traffic to my accelerator, I can no longer access file shares from my remote site to my central office, and vice versa.
The configs are very much default on the WAE's, everything is using automatic discovery, which I was assuming wouldn't cause any problems like this, and I admit that i'm not up to speed on the in's and out's of WAAS.
Any help is appreciated as always!
Thanks -
JonSure:
The servers are Windows Server 2k3, no DFS here at all. These are dell SAN's that we use for storage.
I did see traffic hitting the WAE's, before I stopped redirecting traffic at my remote site, http / https, & domain services & exchange traffic were being optimzed. Basically what happens is after I start redirecting traffic to my remote site WAE's, file shares stop working, so I can't leave them running very long :).
I can post some of the config requests below, but since I'm no longer redirecting traffic to my WAE's, this is going to "skew" the results of the commands.
I did find a post in this forum that said I should upgrade my WAE's to 4.1.5(f), because an MS hotfix KB980232 possibly breaks CIFS accelerated connections. I'm working on downloading & upgrading my accelerators now & will let you know if this fixes my issue.
"We have seen the problems first hand and I would recommend against this patch if accelerating CIFS connections."

Attached are the show commands you requested.
Thanks!

CIFS problems after upgrading to eDir 8.8SP5
Dear readers,
I used CIFS for a few months & working OK with WinXP and Win7 (yes I lowered the LM setting); I could connect to all CIFS servers.
I recently installed a new NetWare 6.5SP8 server with eDir 8.8 SP5 (and NMAS 3.3.2) in my companies tree.
I configured CIFS identical to the other servers, but here's the strange part:
When I use my own account I can't connect to the eDir 8.8 SP5 server, with an new (test) account all's working fine; this test -account is in the same context as my own account.
I've upgraded a Netware SP7 server to SP8 and eDir 8.8SP5, I also upgraded an Netware SP7 to eDir 8.8SP5; when running eDir 8.8SP5 it goes wrong.
I'm suspecting NMAS 3.3.2 to create the problem; Servers running NMAS 3.2.0.0 (NW65SP7 eDir 8.7SP3 or 8.8SP4) are well.
I've found in the DSMISC log an error while upgrading SAS:Service, however this would not explain the test account working fine.
Any Ideas?
Thanks in advance,

APO GATP Backorder processing -- SO's in R/3 not updating -- CIF problem
Issue: After executing backorder processing in APO, the update is stuck in CIF .. error (*"Inbound APOCLNT800: No IModel active for cat. Sale"*)
Note: I am able to create SO's in R/3 and getting commit from APO.
After Saving the SO's the SO's are transferred to APO ( I am able to see the SO's in product view - APO).
I wonder where is the IM not active
Appreciate your inputsHi kitkat,
If this is a test of a new functionality, you might just have an old blocked queue. Try deleting the blocked queue and then re-try the BOP.
If this is a new error for a BOP scenario that had been working previously, then check your deltareport. You may have an order in SCM that for whatever reason is no longer being handled by SCM. In this case, you only need to delete the order in SCM.
If these two tries don't work, then you need to start examining your CIFs to see if the product/location/sales ord/stock/ATP/etc etc are consistant with your expectations. Don't forget, in the case of a GATP using location/product substitution, you need to ensure that all possible data that would be needed by BOP is being properly CIFd across.

Novell's CIFS requires OES so it's the same. I guess I don't know what
you are asking.
With our version the very next window that pops up is the browse to the
backup destination. Oh, and here is the exact wording of the error
message:
Cannot open backup device 'M:\MW-RMS\Backup\01042010.bck'. Device error
or device off-line. See the SQL-Server error log for more details.
BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
From Event Viewer:
18204 :
BackupDiskFile::CreateMedia: Backup device 'M:\MS-RMS\Backup
\01042012.bck' failed to create. Operating system error = 5(Access is
denied.).
When exiting the RMS Administrator you should get prompted to do a
backup. This also pops up the window to browse to the backup location.

7310 - Problem with CIFS and Roaming Profiles since upgrade to 2010.Q1.0.2
We have developed a strange problem with our environment which I'm pretty sure is down to the upgrade to 2010.Q1.0.2 from 2009.Q3.4.1 on our 7310 (all the previous 2009 releases had been fine) since nothing else has changed in our environment. I suspect some changes to the underlying CIFS server causing this?
We have virtual Windows servers hosted on a VMWare VSphere cluster which are stored on the 7310 via iSCSI LUNs and also CIFS shares on the 7310 for home directories and separate CIFS shares for roaming profiles - all paths are correct in AD for each user - we also use folder redirection for XP Pro clients to force things like "Application Data", "My Documents" etc. onto the Homedir share.
What we've been seeing recently (which only started happening after the upgrade) is a lot of failed logons to the domain for users. It looks like the usual corrupted profile problem that has plagued Windows forever ...the usual messages that it cannot log the user on with a copy of their roaming profile, and that it will use a temporary one. Some folder redirections (that are initiated via Group Policy) also don't get applied. Users don't see errors when logging off from a "good" profile, and NTUSER.DAT etc. seemingly gets written correctly - the next time they log on, around half the time the users will get these errors as described below:
Event viewer logs show "cannot find the file specified" errors for NTUSER.DAT, along with "directory name is invalid" errors for some of the folder redirections.
More worrying (and what I think might be the real reason for these failures) are the "offline caching is enabled on the roaming profile share" errors. I think that the client-side caching might not be working - possibly the profiles aren't getting flushed and written correctly upon logout?
Now, unfortunately the MMC snap-in for managing shares doesn't seem to support changing the behaviour for client-side caching on the CIFS shares (as confirmed in the latest 7000-series Admin Guide on page 198).
I've been thinking about unchecking the "Enable Oplocks" box which from the CIFS side would completely stop all client-side caching I presume?
Is this likely to be the culprit here, or is there any other known behaviour that could be causing these errors? Is it also worth disabling "Cache device usage" altogether for the Profiles share itself?
Can anyone help? It's a bit of a strange problem, and something I don't want to raise with Sun on our support contract just yet, since at first glance it looks like a Windows problem, but I suspect the storage could well be to blame...Unfortunately, this is still not working correctly...
So, it looks like it's not related to the offline caching seeing as it all works on the Q2009 despite the warnings...
Some more errors coming out of userenv.log on the affected Windows machines:
USERENV(280.284) 10:07:33:230 ReconcileFile: GetFileAttributes on the source failed with error = 2
USERENV(280.284) 10:07:33:230 CopyProfileDirectoryEx: ReconcileFile failed with error = 2
and later:
USERENV(280.284) 10:07:33:245 GetShareName: WNetGetConnection initially returned error 2250
USERENV(280.284) 10:07:33:245 CopyProfileDirectoryEx: Leaving with a return value of 0
USERENV(280.284) 10:07:33:245 RestoreUserProfile: CopyProfileDirectory failed. Issuing default profile
...which then forces the TEMP profiles.
All other errors linked to this look like "file not found", "invalid path" etc. when the files are present and the paths are correct.
Manually mapping drives using CIFS with UNC paths sporadically fails too now. We have a bunch of GPOs that map shares to users depending on their group memberships - these too are sporadically failing.
It certainly looks to me like it could be a CIFS problem introduced in the Q2010 release.
I'm going to raise a ticket with Sun... -
Hi,
My question is related to the CIF of master data.
I built an integration model to transfer the materials from R/3 to APO, and then the delta modifications are CIF by a background process at night.
I would like to transfer all the delta master data, but having one excetption.
I do not need to transfer the safety stock delta changes in R/3 to APO, so that I maintain these values independently in APO. The issue is that the safety stock values in R/3 are also changed but with another purpose and the R/3 values are overwriting the values that I am uploading directly in APO after the delta CIF transfer.
Is there any way that I can CIF the delta master data changes in R/3, but restricting the delta safety stock changes?
Thanks a lot!Yes it is possible. You have to add custom logic in the material CIF user exit to turn off the update of safety stock fields in APO. Actually there are a lot of threads in this forum that discuss this issue.
You can start by referring to the thread below

Can't open office files located on a windows server fileshare
Hi TechNet / Office for Mac Community,
re: can't open MS Office files located on a windows server file share
Is anyone else experiencing this issue and/or have a fix?
Details:
Clients: Mac OS X 10.6 / 10.7 / 10.8 / 10.9
File share: Windows Server 2008 R2
Connecting via SMB or CIFS
Problem:
When mounting the Windows Server file share, Mac clients are unable to open MS Office 2011 files (not just powerpoint) from that location.
Error message: "there was an error accessing /Volumes/data/folder/presentation.pptx"
There is no issue creating or deleting MS Office files from that location.
The Mac 'Preview' application is able to open the same MS Office file without issues.
The file is not corrupted and can be opened when copied to the desktop.
Windows clients have no problem opening the file.
Only this particular file share is having an issue.
Are there any known issues or requirements for Windows Server file shares and MS Office 2011 that would apply to this problem?
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.WebPhoenix, recommend you post this question here instead:

Replaced 2008 DC, now remote systems are slow to browse network
I just replaced our DC that also served as one of several DNS servers. All FSMO roles were transferred to the new DC before demoting.
After doing so, the majority of our remote sites (connected via site-to-site VPN), can no longer access the UNC path of the file server also located in each remote site, and if they can, it is extremely slow. However, this isn't happening to every
remote site. Affected sites are also unable to access UNC path via IP address, although nslookup/pings resolve normally. The temporary workaround is to remove all affected systems from the domain. As soon as those machines are removed from
the domain and rebooted, accessibility to these paths returns instantly. What did you replace your 2008 DCs with?
Are you using WINS?
Transferring FSMOs wouldn't have anything to do with this. FSMOs are operational role holders that perform tasks for the domain and forest, and do not have anything to do with speed or authentication. However, I've seen slowness occur due to authentication
issues, especially with older operating systems and apps.
I've also seen issues with the TCP Chimney that can cause slowness.
TCP Chimney and RSS Feature May Cause Slow File Transfers or Cause Connectivity Problems

http://blogs.msmvps.com/acefekay/2009/08/19/tcp-chimney-and-rss-features-may-cause-slow-file-transfers-or-cause-connectivity-problems/
And if you replaced the DCs with 2012 or newer, you will also want to inventory your applications to make sure that nothing is using NTLM v1 or LANMAN, which no longer be supported in Windows 2012 R2. So if you have any older apps that are using the
older authentication methods, they may no longer work.
