.cil files will no longer import to clip gallery

I have always been able to download MS clip art, change the extension to .cil and it would load into my clip gallery with no problem.  Suddenly, it has stopped doing so.  I've clicked on the files, tried the import screen, etc., and it appears that it's making motions like it will appear in the gallery, but nothing is there.  Any ideas?  I'm  using Snow Leopard 10.6.7 and my updates are current (could this be a bug in a recent update?)

  • Itunes will no longer import new tunes

i'm using itunes 7.6.2 on an imac running 10.5.2. i've been experiencing a lot of the same problems i've been reading about on here (discs disappear from the finder, cds no longer eject, etc...) but i've been importing new tunes with no trouble at all... until now.
all of a sudden itunes will no longer import anything whether i use file/import or drag and drop. when i use drag and drop the file appears on the playlist in grey for a second and then vanishes. otherwise itunes is playing tracks in my 17,500+ file library with no problem.
anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?

    Hi
I have a similar problem with importing CD's in iTunes 7.6.2 (9) on 10.5.2. If I have iTunes open and insert a CD then the audio disc mounts on the desktop fine but the second that the disc is recognized in iTunes, the mount on the desktop disappears. No matter if I chose yes or no in the import window the disc also dismounts from within iTunes and the disc is just regarded as having disappeared all together. If I then eject and reinsert the disc everything runs smoothly ... and it is like this every time. I have to insert the disc twice for it to work
If instead I exit iTunes and the insert the disc then there is no problem what so ever. iTunes starts up automatically and I can press the import button to import flawlessly.
Odd behavior if you ask me ...

  • Iphoto 09' will no longer import the photos from my ipad

    Hi,
I have iphoto 09' and it will no longer import photos from my ipad. The ipad is 2nd gen and run ios 7 (it is updated as of Dec. 13'). It says it does not support jpg. files, though it always has before. I have tried using image capture as well as preview, neither works. Image capture and preview say something about an image capture error -9129 or something. I have also tried to bypass completely by copying and drag/dropping onto a USB key and into a desktop folder. Neither of these work either. I have aslo tried using a new library in iphoto and it doesn't work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks and cheers, Dori

As a test launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it?

  • My ID files will no longer open?: I need to update our catalog. Please help

My archived ID Files will no longer open in ID 2014. Please help, I need to update our catalog.

If the files come from very old versions, like pre-CS (1.0, 1.5 and 2.0) you have to open them in older versions of InDesign first. Try to open them in CS6 (this is the oldest version which comes with the CC subscription), otherwise go back to CS4 which could open every previous version and save it with the version you use.

  • IPhoto will no longer import photos from any of my another cameras.

iPhoto will no longer import photos from any of my another cameras after importing photos from my iTouch.

Does the camera mount to the desktop so you can look to see what is there? Have you tried Image capture (in your applications folder) to import the photos? Have you tried unchecking hide previously imported to see what that shows? Do you have a USB card reader to try? When did you last reformat your memory card?
If you can get the photo off the card using any method do so and tehn use yoru camera's format command to reformat the card

  • IMovie 8.0.6 will no longer import .mov or .dv files

Trying to troubleshoot my wife's iMovie (2008 MacBook, OS 10.5.8) issues:
-no longer imports .mov or .dv files (worked up until a week ago or so)
-in testing, my MacBook Pro (OS 10.6.3) imports said files without issues
-we've deleted apple.com.iMovie08.plist file from MB, no change
Import process looks on MB like it is going to work, but import 'barometer' shows only briefly before disappearing, with no import resulting. Troubleshooting is made more frustrating given that this worked previously on this machine. Perhaps a system update or something similar is the cause?
    Any help welcome...
    Cheers,
    Andrew

forgot to mention above that MB in question will import short .m4v files without drama. Files we are attempting to import as .dv or .mov files are about 20Gb.
    cheers,

  • My 5.85 Gig psb file will no longer open.

I've been working on a psb file for a couple of days in CS6 and this morning the file would no longer open. I get a dialogue box that says "the file is not compatible with this version of Photoshop". I've been using the same version all along so I know this is not a version problem. My backup file has the same problem. I need help or I've lost a couple of days of work.
I can open a flatened version of the file in Illustrator CS6 but can't open a layered version. It would apear that the file has become corrupted in the layers somehow. Any thoughts on how I might be able to fix the original psb file and reserect the layers?

    Hi Robert
I have no idea if it is relevant to your issue, but have run into trouble with background saving after it was introduced with CS6, and a 6Gb file is going to take a while to save on the best of systems.
Can you tell us about the backup file?  Did you save an earlier version with a different name, for instance?  What are their file sizes?
Out of interest, I just knocked up a 6Gb file, saved as a PSB, and turned off the warning dialogue.  (It was taking 12 seconds to load and save to a raid0 with two 2nd gen v'raptors)   I then tried to force an error while saving, and the only way to make that happen would have been to shut Windows 7, and tell it I didn't care about lost data.  I'm sure you wouldn't have done that!
So I guess your next step is to Google PSD file recovery options. A recent poster had success with one of them, and you might find the thread if you search.

  • CR files will no longer show in bridge and will not load into PS

Hi I had a problem with bridge CS6 dynamic link failing and had tech support finally help with the problem by phone They had me reinstall PSCS6 and Bridge among other things like setting the permissions differenty. It worked ok when I opened it again after those changes and then I closed the apps and opened them again the next day (today) but now the CR files will show no thumbnails nor previews in bridge and will not load into PSCS6.
I get now the following error messages
These are files that are on my system and not from a camera plugged into the computer. They had worked just fine before the reinstall and permisisons changes the tech had me do. They open in the preview app and look fine so I know they are not corrupted files and I have tried different saved versions of the same (or any other CR file) and none of them will now open and Camera raw itself seems no where to be found. My prefences in camera raw have not clanged. Any ideas??? thanks and aloha, UP
I tried image processor in bridge to make them PS files and got the following error message.
I tried to load one of the CR files from the finder dirretly and got the following error message.
Any help would be appreciated. If the post goes inanswered I will call tech support  again. aloha UP

HI, I managed to fix the trouble by reinsatalling once again and running updates BEFORE opening bridge. It seemed that if I ran the update AFTER opening bridge I would get either an up to date status when checking for updates or I would get an install failure notice on all 4 updates that were trying to install. The updates were for camera raw, bridge and PS. I can't explain why but that helped a little. I also changed permissions on my whole user accnt to include read/write for all users. I can't say if this helped or not. I also had to go into my camera B/U files on a sepate HD and replace some of the CR folders I was using o nthe desktop. Still the CR files would not show a thumb nor a preview till I then went to each individual file inside that folder and purged the cashe for that file so it could repopulate the cashe yet again. This has been the strangest few days in PSCS6 history! Well my personal history. I will report back here if more quirks emerge. I would prefer quarks though....aloha, U

  • My iMac will no longer import .jpg files.  With either iPhoto or image capture

Can someone tell me why iPhoto and Image Capture say that .jpg is no longer a supported format.  I've imported hundreds of photos from my camera before and now I can't.  I noticed this after I had placed the SD card in my Panasonic Viera TV to view the photos.  Is it possible that the TV screwed up the formating on the SD card?  I'm still able to view them on the camera, but unable to import them.

Try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If the problem does not repeat itself in the test library then your current library is the culprit.
If that's the case try the following: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • Just installed Red Giant Trapcode Suite, now AE CC will no longer import or recognize jpeg files?

Have tried trashing AE Preferences, deleting Media Caches, etc to no avail. Also get red outline or screens on AE Start Up or Quit?
Anyone else experienced anything like this??
Installed on Mac Pro 4.1 running OSX 10.9.5, 36GB RAM, Nvdia Quaddro FX 4800.

In fact all prior projects that utilized a jpeg or png for an Environment Map, background, composited layer, etc., etc. have all links broken and will not reload or replace footage already in projects.
Trapcode Suite 12 downloaded from Red Giant for CC and installed properly.

  • IPhoto 08 will no longer import any photos/videos from my digital camera?!?

It seems as though after the most recent Snow Leopard update (10.6.4), I can no longer upload any photos to iPhoto on my imac. It seems as though this is a fairly common problem, and I'm wondering if anyone has been able to resolve it? I am honestly afraid to download any further updates from apple - every time something gets updated....something gets broken. I wish I was exaggerating here...since the initial upgrade to Snow Leopard, after every upgrade/update, major problems have shown up on my once-faithful Imac. Wireless networking, printing, third party software...and now iphoto.

Same here! During the last software update 7/23, I watched the update process and saw "removing files" as one of the last procedures. Did not realize until later that ALL of iLife '08 had been totally removed. A genius at the store told me that Snow Leopard won't work with iLife '08 and yet it was working fine until last Friday. Now instead of loading multiple photos to my MacBook Pro, iPhone will only allow one photo to be emailed or attached to a contact. They told me at the store I can use Image Capture instead, but that doesn't give me the thumbnail photos. Really dastardly update. Any suggestions except to purchase iLife '09?

  • Mov files will no longer play -how to convert them to a playable format?

Okay, I read Steve Job's "Thoughts on Flash". Fine I get it.
So how do I convert an older Quicktime, flashbased mov file to something playable?
I have a mov file I need for an assignment for school and I been trying for a month to convert it to something that I can listen to. (It's a quicktime mov file but it only has audio.)
I've been trying to convert it on a PC since most of the programs I read about for file conversions were PC only programs. Six tries no solutions. (See my posts and requests for help in the PC Quicktime area of Apple discussions.) All give error messages and say they cannot convert the file.
So... are there any format conversion programs (free) for Mac that will convert this file to something playable? I have the ibook G4 with 10.3.9 I can try on. (The G4 tower just died - power supply is toast)
I am so frustrated and running out of time. Thanks for any ideas or help.

So let me see if I understand this.
I would attach an external hard drive to the computer via usb.
I would put a copy of the OS 10.3.9 on the external hard drive with an install of Quicktime 7.2 (still flash capable)
Then use a sound recording program to record to a different format.
I didn't know you could successfully have a second OS on an external drive without problems. Anything in particular to be careful of, or to do or not to do? Do I have to start up the laptop with the external drive disconnected and then connect it after start up?
These won't fight with the current OS on the laptop? or the current Quicktime install on the laptop?
Question: can I remove the hard drive from the just expired G4PowerPC and put it in a case and attach it by usb to the laptop? I'm pretty sure it's Quicktime version is 7.2 and I have a paid for copy of sound studio on that hard drive. The G4 hard drive is used to being the master drive vs the slave. Do I have to move the jumpers or is there something else I have to do? It's got OS10.3.9 and OS9 on it.
I don't know if my mov file has any enabled clicks or not. How would I know or find this out? What would this look like or how would it behave?
    Thanks for the idea.

  • Itunes will no longer import

My itunes has suddenly decided not to let me import anymore. I have tried multiple CD's. It will start importing, get through one or two songs and freeze up the whole computer so I have to cold start it. It does this when i load songs to my folders through Media Player and try to import them from my hard drive as well.
I have been able to play all the CD's through Windows Media Player just fine. I have unloaded and reloaded itunes. My quick time is up to date. I have turned off all firewalls in an effort to correct the issue. I am at a dead end. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have had the same exact problem. I'm using Vista, however. When I try to add a folder full of music to itunes using the "Add Folder to Playlist" option, nothing actually happens. It looks like it's working, but nothing ever gets trasferred to my itunes folder.
There seems to be no info on the itunes site about this. Help!

  • Local Files will no longer update in CS3

    Hi,
We've got a problem with DW CS3 that our local files no longer update. The practical upshot of this is that I have to use an external ftp program, and can no longer synchronise as DW thinks the files haven't changed. As you can imagine, this is a real pain in the proverbial... The remote files update normally. When working on, and saving, a file it saves ok. I've been through and checked via notepad that the code is updating. It's just that DW doesn't recognise that the file has changed. This also applies to any image files.
Tried a reinstall, and the same thing happens. We've checked all the settings we can think of, and can't see why anything wouldn't be working. We have been using on Vista successfully, but have just upgraded our machines and ended up on Vista 64 in the process, so don't know if that's got something to do with it.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated! We've been using DW for years (since version 1), and have never come up against anything like this before.
    Thnx
    Andrew

I haven't come across this particular problem before, but it sounds as though the cache file might have been corrupted. Instructions for deleting the cache file are in this post in the Dreamweaver FAQ. If deleting the cache file doesn't work, it's worth trying renaming or deleting the personal configuratin folder, details of which are in the same post.
