Cinema Display plus Mac Book Air Gen2 lagging in windows 7 with boot camp !, Cinema Display plus Mac Book Air Gen2 lagging in windows 7 with boot camp !

Dear All,
I have the Apple Cinema display 27 inch.
Along with it I get the Mac Book Air 13 inch gen 2,with 2 go of memory and the integrated NVIDIA 320M (driver version:  8.17.12.5746) running on boot camp 3.2.
The issue happened when I connect it to the the 27 Cinema display, things are getting slow, and my system is kind of lagging. Itunes music crackle and opening and surning on the web is not smooth.
Do youk now how I could fix this issue which is very disturbing for such expensivesystem.
Many Thanks !

Have you reinstalled the latest Boot Camp Windows 7 drivers, just in case Microsoft overwrote some of them during the Windows 7 security update?

Anyone having trouble with the new update for 2010 mac book air 10.8.2 ? My 2010 Macbook Air has crashed 15times since the 10.8.2 update. Have only once since owning it.

Turned out the hardware was bad.  Apple exchanged it for a new Mac Air and the new trackpad works great.  Thank goodness it was a defect.  If the trackpads all worked like that I would have been bummed.

  • Mac Pro/Boot Camp - inf files for Windows XP & Apple 23¨ cinema displays

have a Mac pro with the ATI video card. I have installed Boot Camp 1.1 and can boot to win XP or Mac ok when I use a dell monitor for win xp. If I use the apple displays, the screen often doesn't turn on at all - just black screen though it has booted to win XP as I can type in my password and hear it log in. If I boot to Mac and then change to Win, it sometimes displays Win XP OK. However, when it does do that, it dosn't recognise the Apple Display - rather it is a plug and play monitor with lousy resolution. Are there .inf files for the Apple Displays to work properly on XP?

    Try WinAcd <http://sourceforge.net/projects/winacd/>

  • Mini with 22" ADC Cinema Display w/ADC-DVI

    Greetings...
I've been playing with my new 1.4Ghz mini and the display I happen to have free right now is an original 22" Cinema Display. I have the ADC to DVI adapter for this display and it's rock solid on my old G4 Sawtooth. Anyway on the mini it works very nicely exept for one problem. I get a flicker that seems to tie to system activity. May be voltage variations effecting the internal video DVI drivers. OK my question it. 1) Has anyone else out there tried this combination? (Apple's monitor compatibility chart says it's supported so I know somone at Apple tried it). 2) Do you have any image stability issues like flickering. I'm asking this because I'm now wondering if maybe my little guy is a bit faulty in the video department. I'll try my new 20" display tomorrow to see if it has the same problem.
Anyway this is an amazing little box. BTW mine currently has the minimum RAM but that will change as soon as I put this video issue to bed. Hope to use it in my studio because it's so quiet... Very nice in the sound department.
    Enjoy,
    --Bryan

    Good news...
Well I managed to locate a rev B version of the DVI-ADC adapter. First good news is the price is now down to $99 from the original $150. Second good news is that the /B version seems to work. No more flicker!!
Hey Michael L... Thanks for the suggestion it worked!!
So while this isn't the cheapest solution, it does seem to work so far and considering the cost of a new 22 or 23" monitor vs. using my excellent 22" ADC Cinema Display I'm feeling OK about it.
So John you might want to give a rev. /B version of the adapter a try. BTW the actual adapter is absolutely identical to the REV /A version on the outside the only difference it the serial number is in a different range. If you buy an open box make sure the serial number matches on the box that shows the /B revision matches the actual unit.
Happy Hunting... They are not easy to find. Yeah I know this $600 Mac is starting to rack up the bucks but hey considering it has better performance than my original G4 Sawtooth that I paid like 5X as much for I can't complain too loud...
This will hold until Apple can produce a new truly drool worthy high end machine. The bar just went up with the introduction of the mini. The new once has got to be small, it's got to be silent and it goes with out saying it's got to be so fast it will make you cry. Until then I'll use what I have right now...
Next I need to track down a good 1GB stick of ram for the Mini...
    Enjoy,

    On Second thoughts...
I don't really know how well Logic Express 7 performs on the Mac Mini because I have not yet had the chance to experience the two together. Don't let that put you off the idea though! From my understanding of the system requirements printed on the Logic Express homepage, it states that a G4 or faster system is required, however Apple personally recommend a Dual G4 or G5 is recommended alongside a minimum of 512MB of Ram. This Does mean that Logic Express will run on the Mac Mini but you will most probably find it lags when moving samples in real time and rendering them onto your hard drive. If you really want to enjoy making "serious" music on the Mac then you really need to be looking at the iMac G5 or the iMac Core Duo (Intel) purely for your tempers sake. As for an Intel Mac Mini, there is no indication as to when we will be seeing one on the market and therefore you may find yourself on the fence between keeping your fixed budget and holding on a little or jumping in and getting on the right road to a digital musical life - mac style.
Maybe this will inspire your decision:

  • DVI KVM switch to use with iMac and Cinema Display

I currently have a 20" iMac that I use with a 20" Cinema Display. I'd like to share the Cinema display between the iMac and a Dell computer. Assuming this can be done, are there any recommendations for a DVI-KVM switch? Most important is no loss in video quality when the Cinema display is used with the iMac. The Dell is seldom used and even a straight DVI switch without mouse and keyboard sharing would be OK.

I am also trying to link a Mac Mini and a HP PC with an nVidia FX5500 graphics card via a KVM switch. The mini works fine but the PC does not sync up and the screen is blank and the little white light on the lower right is blinking.

Yes - well you have to make the file in a word processing Application.
You could use TextEdit (it's free) Pages (words only), or Numbers (data base) (they are part of iWorks - and may or may not be free (included) on your machine.  You could use MS Office (it is not free) You could use any Open source word processor that plays well with Office (NeoOffice, StarOffice) they are free.
That's how you create content and copy/paste URLS. Then you save the file to the desktop. If you are going to make more than one file... you make a folder on the desktop and save, or drag the file(s) into it.
You attach it to your e-mail client which will compress it and e-mail it. An excellent reference is to use Help, from the menu bar, also from inside any application. From your library or book store the OS X for Dummies has a lot of useful information (you don't read it cover to cover but look up chapters about what you'd like to do)
You can also make appointments at your local Apple store for individualized help (if a store is nearby)

  • NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 with Apple 23" Cinema Display?

    Hi,
I would like to know if my graphic card in my Sony Vaio PC is compatible with a 23" Apple display ? I would like to run a splitter with one feed going to my Mac Pro and the other to my PC utilizing the same Apple LCD monitor.
I have a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 with 128Mb, this card has a PCI connection, but I am not sure if my card could support the Apple 23" Cinema Display that I recently purchased to replace the 19" Envison LCD that I'm currently using ?
Does anyone have an idea ?
Is there a list somewhere giving compatble graphic card ?
The nvidia site does not say a word about cinema display !
    Thanks in advance

Apple doesn't make compatibility information known
    for non-Apple systems.
    But yes, they do.
Here is the list of tested video cards for the ACDs:

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

Hi were you able to resolve yours?
I was very worried losing all my medical stuff on my iPad Air 2, plus i have nothing to use for the next day! So i have to try all the possible things i read on the internet!! And this worked on my part (Thank God, and thank you Google)
    Perform a hard reboot
Hold down the Home button and Power button on your iPhone or iPad and keep holding them until you see the Apple logo. Once you do, you can let go. When your device boots back up, go ahead and check to see if the apps have started re-downloading. If they still appear to be stuck, continue on.

You will need to use an external DVD drive to run the disc installer that came you your machine. You can also do it with another Mac using the Remote Install Max OS X app. Finely, if you have access to another computer, you could burn the install image on a USB thumb drive, boot from that, erase the drive and run the installer.
