Cinematic Tab missing Recon3d PCIe Windows 8.1

I was upgrading the Creative software for my Recon3d sound card then i realized that the cinematic tab is missing now. any clues??

Hi dsmall2112,
I think you answered your own question again.  The upgrade from Win 8 basic will only go to 8.1 basic.  The key you have will only work on the Win. 8 basic and the upgrade to 8.1 will still only give you 8.1 basic, with that key.
In order to get Win 8.1 Pro features, you will have to buy a Win 8.1 Pro key.
Regards,
Dave

  • ZXR Cinematic tab missing

I have my DB Pro connected and I have the advanced tab showing in the control panel. However, the Cinematic tab is missing. It used to be there before. The optical out is working on the DB Pro, but the Cinematic tab does not show, even after system restart. Something is not right with these drivers/software. I uninstalled and then re-installed the drivers and still the same thing. I am currently using the SBZxR_CD_LD_1_00_16.exe drivers released on April 12. Anybody have this problem?
Edit: I tried installing the card on the PCIEX1 slot. No difference.
    Specs:
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
MoBo: Gigabyte UD5H (The soundcard is installed on PCIEX8 slot)
    CPU: Intel 3770K
    GPU: Gigabyte GTX 670 OC
    RAM: 8 GB
SSD: Mushkin Chronos Deluxe 240 GB
    Soundcard: Creative SB ZxR
    Speakers: Logitech Z-5500

Anybody able to help? My issue is somewhat related to the article posted by Creative:
    http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowA...spx?sid=112337
However, I am only getting the Advanced Tab and not the Cinematic when I have my DB Pro connected. So, I have no access to Dolby Digital Live or DTS Connect. Also, I noticed that Creative has been selling those features separate for previous X-Fi cards. Is it possible that something got messed up in the registry when I swapped PCIE slots and now those feature have been disabled?
I originally installed the ZxR on a PCIEX1 slot. I didn't like having it so snug against my graphics card, so I moved it to PCIEX8. The Cinematic tab was initially working and I am not sure when it disappeared. I have uninstalled the drivers and software each time I have swapped slots and I have not been able to recover the Cinematic tab. Some help would be nice....

  • Drop outs, and stuttering Sound Blaster Recon3D PCie Window 8 32bit.

There are other much older threads on this subject but none I could find with the above combination.
    My PC environment:
    N2M4 SLI ASUS motherboard
    AMD X64 5400
    4 gig's DDR2 RAM
Windows 8 Pro 32bit (not a clean install but an upgrade from XP-Pro SP-3)
    SB Recon3D PCie sound card
    Nividia GeForce 9800 graphic card.
The on board audio chipset is disabled, it's drivers deleted.
All drivers and Bios packages are up to date.
I am not a gamer and this SC is only used with music and video playback.
I have a frequent hang, and stutter (H&S) problem which started with the installation of the new Sound Blaster card. I had and ancient Audigy 2 from which I only used it's coaxial digital output this card did not have the H&S but the 3.5mm jack failed so a replacement was needed. The H&S problem started with the new card. It does it with both the analog and optical digital output. It is apparently the SC that is doing this. I have two other outputs I use for music playback, USB and DLNA the H&S problem is not exhibited with these two play back methods.
I have watched the system monitors to see if I can spot what is going on. CPU usage runs 50% or less usually a lot less, and the RAM is also not taxed. What I do see is a split second spike in CPU usage to somewhere around 70% when the stutter hits. This is not reflected in the usage graphic for the RAM. I have adjusted the digital, and analog buffers, I have also changed the file bit depth, etc, to try and mitigate the problem at in both cases it does not fix the problem.
This SB Recon3D PCie is the 6th Sound Blaster card I have purchased over the last decade plus and the first one I have had any trouble with, If there is a solution I would like to hear of it, and hopefully this will be addressed in a driver update very soon, if not, well, there is always the ASUS Zonar Essence.

I have fixed the dropout and stuttering problem. It was not Creative fault but instead it was caused by the malicious site blocker package that was loaded by Malwarebytes in February. I loaded DPC Latency Checker and watched it's real time graph and the latency was through the roof, something was eating my computer alive and it was not my SB Recon3D PCie card that was doing it Turning off Malwarebytes fixed the problem. Before I dumped the MWBS I checked in at it support forum and they where getting flamed over the malicious site blocker and locking up XP machines so I turned it off on my Windows 8 machine and instantly fixed the problem now my new Creative Sound card sounds great like all of the other SB card I have had over the years. Anyone having this problem load DPC Latency Checker, it is freeware, and see if you have a latency issue that is causing your problem.

  • First tab missing in second window

I have multiples tabs opened in 2 browser windows. Every time I exited Firefox by choosing File - Exit so that the tabs can be opened when Firefox is launched.
This works fine on version 9. After the upgrade (since 10.0.1), the first tab in 2nd window is missing. It can still be opened by choosing tab groups, but not visible on tab bar. Furthermore, the "Open a new tab" button appear at left of tabs instead of right side, which is in between the missing tab and the rest of the tabs.

    Not working.
The + button is already on the right in customize menu.
Cor-el solution works, but it has to be done every time the browser is re-open. Plus, the + button is in between the first and the rest of the tabs. So, I would say is a bug. I will log it in as a bug in bug tracker.

    Hello,
    ''jstavene wrote:''
can find nothing under the tools menu for private browsing?
Then it's not the same issue.
If Firefox is set to '''Never remember history''', then you're in “permanent private browsing” mode, in which case the menu item ''Stop Private Browsing'' will be grayed out. Perhaps that's the case, and you don't find the menu item easy to see?
    * [[Settings for privacy, browsing history and do-not-track]]
If that's not the case, then menu items can be hidden using the userChrome.css file. Check if it exists, and if it's there, rename it, then restart Firefox.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserChrome.css
In Firefox Nightly (what will become Firefox 20), per-window private browsing has been added, so the menu item under the Tools menu is gone. It's been replaced by New Private Window under the File menu. I don't suppose it's very likely that you're using such a cutting-edge test version of Firefox though.
If that doesn't solve the problem, since it's a different issue, it would be best if you would ask a new question.

  • How do I move a group of tabs before closing a window?

I recently lost all my custom settings on Firefox after an aggressive tech support person "cleaned" my browser settings. When this happened, I lost the ability to move my open tabs to a new group before closing the window they were in.
Previously, when I had multiple windows open, and I initiated an "Exit" or "Close" command on one of the open windows, 2 things happened:
    (1) First I received a warning message asking me if I wanted to close the window
    (2) Then I received a second warning message asking me if I wanted to move my tabs before closing the window.
Now, I only receive the 1st message, and I am no longer offered the option of moving my tabs to a new window before closing the current window.
I've tested this both with and without the Tabs Group Manager which I was using prior to the time my browser was "cleaned", and I still have not found a way to restore this missing feature.
Unfortunately, I don't know if this feature/option is:
-- provided as a default in Firefox
-- a customizable feature in Firefox, or
    -- a feature in a Firefox add-on.
Can anyone tell me where/how to restore this option to move a group of tabs before closing a window?
    Thanks,
    Metta

Thank you, guigs2, for your feedback, and my apologies for the confusion. After rereading my question, I realize I made a couple of typos in my original help request which cannot now be corrected. Specifically, the 2nd sentence in the first paragraph should have read:
"I lost the ability to move GROUPS of open tabs to a new WINDOW before closing the window they were in."
This means that, as far as I can tell, neither of your plugin recommendations applies:
-- Apparently, Tab Mix Plus only applies to manipulating tabs WITHIN the existing window and, unless I am missing something, I did not see any reference to the option I'm looking for -- specifically, an automatic prompt offering to move groups of tabs to a new window before closing the existing window.
-- Unfortunately, the other plugin you mentioned (Tag Cloud) appears to be non-functional in the current version of Firefox, based on the most recent user reviews.
In light of this, I will consider the possibility of resubmitting my question with the typos corrected -- and, in the meantime, if there is any additional feedback that you (or anyone else) can offer, I would be most grateful!

  • Download manager and download tab missing in options box.

The download manager and download tab missing in options box when I dropdown tool in menu bar.

The default Firefox Options window doesn't have a separate tab for Downloads, those prefs are on the General tab below Startup.

  • Firefox sporadically moves my current tab to a new window.

About 2-3 times per week, I'll be browsing with multiple tabs open, and Firefox will suddenly "close" my current tab and re-open it in a new window. I say "close" because the tab is not listed under "Recently Closed Tabs." Rather, Firefox seems to just move the tab to a new window.
I thought maybe there was a keyboard shortcut for this that I was accidentally hitting, but I can't find what the shortcut for that would be. Did I just miss it?
The site I'm visiting doesn't seem to matter, as it's happened with different sites, including my webmail service, Google, and Facebook. The number of tabs open doesn't seem to matter either, as it's happened with 50+ tabs and just now happened with 24 tabs (which is low for me).

Firefox 3.5/6 versions have a feature called ''tear-off tabs''.
You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.

  • Voices output from Creative Recon3D PCIe are low

    Hi all,
I had been using Creative Audigy 4 on windows XP for 4 years.
Recently, I bought a new PC running windows 7 ultimate and with Creative Recon3D PCIe installed.
After the software installation for Creative Recon3D PCIe was done, I tried to play a music track in Window media player.
I could hear the bass, but I found that the human voices (singer voices) were too low to be heard. I needed to turn up the volume to 53db before I could hear the voices.
The problem that the voice was low never happened on my sound blaster audigy 4, but it just happened on Creative Recon3D PCIe.
I have tried out all possible methods, including doing the setting in windows 7 for the two speakers, but with no success.
    Please give me some help.
    Thank you.
    Kitty

  • Safari New Tabs vs. New Window

when i use safari on any computer weather it be a Mac or a PC, Safari doesn't allow me to click on a link and it open in a new tab. I know that you can go into preferences/general tab, and at the bottom select open links in new tab or window. I've done that. Just the other day, on my friends "BRAND NEW" Mac Book, I tested it out the same way. When you click a link in any page Safari will only open it in a new window.. Why does it not open in new tabs? The only way I can get a new tab is by Ctrl T/Command T... or by using the display menu... Also, FYI, I do have the latest version of Safari and I did try it after I downloaded the Latest Upgrade.. I think this problem is everywhere and its because Apple has not found out about it..

There is a downfall to the terminal-entry hack/mod... it forces everything into a new tab. Pop-up from a Web-App? get's it's own tab, not the small window the app was trying to open. Using an online video app which usually pops up a small window with the video? Now it gets it's own tab... :/
It's annoying to not have links open to Tabs but also the 'hard coding' to force everything into a tab has it's drawbacks too.
I agree: Apple should just have this feature. Even IE has had it for quite some time... although not set by Default when it first rolled-out. And of course Firefox has it.
    <rant>
Side-comment: Love Apple stuff to no end after being a Windows admin for over 13 years... but wow sometimes it seems like Apple completely misses the basics. Like this crazy thing my original Palm Pilot in 1995 had... cut-and-paste... good thing the iPhone... just ... got... that. :/ And why can't I cut-and-paste a file? :/ And then of course why doesnt Safari let me open new links in Tabs?
    </rant>
Any way to find a happy medium where Safari opens a link in a new window unless the link specifies the dimensions of the window to open and/or specifies a separate window?

  • SBZ re-installing itself as SB Recon3D PCIe

    Hello,
I use the latest driver from Creative's website and my OS is 8.1 Pro x64.
I've been having this problem where after first installing it in a PCIe slot and then installing drivers it's fine...BUT after a day or two if I have completely shut down the PC and turn it on the sound card in the device manager changes from Sound Blaster Z Audio Controller to SB Recon3D PCIe. When I try opening the SBZ control panel I get "The current selected audio device is disabled, not present, not supported by the application, or has unplugged jack connections. Do you want to select another audio device now?"
This ALWAYS happens. Uninstalling and reinstalling the driver shows up as Recon3D. The only way I can get it back to normal is to uninstall drivers, physically remove the card, install it back, and then install the drivers. And I've tried this method on multiple PCIe slots.
I've also disabled the onboard audio in the BIOS and did not install the HDMI audio drivers that's included with my AMD GPU just in case.
Has anyone else experienced this on 8.1 Pro x64? I tried using older drivers but they're not supported. I guess the latest on Creative's website added 8.1 support.

    Hi dinopkk,
thanks for the suggestion. This might be a useful but currently i have no intention to reinstall my OS(WIn 7 x64) just to get one device working. My MB F2A55-M has a Compatibilty Manager for UEFI and Legacy Devices and worked fine in the past. I'll have a look whenever I might need a fresh OS install. Thank you!
@Colin-CL: I can confirm this problem with the SB-Z plugged into a x1 PCIe slot. As suggested only a complete uninstall, physically removing the card and reinstalling the latest driver package works for a while. The problem will come back if windows update is in the mood to "update" your drivers... Cheers.

  • New Window from "FILE- NEW-WINDOW" duplicates all the currently open tabs in the new window. I want new window with just the "Home" tab please?

    Running Firefox 3.6.13 on 64Bit Win7.
I like to group tabs on a topic in a window, and when the tabs get to be too many, or a new topic, I do FILE->NEW-WINDOW and expect a new window with just one default (Home) tab. Instead I get a new window with ALL the tabs of the first window.
I have checked all the Options I could find. Nothing helped. I CAN make a new Window with just one tab if I right-click a link and say "Open in NEW Window".

A new window should only open with the home page(s).<br />
If you see differently then you need to check your extensions.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
