Cineplex APP for Playbook 32gig

This app works on all my blackberry phones, but not my only Playbook.  Asks for Geolocation Request (Allow) then a message comes up.  WARNING, COULD NOT CONNECT TO THE SERVER.  PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER.
Has anyone successfully figured this one out?  Been searching for an answer out there, with no success.

Hello and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

  • Free app for playbook

wish there a more free app for playbook.
there are more free stuff for bb phone than playbook ...

Yes there are games and apps for the Playbook. However. Hardly anyone is developing apps for the Playbook anymore, though.
If they're not available now I doubt they'll ever be available.

  • Sayit App for Playbook doesn't work

I cannot get Sayit for the BB Playbook to work. The program states to allow permissions for mic but I don't have any settings to do so After numerous reinstalls (3 different playbooks) still doesn't work. The company doesn't respond to my emails so It leaves me with the impression they are a bogus outfit. Anyone else stuck with apps from BB App world for Playbook that don't work ? Be nice if someone could set up a thread that says which ones work and which don't. This would save time and money for people who pay for an app and then don;t get support ,.At $5.00 per app and maybe thousands of user who download it !!!

Apple doesn't vet or test apps. those apps meet certain requirements and they're in the app store. Look through there, you'll see plenty of 0 or 1 star apps.
There are millions of apps and Apple doesn't vet them.
the facebook app hasn't worked right in years, Apple doesn't care, it's up to Facebook to make their app work. Same applies to Charter
they will not make a developer make their app work well, they let 'survival of the fittest' rule...good apps get good ratings, bad apps get poor ratings, well rated apps rise to the top, poorly rated apps fall to the bottom.

  • Where to find apps for Playbook only?

I do not own a Playbook yet, but likes te buy one. First I want to see which apps are available for the Playbook. It is hard to find apps in the http://appworld.blackberry.com because most of them are for BB-phones, not foor tablets.
Is there a way to filter apps only for Playbook?
I like Evernote, but it is not for Playbook available. ( http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/1700/?countrycode=NL )
Or is there an app-store for Playbook only? Where I, as an interested customer, can look around?
    A To-do-list app like MyTasks?  I can't find one.
    Thanks

  • Notepad like app for Playbook

Does anyone know if there is a basic Note app for the playbook? I know we have Word to Go  on the Playbook but a nice basic text note pad application would be nice...

    Hey michaelwhyte,
    Welcome to the forums.
When the BlackBerry Playbook is bridged to a BlackBerry you will have access to your MemoPad and Tasks. You can also search in BlackBerry App World for a note pad application.
    Hope this helps.

  • IM app for Playbook that works with iPhones?

Is there still no instant messaging app that will work between a Blackberry Playbook and an iPhone? Since Playbooks still don't run OS 10 there seems no hope in sight >.<

Hmm, I'm not to sure about that (no cradle), as I saw a cradle from a BMW post and it was for an iPOD (about a few years ago), the cig lighters are not such a good idea, I know someone that works at Apple and he says they get returned all the time as there is to much noise.
So, there has to be something seeing how it's set up for Sirius, and there was a CRADLE and since SIRIUS is offering a program soon for the iPhone, and its coming from Sirius, there must be a manufature that is planning on a cradle.
On the current cradle, there is a LINE OUT and one other (not line in) which looks like (both) are the 1/8th mini jack(s), same as iPhone.
Ideas besides cigarette lighter? Does anyone have a cigarette lighter method for 3G that works without noise? Or where else can I post, look?
    Thanks

  • VCMS App for PlayBook - No Install Icon

I'm having a really strange problem with one app that I bought several months ago.  VCMS is installed and working on my 9850 phone.  At one time it was also installed and working on my PlayBook.  However, I wiped the PlayBook to start fresh after some other problems started arising, and now I can't reinstall it anymore.  The strange thing about it, is that it shows up in App World on the PlayBook, but there are no buttons for install/purchase/uninstall.  I have emailed i-Mentalist support and they tell me that it is not a problem with the app itself, but a problem with App World.  As of the latest OS update pushed out today, it still has not corrected the problem.
Before I installed the latest OS update, I have wiped the PB twice with no luck.  The PB has been rebooted several times.  I'm puzzled and quite annoyed.
    Anyone have any ideas?

I think you'll find that's the source of the issue.
There are limitations to the number of PIN changes for applications. You might have hit the ceiling.
Go back to i-mentalist and ask them to make sure the license for your copy is for your PlayBook PIN.
I know the guys there, they will do the right thing for you if it is indeed something they can control from their end.

  • Buying apps for playbook

    Hi, need some help please.
I have just bought a playbook as a christmas present for my daughter.
Is the a voucher similar to itunes to allow a teenager to purchase apps, as i don't fancy letting her loose with my card!!

There isn't as far as I know, but if you drag down from the top in the BlackBerry World app and click on settings you can set to be always prompted for a password before purchasing so at least if your daughter wants anything she will need to ask you to enter this first.
If you've been helped click on , if you've been saved buy the app.

  • App Dev has released FREE Bookmarking App For PlayBooks - It's awesome!

I have the pleasure of informing you that a new PlayBook Application Developer named Kate Swasing has tackled and effectively tamed a long standing problem with the PlayBook's web browser - organizing bookmarks and she has done so in a very functional way. I'd highly encourage you to download and install this application.
Her application is called SiteBook and here is the direct link to it in BlackBerry World.
    Instructions
    Version: 1.0.12
    Released: Apr 10th, 2013
    File Size: 825 KB
    Rated:General
    COST: FREE
Here is a copy/paste of her app description:
SiteBook allows you to create and organize your website bookmarks, notes and tasks:
    - Add items as websites, notes or tasks
    - Tap a website item to open it in the Browser
    - Launch SiteBook immediately before or after launching your Browser, and it'll always be just a single swipe away while browsing the web
    - Create custom categories to organize your items
    - Filter your items by category
    - Export your items as text files
    - Backup and restore your data from an external file
Permissions: SiteBook will ask for permission to access your shared files. This is required if you wish to export your notes or back up your data, but is not required for SiteBook to function otherwise.
Kate has graciously listed her application as a free download and I would suggest that if you download and install her application and find it useful, to provide a positive review in BlackBerry World.
April 10th Update has fixed this issue: The author notes that there was a bug discovered, which has subsequently been fixed and is awaiting update on BlackBerry world, that would only allow URL's to be posted in lowercase. She has fixed this and as soon as the update goes live, it will be reflected in the new release of the app.
She is also developing a Twitter application and if it's as useful as SiteBook, then I am sure it will be a success also.
For those who wish to follow along, she has posted an official thread over in the CrackBerry forums. Here is a link to that thread: http://forums.crackberry.com/playbook-apps-games-f243/new-app-sitebook-792203/#post8287870

  • More apps for Playbook

Playbook is Great but it lacks some good apps.

grissom, are you saying that RIM is still supporting the Playbook?  I had no idea!
Well, I missed out on Betamax.  No one in my family ever owned a Tucker. But I'll be able to tell my grandchildren that I once owned a Playbook...

  • ??Netflix for Playbook app or Android Player???

    Hello
Does anyoneknow when the netflix app for Playbook will be available or when the android player will be available?

Probably end of 2015. RIM Executives have no clue, with the holidays coming up how could the not have at least some of the features of the 2.0 upgrade available. Whats up with these dudes?

  • How do you contact the people at App World (for PlayBook)...

Does anybody know who I need to talk to regarding App World (for the playbook). It really gripes me when you write a constructive review for an app, but the vender then removes it - surely, this should not be allowed (as it can lead to customers being mislead). I wrote the following review for the UK on-device GPS Map app, and guess what, it was removed!
Not as impressed as i thought it would be for the following reasons:1. Incomplete maps - I've lived in my house for over ten years, yet my housing estate doesn't show up on the map (I wonder if this is the case elsewhere???)!
    2. Map scale - When I'm out and about, and zoom into the map, it doesn't always rescale itself; rendering the map useless.
    3. GPS Location - Once the App finds your location, and you then move, it doesn't then replot your movement on the map; to re-establish your position, you have keep repressing the button - very poor!
    4. Finally, the App just keeps crashing! Your using it, then it just switches off.
Considering all the above, and the price of this App (£9.99!), I am really disapointed. Please fix the issues identified or refund asap.
    Cheers...

Possibly the best bet is simply discussing it here.  RIM tends to like such feedback to be filtered through the forum, I presume because allowing much direct contact would overwhelm them (these days, with negative feedback!).  It's also reasonable in that it gives other people here (users like you, and developers) a chance to comment, expand the discussion, correct misconceptions, and so on.  As I understand it, RIM tries to monitor these forums, and in the cases where they may not notice a particular concern, some of the long-time participants have back-channels to escalate serious concerns to their attention.  I'm pretty sure they watch the "big picture", and if enough people complain about something, I'm pretty sure they take notice and engage in internal discussions to decide what to do about it.  (My main problem with this whole process is that they almost never provide any external feedback to us, even to let us know they recognize certain problems.  For example, the PlayBook rapid charger quality problems... it's incontrovertibly a defect, but there's been no sign of any recognition of that on their part.)
That said, I sympathize with you.  I'm disgusted by that map vendor's products and behaviour, as I think they give the rest of us devs a bad name, not to mention "hogging" too much of the space in the Newest and Recently Updated lists, among other things.
I'll note one thing, however, though I don't like the idea I might actually be seen as defending them.  On the map quality topic, those maps are actually using the OpenStreetMap data, aren't they?  (Visit http://openstreetmap.org)  If so, the quality of the data isn't something that vendor has control over... OSM is basically just like Wikipedia, in that the content is almost entirely generated by volunteers, people like you and I, who have chosen to contribute.  (I've edited OSM for my own town, adding many missing roads, fixing spelling errors, etc.)
If that's true, then I think the vendor ought to have made that very clear to their customers.  I'm not too surprised they did not, however, since I believe they knew they couldn't charge people $10 for a poor quality app that was merely giving you access to map data that cost the vendor nothing to provide.
Have you tried contacting the vendor and demanding a refund?  It is possible for developers to request that RIM arrange a refund, as I understand it.

  • Repackaging Android Viewer App for BlackBerry PlayBook

    Hi,
Does anyone have tried this? If yes, then was repackaged Viewer working OK on the PlayBook? What tools/utilitiies were used for repackaging as there are few available:
    https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/android/
    http://crackberry.com/how-install-android-market-and-other-applications-your-blackberry-pl aybook
"The BlackBerry PlayBook is a tablet like no other. The powerful QNX Real Time Operating System embedded within allows it run an entirely different operating system as another application on top of the standard PlayBook OS. This is how the PlayBook will run repackaged Android applications. For the most part, though, repackaged apps will appear to run just like regular PlayBook applications."
    Thank you,
    Gennady
Update: This compatibility test determines how compatible your app  is with the BlackBerry PlayBook OS:
    https://bdsc.webapps.blackberry.com/android/bpaa/apk-compatibility-check
And this is a result for Android Market Installer build with Sprint 19 Viewer Builder:
Your application is not compatible with the BlackBerry® Runtime for Android™ Apps.
Your application uses a feature which is incompatible with the current version of the BlackBerry® Runtime for Android™ Apps. We recommend that you download the BlackBerry® Plug-in for ADT to test your application and remove features as required.
    4. Severe incompatibilities found
    Impact     Type     Reason
    3     uses-permission     com.android.vending.BILLING
So if In-app Billing would be optional checkbox for Android app with the optional use of com.android.vending.BILLING in the code, then I guess it will be possible to repackage Viewer for PlayBook. And yes, Amazon Appsstore Installer is compatible with the BlackBerry Runtime for Android Apps.

OS2 for the Playbook is still in beta at this point, should be released sometime next month.
So your problem is not that you can't find any apps, you just can't find the one(s) you're looking for.
