CIPC Automatic Gain Control

I am us CIPC 7.0.  We are trying to use it in conjunction with Cisco Unified Video Advantage.  Whe have purchased  a Logitech USB Conference phone type device. FOr some reason while trying to tweek our volume controls, the Automatic Gain Control (AGC) of CIPC takes over the mic volume and rachets it up real high.  By the software doing this, it is creating Aucustical Echo.  I read about a bug in an older version of CIPC where you could kill AGC.  Is there a way to do if for 7.0 versions and above?
Please help me out!

Nope - doesn't work. Clipped samples show up in "Amplitude Statistics" but when I go to the Diag panel - select "DeClipper" and "Scan" - NO problems are detected.

  • Would like to see an automatic gain control on

When using the EQ on the Zen Touch (and other Creative Labs players) it is possible to raise the volume of a given frequency upto +2db, however when one does this, the additional 2db may cause the audio to clip. Normally equalizers have an AGC (automatic gain control) or master volume control that would drop the volume by the same amount that the EQ had raised it by thus preventing clipping. For example, if you raise the volume of the 00hz frequency by +2db to increase the bass, the AGC would drop the preamp volume -2db to prevent clipping in the 00hz frequency. I would like to see Creative add this feature so that a user does not have to drop the gain of their MP3 files by -2db before uploading them inorder to ensure that there will be no clipping when using the EQ.Message Edited by mfowler on 03-08-2005 07:29 AM

If this was not the correct place, could you point me in the right direction. I am not a person to build such an app, but I don't know where one could pose the question..
Not sure where to post this other than in this topic hoping that developers might be looking here.
Now that Dataviz discontinued MacLink Deluxe, there are no good apps to convert old WriteNow (one of the early Mac word processers) into a modern format. Sure MS office "kind of" works, but I would defenitely buy an app that only converted (similar to MacLink) old WriteNow 3 and 4 documents into either rtf or doc formats that can be used today.
Sorry if this is not the place to post such a thing.
MacLink was good, but had way to many complicated, bloated options. It would be nice just to have a simple app to convert this old format. Maybe alternative apps of this kind could then be purchased to convert more of the file formats that MacLink converted. I think you would sell more of an app that just converted one older file format, however.

  • Problem with Automatic Gain Control Example

I tried to open AGC example here, i'm using labview 2013 and installed DSP module 8.6 but it didn't work.
The project give warning at DSK6416,DSK6711,DSK6713 and speedy-33 and the VIs AGC, EMB sinewave form can't be found.
I tried to install Speedy-33 driver separetly but it said that a later version is already installed.

Unfortunately, teh DSP module is discontinued. There is no DSP Module available for LabVIEW 2009 or later. The version you have will only work for LabVIEW 8.6 or 8.6.1.
This is another post with the same problem just for reference.

  • Automatic Gain Control (AGC) Implementation for custom IR camera

    Hi All,
We are working on a custom IR camera, in which we could find heavy blooming effect. So we need to implement the AGC programmatically.
We have tried to adjust the integration time of the camera but were not successful in eliminating blooming problem.

  • Disable On-clip Gain Control

How do I disable the on-clip gain control for SELECTIONS?
Preferences only allows it to be toggled for NON-selection.
My work flow in editing a recorded lecture in Audition 2.0 was to left-click and drag a selection and with the button still down, hit the space bar to play from the beginning of the selection.  This made life so easy in finding the correct starting word for a selection to be deleted.  However, this feature is effectively removed in 3.0 because the selection cannot be played while the LMB is down.  It seems to be because the on-clip gain control cannot be drawn/displayed and thus allow playback of the selection until the button is released.  This defeats the purpose of being able to drag the selection to a new waveform modulation and play to see if it is the right word to include or exclude from the selection.  That is, in 2.0 the selection was DYNAMIC during playback (I could change it WHILE it was being played).  In 3.0 selections can't be played while continuing to adjust the selection in ONE mouse-drag action.  Boo.  Hiss.
So, I'm assuming that IF the on-clip gain can be totally disabled, then my habitualized 2.0 dynamic selection workflow would be applicable in 3.0.  Since this doesn't appear to be an option in the prefs, is there an external hack/edit of some config file to do so?
    Thanks.

Thanks.  I figured as much, but you never know... maybe Adobe reads these forums and there's an actual human being that cares enough to add this to an update patch.
    [edit]
Actually, I should have done a better search.  A new one found this... http://forums.adobe.com/message/1983533#1983533  which "solves" the issue of the control being displayed in a selection, BUT, even when this View option is unchecked, the selection still will not play (via space bar) when the LMB is down, so it's not the refreshing/display of the on-clip gain control that's the problem, it must be an internal code change.  DOUBLE BUGGER!
OK... time to add another request in the Features forum to get them to "bring back" the "old" way.

  • Urgent:  Need help in automatic credit control

    Hi SD Seniors
Please help me in the URGENT Credit check Control Configuration.
According to the user requirement, need to have simple static credit control in the place of sales order & delivery.
When credit check fails during the order creation,
    1.     Wants to popup the warning message without blocking the delivery
    2.     And wants to block the delivery from the PGI process.
I have already done the necessary credit check configuration in my test system.  Based on the simple credit limit check,
System issues the warning message correctly at the time of order creation.
And I have configured the automatic credit check control configuration for the blocking the delivery PGI steps.  But system doesn’t block
The delivery and it still allow proceeding for PGI without any error message.
Please refer by below automatic credit control check for blocking the delivery.  Please let me know, is there any other step I missed out here.
    1. Credit control area is assigned to the company code.
    2. Credit control area is assigned to the sales area.
    3. Credit control area is assigned to the payer.
    5. OBZK:   Assigned
    7.  Risk category for each credit control area.
    8. OVA8:  -Credit control area + Risk category + Credit group
    9.  FD32:  -Credit limit, Risk category, Currency:  assigned
    10. OVA7/VOV7: - Activated correctly
    11. V/08: -  Pricing Procedure subtotal set to A
    12. OB45:  - Update Group 00012
Your help is very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

Karan, Thanks For you Quick Response.
    OVO8:  Cr.Ctrl.Area + Rick.Catg + Credit.Group (03)
The same credit group was assigned to the OVAD also.
OVAD: Dely.credit.grp = 03   (Credit group for goods issue)
    AND
GI.Credit.group = 03 (Credit group for goods issue)
    Is it correct?
My doubt is where exactly, we are telling the system to block the delivery.
In OV08, could you please tell me what are all the settings need to be done for
    block delivery PGI

  • Credit management automatic credit control use of credit group

    Hello gurus
1)In the credit management we have credit groups( which enables us to combine different sales
document types for the purposes of credit management).
In the simple credit check also we will assign the doc types to check the credit. Then please tell me why we need credit groups in automatic credit control? Here also we can assign the doc types to check the credit ?then what exactly is the use of credit group ?
2)where will we specify the total credit amount allowed of the credit control area?
3)In the automatic credit control (ova8) against to static check box option we have open orders and open delivers checkboxes. is this two boxes only specific to static or it also belongs to dyanic?
Is it necessary to check this boxes?
4)is any one have used any of the routines in automatic credit control( document controlling tab we have no credit check field here we specify the routine? If any business need please share with me
Thank you in advance for all the replies

    Hi
For your 1st query , In credit mgmt we assign credit grps to sales document type. So as you said we will assign credit grps at simple credit check and coming to the Automatic credit check we assign credit grp for the sales document type also .But the difference is credit grp can be at order level or Delivery Level or PGI level in OVA8 in Automatic credit check .
Coming to your 2nd Query , we will specify the total credit limit in FD32.
For your 3rd query , In OVA8 apart from the static check we check the boxes open orders and open deliveries also because  once you activate Automatic credit check and once you maintain credit limit for any customer then system will check the open orders and open deliveries also of that customer
Coming to your last query the routine feild can be used when some requirements have to be fulfilled then only automatic credit check should work for  customers. or else the sales order ->delivery->PGI will happen normally

  • How do I gain control....

How do I gain control of my F14 and F15 keys on the keyboarde of my G5? Right now they are taken up by brightness and dimming controls that are redundant since I have those on the monitor itself (Apple 23) and badly need those to assign functions in some of my apps. Can't seem to find a spot in the System Preferences where I can disable these.

There is no way. I asked this question months ago and got no answers.
The only thing that came close was an app called Mac Pilot that is supposed to make it possible to change lots of hidden settings. I sent them an email and they said it could do it but I never got around to trying it.
I did some Google searching and someone had a way to do it with some complex Terminal operation but I didn't want to deal with it.
I have Quickeys set up to perform all kinds of things on my Mac and have long ago run out of easy keystrokes and would like those free as well.

  • Automatic credit control

We use in our company automatic credit control. For one of our customers not credit control data have been maintened (fd32) therefore there is no credit group assigned to him.
When I try to make a sales order for this customer, the automatic credit control is turned on and I am unable to save the order since the next review data has passed (it is a check field in the automatic credit control for all customers that have credit control data).
    Any opinions?

    Hi,
If the customer concerned is not relevant for credit check, please remove the risk catigory under status screen in FD32

  • Audio-Echo Cancellation/Gain Control

I've recently downloaded skype to make phone calls. Unfortunately, the people i'm calling are complaining that there is an echo on their end of the call. Skype suggests changing the audio settings in preferences and checking off the boxes for echo cancellation and gain control. When i've gone into preferences, i do not have the option of echo cancellation/gain control. Anyone know how to access these options or any other way to reduce echo in using audio for phone calls?
    thanks

    More complete code:

    netConnection.connect("rtmp://whatever.com/phone");
    incomingNetStream = new NetStream(netConnection);

  • Why can't I alter the Gain control in the voiceover tool?

Whether I use my USB mic or normal mic plugged into Line In, I cannot increase the value of the Gain control slider.
    Any ideas?

    The problem is solved!
After reading how someone else lost this functionality after upgrading to ML, I booted into Snow Leopard (10.6.8) which I have installed on a Firewire hard drive, launched FCP X 10.0.7 and surprise, surprise  .  .  .  .
.  .  .  .  the Input Device Gain slider was working perfectly.
If anyone else using Mountain Lion 10.8.2 could check this out and let me know their results, I would be most obliged.
P.S. Some eagle-eyed reader may notice that my original screenshot showed the Record Audio tool set to "Built-in Input" and this screenshot shows the "Built-in Microphone" selected.
You can forget about that as I tested every setting several times in both ML and SL and the results were the same. It is just unfortunate that the screenshots show different settings.

  • Automatic Level Control.

I am transferring stereo audio cassettes into GB. I noticed that when I check Automatic Level Control, it always goes to 75%. Does this just start there and manually ride the audio or is it "smarter" in a digital way. I think the results with the auto level "on" sound good so far but I noticed a few sudden volume drops here and there. I am not sure if they came from the Auto Level. It's hard to find the exact spots on tape to compare since I've transferred a few hours worth already. Do I need to go back and just set my own levels? I do want to best possible copy. If so, can let it hit red on the peaks? (I don't hear it distort on the short peaks but I'm monitoring with crummy speakers now) Thanks!

In case anyone is curious, the Auto Level is not for quality recording. It was jumping the volume around after all. Be careful of this. That's how you learn a new program I guess I wanted to redo some other stuff anyway so no big loss.

  • ***AUTOMATIC FRAME CONTROLS

If you use a preset in Compressor, the frame controls are automatic for the most part.
    Quick Question:
Should you manually turn off frame controls when working with progressive footage?
The reason I ask is because I already noticed in the quality of the footage and by running various tests that when you use one of the DVD presets for progressive video, the field dominance doesn't correctly change to progressive when you have it set on automatic, and I just don't want the automatic frame controls to do any automatic deinterlacing if it doesn't recognize the progressive attributes.
    Thoughts?
    Thank you.

I would set it manually or turn it off. If you want a progressive output, remember that you might also need to set the field order to Progressive under the Encoder tab under *Video Format* on your MPEG-2 (m2v) setting.
If you do not deinterlace with Compressor, a DVD-player or LCD-TV will do it anyway in real-time, which most likely will look pretty bad. Also be aware that the Apple DVD Player application does automatic de-interlacing.
As Apple writes in the Compressor User Manual:
*Automatic button:* When this button is selected, Compressor analyzes the transcoding job (the source media file and the applied setting), and then automatically determines the appropriate Frame Controls attributes. For more information, see About the Automatic Settings.
In Automatic mode, Frame Controls technology is engaged in the following two types of transcodes only:
    • Transcoding from high definition (HD) sources to standard definition (SD) MPEG-2 output files
    • Transcoding from interlaced sources to H.264 for DVD Studio Pro and H.264 for Apple Devices (progressive) output files
Automatic mode when encoding to SD MPEG-2 does not necessarily de-interlace. You can open your .m2v-file in e.g. MPEG Streamclip and hit "cmd+i" to view info about the file. There you can double check if your finished file is interlaced or not and what field order it is set to.
You can learn more about *Frame Controls* by reading this excerpt from Apple Pro Training Series: Compressor 3.5 Quick Reference Guide, by Brian Gary.
A really helpful tip, is to set an in- and out-point in your Preview window in Compressor to see test results quicker. Testing different settings on long clips is both unnecessary and boring. Select about 10 to 30-seconds from an area in your clip that shows variety in your video (both fast moving and normal scenes).
Video compression, especially for web and DVD, is all about testing to find the optimal settings for best possible quality/filesize ratio. Almost every video source is unique, and should be looked at and tested with different settings depending on both source quality and content.
    Hope this helps

  • Update group in automatic credit control

    Hi Everybody,
Can anyone explain me the meaning of update group in automatic credit control screen OVA8.
Do we have to set this update or it happens when we start usinng?
    Regards,
    raghu

    Hi,
    More info on this ,
    <b>Credit update for open order/delivery/billing document value</b>
The credit update controls when the values of open sales orders, deliveries, and billing documents are updated.
    Note
The open order value is only updated for schedule lines that are relevant for delivery.
    Use
You can specify the following update groups for updating credit-related statistics:
    <b>Update group 000012</b>
    Sales order
Increases open order value from delivery-relevant schedule lines
    Delivery
Reduces open order value from delivery-relevant schedule lines
    Increases open delivery value
    Billing document
    Reduces open delivery value
    Increases open billing document value
    Financial accounting document
    Reduces open billing document value
    Increases open items
    Update group 000015
    Delivery
    Increases open delivery value
    Increases open billing document value
    Financial accounting document
    Reduces open billing document value
    Increases open items
    Update group 000018
    Sales order
    Increases open delivery value
    Billing document
    Reduces open delivery value
    Increases open billing document value
    Financial accounting document
    Reduces open billing document value
    Increases open items
    <b>Note</b>
If a document cannot be processed with the update group you specify, the system determines the next possible update it can carry out. For example, you select Update group 000012 which, at delivery, reduces the open order value and increases the open delivery value. Assume that one item in the order is not relevant for delivery. In this case, the system automatically determines Update group 000018 for this item. Update group 000018 increases the open delivery value for the order item. The system uses the confirmed quantity of delivery-relevant schedule lines to update the order value.
Hope it adds. Pl reward if helpful.
    Thanks & Regards
    Sadhu Kishore
