Circle icon on bottom right of image - what is it?

Well, my subject line says it all. I am trying to figure out what the heck the small circle/target icon on the bottom right of some of my images are... I understand when an adjustment is made a "fader/slider" icon is placed on the bottom right, but some of my images have this bulls-eye icon on it. What is this? I have searched the archives and the book that came in the box, but I could not find anything on this.

I have am running a mac 10.6.3 - 2.4ghz. Recently in the top menu bar an icon which looks like a spinning gear has popped up. When I click on it the message says "stop 'email image'". Purple icons represent a Smart Playlist and blue icons a normal one.
It has nothing to do with contents being available at the iTMS.
Are you sure the blue icon has a flower in it and not a musical note?
Burning a playlist on an CD-RW and playing it will work fine on your computer, but many Audio players and especially car CD-players don't like CD-RWs at all.
You can give it a try, but chances are it doesn't work.
To erase the CD-RW, you indeed have to use Disk Utility.
When you check the 'Quick Erase' checkbox, the entire disc will be zero-ed first. A 'full' erase can take a long time (about 20 minutes!! on my system).
Using a CD-R to burn your playlist however, will have a much higher chance of successful playback in your car CD-player.
The message about the gift etc. appears when you click on the small arrow next to the playlist's name. I can't remember having it show up on burning, but I might have ticked a 'don't show again' checkbox at first appearance.

I just upgraded to Firefox 4--what happened to the secure site icon at bottom of page?

I just upgraded from Firefox 3.6 to 4. There used to be a secure site icon at bottom right of secure pages. Clicking on the icon opened a window with all security info for that page. Now there is no icon. To get the same info I now have to click on the button in the address bar and then click again on the "more information" button. This is not intuitive and seems like a step backward. Is there a way to bring back the old secure site icon?

That's true. Not much you can do about it right now, although Facebook has the Facebook Messenger for iPhone. You could use that on your iPad if you want, but it's not optimized for the iPad.
There are several apps not written by Facebook that allow you to chat using the Facebook system. I do not know their quality, but you can check the reviews.

I am wondering what this thing is.
It is an icon located on the far right of the page next to the search toolbar. It is shaped like a circle with a number on the bottom right edge. The number changes depending on which tab I have opened. An empty tab has no number. This page results in a 1. I have another page open which results in a 4. The number shows white in a small orange box. The circle is outlined with a thick black line. What does this icon indicate?

Hi John, I'm guessing that icon is created and updated by an extension. I'm not sure which one, though. Maybe something that is tracking the trackers, like Lightbeam? Have you tried hovering your mouse over the icon to see whether a tooltip appears, or clicking it?

HT3180 When trying to play itunes and slideshows from my Mac book to Apple TV the small icon on the bottom right of the screen which switches between Computer and Apple TV doesn't always show up, and therefore the function doesn't work. What's up?

What is"G" at eh bottom right corner of my applications icon and why do those applications do nothing?

I received my Palm 755p second hand from a friend, just the phone and no accessories. Some of the applications do nothing; they all have a tiny “G” at the bottom right hand corner of the icon. When I click on the application, the screen changes to white for a second and then returns to the original screen. One of the applications that have the “G” is the “contacts” so I am not able to add contacts. Also when I click the “contacts” button on the phone nothing happens.
They are all under the “Good” topic in the drop down menu.

Hello and thank you for using the Palm forums.
It seems like you may have answered your question yourself. The "G" most probably stands for "Good" - catagory that your friend used to change things around in his/her palm.
You can do a hard reset to fix this problem, if you want to restore the phone to factory settings and wipe everything off so it is as good as new (and you cans start using the contacts app on your new phone). Here are the instructions.
A hard reset wipes everything off your device. It is performed by holding down the power/end call button while you remove the battery from your device and then put it back in. Keep your hand on the power/end call button until the battery is back in the phone. The screen will now say "Palm Powered." Take your hand off the power button. You will now see a screen in 5 languages prompting you to erase all data from the palm. The screen will say "erase all data? Yes - up, no - down" and you need to click on the up arrow (silver button on the 5 way navigator on the bottom of the palm). This will erase all the info from your device.
Now your phone should be as good as new, as when it was just purchased, without any previous info on it. This will make sure the applications that came with the phone will stay there and you should now be able to use the contacts application to save your own contacts.

What happened to the lock icon at the bottom right hand corner?

When I would order items on line, I would see this lock icon at the bottom right hand corner of the window. I thought it meant the site was secure. Now I just see the fox head icon. I don't know if it's secure. Is it?
Nothing is wrong with firefox, but I don't know if this feature has been removed or moved elsewhere. It provided some sense of comfort seeing the lock icon on sites where I was ordering items.

In Firefox 4 and later you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions. 
The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server. 
So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL. 
The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the [[Site Identity Button]] on the left end of the location bar.

I have this padlock image with a arrow around it in the top right corner. What does that mean?

My son got a hold of my phone and now I have this padlock image on my phone. It does not appear to slow my phone down but I want to make sure what it is.

That is the orientation lock symbol, you can not go to landscape orientation. Tap the home button twice, swipe the task bar to the right, tap on the 'circle' icon at the left to unlock the orientation. You will then be able to view items in portrait and landscape mode.

Your steps so far are OK but you may want to try:
1 Trash your user library Caches folder (House Icon with short name in Finder window (hard drive window)GOTO:House icon > Library folder > caches folder
2 Trash the com.apple.Safari.plist file in User library > preferences folder > Safari.plist as well as removing the library Safari folder its self.
3 you can selectivly re-install Safari 2.0 from your OS Tiger Install disk 1, (see Knowledge base article 301229 for how to just select the Safari Application) without doing a complete system Archive and Install.
4. Create a new Test user account on the system and test how Safari responds in the Test user, see if its a user related issue and not system issue.
5. Still no Safari response? have to do an Archive and install (not preserving user and network settings)article 107120

Issue may be related to actual internet connection connectivity, power cycle cable modem and router or airport if using one as well as the computer(keep unplugged for 3-5 min) and plug the cable modem in and then the router/airport then power on the computer. Do the Airport Admin utiliy (applications, utilities on HD_1)update.
- do a hard reset of airport knowledge base article 108044(Express base) and 107451 (Extreme base)
- Check with internet provider for connection issues "cannot find server" ect.

Unfortunately you screen shot is not showing. There is a bug in the forum software that sometime will prohibit images from appearing. This may be one of those occasions.
Browsers such as Safari and Firefox do have small windows that will show downloads which will permit you to monitor the progress. Without actually seeing what you are referring to, I cannot give you a definitive answer.

Box and arrow bottom right corner, and the j, I can't find what they mean

I'm new with Aperture and finally sorting my photos. I had a lot of duplicates for some reason. Image 100 and a 100-1 and sometimes a 100-2. I deleted the -1 and -2 copies. Some photos are displayed with a small box and arrow and some also with a J in the bottom right corner. I can't find what that means.

Aperture uses Badges to indicate various things. They are part of the Metadata Overlays.
