Circle on text

Hi Guys:
I have some strange requirement. Experts can tell whether its po'ble or not.
I need <b>circle around the text</b> on Report Header.
Suggestions are welcome and any doubt on thread please lemme know.
Regards
Suresh Babu Karanam

This is possible in sapscript and smartform.
However I do not know if it is possible in list processing.
Is the text dynamic or static?
You can create a graphic for it and use the graphic.
Is the place of the text and length-width of the text dynamic or static. if it is static you can use two windows one containing the text and the other containing the circle at the same coordinates. so you will have a circle around your text.
If it helps please give points.

  • How to create a circle with text that is transparent

I am trying to achieve this affect. I want a black circle with text in it but where ever I place the circle the text needs to be transparent and you see through it.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I am using Illustrator CC 2014
    Thanks

I am using CS5.1 but the technique is the same, hope the info below will be of help.
    1. Create circle
    2. Type word - then select Type from the top menu and select Create Outlines (for ease of selection I colour the type)
    3. Select shape and text with the (black arrow) selection tool.
    4. Top menu - Window - scroll down to Pathfinder
    5. Select Divide - then select shape and text again and select the top menu Object and scroll down to Ungroup.
    6. Then select the red parts of the text and delete or another way is to select a part of the text with colour go to top menu and go to Select scroll down to Same and select Fill Colour this will select all the same colour you will want to delete instead of clicking on each part separately and then delete.
Then save the file as a eps or Ai file etc
    Example below.

  • Acrobat 9 Forms - create circle around text on mouse click?

Hello.  I've searched all through the Help documents, this forum, acrobatusers.com, google, and haven't been able to find what I need.  So if this question has previously been answered, accept my deepest apologies and point me in the direction of said answer.
I am using Acrobat Pro 9 to create an elctronic form from an existing Microsoft Word document.  One of the questions reads thus:
Is the purpose of the training for gaining experience or obtaining academic credit? (Circle One)
Isn't there some element or field I can add to the form so that the person filling out can click on one of the two options in that question and it would draw a circle around the phrase?

It's probably possible to do this using form fields and some scripting, but
I would actually recommend using another method, maybe something more
    intuitive like radio buttons.
Think how confusing it's going to be for user to read "circle one" and then
to have to think "how the hell do I circle something in a PDF"? However, if
you change the instructions to "Select one" and present them with two radio
buttons, then it's very easy to understand what you need to do.
You can create the radio buttons in Word and then have Acrobat automatically
    identify them in the PDF.

  • How to create transparent text on a solid color background?

I want to create a transparent text on a solid color backround, and I need text transparency to go all the way to through the image (i.e. do not show the solid color background). I have the transparent background layer, the solid rectangle layer that occupies part of the image, and the text layer (with text element) on the top of the solid rectangle layer. How do I make text transparency to go all the way through? Here is a similar example for Photoshop CS, only in my case, the backround layer is transparent (i.e. there is no picture): http://www.photoshopessentials.com/photo-effects/transparent-text-area/. Basically, I need to make the letters see through, so they show the backround color on which the image will be placed. Is it possible to do in Photoshop Elements? I'm using version 9 on Windows 7. Thanks.

Thank you all for the suggestions, especially 99jon. 99jon's walktrhough is helpful, but I was hoping to find a workaround that would allow keeping transparent text that goes all the way through all other layers to transparent background as a text level, but once I flatten the image, I'd lose the text layer, so I cannot make any changes to it (like slightly change the font, size, style, face, etc). Let me clarify a bit what I'm trying to do to see if there is an even better option.
Say, I need to have a 300x300 pixel image that (forget about photos) consists of a solid-color circle (circle can be white, black, red, blue, or any solid color, or gradient, does not matter) on a transparent background, and inside of this circle I'd like to cut out a word (say, the word "TEST" with no bevels or other decoration, just flat font) all the way to the transparent background. I just need a circle with text cut out and showing around the circle and through the word "TEST". So if a circle is white and I place the image on a blue background, the word "TEST" would be in blue (so would be the area around the circle).
Is there a way to set it up to allow changing the color of the circle (say, from white to black, or blue, or red) and keep smooth edges of the text (and circle) blending with the background (i.e. avoid jagged edges) without redoing every color variation from scratch? Like, getting some master file which would define size and position of the elements,a s well as font, etc, and from this master file, use simple adjustments to change the color.
Ideally (in my dream world), there would be an option for the text element to be of transparent color that would go through all layers below it. But there must be a not too complex way to do this, right?

  • Color shift appears as square behind circle shapes when printing

When I place a a circle with text within on top of a picture, there is a color shift in the shape of a square behind. anyone experienced this before?

Looks like the issue in the CM thread.
I'm trying to replicate the issue but haven't done it yet. Still grasping at straws
    1. Did the ID doc ever undergo Convert to Profile?
    2. In Swatch Panel do "Add unnamed colors". Make sure the grayscale is colored with swatches, not colors created in the Color Picker
    3. Do the color values in the swatches have crazy decimal values? Is the color mode of the swatches CMYK?
    4. What format are the grayscale links - TIFF or PSD?
    5. Make certain they are links, not embedded (I'm sure they are links though)
    6. The colorization - are there tints applied to the object colors, or are they 100%?

  • Text like a flower?

    Hi team.
I would like to create 'flowers' of text, i.e. a central circle with text beams coming out all the way around.
This is different to the text on a line tool, I want the text coming out like sun beams.
I found a script call sunbeams on this board, but sadly it just crashes illustrator on my mac, I wondered if CS5 has bought anything new to this kind of requirement?

    Garethi,
You may use the Polar Grid Tool (ungrouping and using the radial dividers), or something else to create radial paths, then use the Path Type Tool (you may adjust the Baseline Shift to centre over the path and/or drag the I beam across the path to switch direction, or whatever else may be needed).

  • Cant hang up phone due to Text messages

    So frustrating.
Are you ever on the phone awhile and someone (or some people) decide to text you 3 or 4 times? Then the phone call ends, and you're trying to press the "End Call" button, but you can't, because there's a text message, forcing you to hit "Close or Reply" ?
And then you hit "Close" but another one pops up, because there were 3 others?
So you hit "Close" on that one as well.
    Then another one pops up!
Meanwhile the person you're on the phone with - if they're in an office - with you on speaker - they're waiting for you to disconnect the call - wondering why you haven't hung up yet.
So you hit "Close" on that popup, and ANOTHER ONE pops up, and ... still you can't END the call. 20 seconds after the end of the call, you are able to press "End Call".
Text messages really should not dominate the user interface like that during a phone call. Is there any way around this?

Yep been there, It would be nice to have them just put a red circle on text icon on the home screen . Just like mail.
Is there any need to reply to a text msg when you are still on the dog and bone

  • Make text fit into a shape

How do I make a text fit into a filled shape or inside a border?
I know that I can use the area type tool so that the text forms inside a drawn circle, but if i draw a filled circle, use the area type tool on the circle, the text forms within the circle it but the circle itself disappers.
I made a picture to show what i mean (haha):
    http://i.imgur.com/l2pH5.jpg
For the two examples in this picture, I drew a circles and used the area type tool. After that, I did a new circle on the text and filled it with filling or border, then brought the text in front etc. Of course I can always do that but there should be an easier way?

After creating the area text, select the circle path with direct selection tool and apply fill and/or stroke. Select text with text tool and apply fill

  • Users of Word for Mac:  Help on Two Issues!!

I downloaded some fonts I wanted to use in my Word for Mac document. Download went fine and the fonts are happily nestled in the Fonts folder. However, when I open Word, they do not appear on the Font listing. Any thoughts as to how to get them over so I can use them?
Also, I wanted to use the Fonts to create a logo that--ideally--would be a half circle of text over the design. Simple enough, I thought: just go into Toolbox and pull down the styles (like you can in Windows) and choose the style I want.
No such luck (we are dealing with a Mac here so everything is special) but suddenly a "special styles" toolbox appeared with exactly what I wanted--the ability to format a font to a 180' half circle, mirror image text and some other stuff that seemed interesting!
When I went back to the document to format the text the "special styles" toolbox disappeared, never to be found again. Sigh...
Any ideas? Oh, yes, there is a 180' in "Word Art" but I can't get the downloaded fonts into there, so that isn't really a solution.

Okay, here are the details: Word for Mac 2008 Ver. 12.2.8
Yes, I did post to the MS Forums.
Still no answer from either MS or MAC forums.
Sorry, but this doesn't strike me at that tough a question, hence the *****. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who uses Word for Mac and I'm equally sure I'm not the first one to download a font that didn't load into Word for Mac. The answer is out there somewhere....

  • How to do "Path" in PSE 7

Is it possible to simulate the CS command "Path" in PSE? Right now I use PSE7.
    Thanks for any tips/ideas/hunches!
    Alexander

The path command is not available in PSE. If you have a friend with
Photoshop CS, they can make path's for you and you can use them.
If you are trying to put text in a circle or wave, on the right end of
the Text tool is the options for making wavy text or such. To make a
circle of text, use the Distort->polar coordinate filter.

  • How can I include the mouse in screenshots?

I am constructing a guide and need to include the mouse to indicate where I am pointing at. How would I go about doing this? I tried the hot keys and grab and still no mouse shows.
    Thanks!

I like to use Skitch.com, as it allows me to annotate the screen capture as soon as I get it.
While it does not capture the mouse pointer, it is trivial to add your own Arrow, or circle, or text to the screen capture and then drag the image into your document.

  • PNGs from Premiere to PhotoShop

First, I apologize upfront for not knowing the proper nomenclature. I'm hoping this is a basic question for those that know the answer.
Ok, this is a combo question that involves both Premiere and PhotoShop (cs5). While in Premiere, I'll take a PNG pic of a frame so that I can then rotoscope it. When I open it in PhotoShop, the image is no longer in the 16/9. It is the same height, but the width has been compressed. When I am finished with the file and reimport it to Premiere, it has the wrong look. I can monkey with the image by  unlinking the scale (something like 94% to 140%). That tricks it to be acceptable for my uses, but it would never work for real life images.
My question is... is there a better setting to choose when taking a frame capture to avoid this? I must be making an elementary mistake that I am unaware of.
Thanks for your time... hope my description made sense.

Yes, the pixels can now actually be displayed as non-square, via the advanced functions of OpenGL.  Note the specific item on this page:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405745.html
View nonsquare pixel images. See Adjust pixel aspect ratio in Photoshop CS5 Help
To wit, note this image, in which a perfect circle and text are rendered.  I duplicated it and set the duplicate to 1.33:1 PAR.  Note the pixel dimensions listed in the status boxes at the bottom.

  • Best way to deal with graphics?

Doing a keynote presentation for first time and need to use several .pdfs. I want to extract sections of the pdfs as graphics in my slides. Also would like to highlight or circle some text. I don't edit graphics much. What is the best way to do this?

Dan, I'm sure others may be able to suggest better ways to do what you want, but here are my $.02.
if you don't do much graphic editing, perhaps the most straightforward way grab sections of PDF files is to open the files in Preview, go to the page you want, and then Save that page as a TIFF file. This will give you a high-quality image that you can then import into Keynote and resize and/or mask as you like.
As for circling text, you can use the Shapes menu to create an ellipse, and you can remove its fill and adjust its outline (stroke) through the Graphics Inspector palette in the Inspector. You might be able to do highlighting with a translucent rectangle (make a rectangle, fill it with the highlight colour, then reduce the opacity), although this colour-tinges the text as well as the background, and is not ideal.
Another technique for highlighting text is to darken out all of the text except for the part you want to highlight. This is pretty simple to do:
First, paste the page you want onto your slide. Copy this image.
Next, completely cover the slide with a black box, and reduce the opacity of the box down so that the page shows through slightly. This is what most of the page will look like when the text is highlighted. Set the animation of this black layer to Dissolve.
Then, paste your copied image again into the slide, this time on top of the translucent layer.
Finally, using the mask tool, mask out all of the page except the text you want to highlight. Set the animation of this image also to Dissolve, and in the Set Automatic Builds drawer, select this object, and have it Start Build automatically with Build 1, the translucent layer.
What this simple technique will do is first show the full page of the graphic, then, on a single click, will fade out all but the highlighted text.
(If other folks have different techniques for highlighting text or making parts of slides more salient, please share!)

  • Spin behaviour

I have applied a spin behavior to a piece of text (which is on top of a circle) by doing so it has offset the position of the text group by a frame. The re is another piece of text on a separate layer that moves in with the circle and text b ut the timing is off now because of the Spin behavior,m is this common?

I have the same exact problem using the same tutorial. I set my anchor point to the center of each letter but it still spins around the anchor point for the whole word.

  • Creating Overlay  In Flash

    Hi All,
I need to create an application with following features.
    a) Display an image on the web page.
    b) Provide an overlay on the top of image to allow user
writing text , drawing circles. This layer will be interactive
.User will be able draw and remove circles and text at run time.
Can any body please tell me how this can be achieved . Can i
use flash layers for doing such functionality.
Any pointers or sample code will help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ritu

A mask reveals what is beneath it, so in your case, the photograph would sit atop the drawing image and the mask will be atop the photograph (eventually, at first it is off to the side on a layer above it).  As you slide the mask over the photograph, it is revealed.  You then have the line as a movieclip on a layer above the mask and move that as you move the mask to give the effect that the line is doing the revealing.
So the layering of things would be, top to bottom...
          <---   line
          <---   mask
    photo
    your white box
    drawing
Where the arrows represent the mask and line sliding over the photo
