Circuit diagram for FPS 2000 speakers

Does anyone know where I could find a circuit diagram for the Cambridge Soundworks FPS 2000 speakers?I'm trying to find a way to keep the analog input working when I connect a digital source.

I have this adaptor for sale, original and unused.

  • Circuit diagram for Mega Stick 511

Currently I supply power from an external alkaline AA cell. I made an adaptor for it, and it works OK.
And now I want to build a two rechargable cells adaptor, (1.2V x 2 = 2.4V) for a long play time.
But I need the diagram to understand how the inside switching power works, because at the start point it consumes a lot of current (>100mA !) and after only a fraction (~30mA). If I connect anything in series to regulate to 1.5V, it don't turn on.
    Thanks,
    Victor

The batteries simply need to connected in a parallel circuit, - to -, + to +, you can use any size and any number of 1.5V cells your heart desires in that configuration. This way the voltage remains at 1.5 and it increases the amp/hour of the batteries.
Edit: If you try using series batt. circuit, - to + you would need to build a solid state voltage regulator to drop it to 1.5V. Simply trying to do it with resistors won't work as initial no load voltage is the same as however many batts. are in the series (3V, 4.5V, 6V etc) Easy enough to do if parts are available and you are skilled enough to do so but not needed if you do as described above.

  • How can I obtain a 'circuit (schematic) diagram' for the: Creative gigaworks T20

How can I obtain a 'circuit's (schematic) diagram' for the: Creative gigaworks T20
    Thanks

They have Cs6, however I need to have my own copy, and the highest I can go with my system is CS5, maybe even 5.5. I've a small budget, and most copies are being sold for massive amounts because they're like collector items. I've seen the ones actually affordable within my range from sellers that arent trustworthy, or they're updates which I can't use. I had Cs2, but with updates to operating systems they stopped working. Thank you for your kind assistance.

  • Fourpoint Surround FPS 2000 Digital - Replacement AC Adapter?

Yeah, anyone reading this is thinking, "That system is ancient! Didn't that come out around EAX 1.0?" Indeed, friends, indeed. And a faithful and wonderful system it has been. I would love for it to continue its service in my home, too, if I can locate a replacement AC adapter. Go figure. Speakers still work, but without power what good are they? Again, I'm looking for the AC adapter for the Cambridge Soundworks Fourpoint Surround FPS 2000 Digital speaker package. It features 5VDC 3A output. I'm a bit hesitant to PAY to ask Creative if they can help me through customer support. =/ Especially for such an old system that gets no recognition on their site at all. =) Thanks all! -Rober

Cambridge Soundworks FPS2000 Digital System Model#: C5W500AC Adapter Model#: TEAD-66-53000U Hope that helps.
I just found a generic transformer at Radio Shack (gag me!) and they want $90US (again, please) which is a bit more than I ever plan to pay for a Radio Shack part. At $90, I'd just save up and buy one of the newer model systems. =/

  • Creative FPS 2000 laptop hookup help

I have the Creative FPS 2000 and a Dell Inspiron 6000. I have been plugging either the front or rear speakers into my laptop.. so I cannot get the full experience from the speakrs. I can only hear the front or rear speakers. What can I buy for my laptop to help me take advantage of the digital surround sound of the FPS 2000? Some type of PCMCIA card maybe? Any help is appreciated
    Thank you

I have this speaker system as well, and mine works perfectly. I'm still in awe when I turn on some CD quality music and hear this speaker system play. I can't imagine how awesome the newer systems must be. My soundcard has a yellow digital speaker input for the red DIN connector. However, there is a cable adapter that converts the red DIN connector to a single yellow audio plug (like the small speaker plugs). I don't know if this would work on your notebook because my soundcard has a special input just for that plug. I believe this is the Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format (S/PDif) plug and there is a corresponding cable from my soundcard to my DVD player.

  • FPS 2000 & Audigy 2

I recently upgraded my card from Live X-Gamer to an Audigy 2 card.
I am using FPS 2000 Cambridge Soundworks speakers as well. Now this speaker system is digital input only and it seems as though my rear channel speakers no longer function.
Is the cabling that is needed to fix this problem available from Creative?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for answering Jason. I did see those directions and did try that. Still no luck.
I guess the reason I asked about the cable was that I saw this in the support section:
"Creative Speakers with a Digital DIN INput Connector
The Four Point Surround FPS2000 Digital Multimedia Speaker System, a 4-channel speaker system, has only the Digital Din connector. It does not have any decoding capabilities.
A Multi-pole mini plug to DIN converter cable is required to connect from the Digital Out on the audio card to the Digital IN on the speaker system."

And those are my exact speakers.
I guess jason thought that you were using the analog line in. This should be the cable you need.

  • X-Fi digital out problem with FPS 2000 speak

I just upgraded my old SB Li've! to X-Fi ExtremeMusic.
I connected my 4. digital FPS 2000 Cambridge Soundwork speakers to the digital i/o port at the back of the sound card, but I could only hear from front speakers. Nothing from the rear speakers.
Also when I run the speaker connection wizard, after I pick digital output, the program only allows me to select either headphone or 2. speakers even though I connected to my FPS2000 which is 4. speakers.
Is it because my orginal mini-plug to DIN converter cable from FPS2000 is a 3-pole only and X-Fi digital out port is 4-pole? If that's the case, is it possible to buy a 4-pole mini-plug to DIN converter cable which works for FPS2000?
    Will this cable http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=3&subcategory=58&product=0375 &nav=systemRequirements
    work?

Actually you are having exactly the same problem as other users with DTT3500 or 5700 speakers. The X-Fi does not support the DIN connection. The digital-out of the X-Fi is the industry standard SPDIF. This means only 2-channels can be sent!
You should connect your FPS speakers to the analog outs of the soundcard. Quality will be anyway better, as the X-Fi includes modern DACs at 24-bits, which is not the case of the FPS2000 speakers.

  • Obsolete Power supply circuit diagram

    Hello everyone
I have 2 G4 gigabit ethernet (1 DP 450 and 1 SP 400 that I use as spare parts for the first one) and both power supplies have failed. Since these are obsolete, it gets harder to find parts for them, so I'm trying to repair the power supplies myself. I found some resistors that heated a lot, and a broken capacitor. I manage to replace them although I'm not sure of the resistor values and brought one psu back to life, but the other refuses to do anything. It would be easier to troubleshoot if I had the circuit diagram of the psu. Does anyone know where I might get it? The manufacturer (AcBel) sent me to Apple, but they don't seem to have support for this kind of request... The model number is : API-9841-291. Both have rev. B hardware.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi BDAqua,
Thanks for the help, I think it will be hard to find the circuit diagram... The problem is that buying a used psu means it could fail at any time and refurb one are not cheap...
Seeing the ATX conversion got me thinking. Although the diode trick is a good idea, the forward voltage drop of the diodes means the mb gets 4V in sleep and 11V when On, explaining the problems with deep sleep and firewire. Then I found this for 35$ on Digikey :
    http://us.tdk-lambda.com/lp/ftp/Specs/zpsa40-60.pdf
I will use this psu to provide always on 28Vdc and an ATX psu salvaged from a defective PC at work to provide the other voltages. The best part is that the holes on that board will likely align with the holes on the empty HD rack on the left! A couple of screw and extenders should do the trick.
However, this 28V psu can only output 2.14A, so powering an ADC monitor is excluded, but should be enough to use the firewire ports.
I'll keep you posted on how it turns out.

  • ER diagram for Oracle 8i database

    Hi all,
I'm working as DBA in a banking environment and have got a request to provide the ER diagram of a database(Oracle 8i).
The DBAs who have created this database in Year 2000 are not here currently and there is no documentation on the db design. There are around 3000 tables in this database and i'm not sure whether foreign key constraints are there on the tables.
Can someone pls advise whether there is any tool or there is some other way to generate ER diagram for this database?
    Thanks and awaiting your suggestions...

PoonamJust beware that automated tools can only pick up on the defined FK relationships. Unfortunately, a lot of apps don't rely on FK, believing they can enforce everything in the app code -- which of course the db will have no knowledge of but from a business standpoint is still a relationship.

    Hello,
Multisim is not the right software for PCB layout design. That would be Ultiboard. With the integration between the 2 you can create your circuit in Multisim and transfer it to Ultiboard to easily design your one layer board. There are a lot of tutorials online that can help you do this. If you feel you need instruction, you can always book a class (online or on-site) to learn Multisim/Ultiboard.

  • [ Control Volume Broken on FPS 2000 ]

Hi. I bought the Cambridhe Four Point Surround 2000 Digital on year 2000. The Cable of Volume Control is broken, doesn't work good, and is too complex for be fixed by me.Where can i get a new Control Volume ? i am in Europe? Thanks.

I have come to a similar conclusion. I took the volume controller apart. Nothing in there except a potentiometer/switch and a led. I found no obvious problems like a short. Since the volume changing happens at different volume settings, I don't see how it could be the potentiometer. I took the amp apart and again found no obvious problems. I can't say for sure if heat causes the problem but it does seem like the problem does occur more frequently when the ambient temperature is higher and the system has been in use for awhile. I called Creative and they do not offer a replacement amp or subwoofer. If the problem gets too difficult to live with I will probably replace the FPS 2000's with Logitech X-530's.

  • HP Compaq Presario 2500 circuit diagram or some constructive help

    Hello,
i have a Compaq Presario 2500 that has no power. The laptop is totally dead. Everything happened after disassembling
and thermal paste changing. Previously the laptop had some heating issues, since this laptop is pretty old and was never
opened and cleaned. I decided to disassemble it and perform a cleaning and thermal paste changement. The CPU was pulled out and sticking on the heatsink since the old compound was totally dried out and it literally glued it onto the heatsink. After reasembling laptop totally dead. After 10 minutes the battery charge led starts to lightning, but laptop will not turn on. I measured several points on the motherboard, and i was able to measure some voltage presence. Has somebody a circuit diagram ?
It is a rare motherboard that has no fuse near the DC Jack. I noticed only 2 fuses on the entire board.
F1 has a sign p10 and is near the switch board port located, the other one is placed more near the DC Jack and is white colored and has a sign 2, which is standing for 2A ? Or am i wrong ?
I don`t know further, has someone a suggestion or a circuit diagram ?
The laptop has no real value, and i will not invest into a new motherboard, so i hope i will get some advices from you guys in order to get this laptop to work. Btw i tried another CPU too, but the laptop has the same condition with no changements.
Here is the motherboard model :    DAKT9DMB6F1 KT9D
    Thanks in advance

  • CAN'T FIND DRIVER FOR AT-FBUS NI-FBUS FOR WINDOWS 2000

Trying to load software for AT-FBUS for Windows 2000. The only drivers that I can find are PCMCIA-FBUS and PCMCIA-FBUS/2. Are these the drivers for my at machine??

AT-FBUS can work under Windows 2000 in NI-FBUS 2.3.5 or later version. You don't need to install the driver, the AT-FBUS driver "nifb.sys" will be installed to your system driver directory automatically.
AT-FBUS doens't support PnP feature of Windows 2000, so you need to start the driver from "non-Plug & Play" list instead of importing the "INF" file as PCMCIA-FBUS does.
You can refer to the attached "FF HW and NI-FBUS SW for Win2000/XP" Installation Guide document for details.
