Circuit RL

Bonjour,

non ?

The circuit of my macbook is dead yet the hard drive is fine.  I need to access a file from the hard drive, how can i do this? The mac turns on the screen freezes as bright blue.  Is there a cable i can connect to another mac that will let me transfer the file?

There is another option if the Macbook will start up in Target Disk Mode.
Restart the computer while holding down the T key. If you see the firewire symbol moving around on the screen you can connect this one to another one in TDM. You will need a suitable cable to connect the two Macs.

  • IMac to tv with hdmi short circuit

I have my iMac (Intel) connected to my Sony tv with an hdmi adapter.  It works fine except that sometimes the iMac seems to short circuit and turn off.  I read once that my cable may not be appropriate but then I lost that info.  Can anyone help?

For the "Arangements" option to appear, the external display must be turned on with the correct input selected and connected to the computer.  Then close system prefs, reopen, go to "Display" and "Arrangement" will be along the top.

  • I am trying to use the RS232 to control a circuit board. It would have to simultaneously output SerialClock, DataIn, and Chip Select signals, while also receiving DataOut signals; therefore 4 signals total. Does anyone know if it this is possible?

I am trying to splice 4 wires out of the RS232 serial cable (the 9-pin type) and wire them to a circuit board. The 4 wires would control 4 signals: DataIn, DataOut, SerialClock, and ChipSelect. The serial clock would synchronize the DataIn and the ChipSelect is asynchronous. DataOut must coincide with SerialClock also; therefore there are 3 signals that must be able to switch concurrently. All the handshaking enabled by RS232 is thus unnecessary in my opinion. Does anyone know of how this can be done?

  • Macbook air A1237 short circuiting

I have just bought a macbook air A1237 the 13 inch screen - it was second hand and had a few problems.
First problem was once turned on it was show the restart screen and that would be a constant loop, managed to fix that problem so it starts and works properly
Second Problem - No battery, it wont hold charge - obvious fix replace the battery - need to do,
Third Problem - No sound, the tricky one.
The laptop had already been taken to a computer repair shop before i purchased the item - the shop is obvoiusly not competent enough to work on computers due to the fact they could not repair the restart problem (which took a non-computer techie less then 30 mins). and half of the screws from the device are missing - one on the case and all except one on the battery.
I searched around on the net for a fix for the audio and found a tutorial that said remove the sound ribbon and place it above the battery, so i did this and it worked, turned the machine off and screwed the case back together and no sound... removed the case and i had sound ?? screwed the case back on whilst turned on i had sound for 2-4 hours before it went off... Still only works when the device has no bottom on,
On anther note when i had the device with no bottom on i leaned over the machine and got a shock on my chin, didnt think anything of this due to the case being open, so screwed it all back together and thought f**k it, its a machine with no sound.
After talking to a friend who loves his apple products he mentioned that the device could be short circuiting, so i checked the electric shock on my chin again and i got one from the device and every now when using it i get one on my arm or hand??
So my question is - What could be causing the short and why is the device working properly apart from sound when short circuiting ??
Also i have downloaded OS lion - the machine is currently on OS X 10.6.8 and it will not let m upgrade? it starts the upgrade then just crashes ? any ideas?
    Ps. Sorry for my spelling.

With the keyboard, if working correctly and marked as such, the "3" should also
have the "#" as an option using the Shift key. There are additional hidden keys
that these same buttons can provide, conditionally, with use of the "fn" function
key; this acts like a super-shift key in certain instances. Some keys on a main
external keyboard are condensed on a portable keyboard, & appear with 'fn'.
To tell what the keyboard can provide in various alternatives, you could find
and activate the Keyboard Viewer from within the System Preferences>
International> Input Menu. With 'visible in menu bar' activated, one can
more readily access it and the ability to tell what keys and shift, opt, etc
combinations, or the fn key, can make appear in documents or elsewhere.
The Keyboard Viewer opens into a small window on the desktop, so keys
that are pressed are highlighted on a tiny screen in there. You can also click
on the tiny keys in there to make them work in a document.
Notice the choices in the Input Menu section, as you can set it so Character
Palette and Keyboard Viewer both appear under the Flag icon in main Menu
bar in the Finder or main desktop. Saves having to open Sys Prefs to see it.
Some of the user interface points of reference change over time or between
versions of OS X. So do some names of things, esp with Mt Lion/Mav. In a
way it's good all older Intel-Macs can't run Mavericks 10.9.2. Less trouble.

  • Swapping circuit boards for an internal hard drive

My story may be a bit long and roundabout, so please try and bear with me as I explain.
My PowerMac G5 is 4.5 years old and over the past few months, the DVD and my secondary internal hard drive, both the originals that came with my computer, have been slowly dying. I finally replaced the DVD drive the other day and was little by little copying the data off my secondary internal drive before it completely failed. One thing that seemed to help the internal drive run more smooth was unplugging the power cable and plugging it back in. A worker at an Apple store's Genius Bar also suggested swapping each internal drive to the bay that the other was originally in, to see if that helped at all.
Anyways, in the end, the drive was giving me so much trouble and I had unplugged/plugged the power cable so many times that eventually the part of the circuit board that holds the pin connectors straight broke off, so now I had no way to get my data off the slowly failing drive. Another visit to the Genius Bar and I was told that the drive was as good as done, but not wanting to believe that the majority of my film projects were gone forever, I contacted a store across the street from my old NYU dorm called Digital Society. They told me that the circuit board on the drive needed to be replaced and that the new board had to be taken from an identical drive. I soon realized that the primary/system drive of my G5 was in fact identical. So, after running Time Machine, purchasing new primary and secondary internal drives, re-installing the OS and doing a Time Machine restore - which was flawless - I took my two drives back to Digital Society where they swapped the circuit boards rather quickly.
Now that I'm back home, I was easily able to recover all my data from my failing drive... only after having its circuit board replaced, the drive is showing no signs whatsoever of the read/write difficulties and failures that it had been showing prior to the circuit board swap, which leads me to a few questions
    a) Was it really the drive that had a problem, or the circuit board itself? Is there anywhere I could buy just a circuit board without having to buy a new drive just to get a circuit board? The drives in question are 400 gig Hitachi Deskstar, model #HDS724040KLSA80. While I'm not entirely sure the once failing drive should be trusted again, my old system drive - which now has a busted circuit board on it - still works perfectly fine.
    b) If I'm able to get a new circuit board, how easy is it to replace myself? The guy at Digital Society did it very quickly and for a price of $120. Are there any video tutorials?
    Thanks!

    Lot's of good question Will,
Hard drives are not what they used to be, if your work is important I'd replace them every 3 years & have 2 backups in the meantime.
I doubt you can get the circuit boards separate without buying a while questionable drive.

  • How do I search and find the latest albums of a particular genre (Circuit)?

    Hello,
I'm new to iTunes and the music I want to buy is Circuit Party (House).
All I want to do is log on and search for and find the latest Circuit Party music albums. Unfortunately, sometimes I will do a search and a song and its album will show up, but the album is not appearing in the "New and Noteworthy" section, even though it is a new release.
What I have been doing as a workaround is to visite another site which has the latest Circuit music albums and then switching back to iTunes Store to search for each specific album. This is a slow process and a pain!
I figure I must not be doing something right with the iTunes store, so if you can tell me the best way to find my music, I would really appreciate it!
    Thanks!

    Hi Tom,
As I can see from what you posted, this correction seems a program correction. You can use SNOTE transaction to apply it. Just download the OSS Note and apply it. The transaction it's pretty simple to use.
Otherwise if you don't have SNOTE installed you can find them in the following places:
SELECT_STATE_FOR_CONDTAB_BUILD - This is a function you should find this through the se37.
    Hope it helps.

When I print (both not wireless and wireless) I can print maybe one or more pages and the the print stops half way in a pageprint for 30 sec to  1 or 2 minutes - and then continues the printing
I bought the printer on jan. 11, 2011
Do I miss to install a driver or.... is there a problem with the printer?

You need to put the iPod into disk mode before it will show up on your desktop; if it is in disk mode and won't show up, open the Finder's preferences and check what's set to show up on the desktop.

Have a look at ebay. There are some spare control and power boards. I think that a spare main board for the printer will be expensive so a new or used printer might be the only option..

  • Where Can I Find Components And Footprints Not Included In The Circuit Design Suite Databases?

One of the most common questions asked by users of the Multisim and Ultiboard suite is about finding components. From time to time you may come across the need of a particular component or footprint (lanbdpattern) that is not included in the master databases. So where can you look for these components? There are multiple places to begin your search, both 3rd party and from NI that are free and readily accessible:
One of the long-standing free resources is the Kittmaster's Component Database which is maintained by Kittmaster (Chris) one of our proven active veterans of this board as well as a Beta Tester of the Circuit Design Suite. You will find a vast collection of already built parts in Multisim and Ultiboard formats that have been submitted by users like you that have register on kittmaster's database and that actively upload custom component creations. I encourage you to register and share.
NI has recently created the Circuit Design Community in response to requests from users around the world. The Circuit Design Community aims to provide an open resource for designers that need or would like to share Multisim components, Ultiboard footprints, sample design files and other documents that are of use for the design community. The basic difference between the Circuit Design Community and this Circuit Design Discussion Forum is that the Community is tailored for document and file sharing, whereas the Forum is designed with problem solving, tip sharing and general support questions in mind. Again, I encourage you not only to search, but also to share any components you may have created that are useful for other designers.
Most manufacturers that offer SPICE or PSPICE models in their websites would typically allow you to download them free of charge, in most cases accepting a license agreement. The first step is to identify who the manufacture of the part you are looking for is, as well as cross-reference manufacturers. Then search in their corresponding websites for the product folder or design resources section. If you find SPICE or PSPICE models you can easily import those when creating a new component, remember that Multisim is highly compatible with PSPICE models, and every new release adds more compatibility. If you cannot find the model, it does not hurts to call or email the manufacture and ask directly if they have such models, in many cases they are not advertised in the web.
Last, but not least, use your favourite internet search engine and see if anyone out there has posted or worked on a similar model.
Thank you for using the support resources and I hope that these options fulfill most of the component searches that you may need to do.

  • Why can't I use the test circuit full time????

Just over two weeks with BT and I have to say without question the worst company I have ever dealt with. Utter utter useless at customer service and do nothing they promise, so I turn to the forum.
After a week on the phone to India finally get the phone and broadband working and then today I can't make out going calls. Incoming calls and Broadband still working.....for now.....
Anyway not feeling like spending another hour on hold have gone through the (so called) help online.
Can anyone explain how and why the test circuit on the junction box works fine but the 'main socket doesn't???
Further more why can't you just plug the phone into and keep it in the test circuit???
Also what would cause the line to suddenly stop working? nothing inside the house has changed???

    Hi
The incoming line from the telephone exchange connects in the back of the main socket attached to he wall, when you plug the front plate in to the test socket it extends the line through to the socket on the front plate as well to some wiring connection ponts on that front plate.
If you have other sockets around the house they would either be plugged into the front plate or would be hardwired onto the rear of the front plate.
By unplugging the front plate all sockets in the house now become in active, can you confirm if there are wires connected at the rear of the front plate

  • Broken coax cable from circuit board to Airport Extreme

I picked up this 1.25Ghz-DP/1024MB/FW800 off the internet knowing that it did not come with either the Airport Extreme or the Bluetooth (1.1) module. No big deal, since I have an AE and would be looking for the BT Module. To my surprise, its "AE/Bluetooth-ready" status was compromised by the removal of the AE card using a pair of side cutters (or some other crude cutting tool), leaving a frizzy antenna cable running back down into the space between the chassis and the case. It would appear that the BT antenna is intact, for what it is worth.
I know there would be some challenges, but I am wondering if the part is available that includes the circuit board, the antenna, and the antenna coax leading from the circuit board back to the connector on the AE. Or maybe the part numbers?
I plan to use this for an older version Digidesign's Pro Tools, so I am going to remove the two four-port cards (one FW, one USB) and replace them with the PT Mix Core and Farm(s). I would prefer not to go with the USB dongle, since I know there can be flakiness with USB and PT. My alternative to taking the plunge with a soldering iron and some parts would be to get an AEBS nearby and connecting with ethernet.
The computer sees the card in System profiler, but without the antenna fully deployed, it fires blanks. Are the resources for the connector and cable that could be put together to paste it back in place or better yet, a place to get the complete unit to change it out. I guess I would be looking for the BT module, too as long as I am at it, but that is not a critical issue.
    Thanks---Dave Iverson

    Hi Dave,
Here is a third-party external extension antenna that might replace the existing stub:
    http://www.macwireless.com/html/products/antennas_boosters/whips.php
Installation in a G4 mini-tower is easy; you only need to remove a PCI slot cover on the back to run the cable outside the box. I have no personal experience with this; just something I found in searching after I read your post.
    Danny,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Looks like the above product should work for an iMac. Check the list of instructions on the page I linked to see if they list your computer. I suspect you have to take something apart to run the cable. Also check the iMac G5 forums to see if someone there has already figured it out for that model. The iMac G5 hardware is nothing like the G4 mini-towers that are the subject of this forum area, so your chances of getting the right answer for your specific computer are better in the other forum I linked.
If you are having trouble figuring out how to start your own thread (so many people do that I must ask), see this Apple info:

  • 24" imac goes into sleep mode and lights on circuit flicker

    Hi -
I have a 24" imac and have found that when the display goes into sleep mode the lights on the circuit flicker.
I have searched the web and other users have complained of the same issue with no resolution.
Here is a similiar post - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2606099?start=0&tstart=0.      The resolution is probably you need to get the iMac serviced,  what i'm wondering is what is the problem in the imac that is causing the issue.    Is this a defect?
Before anyone questions the circuitry in my house here is what I have verified.
An electrician has come and verified the electric panel is good and all circuit breakers are good.   All circuits in my house are copper, no aluminum.
I can plug the iMac into any circuit and the problem starts right when the Imac's display goes to sleep.     I have owned the iMac for approximately 5 months now (bought it used) and the problem started about a month ago.
Assuming this has to be serviced I dread to wonder the price .
      Thanks for anyones help.

The sleep timeout has nothing to do with disk activity. It's based on user input, although some background processes can pre-empt it. If you don't want the machine to sleep automatically, disable automatic sleep in the Energy Saver preference pane.

How can I change the name of a sub-circuit in MultiSim?
    For example:
I have a sub-circuit named "Output Channel 1" and its RefDes is SC1.  How do I change its name to 'Input Channel 1'?

    Hi,
If what you want to change is the RefDes you can do it by right-clicking the sub-circuit and selecting properties. If what you want to change is the name, you can right-click the sub-circuit in the Design Toolbox.

  • Need help in multisim 11? I want to get the transient response of RL circuit....

    Need help in multisim 11?
I want to get the transient response of RL circuit....i can get the increasing exponential graph in multisim 7 during simulation.....but i am getting a decreasing exponential curve(i.e,decay response) in multisim 11 when i do the same procedure as i did in multisim 7.....how can i get the initial or growth transient response for RL circuit in multisim 11 so that i can get increasing exponential curve....which satisfies time constant = L/R

    Hello,
The process is the same for any circuit (in this case it is an RC circuit which you sent me). You can find the response on the voltage (which I think it's what you're looking for) at any point of the circuit, as well as any parameter really (R,V,I,L..etc).
Please refer to the image attached (an analysis on the voltage at an inductor and the wires connected to it).
The way to set it up (once you're in the transient analysis set up) is, select the Output tab, under Variables in circuit, you can select which parameters to take. V(1) and V(2) refer to the voltage in the circuit at Net 1/2 (or wire 1/2).
This differs from the voltage change within the capacitor/inductor/resistor. If you would like to see the voltage change of an inductor/capacitor/resistor/etc, you can select under the More options box, the button Add device/model parameter, which will take you to a window to select the device type, its name (in the circuit) and the parameter which you wish to analyse. Once you click on Simulate, you can select Cursor >> Show Cursors, to view information for y and x axis (like rise time, decay time, voltage difference...etc)
    Hope this helps,

  • How to: export 4:2:0 MPEG2 for Visual Circuits Firefly MC

I am trying to make a series of videos for a multi-channel media player called FireFly MC by Visual Circuits. It plays on 3 monitors and I am trying to make a multi screen presentation to give the illusion that it spans all 3 at times and the goes back to individual montors and back or whatever.
Every time i export and MPEG2 from Premiere Pro and play it on the system, there are tons of artifacts. and color changes to B & W and back to color.
There is a manual online, but the encoding requirements are not really something i am altogether familiar with.
    Here are some:
    1. Files must be program stream MPEG2 or system stream
MPEG1 of audio/video, or elementary stream MPEG2 or
MPEG1 of video only or audio only.
    2. Use 4:2:0, not 4:2:2 encoding.
    3. In MPEG-2, both audio and video fields should be encoded.
    This is the normal default.
    4. Audio only (Dolby Digital or MPEG Layer 2) files cannot be
mixed with files containing videos (MPEG, MPEG2 program
    stream, video only).
    5. Firefly – Standard IDE Hard Drive): The total bit rate of a
Firefly player must not exceed 40 mbps across four channels
(i.e. averaging 10 mbps per channel). Channels may be
encoded at different bit rates (up to 15 mbps on a given
channel) as long as 40 mbps is not exceeded across a single
    hard drive (4-channel player).
    6. The presentation time stamp (PTS) values contained in the
audio and video streams in a file must be continuous and
increasing. In particular, the PTS values should not reset to 0 at
any point in the file. The time between the first and last time
stamps in a file should reflect the actual duration of the file.
    7. Files should be no less than 4 megabytes in size. If some of
your files are smaller than 4 megabytes, use an editor to
combine the files to create a single file at least 4 megabytes in
    size.
    8. Files should be no larger than 2 gigabytes in size.
Anyone ever work with this system or know how to export this type of file?
    Thx in advance.

Hi Jim, I too am confused!
Why should the video codec for Option 1 be V210? Isn't this reserved for 10-bit video?
    http://www.fourcc.org/yuv.php#V210
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WS398C372B-B748-4ef6-BA0D-396D2E360707.ht ml
I would have thought that the UYVY option was the correct choice for 8-bit video.
    http://www.fourcc.org/yuv.php#UYVY
Videos exported using Option 2 definately do not play correctly in Windows Media Player - I get no video, just audio. I have tried many different computers running different versions of Windows and Windows Media Player. I'm running Premiere CS5 v5.03 if that makes any difference.
I don't understand why videos from Option 1 play fine in Windows Media Player even though the systems don't have AJA hardware installed (or any video I/O device) - they are just plain vanilla office PCs
