Cirrus limitations we must know

Hello people,
we are using the Cirrus  service as a rendezvous point, not with RTMFP groups, to establish peer  to peer connections based on RTMFP, i.e. one to one conversations. We have built a  service around this and we wish to know about some details that might  affect the workings of our service. Would you please answer the  questions below if possible?
Are there any limitations we should be aware of?  E.g. is there a limit on the number of connections we can establish to  Cirrus? I saw somewhere on this forum someone mentioning a 50 connections limit but we disproved that by actually opening 54 simultaneous connections. Are there any other limitations?
Can we publish a service that uses Cirrus as a rendezvous point or is it against Adobe policy?
Will  the Cirrus server go offline when RTMFP is included in the next Adobe  media server version? If so, will we know soon enough so that we can  make the transition smoothly without having our service stopped and how  will this be communicated on time? Will it be emailed to all Adobe  developers? Is RTMFP already included in media server and we unfortunately happen not to know about it?
Thank you for your time and looking forward to hearing from you all.

Cirrus (codename) has no limits to the number of concurrent users you can have connected with your developer key, although we ask that you let us know if you'll have more than about 10,000 concurrent users.  and we reserve the right to throttle or block any developer who causes a disruptive or egregious load to the system, but we've only ever had to do that on one occasion.
Flash Media Server 4 includes support for RTMFP.  the developer edition of FMS 4 has a limit of 50 connections, which is probably what you were seeing.
please consult the Cirrus (codename) Terms of Use that you agreed to when you signed up for your developer key for the limitations of using the service.

  • Must-know BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry 10 tips and tricks

Check out the following must-know BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry 10 tips and tricks to get the most out of your new BlackBerry 10 smartphone.
    1) BlackBerry 10's Built-In Screen Shot Feature
Capturing a screen shot on a BlackBerry 10 device is simple. Just hold both the volume up and volume down keys simultaneously for a couple of seconds until you hear a shutter sound. Screen shots are saved to your BlackBerry 10 camera gallery.
    2) Volume Up/Down Keys as Media Controls
You can use your BlackBerry 10 device's volume up and volume down keys to skip through songs in your music librery. To enable this feature, open your BlackBerry 10 Settings by dragging down from the top of your display while on your Active Frames screen or a home screen panel. Choose Settings from the dropdown menu and click System Volume. On the following page, slide the Music Shortcuts button to the On position.
    3) Volume Up/Down Keys and the BlackBerry 10 Camera
You simply tap your BlackBerry Z10's display with the camera or video camera open to snap an image or start recording a video clip. But it's sometimes easier to use the volume keys. Just tap the volume up or volume down keys with the camera open to snap and image. And you can also use these keys to start and stop video capture when your camera's video mode is enabled.
    4) Instantly Launch Voice Control
The BlackBerry Z10 can initiate lots of different actions based on voice commands thanks to its Voice Control app. And you can instantly launch Voice Control by holding your device's mute key for a couple of seconds.
    5) Launch BlackBerry Camera from Lock Screen
BlackBerry 10 lets you quickly launch your camera application from its lock screen, a feature that can be valuable when you want to take spur-of-the-moment shots. A camera icon appears in the bottom-right corner of the locked display screen, and you can hold it for a couple of seconds to launch the camera app.
    6) Advanced BlackBerry Hub Inbox Controls
The BlackBerry Hub is the central inbox for all of you various BlackBerry 10 application notifications and messages. You can access basic Hub controls by clicking the Menu key at the bottom right of your Hub screen. (The Menu key looks like three dots stacked on top of each other.) But you can also access some advanced BlackBerry Hub controls from the date bars that appear in the inbox stream at the start of each new day.
Just hold a finger on a date bar to bring up controls that let you skip to the start of the past day, the start of the next day, jump to the top of the BlackBerry Hub, jump to the bottom of your BlackBerry Hub or mark all prior messages as read.
    7) Speedy BlackBerry 10 Navigation
The BlackBerry 10 OS can be broken down into three main components: The BlackBerry Hub; the Active Frames screen; and your application panels. You can do navigation through these components using a basic set of swipes and gestures. But you can also use the tiny slider tray that appears at the bottom of the Active Frames screen and all of your home panels. Just tap a specific panel in the slide to navigate directly to that panel without scrolling. Touch the Active Frames square, which is composed of four smaller squares, to jump directly to your active apps page. Or tap the Hub button, which looks like three horizontal lines on top of each other, to navigate right to the Hub.
    8) See Your Battery Life Status as a Percentage
The BlackBerry 10 OS does not currently allow you to set your battery-status indicator to show a specific percentage, only a battery icon. But you can check your device's hardware settings for a more specific battery status. Just open your device's Settings by sliding down from the top of your Active Frames or application-panel screen and choose Settings from the dropdown menu. Then click About. On the following screen, change the Category menu from General to Hardware. You'll see a battery percentage listed in the Hardware information.
    9) BlackBerry 10 Boot Status as a Percentage
Whenever you restart or power up your BlackBerry 10 devices, a BlackBerry logo appears with a status bar that encircles it. The status bar shows you start-up progress, but you can also view that progress as a percentage number. Just hold your finger anywhere on the BlackBerry logo and a progress percentage appears.
    10) BlackBerry Z10 Keyboard Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts
You can type special characters using the BlackBerry 10 virtual keyboard by holding your finger on top of a letter with associated special characters (e, a, i, o, u, y, etc.), and then sliding your finger over to the character of your choice.
Quickly sliding your finger downward from the top of your keyboard to its bottom cycles through the number and character screens so you don't have to tap the number/character screens button, which can slow down typing.
And you can delete an entire word instead of just individual letters by swiping leftward from the backspace key toward the center of your keyboard.

    Hello
What are the most important CO settings/procedures every consultant must know?
I am new to CO and just to be sure that course content includes all main points.
    Thanks

There are no 'main' points; it all depends on the business requirements.
The more you know, better it would be.

  • Things a LabVIEW Programmer must know

    Hello guys..
I am working on labVIEW for last 1 year on my own.
If I get any difficulties I post my questions on the NI Forum.
But I only know a small drop of the sea water..
So what should a labview programmer must know??
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

In short, how to avoid 10 screen wide spaghetti code full of sequence structures, local variables and race conditions
Also I advice you to have a look on the NI Certificates and the "learning curve":
    http://www.ni.com/white-paper/13120/en/
    http://www.ni.com/training/certification/
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/Certification/bd-p/Certification
edit: maybe I would just add a few points which I usually keep in mind during planning phase of a new project:
choose the right framework or template based on the requirements
Keep in mind how to get and set values - indicators and controls. If it is possible, use the wire to pass data. Keep in mind what is OK to do with local variables (for example update a control), and what should be (usually) avoided (read/write indicators for example). If you cannot use the wire to directly pass info (parallel loops), learn proper use of Notifiers, Queues, UserEvents, etc...
who will use the code (this is very important, you need totally different approach if you develop for only yourself, or for others who are not programmers and maybe even do not know the hardware part of the system...)
GUI most be always responsible. Avoid bad habits (longer time running things in GUI Event loop).
Avoid overcrowded Front Panel: use pop up windows for settings, etc. Which the user do not need to see always.
Error handling! It is very important to make a robust proper error handling strategy: for example if one of your HW component creates an error, your application cannot just stop simply. Handle the error, properly close all HW and File references (remember if you do not close a File properly, you can lose LOTS of data: file writing is buffered from RAM). Also log the error info in a log file.
If you need to make an EXE or installer: use a configuration file to store user changes: if the user changed the colours (width, etc.) of a Graph/Chart, store this info in a config file which you load at the next application start.
Autodetect hardware (or give the user the option to change port/channel settings): what happens if your application moves to another PC (COM port numbering changes, etc...)? Your application need to adapt to HW changes.

  • What kind GP's stuffs that i must know for prepare for NXP JCOP Training?

    Hi Friends..
I have a plan to take NXP JCOP Training..
But, in the NXP JCOP Training's requirements states that the person must understand about Global Platform..
I want to know what kind of GP's stuffs that i must know for prepare for NXP JCOP Training?
    Perhaps from Global Platform basics..
Actually, i have download the Global Platform 2.2.1 specification..
but, honestly i must say that i don't too understand about it, because i thought that it contains a lot of term that i don't too understood.. :(
Please anybody could help me how the way for understanding the Global Platform 2.2.1 specification..
sorry, perhaps this question is a little bit silly..
Actually, i have 10 days left for prepare for NXP JCOP Training in Singapore
    Thanks in advance..
    Edited by: Leonardo_Carreira on Apr 21, 2010 7:30 PM

I participated in a JCOP training 2 years ago. It was then a two day training, where the first day was an introduction into GlobalPlatform and Java Card. If one took only the second day, the pre-requisite was to know about GlobalPlatform. So if you take the full training, I think NXP should introduce you to GlobalPlatform to make you understand the concepts and what it can be used for.

  • Before I finish setting up account, I must know if this is even going to work. Will I be able to download music from ps3 to my ipod shuffle 4th generation?

Before I finish setting up account, I must know if this is even going to work. Will my PS3 be able to download music to my ipod shuffle 4th generation?

PS3?  As in Sony Playstation 3?   What exactly are you attempting to do?
An iPod shuffle can only get music from a computer running iTunes that has the music imported into the iTunes library.

  • I am going to place a 30 minutes dvd film on a website for one of my clients. Before converting tje old vhs-film to dvd I must know what format will suit the needs best. HTTP, Flash, Quicktime or something else?

I am going to place a 30 minutes dvd film on a website for one of my clients. The film was shot 15 years ago and is in vhs-format. Before I will have the film converted into a dvd-format I want to know what format will suit my needs best. HTTP, Flash, Quicktime or something else? I will make it easy for myself placering the dvd film on the site and for the vistors who wish to look att the film.

The DVD format (MPEG-2) isn't appropriate for Web use.
Use QuickTime and H.264 video codec with AAC audio. Size the file at 320X240 (best fit for your old file).

  • Calendar function question - somebody must know out there...

Any organization has meetings scheduled once a month, recurring on the third Wednesday ... or once a quarter on the first Friday. I can't see how to do this in Calendar. It's gotta be there, right? Please tell me I'm blind and solve my dilemma. Thank you very much.

It doesn't appear that they have this option yet. It is available in iCal so maybe it will come in an iPhone software upgrade down the road.
In iCal, at the bottom of the same list that comes up in iPhone for repeat events, there is a Custom option. From there you can select "every 2nd Tuesday" etc.
I know this isn't the answer you wanted.
Can you input these repeat items in whatever calender software you use on your computer and then sync it to your iPhone? At least until Apple adds this function to the Calender app on iPhone?
    Good luck!

  • Whenever I try to update flash player it demands I close a dashboard client, but it doesn't say which one.  I have 10 of them running.  the installer must know which one, why doesn't it offer to close it (or them)?

    see the title.

the installer doesn’t flag the clients…that’s the problem.  if I knew what it was complaining about I would kill it.  please don’t tell me the installer is really saying “kill all the dashboard clients”.  if that’s it then why doesn’t it offer to do it?  either a) it knows where the conflict is but won’t tell me;  or b) doesn’t know even if there is a conflict and leaves it up to me to guess.  great.  sure, I could kill them one by one and eventually find out which one, assuming the answer isn’t b), but I really think the installer could do a better job.  up to me there would be no flash clients and thus no issues.

  • 123 people are aware of this problem so somebody must know somethin!

I have the fish fillet clutch of AU effects, you know the ones Block Fish, Spit Fish and Floor fish. The other day on loading my Logic Pro 7 the AU crashed and would not load the Floor fish but the other two load ok I have had this problem before and I took a drastic measure of stripping my mack of 10.4,11 and built everything up again upon which it worked again. (before doing this i tried countless times to repair permissions Zap pram optimize the home drive reload Logic Pro 7 no Joy)
I am wondering how I can remedy this fault within Logic as in wave burner and garage band and Bias Peak5 I see the whole lot no problem. I have Logic Pro 7.1.1

Ok. I recently had this problem too. If you are running Norton, it is most likeley the problem. When I checked the history on Norton it said that even though I let the plugin-container.exe run, it still decided to quarentine it. Obviously, if that file isn't in the firefox files, firefox isn't going to run. Go into Norton and tell it to restore that file(if you are sure it is from firefox not a real virus. haha) and it should work again.

  • Must know more about Elements features per photodeluxe

I am an old timer to Adobe Forums, haven't been to the Adobe forum since Adobe stopped supporting Premiere.  I am still using Photodeluxe via OS classic 9 on a G5 Mac.  I understand that Photoshop Elements replaced Photodeluxe. I've seen/read some of really fancy things that Photoshop Elements can do, but what I don't know is what about the areas that I use all the time in Photodeluxe (see photo)?   Is there anyone who can shed some light on this question for me?
For those who have never used Photodelux, here are a few features; I really use this program a lot, but I know Tiger/G5 is my last stop before I can no longer use this program.   Thanks for any light that can been shed on my quandary.
    Patt

    Patt,
There is a learning curve, of course, but since you have prior experience with DeLuxe, you are equipped to build on that foundation. There are new tools, new palettes with outstanding features, etc.. I suggest that you purchase a manual, for reference beyond the help file,  to go along with the software.
Good luck. If you need help, there are many talented people on this board upon whom you can call for guidance.
