Cisco 1010 AP problem
Is there any way to use Cisco 1010 Light Weigh Access Point as a stand alone Cisco Aironet device, without having a WLC.
We have few 1010 LWAP, but no WLC. These AP's are based on Power over Ethernet feature. We connect these AP's to a POE based switch, they are up. By enabling DHCP on the switch we are able to get an IP address for the same AP,also we can easily ping the IP address. But when we try to open the HTTP based management console for the AP, at that time it didn't work. Do we need to have a WLC for the configuration and management, or is there any other way out for it.
Regards
Hi Mansoor,
You have to keep in mind that the 1010 is a "true" Lightweight AP. This means there is no IOS on the AP for it to be able to operate in a "standalone" or Autonomous manner. So, on Lightweight AP's there is no http based management interface. All config settings must be done via a WLC :(
Hope this helps!

AT&T DSL & Cisco ASA 5505 Problems
Okay I have been working with a 5505 for two days and finally got it configured and working on an AT&T DSL Modem then when I took the 5505 to the clients office and connected/configured it to their AT&T DSL with their IPs the whole thing quite working. I noticed walk through the Tech discussions that there are lots of problems with AT&T DSL deployments and I also discovered that one working configuration was attached to a DSL in AT&Ts standard deployment as a DHCP router using dynamic IPs while the second is in bridge mode using static IPs.
So here's the question why won't the DSL Modem in bridge mode not work as a typical Internet connection like a Cable Modem? I have a Cisco Wireless VPN 4400 to it in bridge mode using static IPs and it works great and on the 4400 there are no special PPPoe settings that have to be set just standard IPs, DNSs, Gateways, Masks...
I see in the Cisco Tech Notes that it is recommended/mandatory to configure Vpdn groups and the Vlan2 to take into account the PPPoe configuration of the AT&T DSL Modem but if the DSL modem is already set in bridge mode and is handling the PPPoe authentication why does the 5505 have do it again this see,s redundant. Will try to use the example configuration additions above and post here with the results.
BTW the configuration with the DSL set as DHCP Router works without any special PPPoe configs.
Very puzzling this DSL configuration conundrum... Last point for businesses if you can use Cable or nonDSL ISP you should do so this AT&T stuff is for the birds... Angry Birds...
Thanks for the assistance in advance!!!

Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad AppHi Ferdinand. I don't know what a Smartnet contract is. How do I know if we have one? This ASA basically hasn't been touched for 5 years. Almost the entire staff has rotated through this company since then and nobody knowns anything. I found the invoice for it this morning after accounts searched for it, but it appears to have been purchased from a non services retailer. I contacted them and while they confirm they sold it to us they know nothing about it. They don't offer service.

If I understand your issue correctly, you are using User Registration and are unable to register your Cisco UC-520.
Please verify that the following settings are correct in your PBX:
Proxy Server (primary): sip.skype.com
Registrar Server: sip.skype.com
Digest Authentication: SIP User (99051000XXX)& password from Skype Connect sip profile.
Note, if you cut and paste the password, sometimes a space gets added to the field. If this happens registration will fail.
Hope this helps.

IPSec driver successfully stoppedHi Karsten,
Thank you for the reply !!! & best wishes for the new year 2014.
The problem is like this, if i select datacard connection type to NDIS it works but it doesnt work when i select RAS(modem) connection type for 3G datacard it doesnt. (NDIS and RAS(Modem) connection types are the 2 modes currently supporetd by the datacard.). Is there any case the users are experiencing from the similar problem? and what they have done to solve the issues? And thank you for the workaroung, i have checked the shrew-soft with win7 and it was working fine but not on win8, i will check shrew-soft on win8 very soon. Also we can move to the anyconnect solution but just want to know if this can solve our problem or not? whether there will be any issues with anyconnect solution for win 8 or not? can you please confim.
Thank you -
Cisco SPA112 provisioning problem: FXS_Port_Power_Limit
Hi,
We have problems provisioning specific parameter in a SPA112: FXS_Port_Power_Limit. Here is a part of our XML:
<Force_G729a_Code ua="na">*02729</Force_G729a_Code>
<FXS_Port_Power_Limit ua="na">4</FXS_Port_Power_Limit>
<FXS_Port_Input_Gain ua="na">+2</FXS_Port_Input_Gain>
<FXS_Port_Output_Gain ua="na">+2</FXS_Port_Output_Gain>
The parameter "FXS_Port_Power_Limit" is not provisioning the XML parameter (in the example: 4). It keeps the default value (3). Other parameters in the same section like FXS_Port_Input_Gain and FXS_Port_Output_Gain gets the XML value correctly.
Thanks for your advice,
Alejandro.I looked at the spc file for this model and don't see that parameter.

Cisco IP phone problem with external directory http error
Hi,
I have a problem when I try to open the directory on different model Cisco IP Phone for new deployment.
In CUCM (version 8.5) we have configured internal and external directory and on each device set the "service provisioning" to "both". For all the sites configured in CUCM this feature is working properly, but not in the new deployed site. I´ve already verified the url is written properly.
I get the following error messages for these different models:
- Cisco IP phone 8945: "HTTP connection failed"
- Cisco IP Comm: "HTTP error [500] "
Thank you for your help,
Regards,
David LozanoHi David,
What firmware are you using? Do you have 8945s on the other sites? I found a bug, but I'm not sure it applies to your description:
CSCty58000 Bug Details
8945 freezes when directories is pressed
Symptom:
8945 freezes when directories button is pressed.
Conditions:
This issue happens when the phone load is 9.2.3 and the directories URL doesn't contain port number.
Workaround:
Please use http://X.X.X.X:8080/ccmip/xmldirectory.jsp for the directories
URL instead of http://X.X.X.X/ccmip/xmldirectory.jsp
You can try upgrading to firmware 9.3(1)

we have 2801 router that connected with 2 anloga lines (FXO Card), but now we have a problem with disconnect problem, the phone still connected after the PSTN Caller Disconnect, and our policy tell that the agents shouldn't end the call, so we want when the PSTN caller end the call we need the phone to return to idle state.
and according for the below link, i configure the custom disconnect tone, and in the attachment you can find tow disconnect tones.

and the below you can find the configuration of the voice port, and you can find the debug vpm port 0/3/0, debug vpm signal, for a call that disconnected immediately, and for a call the take long time to disconnected.

Cisco Unity 8 problem: Partner Mail Server Offline
We are changing Unity 8 partner from exchange 2007 to exchange 2010. We installed the ES10, uninstalled exchange software, ran the server update wizard, installed the latest version of ExchangeMapiCdo.exe, ran permissions wizard, created mailbox for UnityMsgStoreSvc, created the throttling policy and then ran the message store wizard.
The exchange 2010 server version is SP1 with rollup 6.
The problem is that the unity is returning Information Store on the Partner mail server is offline. Two events are reported in the event viewer of the unity server:
•1) Event ID 110: The Unity Message Repository cannot communicate with the Partner Mail Server to deliver messages. Messages will be held in the temporary store until the mail server is available.
•2) Event ID 1017: The Information Store for the Unity System Mailbox on the Partner Exchange Server is offline during ExchangeMonitor Startup. All message notification processing is disabled until this has been resolved. When the Exchange Monitor detects that this server is back online, registration for notifications will proceed.
Now I set to 1 the registry key HKLM > Software > Active Voice > AvWm > 1.00 > Disable Server Status Check (DWORD) to disable the server ping check and to make AvWm assume that all Exchange servers are up all the time. Other events appeared in the event viewer including event ID 137 described as follows: Attempts to deliver Unity Message Repository messages have failed due to Unity configuration or connectivity issues with the Partner Mail Server. AvUMRSyncSvr will suspend message delivery for 300 seconds, after which message delivery will be attempted again. During this outage, messages may accumulate in the temporary store. 0x00002580
When I reset the same registry key to 0 I get warning events ID 1004 telling that each exchange server in my organization is offline. I also used the RPCtest.exe utility and it’s returning that the partner server and every other exchange server are online.
Does anyone have any idea how we can solve this problem ?Couple of questions:
1. Did you follow the integration guide for this integration? The required tasks are outlined here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/7x/using_exch2010/usingex2010withcu7x5x.html#wp46611
If you have not already done so, you'll need to make sure you cover all of the bases in the integration guide.
2. If you are migrating from 2007 to 2010 then you should have already had a mailbox for the message store service. Did you move the existing mailbox over to 2010 as noted in the integration guide? I ask because you state that you "created" a mailbox in your original post so it is not clear.

After some time when it's working perfect, it stop sending the whole nomber i dial. For ex, if i want to call to Belgium, after dial 0032 a busy tone apears (after I press 2) and when in the logs I see that the ATA tries to dial 0032. The problem is solved after I reboot the ATA. I have 3.2.1 image (050616). Does someone know who to solve this problem?

Help! Cisco WAP321 Roaming problem
I've setup 3 Cisco WAP321's with Single Point Setup turned on. SPS works great - everything propagates and I can see that all 3 WAPs have the same configuration.
However, I have a problem. With my laptop, I connect to the wireless network downstairs on WAP1. Then I walk to a remote part of the building where the only WAP within range is WAP3. My laptop disconnects from the network. When I look at the list of networks that my laptop can see, it can see my SSID with 4 bars - this is WAP3 (it's pretty far from the rest of the network, and it's separated from the other WAPs by a cinderblock wall). When I try to connect, my laptop says "cannot connect to (SSID)".
I've tried this with my Windows laptop and my iPad.
When I go back downstairs (I left my laptop up near WAP3 - definitely not in range of WAP1) and login to one of the WAPs and go to Single Point Setup > Sessions, it tells me that the MAC address of my laptop is connected to WAP1.
It seems that the WAPs are not passing my session from WAP to WAP. I cannot turn on WDS because it says that WDS doesn't work when clustering is turned on.
Am I totally wrong about the way this stuff is supposed to work? Shouldn't I be able to roam around the building and still be connected?
Any ideas?Hi Salam, thank you for using our forum, my name is Johnnatan I am part of the Small business Support community. I apologize for this inconvenience, in this case I advise you to check your configuration following this document https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-31044 in case of roaming, for the remote part of the building issue I advise you to check this other document https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-29821 I hope you find this answer useful,

Still is not working. Ip routing is activated by default and ip classless too in 12.4 ios version.
I have deleted the dialer interface and reconfig it. Then tried first with the ppp ipcp route default, but still not receiving the default route.
I have been putting back the static route with dialer 1 exit interface.

Cisco AnyConnect connection problem over WiFi
Hi guys,
I'm having some problem with Cisco AnyConnect connections.
hardware: ASA 5515-x with AnyConnect Essentials.
software: ASA Software Version 9.1(2)8
anyconnect-win-3.1.05187-k9.pk
Internet Explorer 11 on computers
Problem:
Can't connect with the AnyConnect WebLaunch on WiFi.
it's stucked for about 20sec at "Please wait while the VPN connections is established"
Then we get this error message "The IPsec VPN connection was terminated due to an atuchentication failure or timeout...."
If I click Connect in the AnyConnect Client it connects and I login with my credentials without any problem.
First thought was that my test-computer was the problem, but have tried with 3 different PCs with different hardware.
If i plugg in a network cable it works perfect with the WebLaunch.
Has anyone experience the same problem and have a solution?
Thanks in advance!
br
Robin
Update:
I still go the problem, I've updated our FW to ASA9.2(2.4).
Anyone have a clue? It works good on two of our ASA5505.The Windows Vista PC that were having problem connecting via AnyConnect, were they an upgrade from Windows XP? If they are, and they have AnyConnect installed prior, it needs to be uninstall prior to upgrading to Windows Vista as per the AnyConnect release notes:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/security/vpn_client/anyconnect/anyconnect24/release/notes/anyconnect24rn.html
Also, you might want to double check that the Vista is either with SP2 or Vista SP 1 with KB952876. -
Cisco VPN compatibility problem
I am running the Cisco VPN client (version 2.5.1025) on a late 2010 iMac and on a late 2010 Macbook Air (both running OS 10.6.7). On the iMac, there is a problem after closing the VPN connection and quitting the client: most things are normal, but I no longer have internet access on the iMac. While I seem to have a local ip address and name server, according to system setting, the internet hangs. This is true both for wired and for wireless internet. The only solution seems to be to restart the iMac, and then everything is normal.
Exactly the same version of the Cisco client works fine on the Macbook Air. It quits normally. I have no problem accessing the internet after quitting.
Can you give me any help?Where did you find this Cisco VPN Client? Did you download it from iTunes as an application?
Or was it the VPN Client that comes as part of the 1.1.4 jailbreak? -
Hello Everyone,
We're having a problem with the Cisco VPN connection capability in Snow Leopard.
The transaction complains that our shared secret is incorrect. What I believe is happening is that certain assumptions are made about the IKE proposals and encryption etc. There doesn't appear to be a place to tailor these in the connection profile. There may be at the system level (which I'm unaware of).
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I believe the same problem applies to the iPhone's Cisco VPN connector.
Furthermore, Cisco is not providing Snow-Leopard IPSec home-to-network clients any longer; they are promoting the AnyConnect SSL VPN instead, for which they have a BETA build available specifically for Snow Leopard.
So this reduces our options (yes, I'm working on VPNTracker).
Thank you.It is a known limitation that you are only able to establish a single VPN connection to the same VPN server through a router doing NAT like yours.
What client exactly do you use and what settings did you define there? -
Cisco ASA 5505 - problems getting support
My employer has an ASA 5505 device that has been here longer than any body working here. I've tried to get my hands on some updated software or support but to little avail. I've contacted Cisco support online and they keep telling me to contact my Cisco service sales representative. Now that would be fine if anybody could remember who they are. I suspect they are not even in business anymore.
Not particularly helpful at the end of the day.
I am very close to throwing in the towel with this Cisco. All I want to do is upgrade the firmware to address some known issues we are experiencing with our current firmware.
Any other avenues I am missing?Hi Ferdinand.
What are my options?
