Cisco 1130 AG's - FastEthernet Radio Disabled

Hello,
I was looking through an 1130AG trying to shut down the radios for a day to do some other testing. I accessed these through the web browser. I disabled the A and B/G radios from the location and then went to another location and disabled FastEthernet (wired) connection. I want to bring these radios back up and now I can't access the web interface because I disabled the wireless connection. Can someone please help out and direct me where to go next to enable the radios on these access point (without hopefully resetting it) and without the ability to access through the web based interface??
Thanks so much for your help

Hi Dayne you are most welcome my friend! ... sorry for misspelling your name earlier (can't read or type sometimes :)
Here is some info for using Hyperterminal/Console connections

Cisco IOS Command Modes
The Cisco IOS user interface is divided into many different modes. The commands available to you depend on which mode you are currently in. Enter a question mark (?) at the system prompt to obtain a list of commands available for each command mode.
When you start a session on the access point, you begin in user mode, often called user EXEC mode. Only a limited subset of the commands are available in user EXEC mode. For example, most of the user EXEC commands are one-time commands, such as show commands, which show the current configuration status, and clear commands, which clear counters or interfaces. The user EXEC commands are not saved when the access point reboots.
To have access to all commands, you must enter privileged EXEC mode. Normally, you must enter a password to enter privileged EXEC mode. From this mode, you must enter privileged EXEC mode before you can enter the global configuration mode.
Using the configuration modes (global, interface, and line), you can make changes to the running configuration. If you save the configuration, these commands are stored and used when the access point reboots. To access the various configuration modes, you must start at global configuration mode. From global configuration mode, you can enter interface configuration mode and line configuration mode.

  • 3600 AP %CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled

    Hi All,
I am facing issue with some 3600 APs. These aps are not joining WLC. We have total 137 APs. out of which 97 are registered but rest of them are not getting registered and I am keep getting message on AP console %CDP_PD-2-POWER_LOW: All radios disabled.
While troubleshooting I noticed that Controller can ping these IPs but with drops. So I thought it is a cable issue but when I connect AP directly to switch ports still I get ping drop from controllers IP. When I look at switch port power it shows 13.0 for all non registered APs where as working one is showing 15.4. I have checked there is no network issue. WLC can ping other APs very well being in same subnet only APs which are not getting registered are not pingable 100% there are drops while pinging APs.
All APs are in same subnet and WLC MGMT interface is in different subnet. AP joins WLC via option 43.
I am attaching logs from AP console. I am runing 7.5.102
Can any body help me on this.

I was checking another thing, usually the switches we use here in my work supports a maximum of 14W per port or 15.4w, this wap is consuming 15.2w
    Is this the problem??
the strange to me is that,in this same sw I have several WAP and they all use 12.2w
The device type in sw for WAP usually appears as LAP1131AG-AIR-E-K9 ... but this WAP appears as Ieee PD ...
What problems do you think is it?

  • LAP 1142N "Radio disabled due to PoE" after upgrade to 7.6.120

Recently, we upgraded our 5508 wireless controllers from 7.4.110.0 to 7.6.120.0.
One AP (AIR-LAP1142N-E-K9) doesn't work now.
Both radios are stuck in state 'reset':
    AP#sh int dot11Radio 0 | inc Dot11Radio0
Dot11Radio0 is reset, line protocol is down
It seems to be a PoE issue:
    AP#sh controllers dot11Radio 0
    Radio disabled due to PoE
This 1142N is connected to a HP switch (model 3800 with 802.3af/802.3at support). It did work on this switch several months before this upgrade and it works if connected to Cisco switch (Cat 6513).
We didn't upgrade the switch firmware or change its configuration.
The PoE status from the switch CLI:
PoE    | Power  Power    Alloc Alloc Actual Config   Detection   Power Pre-std
Port   | Enable Priority By    Power Power  Type     Status      Class Detect
      ------ + ------ -------- ----- ----- ------ -------- ----------- ----- ------
      21     | Yes    low      lldp  33 W  7.8 W           Delivering  3     off
Other APs (80 3602 connected to HP8212zl switches) do work without any problem.
Any idea how to solve this?

After updating to 7.6.120 we've noticed that some of our AP's wouldn't  come up. After looking in the switch's logs I found this
chassis: Ports  PoE usage has exceeded threshold of 80%.
The power drawn is 117w (show power-over-ethernet).
When I use the following command: show power-over-ethernet brief I get this:
PoE   | Power  Power    Alloc Alloc Actual Configured  Detection   Power Pre-std
Port  | Enable Priority By    Power Power  Type        Status      Class Detect
      ----- + ------ -------- ----- ----- ------ ----------- ----------- ----- ------
      1     | Yes    low      lldp  17 W  7.0 W              Delivering  3     off
      2     | Yes    low      lldp  17 W  7.0 W              Delivering  3     off
      3     | Yes    low      lldp  17 W  6.8 W              Delivering  3     off
      4     | Yes    low      lldp  17 W  7.1 W              Delivering  3     off
      5     | Yes    low      lldp  17 W  7.0 W              Delivering  3     off
      6     | Yes    low      lldp  17 W  6.9 W              Delivering  3     off
      7     | Yes    low      lldp  17 W  6.8 W              Delivering  3     off
      8     | Yes    low      lldp  17 W  6.7 W              Delivering  3     off
      9     | Yes    low      lldp  17 W  6.9 W              Delivering  3     off
      10    | Yes    low      usage 17 W  0.0 W              Disabled    3     off
Port 10 is where the missing AP is on.
How is it possible that after the update to 7.6.120 the AP won't work anymore?

  • Bluetooth radio disables itself

My wife has a BlackBerry Pearl and since she is not on an enterprise server, I have it set up to connect to our home PC using Bluetooth.  It works beautifully and will perform a wireless sync of her calendar and contacts whenever she is within range of the PC.  The only problem is that the BT radio on the phone has a mind of its own and turns itself off after some time.  I haven't determined if there is any sort of cue for it to turn itself off or not.  I just know that every couple of days, I grab her phone to make sure that she has been syncronizing regularly (of course she doesn't) and the BT radio is off.  I then enable the radio, at which point the PC prompts for a connection and the sync routine then launches.
I've seen other threads in this forum that talk about the BT radio disabling after a period of inactivity when connected to a headset.  I would assume that this is the same problem.  Any answers???

  • Aironet 1100 Radio disabled at power up

Just setting up an Aironet 1100. Anytime I reboot (or if power is lost) it comes up with the "radio" disabled. I understand that this may be the default behavior before configuring but shouldn't it remember the settings so it reboots to the last state? I am sure it is not desired to have to reenable the radio on every AP after a power failure. What am I missing?
    Thanks. Bruce
Model info and software versions below:

    System Software Filename: c1100-k9w7-tar.123-8.JEB1
    System Software Version: 12.3(8)JEB1
    Bootloader Version: 12.3(2)JA4

    Thanks Mike:
I had seen that info about 12.3(4)---but thought that applied to default behavior and not whether it would explain losing the enabled status at every reboot.
Should I try to upgrade the bootloader to a newer version (can that be done, where are the files?). Some of the terminology is confusing. I wasn't sure if that applied to my system (12.3(2)JA4) since that talks about 12.3(4)JA2 having the radio disabled by default and no SSID.
I actually had tried to upload the newest system software (from JEB1) but that failed.
Does the system software upgrade also update the bootloader version or are they independant?
    thanks for you help

I have already performed the ap: set BOOT etc commands a dozen times with the same results.
It says: The system is not configured to boot automatically.
I've been trying to get this one going for 4 months now..it was knocked out during a power outage while upgrading it.

I didn't know how to get to global configuration mode - I did manage to get there with a bit of guess work.
    You use AP: Boot
Let it go through the boot process then at the AP> prompt, [enable] priviledged command set, type in password.
At AP# prompt type [config] then press enter for [terminal] at AP#[config] type NO BOOT MANUAL press [Enter] key and reboot AP.
Question...Do I have to use a WRITE command to write the configuration to CMOS?
I did just play it safe.

  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure 2.1 error-disable alert

We have a cisco PI 2.1 managing switches and a lot of switchports have BPDUGuard enabled. When occur error-disable , request send email notification to administrator .
By default, when a port of a switch goes down, the Prime generates alarm for that. (this is a problem, because every laptop disconnection will generate alarm for administrator)
Can i change the alert just for error-disable and how to ?
    Thanks

    Causes of Errdisable
This feature was first implemented to handle special collision situations in which the switch detected excessive or late collisions on a port. Excessive collisions occur when a frame is dropped because the switch encounters 16 collisions in a row. Late collisions occur after every device on the wire should have recognized that the wire was in use. Possible causes of these types of errors include:
A cable that is out of specification (either too long, the wrong type, or defective)
A bad network interface card (NIC) card (with physical problems or driver problems)
    A port duplex misconfiguration
A port duplex misconfiguration is a common cause of the errors because of failures to negotiate the speed and duplex properly between two directly connected devices (for example, a NIC that connects to a switch). Only half-duplex connections should ever have collisions in a LAN. Because of the carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) nature of Ethernet, collisions are normal for half duplex, as long as the collisions do not exceed a small percentage of traffic.
There are various reasons for the interface to go into errdisable. The reason can be:
    Duplex mismatch
    Port channel misconfiguration
    BPDU guard violation
    UniDirectional Link Detection (UDLD) condition
    Late-collision detection
    Link-flap detection
    Security violation
    Port Aggregation Protocol (PAgP) flap
Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) guard
    DHCP snooping rate-limit
Incorrect GBIC / Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) module or cable
    Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) inspection
    Inline power
Note: Error-disable detection is enabled for all of these reasons by default. In order to disable error-disable detection, use the no errdisable detect cause command. The show errdisable detect command displays the error-disable detection status.

  • Aironet 1100 as repeater: radio disabled!?!

I followed the directions according to the configuration guide 12.3(8)JA but the repeater never connects to the root AP and I notice the radio is "disabled" after setting the AP in repeater mode and it will not let me enable it. Any ideas as to why I cannot get the two Aironet 1100 AP's to connect and why the radio would be "disabled"?
    Thanks

I have no security in place and the SSID are the exact same. I have the AP's about 15 ft apart so the coverage should be fine. The parent mac address is correct. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • Cisco 1130 AP connection speed?

What speed do Cisco 1130AG access points connect to the network via the Ethernet port? Is it a 10/100 connection or does it support gigabit? I've searched and can't seem to find this information. Thanks!

    Hi Lillie,
If you want an AP with 10/100/1000BaseTx copper uplink then 1140 or 1250 is your way to go.
Data Sheet Cisco Aironet 1140 Series Access Point
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps10092/datasheet_c78-502793.html
Data Sheet Cisco Aironet 1250 Series Access Point Data Sheet
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps6973/ps8382/product_data_sheet0900aecd806b7c5c.html
If you are going to choose the 1250, note that the Antennaes are optional. Here's some information regarding them.
Antenna Product Portfolio for Cisco Aironet 1250 Series Access Points
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps7183/ps469/at_a_glance_c45-513837.pdf
The AP1250, when operating with 2 radio modules on Autonomous IOS, requires a minimum of 18.5 watts (ePoE). So you'll need either a Power Injector or PoE switch that will support enhanced PoE such as the 3560-E or 3750-E.

  • MSI FM Radio disables network

    Hello guys
I just installed TVAnywhere Master in my PC last week and it works fine. Recently I noticed a strange problem that whenever I run MSI Radio, the traffic on my network connection stops moving. I have a Realtek chip based fastethernet card which I use to connect to the other PC in my home.
I have tried so far the following:
    * Changed PCI slots for the ethernet and Tuner card
    * Update latest drivers for the ethernet cards.
    * Verified MSI drivers are the latest as per forum posts and MSI support site.
    * Updated WinXP with all system updates reported by windowsupdate except SP2.
    * Checked WinXP event logs for any abnormality, nothing there.
As soon as windows starts MPCSYS driver, network traffic stops moving. The connection remains there, card and network remains enabled but no data movement. Have tried assigning fix IP to the card but that did not help either.
The TV software doesnot exhibit this beaviour. MSIPVS runs just fine. I have not enabled the DVB option yet in MSIPVS.
Have done some googling but cannot find any reference to a similar problem. So i dediced to post here hoping i can find a solution.
    Any ideas folks???

Thanks msivictim. Unfortunately that did not help.
I was able to resolve this problem by moving the network card before the Tuner card. i.e. I installed the network card closest to the CPU and moved the tuner card to the last slot i.e. farthest from CPU.
Now I can listen to the radio and use the network at the same time.

  • Wireless LAN Management - Cisco 1130 WLSE Error.

    Hello,
I'm tearing my hair out over a Cisco WLSE 1130, I recently purchased it and I'm trying to run the Recovery CD.
I've downloaded the 2.15 Recovery CD ISO image from Cisco and created a working CD
I've run into a wall with the Recovery CD - the WLSE begins to boot from it, but will stop almost immediately in a LINUX loading screen like this:
    Loading initrd.lmg..............ok
    Loading vminuz..................ready.
Uncompressing Linux... Ok, booting the kernel.
I tried downloading the different ISO version image again, with the same result.
When I logged onto the console port at the back after series of messages, I get the following result.
    --------------- ME1110 Maintenance Image -----------------
    INIT: Entering runlevel: 1
bash: no job conEXT2-fs warning: checktime reached, running e2fsck is recommended
    trol in this shell
    CDROM is hde
Partitioning the drive: size = 78150744.
Error: Version infomation not found in flash.
    flushing ide devices:
    hda hde
    Restarting system.
And then it just hangs there instead.
Has anyone had these kinds of problems before and how did they get round them?
I'm under the impression that the Recovery CD has a full HD image of the WLSE - it rewrites everything on the WLSE hard disk, including the filesystem, partitions and the LINUX OS, not just the Cisco bits on top of those?
Is there a limit to what version of the OS a WLSE 1030 can run (the 2.1.15 CD won't load because of this?)?
Is there another way to get into the recovery image?
Is there a ghost image or something of a virgin WLSE server hard drive somewhere, to reimage the WSLE HDD offline?
    Is my WLSE toast?
Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.
    Kind Regards
    AB

That error message is recoverable by two things, try them in the following order:
    1. Burn a new iso CD with a slower speed (no more than 4x).
    2. Open a TAC case for a Replacement Unit (RMA)

  • Cisco 1230 access point a radio lightweight mode

Will the cisco 1230 access point work in lighweight mode if it is using a radio?

    The 1230 can be upgraded to LWAPP with the A Radio model listed below;
    Solution Requirements
Migration from autonomous access point mode to lightweight mode is possible on these Cisco Aironet access point platforms:
    All 1130AG access points
    All 1240 AG access points
For all IOS-based 1200 series modular access point (1200/1220 Cisco IOS Software Upgrade, 1210 and **1230 AP**) platforms, it depends on the radio:
    if 802.11G, MP21G and MP31G are supported
    if 802.11A, RM21A and RM22A are supported
The 1200 series access points can be upgraded with any combination of supported radios: G only, A only, or both G and A.
    All 1310 AG access points
