  • CISCO 1841 with SHDSL Problem?

    Hello,
I´am new in cisco WIC configuration. I have a CISCO 1841 with a interface: 1SHDSL v3 and i want to connect to my ISP over a PPoE encapsulation.
I just make the new interface connection in SDM, but the synchronism with the ISP not work. The ISP tell me that VPI/VCI is 0.35 and the annex is the A.
I live in the Europe, but i think that the annex A is for POTS lines and Annex B for ISDN, right?? My line is ADSL Analog.
    My startup-configuration is that:

    2. Some connected to it cisco 79xx ip-phones

    4. Every device is logged in the gatekeeper, and every call i settled with the use of it.
    5. We have a third party VoIP gateway - MultiTechs MultiVoIP - also registered in the gatekeeper.
    6. Now the connections history:
    a) when phoning from the gateway to cisco - everything works fine.
    b) when phoning fromn cisco to the gateway - the connection failes - it looks like CISCO ISN'T FORWARDING ANY INDENTITY DATA - NO IP ADDRESS, AND H323-ID - GETS TO THE GATEWAY!!!!!

I would recommend posting in the netpro forums about this.
    http://www.cisco.com/go/netpro
This site is for the Cisco Small Business Pro routers.
For your problem though, you might try looking at your boot system command in your running config to make sure that it is accurate.

    Federico,
There is something quite strange going on but one thing has caught my attention in particular. This is a part of your transcript:
Send break at this time , then :
Do you want to reset the router to factory default configuration and proceed [y/n] ? y Reset router configuration to factory default.cisco 1760 (MPC860P) processor (revision 0x500) with 55706K/9830K bytes of memory.Processor board ID FOC07450X9P (3881152211), with hardware revision 0000MPC860P processor: part number 5, mask 2Bridging software.X.25 software, Version 3.0.0.1 FastEthernet/IEEE 802.3 interface(s)32K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.32768K bytes of processor board System flash (Read/Write)WARNING:Executing this command will disable password recovery mechanism.Do not execute this command without another plan forpassword recovery. Are you sure you want to continue? Notice that the first question is whether you want to erase the configuration - you respond with yes, and the router continues booting. The second question displayed clearly shows that the router continues loading the configuration file and in particular processes the no service password-recovery command.
What would happen if you answered with n to this second question, preventing the router from accepting the no password-recovery stored command? Could you reload the router afterwards and try the password recovery procedure again?
Also, if this router has a removable Flash card, would you be able to enter the ROMMON and set the configuration register to 0x2142 if you removed the card and tried booting the router?
    Best regards,
    Peter

  • Cisco 1760 my default GW. Optimizing external interface.

    Hello, my current setup is....
    [comcast 10 Mbps]<----->[Cisco 1760]<------->[Dell PowerConnect 3024]--------[LAN]
I have a WIC-1ENET on my 1760 connected to the the motorola cable modem.  I was wondering if there are any specific commands I should apply to an external interface to improve performance, or keep unwanted traffic from being sent out.
    interface Ethernet0/0
    ip address dhcp
    no ip redirects
    no ip proxy-arp
    ip nat outside
    no ip route-cache cef
    no ip route-cache
    no ip mroute-cache
    half-duplex
    priority-group 1
    no cdp enable
That is my current setup for my external interface.  I have the priority set for my xbox 360.  So that netflix gets highest priority.  This allows for me to get HD streams 90% of the time, with little to no slow downs from others using the network.  I would like to set full-duplex, but doing so brings the connections to the internet down to a crawl.  I don't know if this is because the cable modem needs to be reset after full-duplex has been set, or what.
I have seen some configurations with a hold-queue value.  Would this help me any?  Speed tests using dlsreports i see about 8Mbps/1.5Mbps down/up.  I have modified the nat tcp timeout to 10 minutes.
    Thanks for any information guys.

Regarding the duplex settings on Ethernet 0/0 there are some rules in the standards. If you set the duplex manually on the interface auto negotiation is turned off and requested duplex will not be ‘announced’ to your cable modem. The default behavior according to the standard is for the cable modem to use half duplex. This will also happen if you set Ethernet 0/0 to full duplex since auto negotiation is turned off.
So in order to get full duplex you have two options:
    1) Use the command ‘duplex auto’ on Ethernet 0/0
    2) Configure both Ethernet 0/0 and your cable modem to full duplex.

    Problem :
    1. When I test call from CME Phone both SIP and SCCP Phone by dial 3500 or 3501, I get the busy tone.
    2. Debug voip dial-peer, match with dial-peer voice 3500 for (aa service) & 3501 for (aa-drop service).
    3. Debug voice application script, show nothing.
Is there something wrong with my configuration ?

    Hi Novriadi,
    In your configuration
    service aa flash:/app-b-acd-aa-3.0.0.2.tcl
    service queue flash:/app-b-acd-3.0.0.2.tcl
    paramspace english location flash://
Remove "/" and "//" from the configuration
Then use the call application voice load command in privileged EXEC mode to reload the scripts.
Router# call application voice load aa
Router# call application voice load queue
Router# call application voice load aa-drop

  • Cisco UCM with Third Party Contact Center Solution

Hi all, hope everyone is well.
Anyone out there running Cisco UCM with a third party contact center solution ? would love to hear your experience on this subject.
    Thanks in advance !!
    Danny

I have not heard of any sucessful stories, which vendor are you considering and what would you not go with UCCE/UCCX?
I used to work for Rockwell (Aspect today) which attempted to integrate their Business Contact Solution with CUCM (back on 3.3) and it worked OK for low volume calls, but never had any customer adoption.
I have not heard of any other known ACD vendors integrating with CUCM.

  • Using Cisco WCS with Microsoft IAS

    Hi.
I have two 5508 and WCS 7.0.172. I want to user Active Directory users credintals to login on ther WCS. Have a configurated NPS role on server with windows 2008 r2.
I have read this http://zmq503o1.wordpress.com/2008/01/06/using-cisco-wcs-with-microsoft-ias/ and done the same.
I dont't agree with "on the "Encryption" tab and clear all the checkboxes except "No encryption" - wants an encryption connection but this didn't work till in user's properites in AD permit "Reversible encryption". This is not what that I want.  Would I need to generate ssl-cert for the wcs as wroted this?http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/wcs/7.0MR1/configuration/guide/hard.html#wp1042471
    or doing smth else? thx

Camera is only supported for use with CUVA. Any other application attempting to utilize the camera is not tested and is not supported.

  • Cisco IronPort with On Premise Exchange 2013

    Hello All
The company I work for is in the process of starting an on premise Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 migration.
Most of the issues I don't think I'll have an issue with; however, where I am not finding much info is in regards to other companies using Cisco IronPort with Exchange 2013.
SO, I have two questions within this topic...
One, is anyone using Cisco IronPort with Exchange 2013 (on premise) out here?
Two, my manager is very controlling.  I am the Exchange Admin; however, anything having to do with this IronPort thing with regards to Exchange HE has to do it. So, if anyone is familiar with this IronPort thing... How much work on the IronPort is going
to have to be done during this migration to keep things going?

It shouldn't be any different with Exchange 2013 than it is with Exchange 2007.

  • Cisco 1700 with MP-BGP and VRF support

I have a Cisco 1721 with MP-BGP Support, you can create VRFs with it and every other MPLSVPN feature, but the commands for MPLS switching are not supported like Router(config-if)mpls ip , I read in some forums that you can create MPLS VPN without enabling MPLS at all, just with MPBGP, but I couldn't do it myself, Can someone tell me how to make it work or what can I do with a Cisco 1721 that supports MP-BGP?
    thanks in advance

Here is an example. Take care about overhead for packets like VoIP. The overhead is 88 bytes.
The packet semms something like that.
    IpHeader-pub@ - NAT-Tudp4500 - ESP - IpHeader-priv@(vrf discriminator) - GRE - Original IP Header - Data - Esp Trailer.
In this case you neet tunnel-mode because you use
private @ in order to determine vrf (vrf discriminator).
This is a LAB config, all other security parameters you need on a router are not configured. If you add access-list on the external interface of REMOTE you have to understand every encapsulation step in order to well tune it.
    Good reading.
The PPT draw shows physically and logically views.
PS, take care about fragmentation issues, the problematic is still not well managed by the routers, I could not made Tunnel-path-mtu discovery work with vrf's. The workaround is to fragment packets. It's not good for performance but actually there is no other solution concerning that.
    Kind Regards
    Miguel

  • Cisco 2621 with 2821

I have a Cisco 2621 with 2FXS and 2FXO for my landlines, can I setup my 2821 to use my 2621 to make outside calls?
Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App

That should work in my opinion. The 2821 is running CCME? But is that worth the effort? Can't you place the VWICs into the 2821 instead in the 2621?

  • 1760 with 4 VIC2-4FXO

I want to use four FXO in a Router 1760, but I saw a limitation in the web that said:
    “Restrictions on VIC2-4FXO Usage
When configured for operation in countries that use the TBR21 mode, the use of VIC2-4FXO cards is subject to the following limitations.
    · In the Cisco 1751 router, a maximum of one VIC2-4FXO card can be supported.
    · In the Cisco 1760 router, a maximum of two VIC2-4FXO cards can be supported.
When not operating in the TBR21 mode, these limitations do not apply.
These restrictions do not apply to VIC2-2FXO cards”
I have to install this equipment in Argentina but I don’t know if that apply here.
    Regards,

TBR21 is current limiting mode used in europe:
Use in Europe (TBR21 certification) requires modem firmware 1.0.1 and Cisco IOS Version 11.3(5)T or 12.0(1)T. You must load the modem microcode in addition to the Cisco IOS software.
For European countries, configure modem country microcom europe (this selects TBR21 operation). Country code "europe" requires Cisco IOS Version 11.3(5)T or 12.0(1)T.
You should not be in TBR21 mode in Argentina.
    Hope this helps....
