CISCO 2125 bad design by Cisco, product development should revise
I noticed Cisco product sales support staff is pushing 2125 WLAN controller as great WLAN solution. They got me into considering one as something what will work just fine.
I strongly disagree, this product is extremely poor design and it is missing gigabit port for LAN connection.
This product will support 25 APs with its eight 10/100 Mbps ports. Only 6 APs can be linked per port. So for 25 APs you are already using 5 ports. Per manual POE ports 7 & 8 should not be used for anything other than single AP so that leaves you with only 1 port #6 to connect to your LAN.
Yes, that is true, 100Mbps for all the WLAN users on the 25 access points and product is advertised to support high speed N wi-fi capable of doing 300Mbps per user node. What a nonsense? makes no sense even for lightweight use.
Makes you wonder who approved such product for production and what a bad design on the $6K piece of equipment
CISCO please put a Gigabit port on the 2100 series or stop marketing and pushing such poorly designed product.

CISCO please put a Gigabit port on the 2100 series or stop marketing and pushing such poorly designed productI don't know who you discussed your design with but you were not educated on the use of the product very well. The 2125 is meant to support more than 12 APs in a very light client deployment of 20 or fewer users. If you need more horsepower then you need the 4402-25. This is a reseller issue and not a Cisco design issue. I have deployed over 300 2100 series controllers and the only problem I have is with customer education. See the attached guidelines.

Cisco 5508 interface design problem
Cisco 5508 interface design
now i have connect wlc into infra same picture but ap can't register into wlc. How create interface for this diagram. please help me because access switch is unmanage switch i can't config trunk on this.i can install for this solution this isn't ?
thank you for best support.
samyWhy are your AP's on different Vlans?
If you plan to create SSID's on different Vlans then you will need a trunk port to the WLC as the switch needs to pass tagged frames to it and the WLC needs to pass tagged frames back.
Out of interest, you are using a 5508 which is a fairly expensive piece of kit yet you are connecting it to an unmanaged switch. Why? -

RFC 3261defines ways to provide increased security for a SIP session.
The following describes areas in SIP that provides security for the protocol
1. Authenticating users.
We need to authenticate a user to ensure that the sender of the message is who he claims to be.
To achieve this SIP uses digest authentication between a UAC, proxy and a UAS. This provides the most basic level of authentication challenge between a client, proxy and a server.
2. Secure SIP signalling
The next area we can secure is SIP signalling itself. For this we use SSL/TLS. This is similar to using https in web browsers. With TLS before our any signalling is exchange X.509 certificates are used create a secure TLS channel. All our SIP messages are then transported within the secure channel.
NB: The digest authentication mentioned above for authenticating a user agent is just authentication. The messages are not protected from reading or modification hence it is recommended that these messages are carried inside a secure TLS channel for better security.
3. Privacy and Identification
Additional security features in SIP provides means where any user can choose to either reveal or conceal his identity.
4.Secure RTP
SIP also provides the ability to secure the media channel. It is not enough to secure signalling while anyone can listen to the media. RFC3830 discusses how the encryption should be done.
5. S/MIME
S/MIME encapsulation is used to protect sip headers making it impossible for any one in between the sender and receiver to modify the sip headers

I think I found a bug/bad design - what am i missing?
Hi Edwin and the team,
This is my first post as I'm sinking my teeth into the PM Server and Designer. We're considering to use the BPEL technology in the BIG way. And I think it's very cool as the Web Services-based EAI delivers a cost-effective and not proprietary solution!
Let me describe to you what I believe is a bug or a dubious design. In the Designer, File>New>Oracle BPEL Project creates a new project with a file bpel.xml. For example, look at your CreditFlow sample. In that file there is <partnerLinkBinding name="..." <property name=wsdlLocation"> http://<host name of the WSDL host server>/....
when the partner WSDL is hosted on the localhost that <host name> in the line above is the name of my machine instead of 'localhost'. Then, <project name>.bpel validation crashes when you're in the off-line (disconnected) mode or connected via VPN gateway (since obviously you think you don't need a proxy because everything is local). But, even if it works inside the LAN I think it's a bad design; since it's generated automatically by Designer the developer doesn't have a clue what's wrog when he/she needs to debug your code. The Designer should stick there 'localhost' instead of the the name of my computer on the network.
Here how I spotted it. I generated you CreditFlow sample in the Quick Start Tutorial. I went by the book, Compiled the CreditFlow.bpel and it crashed! The book did not say it was supposed to crash. The book said everything should be honky dory. The Validator printed a message: "connection timeout...." Since I'm new to the BPEL it took me awhile to figure out and once I stick 'localhost' in the right place in bpel.xml everything worked. Again, I was running everything on localhost.
If I helped you guys - great or what am I missing here?
The problem is that if my company decides to convert the Biz Analysts into BPEL modelers how could a BA figure out the solution to the problem like this? He/She would just give up and tell the Technologists (us) that this is a bad product.
Thanks,
Greg
P.S. What happened to Doron Sherman (CTO) and the old Collaxa folks? He is not listed in the ORCL directory. For those who don't know BPEL Server and Designer were developed by Collaxa and ORCL bought that company last year.Hi Gregory,
I think that the problem you are reporting is a proxy configuration error. There are 2 places where you need to configure the proxy: in the obsetenv.bat and in the eclipse>windows>preferences>BPEL Designer.
If the server is up and the proxy configuration is correct, you should not receive a timeout error.
Let me try to explain why it is not possible/desirable to have localhost: the url is generated by the server when it generates a WSIL list of the processes deployed on the server. The server does not know if the client requesting this list is local or remote, this is why he uses the real host name (otherwise remote client would not be able to connect to the service).
One additional note: the tool is not currently targeted at business analyst (unless they have some development background). BPEL entails some inherent complexity: parallel processing, async interactions, exception management, WSDL, XML Schema, transformation. So although we are working hard on continuously simplifying the implementation and increasing the productivity, we are still targeting application developers.
I hope this helps.

Want to playback archived webcast recorded using Cisco webex recording. Downloaded Cisco webex meeting software from apple download page but still cannot play recording
You will probably find better support about the features of the Webex app on their support page here: http://www.webex.com/products/web-conferencing/mobile-iphone-ipad-faq.html
Doesn;t look like it's listed as a feature of the iPad app. -
Rough BOM at the time of product development
dear expert:
excuse my nascent approach. i dont know how to address this but my client is asking to fullfill the below requirement
we are Apparel manufacturing company. as per our scenerio we pass a long development period approx 6 months before receiving confirm sales order. we need to create preliminary or rough BOM at this stage to manage the sudden load of information. as during the development time we just got little information about the product and it is subject to change is it possible to create a rough BOM and update it continuously as and when required with proper material code and finally when we are sure we need to confirm it as final BOM.
please suggest.
best regards
javed iqbalDear
We are dealing this kind scinario in small project business where total product developement takes mini 4-5 motnhs and based on design BOM is not confirmed 100% .
So we do estomation through Quotation stage -VA21 where we follow Unit costing methodology with variable and item details based on the customer requirement. Some time we also create Engineering BOM based on the design lay out and after final approval and contractual aggrement , we logg sales order for cost roll up based on the approve BOM and routing .There may be lot consumables as well low cost material required , which we add directly at Production order but the most crtifcal items are in Qoutation or estimation stage /Engineering BOM.
But if you want to create BOM at the intial stage and subsequently , want to trace the changes doen then you should adop ECM ( Engineeting Change Management ) .For engineering change management to be activated you need to define in
modification parameters that ECM is to be active.

Settlement of New Product Development Projects
Hi Experts,
We are working on New Product Development project. Our client involves in development of a proto-type as per their client's requirement. Receipt of Sales order, Design, Production of Prototype Sample & customer approval are the stages invloved.
But no revenue will be generated until the delivery & approval of Sample.
How can we settle these kind of projects? Please advise.
Thanks & Regards,
KabirHi Hemant & Venu,
Thanks for the replies. Points awarded.
@Hemant...There is no billing element used in this project. I guess i cannot consider this as an Investment project fully as it does not have an Asset. Please correct me and advise.
@Venu...Can i settle all objects to the cost center for this kind of project? Please help me with Settlement configuration Tips.

Cisco Works NCM Driver for Cisco IPS/IDS
Hi,
Does anybody happen to know if there are drivers for the Cisco Works NCM that support Cisco IDS/IPS devices?
Thanks!!http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps4077/products_configuration_guide_book09186a00807a8a2a.html
your vendor is on crack
you can do any think you want .... but depends how many ports you have on the IPS
If you get an ips 4215 w/ 4 fastethernet ports you can do any combination -
Can sap ps be used for product development for cost monitoring?
sap-pp is configured but client insisting for product development they want sap-ps ,can sap ps be used for product development for cost monitoring in textile industry?and how to configure with reference to sap-pp?
venkatdas vangaHi,
SAP PS has good Integration with PP and FI CO modules. So goes well along the ETO scenario.
The normal process is that Project is created and goes in to design phase , where we design product as per customer's requirement . Design BOM helps in this.Once you design is ready you can generate Production Orders base on MRP generated with reference to Projects.
All the cost including overheads are charged to the Project as actual cost.
These costs are later settled to Cost Center.

No Audio on either end Cisco Jabber for Windows over Cisco AnyConnect
Our telephony staff is replacing our aging/unsupported VoIP system with a Cisco system and as the network tech, I'm trying to get Jabber for Windows to work over our AnyConnect VPN client. Jabber to Cisco phone and Jabber to Jabber calls work fine within our LAN.
However, when I take a laptop to a separate internet connection and connect to the network via the VPN, I can't get any audio to pass across the system, in either direction. If I call a phone on our LAN using the Jabber client (via AnyConnect), the phone rings and when I answer it, it's just dead air on both ends. If I reverse the process, calling from the phone to the Jabber client, the same thing, Jabber client rings, but dead air both ways once I answer.
Things I can do from the laptop over the VPN connection:
I'm able to get to the phone's web interface using that same laptop.
I can ping the phone as well. In fact, the VPN profile I'm using has full access to the entire VoIP Vlan including all IP traffic (all ~65,000 ports).
Searching the address book also works fine. I can search for staff and it's pulling directly from our Active Directory environment.
Is there any special settings on the firewall that I need to setup to allow the voice traffic (which I assume is RTP traffic)? I tried to add a service policy for RTP traffic, but that didn't seem to work...unless I built it wrong.
Jabber for Windows - 10.6.0
Cisco Anyconnect - 3.1.06079
Cisco 5515-x ASA - 9.2I was able to resolve this on my own. I thought that SIP traffic needed to be inspected via the global inspection policy in order for it to pass through the firewall. I ran into the same issue with ICMP traffic from an Anyconnect client to LAN devices. I had to enable ICMP in that policy for us to be able to ping LAN devices over the VPN tunnel. So when I saw that SIP was already being inspected by this policy, I moved on looking for other solutions. Then I stumbled deep within a Google search (almost hit the end of the Internet doing so) where someone mentioned that SIP shouldn’t be inspected by that policy. So I unchecked it and bam! Voice is now working over the anyconnect client to phones on the LAN.

Trying to get home sharing working on a corporate wireless network. Cisco wireless.

ITunes account up to date
All devices laterst software.
Can ping apll tv from laptop
can ping apple tv from ipad
Can ping ipad from laptop
can ping laptop from ipad.
Apple tv never sees any other device.
Any ideas?Fascinating just reading about your setup. I have a WRT350N and have noticed that it will drop its speed, sometimes down to 1Mbps. It seems to do so at about the same time every day, but usually comes back to speed in about 5 minutes. In my experience, the Apple TV will disconnect if the speed falls this low. Try monitoring the Linksys with Netstumbler, Vistumbler, or just in the Windows Network utility.
Check the "lease obtained" and "lease expired" times for your router to see if that is when the network fails. I've just finished reading an angry thread over at the Linksys forum about the WRT330N where someone mentioned that the router wasn't renewing its lease.
"I cannot set it run off automatic DHCP from the WRT330N, the router will not assign it an IP every time the lease expires, causing me to have to manually set an IP on the Print server. That's annoying. Having the router drop IP's to individual machines after 12-48 hours...very annoying."
http://forums.linksys.com/linksys/board/message?board.id=Wireless_Routers&thread .id=67412
If that is the problem, then I would consider setting up a Static IP address for your Apple TV. You can do that through the user interface -> Settings -> Network -> Configure ... (Quite intuitive as you only have change IP address and the subsequent details remain the same.)
My router assigns IP Addresses in the ranges of 192.168.1.100 ->149. The idea here is to choose an address outside of that range but is not greater than 192.168.1.253 (and should not end in the number 1). You shouldn't have to change the linksys router as long as 50 clients are assigned in that range. You'll have to figure that out by accessing your router webpage at browser address 192.168.1.1 -> the default password is "admin" (without the quotes).
Good luck. -

Cisco ACS 4.2 authenticating Cisco 4710 ACE appliance failed
Hi,
I've got a problem with Cisco ACS 4.2 authenticating Cisco 4710 ACE appliance.
ACS4.2 has been configured to use both internal and external database. It's been working fine for a couple or years.
Recently we bought a Cisco 4710 ACE appliance. When I use ACS4.2 internal username and password to login the Cisco 4710 ACE appliance, I have no problem. I can also see the passed authentication log on ACS4.2. However, if I use AD username and password, I couldn't login in. The message is "Login incorrect". I checked the failed attempts log on the ACS4.2, there was no log regarding the failed attempt. My AD username and password works fine on all other cisco routers and switches.
I've posted my AAA configuration of the 4710 ACE below. ACE is running on the latest version A4(1.1). Please help.
tacacs-server key 7 "xxxxxxxxxxxxx"
aaa group server tacacs+ tac_admin
server xx.xx.xx.xx
aaa authentication login default group tac_admin local
aaa authentication login console group tac_admin local
aaa accounting default group tac_adminHi,
Since the ACS is receiving the request.
Could you please ensure that In ACE on every context (including Admin and other) you have following strings:
tacacs-server host x.x.x.x key 7 "xxx"
aaa group server tacacs+ tac_admin
server x.x.x.x
aaa authentication login default group tac_admin local
aaa authentication login console group tac_admin local
aaa accounting default group x.x.x.x
On ACS side for group named "Network Administrators" you should configure in TACACS settting:
1. Shell (exec) enable
2. Privilege level 15
3. Custom attributes:
shell:Admin*Admin default-domain
if you have additional context add next line
shell:mycontext*Admin default-domain
After loging to ACE and issuing sh users command you should see following
User Context Line Login Time (Location) Role Domain(s)
*adm-x Admin pts/0 Sep 21 12:24 (x.x.x.x) Admin default-domain
Hope this helps.

Anisha
