Cisco 2500 with DSL

hi there, I have two cisco 2500 routers, having AUI interfaces. both locations have DSL connection from verizon,. is there anyway i can use these routers with DSL if yes then do i need to buy any special module

Hello.
the only way I could see you router being integrated into a DSL solution is by connecting the Ethernet port of your ADSL router/modem to the Ethernet AUI port of your 2500. But unless you have a 2514 (which has two Ethernet ports), that would still not get you anywhere, since you need an additional Ethernet port to connect your switch...

  • Cisco E1000/ Westel Model 327W with DSL connection

I have a Westel model 327W for my DSL service.  I received it from my internet provider (Bellsouth). I recently purchased a Cisco E1000 router for what I though was a easy connect. For two days off and on I have tried to connect them but I have not been able. I'm not very computer smart but I do know the basics. I have managed to cripple one desktop and a laptop that had wireless or ethernet to the point the system tells me they are not equiped with wireless cards and my wireless range on the computer I'm typing on is about 5 feet.  Can someone explain to me how to connect the Westel DSL to the Cisco router.

The Cisco Connect software comes with the Linksys Wireless-N (E/EA - Series) routers that let you manage your network easier. For the setup process, you need to perform the following:
    i.   Verify that there is an active Internet connection between the computer and modem
ii. Setting up the router using Cisco Connect
    QUICK TIPS:
The router’s power adapter needs to be plugged to your router and into an available power outlet.
If using a wired connection, the first Ethernet cable needs to be plugged to the computer’s LAN port into any of the router’s blue numbered Ethernet ports.
The second Ethernet cable should be plugged to the modem’s Internet port and the other end into the router’s yellow Internet port.
Ensure that you have no firewall enabled that may prevent the router from being detected.

  • Cisco or Linksys DSL router that will work with Windows XP Pro?

Any suggestions for a CISCO or LINKSYS DSL router to replace a Zyxel (Century Link) PK5001Z? System is Windows XP Pro, 20 wireless and wired devices connected (including 6 CISCO WVC210 IP cameras ). The Zyxel forwards as many ports as I want, but will only open a limited number of the ports. This limits my access thru the internet (local network sees all cameras). Zyxel support is unable to help.

Hi Edward, if you're looking for a modem/router combo device, Cisco offers the SRP500 series. However this product is EOS/EOL. The small business product line does not have any other DSL termination router aside the SRP series. If your goal is to use a DSL modem and then have a router, you may want to consider RV325 router as it is very feature rich and quite robust.

  • Unable to configure PPPoE in Cisco 877 for DSL connectivity

    Hi,
I am trying to setup a DSL connection with Cisco 877 as the CPE. The CLI does not list the option of PPPoE for protocol in the vpdn group config prompt. If i manually enter PPPoE as the encapsulation, the vpdn group configured vanishes from the config!
Any clues? Has anyone got a sample config for a cisco 877 connecting to DSL through PPPoE. I followed the sample config in the TAC website giving the example for cisco 827-pppoe -DSL.
Some more inputs - as soon as i connect the DSL line the ATM interface line protocol comes up but unable to see anything in debug vpdn or debug ppp auth. The router IOS feature set is Advanced Security services.

  • Using a Cisco RV180W with wired LAN

    Hello everyone!
I have a small client with a pair of RV180W's. They wish to create one large wireless area where users can walk around from the area around one 'router' to the other without needing to reset their wireless connection on their mobile device. Logically the client wishes to setup a WDS repeater. Except, the building the client is in, is very old and made from materials that will block the 2.4GHz microwave signal once a user exits one room and enters another room. (Obviously the APs are in totally opposite ends of the building, and can hardly detect the presence of their sister access points.)
There is lots of cat-5 between the rooms and the client thought what they might do is run their data over the wire between the two APs using the 'LAN' ports on each AP for the backbone communication. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to make such a scenario work, I've looked high and low and cannot find anything on this (besides the implication in some documentation that what my client wants is impossible).
I did set the two APs up, as stand alone access points (one AP, call it the primary, connects to the Internet via the 'WAN' interface, there is a backbone link on a 'LAN' interface to the secondary AP which connects to the same wire on one of it's 'LAN' interfaces.) Of course as I noted before if a user walks from the room with the primary to the room with the secondary the user needs to establish a new connection although, by design, the SSIDs and passphrase are the same. This design is unacceptable to the client and they... well they are hopping angry that they cannot get what they think ought to be really easy.
What I'd like to know is:
    1. Is what the client is asking for possible with the hardware they have?
    2. Can I do it with additional equipment? I'm looking at the Cisco 2500 Series Wireless controller or possibly a Virtual Wireless Controller? (Given that the client is blaming me for the fact that it doesn't work -hey I was handed the device and told to make it work, I had no say in what hardware was bought-, whatever additional stuff I tell them they need to buy needs to a. work, and b. be cheap.)
    3. Any other thoughts, or comments?
    Thanks!

    Thanks Ganesh!!
So... basically it's just what I'm doing now but instead of using
ip nat inside source static udp 10.10.10.10 53 dialer 0 53
    I will need to use:
ip nat inside source static udp 10.10.10.10 53 123.123.123.123 53 extendable
ip nat inside source static udp 10.10.10.11 53 123.123.123.124 53 extendable
I have also in the mean time been told on the Bind mailing list that Bind will accept transmissions like this as I thought the the decapsulation and re-encapsulation of the router would cause a problem with the software!
So looks like all is good now :-)

    Kaya

  • Can't add my new license on my cisco 2500 wireless controller

    hello,
i already have 25 license installed on my Cisco 2500 wireless controller.
but when i need add my new bundle license, i can't see him on my admin panel.
i following this steps for installing my new license :
1- i go on WLC panel
    2- management => software activation => commands
    3- i select "install license"
    4- i setting a correct path
5- when i clic on "install license", i can see two following message : "File transfer operation started" and "Installation Process Completed ". but when i go on "licenses" i can't see
    tanks for help

    Hi Serge,
In case you have another license installed on the controller with higher license than the one that you are installing, then the license installation will fail.
In case you want to install a new license with higher number of AP count, then you can install it, then save and reboot the controller.
Also I noticed when you install a new license and the summation of the previously installed license and the newly installed license is exceeding the max allowed AP count on the controller, then the installation will fail.
In such scenario, deactivate the current license by making the evaluation license priority to high, then after that install the new license and then change the priority to medium and make the evaluation license to low in addition to the previous license.
    Kind Regards

  • Cisco 2500 dual band router. the hp printer is connects on one band, pc the other help

Cisco 2500 wireless router Dual Band N, HP PhotoSmart C309-g, Windows 7
PC cannot find the printer because it connects on a different band.  Cisco uses the same name for both bands.  How do I get both devices on the same network.

I also have a dual band router, Cisco's LinkSys EA3500 N750; and the 5.0gHz band is necessary to avoid interference with other equipment operating on 2.4gHz. I put TP-link 2.4/5.0 gHz adapters on each PC (one HP another Sony, both a few years old)  and the PCs now work fine, no loss of internet/network access.  Would that solution also work for the printer?  The printer does not recognize any network (even though the 2.4gHz shows as available and strong on the TP-link device.   I used the same name and security code for the new router as the old; again, neither PC had a problem finding it.

  • Cisco 1841 with PPP Internet link down

    Hi brothers, please help.
We have Cisco 1841 with ATM card connect to Internet . Some days one Dialer interface of  ISP is down and only restart router to get Dialer interface up again. I check debug PPP negotiation & see that no inbound packets from ISP.
I really need to fix this issue permanently, not need to restart router to recover Internet.
    Thanks!

    Hello ,
As line comes up after reloading the device this does not looks like configuration issue but hardware .
Either connection between ATM card and modem is getting idle or some issue with ATM card .
Did you try replacing ATM card with a spare one to see if issue persists .
    HTH

  • CISCO 1841 with SHDSL Problem?

    Hello,
I´am new in cisco WIC configuration. I have a CISCO 1841 with a interface: 1SHDSL v3 and i want to connect to my ISP over a PPoE encapsulation.
I just make the new interface connection in SDM, but the synchronism with the ISP not work. The ISP tell me that VPI/VCI is 0.35 and the annex is the A.
I live in the Europe, but i think that the annex A is for POTS lines and Annex B for ISDN, right?? My line is ADSL Analog.
    My startup-configuration is that:

    Problem :
    1. When I test call from CME Phone both SIP and SCCP Phone by dial 3500 or 3501, I get the busy tone.
    2. Debug voip dial-peer, match with dial-peer voice 3500 for (aa service) & 3501 for (aa-drop service).
    3. Debug voice application script, show nothing.
Is there something wrong with my configuration ?

    Novri

    Hi Novriadi,
    In your configuration
    service aa flash:/app-b-acd-aa-3.0.0.2.tcl
    service queue flash:/app-b-acd-3.0.0.2.tcl
    paramspace english location flash://
Remove "/" and "//" from the configuration
Then use the call application voice load command in privileged EXEC mode to reload the scripts.
Router# call application voice load aa
Router# call application voice load queue
Router# call application voice load aa-drop
You can refer to following document as well for more info

  • Cisco UCM with Third Party Contact Center Solution

Hi all, hope everyone is well.
Anyone out there running Cisco UCM with a third party contact center solution ? would love to hear your experience on this subject.
    Thanks in advance !!
    Danny

I have not heard of any sucessful stories, which vendor are you considering and what would you not go with UCCE/UCCX?
I used to work for Rockwell (Aspect today) which attempted to integrate their Business Contact Solution with CUCM (back on 3.3) and it worked OK for low volume calls, but never had any customer adoption.
I have not heard of any other known ACD vendors integrating with CUCM.

  • Using Cisco WCS with Microsoft IAS

    Hi.
I have two 5508 and WCS 7.0.172. I want to user Active Directory users credintals to login on ther WCS. Have a configurated NPS role on server with windows 2008 r2.
I have read this http://zmq503o1.wordpress.com/2008/01/06/using-cisco-wcs-with-microsoft-ias/ and done the same.
I dont't agree with "on the "Encryption" tab and clear all the checkboxes except "No encryption" - wants an encryption connection but this didn't work till in user's properites in AD permit "Reversible encryption". This is not what that I want.  Would I need to generate ssl-cert for the wcs as wroted this?http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/wcs/7.0MR1/configuration/guide/hard.html#wp1042471
    or doing smth else? thx

  • My itunes on a windows 7 pc with dsl connection will not connect with the itunes store

my itunes on a windows 7 pc with dsl connection will not connect with the itunes store.  Any suggestions about why not or how to get it to connect?

After reading the whole post, I still don't capture the exact error message or code from it when you failed to install Office 2013.
The only clue is that "bootstrap loader error" ...
It seems that you want to upgrade Office 2007 to new Office 2013, by default, we could complete the uninstall previous Office version and install the new Office in the installation wizard.
At this point, if you get the install source through CD or other media. I recommand that we copy/paste the installation to local drive. Then turn off all of anti-virus and firewall, begin to setup in
    Windows clean boot mode.
Please use a setup log to troubleshoot setup problems in Office if the installation problem still occurs.
