Cisco 2504 wireless controller forget username and password

hi,
i just want to ask how i can do password recovery with my wireless controller without erasing the configuration

When you first configure the controller and reboot, you will see an option to recover the password.  This is a one time option and if the controller has been up and rebooted a few times, then the only other way to change or add another user so you can login is with Prime Infrastructure and the use of snmp. You can download that and install that in ESXi 5.5 and get an eval license.  Or you can dig around and search for an smnp mib that will change it.  That piece I don't know about:)

  • [SOLVED] Wireless connect with username and password

    I just recently installed Arch on my computer but have used *buntu for a couple of years so I'm not completely lost in the Linux-world.
    Anyway, my college have a wireless setup that requires you to log in with your username and password. I used wicd in *buntu but the reason I installed Arch is because I want to know how to do stuff manually, and not only automagically.
    So, the problem I have is that I don't know how to connect to it using wpa_supplicant and netcfg. I've googled about it but haven't seen any good examples, or how-to's.
    I've a profile for my home network but I only have a WPA key here so that was easy with the wireless guide, so I know some basics about wpa_supplicant anyway.
    This is what "iwlist wlan0 scan" give me:

    This works for me here at UW:
    Manually in /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf:
    network={
    ssid="<network>"
    key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
    identity="<username>"
    password="<password>"
    Using netcfg (which I recommend strongly): do the above and set WPA_CONF to /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf (or whatever you want).
    Using netcfg from testing (which you'll have to upgrade to eventually):
    CONFIGSECTION='ssid="<network>"
    key_mgmt=WPA-EAP
    identity="<username>"
    password="<password>"'
    That did it
    I added an own profile in /etc/network.d that I just connect to now. Excited too see if it works back home as well, got some strange error yesterday when I use WEP.
    Thanks !

  • Firefox forgets usernames and passwords after shutting down the computer.

    I've reset all settings, cleared cache, cookies, etc. I also removed and reinstalled Firefox but it still forgets.

    Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
    If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

  • Is there away to authenticate the iPad to Wireless without a username and password? (i.e. Device Authentication)

    I am contracting for a college and they want to automatically configure 30 iPads for use on their enterprise wireless network.
    Current wireless settings are 802.1x using PEAP MSCHAPv2.  Users authenticate using their Active Directory accounts.  They do have a few PCs setup to do machine authentification using the machines AD account. Is there any equivalent for the iPad?
    They are willing to open a new SSID if they need to go to another authenication method in order to use certificate authenication.

    Is Radius involved?

  • WAP321 & Aironet 2602e & 2504 Wireless Controller?

    Hello,
    I am new to Cisco networking. I am currently in an environment with no Wireless Controller and the wifi uses two Cisco WAP321's.  The company wants to expand the wireless and has bought a Cisco 2504 Wireless Controller and a Cisco Aironet 2602e Controller-based WAP.  My question is once we start using the controller can it control the formerly controller-less WAP321's or will that have to be replaced with another Cisco Aironet 2602e?  Thank you.

    My question is once we start using the controller can it control the formerly controller-less WAP321's
    WLC 2504 will not support AP321s.  Talk to your authorized Cisco reseller and see if they will accept if you trade-in the AP321 for the AP 2602.
    Make sure your AP 2602 have the correct regulatory domain.  If you are un-sure DO NOT open the boxes.
    For more information, go here:

    Another thing, for AP 2600, your 2504 should have the minimum firmware of 7.2.110.X.  IF you don't have it, then talk to the authorized Cisco reseller who sold you the controller and kindly ask them (nicely) if they could download the correct firmware for you.

  • Problems with setting first username and password

    I haven't used a cisco router in over 12 years, so I'm a bit rusty.  I had to replace a nortel box for a small charter school here in Hawaii, so I decided to go with a cisco 1941 / K9 router. using a usb terminal connection I started up the router as directed in the PDF documentation for this box.  It warned me that I must change the starting username and password (<cisco> and <cisco> respectively) with my own username and password.  I wanted to change this to <cisco1> and a simple password.  I thought I followed the directions, but I failed to reset the user name and password.  As I was looking up online for help on how to set a new username and password, the terminal window timed-out and now I can't log in to the 1941 router at all.
    How do I reset the router?  Once I do how do I correctly setup  username and password after I login once with cisco and cisco?
     Any help would be appreciated.
    I'm attaching a screen capture of the terminal window...

    How do I reset the router?
    Power OFF the router.
    If you look at the back (where the power button is) and to the lower left-hand corner, you'll observe two CF slots.  Pop the cover open and eject the CF.
    Power up the router.
    Observe the console terminal and when you see "rommon1>" enter the command "confreg 2142".
    After the command has been accepted, insert the CF back and reboot the router.
    Your router should boot into factory default (Username & Password are "cisco") but the config-registry value is still 2102.
    Do the following:
    conf t
    config-registry 0x2102
    username BLAH password BLAH
    end

  • Cisco 4682DBV username and password?

    Hello dear friends, i would like to have access to my D3 CISCO 4682DBV unit's setup, but i don't know username and password when i try to connect to it via 192.168.100.1.
    I tried leaving fields blank, admin:admin, blank:admin, admin:blank, admin:w2402 and every other password i could find on google. Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Judging by the message, it looks like you already configured your router? In that case, enter in the password and name for the wireless network that you gave the router when your frst configured it.
    If you don't remember then you'll have to reset the router (hold the button for about 30seconds) and start from scratch. That will allow you to make up whatever settings you want. But remember to keep them in a safe place in case you ever need to refer to them again.
    I don't work for Cisco. I'm just here to help.

  • BEFW11S4 Wireless-B username and password rejection

    I have a BEFW11S4 Wireless-B router and yesterday my router stopped recognizing my username and password, but only after I log in. I am able to log into the main router configuration page after I type in 192.168.1.1 into my web browser and also able to configure the options under the administration and even the security tab. However when it comes to changing any of the options under the setup tab like "internet connection type" or the "optional settings", I am prompted to enter my username and password. I do this, as normal, but this time it does not accept it and continues to ask for it unitl I get a bright red "unauthorized" screen in internet explorer.  I also can not change anything in the "applications and gaming tab" either without it prompting for a password that is rejected, whether or not the password is right.
    I have updated the firmware to the latest available for this old router, I have reset the router countless times (using the reset button on the back of the router and using the "restore factory defaults" option on the configuration page), and I have unplugged the router countless times as well. I have also tried using Firefox or Opera thinking that it may have been a web browser problem. I have tried many "simple fixes" because I don't know much about routers, but I do know that my router was working fine a couple days ago and I didn't have this problem. I need to change the internet connection type and also forward a few ports but it isn't allowing me to do so . Can anyone please give me advice on what I should do to resolve this problem?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated..

    Hi… This is very common issue when you have upgraded the wrong file. So check the version of your router and download the correct firmware for the same. Reset the router for 1 min and try configuring the same. If not, might be flash memory on the router is corrupted. You need another router.

  • 2504 Wireless Controller and Server 2008 NPS

    I want to configure a simple NPS/RADIUS server for wireless authentication. I've read well over the EAP setup, and becaues it makes use of certificates it isn't going to work for non-domain computers. I'm looking for a way to copy what I have to VPNs, where when a user tries to login it ask for their username and password.
    Ergo, when a computer, ipad, iphone, android, or mac connects to the wireless I want them to be asked for their domain username and password. If possible I'd like to keep it so they do not need to specify domain\username but rather just their username.
    Is what I'm looking to do possible? I've configured it with EAP but again in this deployment I cannot make use of certificates or a domain CA. I am also not able to touch every machine that comes in to connect to the wireless. I am also looking to use LDAP/RADIUS in place of a PSK or WEP key so that user passwords can be changed per the domain policy every so often. We also have a wireless users group so not just anyone can connect. For every other non-company employee we already have a restricted SSID for guest with a PSK.
    Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

    Joe:
    Having NPS, you have the options to configure PEAP-MSCHAPv2 or EAP-TLS.
    EAP-TLS: mandates a certificate on the server as well as a certificate on every single machine for authentication purposes.
    PEAP-MSCHAPv2: mandates a certificate on the server only. Users connecting to the wireless network must trust the certificate (or, user devices can be configured to escape this trust and connect even if the server cert is not trusted).
    for PEAP-MSCHAPv2, Your options are:
    - Buy a certificate for the server from a trusted party (Verisign for example [which was bought later by Symantec]). This way all devices will - by default - trust the server's cert.
    - Install local CA. Install a cert on the server and then push the root CA cert for your CA to all client device so they trust this issuer.
    - If both up options are not valid for you, what you can do is to configure every single client to ignore the untrusted cert and proceed with the connectoin. (This is a security concern though. not recommended unless really needed).
    You must get a cert on the server and all clients must trust that certificate's issuer. Otherwise you'll not be able to user PEAP.

  • Cisco ACS 5.5 username and password

    Hi All
    I have defined username and password for one of the users to login to the routers.
    I have set the password.
    Can please advise how do I make him change the password after his first login with the given username and password.
    Thanks

    While creating a user under Users and Identity Stores > Internal Identity Store > Users > createe. Check this box to start the process to change the user’s password at the next user login, after authentication with the old password.
