  • How to configure a Cisco 3560 with MAC-based 802.1x authentication by radius server

    Hi dearI
How can I configure a Cisco 3560 to authenticate a client based on its mac address with 802.1x and radius server. Many tanks in advance!

    Olivier,
You can't reference WLP visitor roles in weblogic.xml, but you can
reference global roles (created using the WLS console):
    - <security-role-assignment>
    <role-name>PortalSystemAdministrator</role-name>
    <externally-defined />
    </security-role-assignment>

When using "form based" authentication is it possible to map the securityon a
    "entitlement role" ?
Our need is to be abled to give direct url acces to some pages of theportal (for
    exemple by sending urls like"http://server/appcontextpath/appmanager/myportal/mydesktop?_nfpb=true&_page
    Label=mypage")"
by email to portal users) and need a simple mecanism of authenticationbefore
    redirecting to the portal page.

  • Quick Question about Cisco 3560 and the Web Device Manager

Alright, I have a quick question that I am curious about but I haven't found any information
    about it.
When I log into my Cisco 3560 using the web portal to get to the Device Manager. Below the
diagram of the switch, then under the Dashboard there is section called Switch
    Health, Port Utilization.
Under the Switch Health there is Bandwidth Used, Packet Error. Those two options just sit
at zero and do not move. The Port tilization graph is also sitting at zero.
Is there a way to make them functional?

Anyone notice performance increase or decrease of their HD when using the nVidia IDE SW drivers?  particularly with a 74GB Raptor?  I've also heard of burner issues when installing the IDE SW but have not used my burner yet.

  • SG300-10p MAC based ACL

I try to limit the access of a printer to one computer and define a MAC based ACL and a corresponding ACE. I set the destination MAC address of the printer (mask 000000000000) and the source MAC address of the computer (mask also 00000000000) and the VLAM ID to 1. The other parameters seem not important? Then I add the ACL to the port where the printer is connected. Unfortunately the printer is not accessible now. What do I forget?

    Hi  Andrey
    thank you for your lines.
What I did blocks all computers, even this one I want to be allowed to print.
I agree, when I want other computers to be able to print, then I have to add other ACE to the ACL and allow these computers as well.
I had the idea that the masks are wrong and set them to FFFFFFFFFFFF. This however allows all computers to print...
    Any other ideas
    Thanks in advance
    Leo

  • When going from a Mac-based Ai to a PC based Ai, the documents "Font" are not found on the PC version?  (mostly Helvetica) where and how do I get those Fonts?  And/or, can I use the Mac version of these Fonts?

When going from a Mac-based Ai to a PC based Ai, the documents "Font" are not found on the PC version?  (mostly Helvetica) where and how do I get those Fonts?  And/or, can I use the Mac version of these Fonts?
    Thanks, Rich

In order to be cross platform you must be using the Open Type version of all fonts to cause the least disruption. Macs can read and process the Windows .ttf  type format but PCs can't process Mac formatted type. Most recent versions also cannot use the older PS Type 1 fonts.

  • 802.1x mac based authentication

We have Cisco ACS 3.3 is there a way to do authentication based on mac address, instead of username and password? We are looking to stop things such as user purchased access points and what not. Any info would be great.

Yes you are right, I misunderstood you. I was under the impression that you were talking about doing MAC based authentication on your AP's, not the switches. That is why I made mention to port security.
The 2 options would be standard port security or 802.1x port security if you switches support this.
In order to use the 802.1X port security, your switch would need to support it and the clients connecting to the switch would require a supplicant (EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, etc) in order for them to work, not by MAC address alone.
You can configure standard port security on the switch which will accomplish your intentions and not even need to use the ACS server.

  • SRW switches and MAC-based filtering

Hello, i looking for some guide how i can setup MAC-based filtering in ACL.
    Please have step-by-step guide?
    Thank you
    Tomas

802.1X authentication and MAC-based address filtering can be administered on SRW switches via their web based GUI.
There is very good documentation on each model...
    example:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9988/index.html
    then select acl....

  • I would like to know which app/software in MAC gives us the same feature that is provided by System Restore in Windows, and how does that work

I would like to know which app/software in MAC gives us the same feature that is provided by System Restore in Windows, and how does that work.

Time Machine is one such program, although it is a recursive backup program which offers limited archive capability, based on the capacity of the backup destination, and it requires you set it up before you start editing your files.   Some programs are also Versions aware, which offers a kind of restore capability by file.  Again needs to be setup before you start editing.
    Just a for-your-info:
Mac is not an acronym, it is a nickname for Macintosh.

  • I want to instal windows 7 using bootcamp on my mac book pro and how large do i have to make the partition if i want to use it for gaming?

"At least 16 GB of free space on the disk onto which you’re installing for 32-bit, or 20 GB for 64-bit (for Microsoft Windows and Windows-based applications)."
That's what Apple proposes in here Boot Camp: System requirements for Microsoft Windows
Personally I would double these amounts and add to that the diskspace needed for your Windows games.

  • Best way to port all Windows XP files, applicaitons and data form my PC over to iMac and how to run those Windows apps on Mac?ns on Mac?

I have a Windows XP machine with apps, files and data.  I want to get all that over to my Mac, and also run those apps under Windows XP or even Windows 7 on my Mac.  Im wondering:
    1.  How best to get those files over to my Mac
    2.  How to run those apps and use my Windows based files/data on my Mac
    3.  How best to run Windows on my Mac....either partitiion my Mac's hard drive and boot up either Windows or MAC OS, or run some other program where I can easily switch back and forth form Windows to MAC OS, or perhaps get it all on an external hard drive, maybe partition that Windows/MAC OS and boot from that?
    Thanks!

I agree you would benefit by using virtualizaiton software. Virtual Box is one alternative the commercial apps for doing virtualization are Parallels and VMWare Fusion which you also might be interested in for their support and updates.
Also you may benefit by book marking and using:
Mac 101 , Switch 101 & Find Out How Video tutorials
For your MS Office apps then I'd STRONGLY recommend using the native Office For Mac versions, you can find these on Amazon for less than $100 and then you can run the apps natively rather than having to lean on MS Windows. Also for your Financial and Tax software you also may want to use OS X apps too, for example I used Quicken for over 20 years (PC mostly and some Mac) but switched to iBank. Also for tax software I have used Quicken's Turbo Tax, this also runs natively on OS X.
In other words for your stated needs I don't see much reason to stay with MS Windows. You may have other considerations, if you do please state them, some may be real issues and some may be easily overcome.

Well, how have to determined no signal is being recieved to your mac?
Have you got something that shows the actual signal? Or have you just been trying to control a VST? What software are you using by the way?
I personnally went with a AKAI MPK25, because it's made already mapped for logic & ableton etc, so it just makes things incredibly easy.
I would suggest you return it if you can as a dead unit & perhaps look at something else a bit easier?
Otherwise, if you just want to get this working we can have a look a bit deeper.
    And driver? OS X driver?

  • I am considering buying a new MAC laptop to run LOGIC for composition and band live/recording, but which one is best as I do not want to spend too much money? Does it have a line in and how do you monitor sound? Will I need adaptors and a interface?

    Can anybody help?
I am considering buying a new MAC laptop to run LOGIC for composition and band live/recording, but which one is best as I do not want to spend too much money?
Does it have a line in and how do you monitor sound?
Will I need adaptors and an interface?
Also, I am guessing as Logic only runs on MAC surely then they would not the best spec to recommend to run it?
I see all the upgrades as additional memory or a faster process?
Is a retina screen necessary, and why flash based storage against a 1TB hard drive, and a i5 instead of an i7
The main reason for this purchase is to play live and use backing tracks and record found sounds and make creative songs.
I hope you can provide some valuable feedback, as I am a longtime MAC user and see upgrades and changes happen regularly but the most important thing is the songs not the equipment.
I have £500 already and willing to add another 500 to 700 pounds, then software extra.

  • Can my ipod download music from both a windows and mac based computer.

My son and I have new video ipods. He works on a Mac and I have a windows computer. He would like to load some music from my computer (windows) itune file onto his (Mac based) ipod. Can he do this? If so, how?

Not sure what you are saying. You can install and activate on 2 systems, but generally standalone installs have platform-specific serials and can only be installed eitehr on Windows or Mac, not both. However, your description seems to indicate a TLP volume license, so that would be possible.
