Cisco 3850 Mobility Agent unable to connect clients

Hi
We are trying to use Cisco 3850 as Mobility agents with 5760. We can't seem to get the clients to authenticate to the radius server. We don't even see them appear in the radius logs.
We have defined the radius server and the profile
wlan Wireless 2 WAP
aaa-override
accounting-list Radius
client vlan wireless
security dot1x authentication-list Radius
session-timeout 1800
no shutdown
radius server Primary
address ipv4 x.x.x.x auth-port 1812 acct-port 1813
timeout 5
retransmit 2
key 7 ........
radius server Primary
address ipv4 x.x.x.x port 1812 acct-port 1813
timeout 5
retransmit 2
key 7 .........
The client appears to connect to the AP but can't authenticate so gets kicked off
If we do a test aaa group username password then it says that it's sucessful.
In the debug we get 802.1X required but then it never seems to get any further.

Alright, so I finally figured out the issue with this. I had a Mobility Anchor set on the guest WLAN and once I removed that all started working again.
What is Mobility Anchor?
A. Mobility Anchor, also referred to as Guest tunneling or Auto Anchor Mobility, is a feature where all the client traffic that belongs to a WLAN (Specially Guest WLAN) is tunneled to a predefined WLC or set of controllers that are configured as Anchor for that specific WLAN. This feature helps to restrict clients to a specific subnet and have more control over the user traffic. Refer to the Configuring Auto-Anchor Mobility section of Cisco Wireless LAN Controller Configuration Guide, Release 7.0 for more information on this feature.

  • Unable to connect clients to WAP121

    I have an issue with a WAP121.
It's in an extremely congested area, and most client devices are unable to connect.
The log (see below extract) shows repeated entries for reason 3.
The AP is config'd with a fixed channel (6), and I've tried turning off 'n' support. It's running firmware version 1.0.4.4.
What is happening here, and how should I fix it? Currently its embarrassingly been replaced by a £15 TP-Link AP (don't ask..) which is functioning perfectly, so although it's a harsh environment it's clearly possible :)
    Thanks all.

My name Eric Moyers. I am an Engineer in the Small Business Support Center.
I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. Since I am not sure which settings you have tried, I am listing everything I do and check below. If it is something that you have tried please excuse me.
Here are a couple of things to try to resolve this issue:
    1) If you have more than one device and the devices are in Cluster Mode or Single Point Setup, I would ask that you disable that as a test.
    2) Go to Wireless-Bandwidth Utilization tab and disable Bandwidth Utilization.
    3) Go to Wireless-Radio tab, under Legacy Rate Sets supported and basic disable rates 1 and 2.
    4) Change fixed multicast from auto to 54.
    5) Disable the "Broadcast key refresh rate" duration from 300 seconds to 0 seconds.
    6) If you have not already completed a wireless scan of the network area, you can do that using the Wi-Fi Analytics tool found here: http://www.ampedwireless.com/wifianalytics/
It is a free download and I like it a lot.
If this does not improve your issue, please call our support center and open a case so that one of our engineers can work directly with you.
Also just as information the diagnostic download you did (diagnostic after reboot) is a real-time snapshot. It just shows what is going on at that moment in time.

  • Unable to connect client to vpn on rv082

    Hello all,
We currently have an RV082 and an RV180W at our remote site. Our VPN tunnel is up gateway to gateway but whenever I try to use quick connect I can't connect and get failed to establish connection message. I've created a user in client to gateway. I've also tried various WAN IP addresses from our ISP. Any help you have would be useful, thanks!

    Hi,
It looks like you did not create the client to gateway VPN in either the RV082 and the RV180W. In order to use the VPN user that you created in that router, you must create the client to gateway VPN inside that router. For example, you will have to configure PPTP VPN which is a client to gateway VPN and create a user in the RV180W. After that, you would set up the Windows default VPN set up. Please make sure that you use the WAN IP address of the RV180W that the client to gateway VPN was created in and use the VPN user that was created in that router as well. One last thing is that our Cisco Small Business routers do not support "Cisco Quick Connect."
I hope that made sense and please keep me posted or feel free to give us a call at 1-866-606-1866.

  • Cisco prime 2.1 not showing wired clients connected to Cisco 3850 switches

    Hello All,
I have around 80 Cisco 3850 switches at a customer network and they are using prime infrastructure 2.1.2 to manage these devices. Most of the features are working fine except that the prime does not show the wired clients connected to the switches. The wireless clients are shown properly but not the wired clients. Their core switches are nexus 7k. The SNMP configuration on the switches is as follows.
    snmp-server group xxxx  v3 priv write xxxx-VIEW-WR
    snmp-server view xxx-VIEW-WR mib-2 included
    snmp-server trap-source Vlan100
    snmp-server host x.x.x.x version 3 priv testuser
Please help me to resolve this issue.
    Shabeeb

I managed to get the end hosts connected in 3850 switches with the use of snmp context command. But now the issue is that prime is showing only the mac address of the device , not the IP address.
Is there anyway to resolve this issue?

  • Cisco Security Agent unable to close tcp/135 port on Windows hosts

    Hello
I've encountered with problem that Cisco Security Agent unable to close port TCP/135 on windows PC (XP or Win7).
I've configured rule module Network Access Control to prevent all client/server connections to port tcp/135.
I've checked my policy using nmap, so this port (TCP/135) during 20 minutes shows as filtered and i can see log in monitor event on CSA MC, during next 20 minutes it show as opened and no log shows. (time not exact, so it maybe 30 minutes or 5,it varies)
Can anyone explain how TCP/135 works and is it possible to close it using CSA?
    Thanks in advance

There is another question for the same issue on the forums (see: CSA 6.0.2.145 problem with windows 7 firewall). I wrote:-
"I went ahead and tested this in the lab with winXP and CSA 602-149 (latest). I defined a rule with DENY tcp/135 and ran the nmap and it reports opened (wireshark shows syn-ack to the syn). I changed it to a PRIORITY DENY and now the nmap reports closed (wireshark shows reset to the syn). Via the cli, netstat -an shows the pc listening on tcp/135 & disabling CSA the syn gets the syn-ack response. To me this implies a couple of defect. 1: The DENY should block syn to tcp135 & 2: CSA should not send reset (it should be reset). Is it possible to open a TAC case and put my name (mwinnett) in it and I will open a defect."

    Hi Kanchan,
So on each computer, you create a local user account that is a member of the Administrators group, and use the same account and password on each machine(controller and Agent), am I right?
Could you enable the detailed log message?

  • MAC OS X unable to download Cisco ISE supplicant agent

    Hi,
I have a problem with MAC OS X clients unable to download the Cisco ISE supplicant agent using Safari browser but able to login on the ISE guest portal. If the same client was to login to the ISE guest portal using Firefox; it has no issues downloading the ise supplicant and posture agent.
I have tried to update the Java version on the client to the latest; however it does not resolve the issue. As I am new to MAC OS clients; I was wondering what may be the cause of the issue?
I have summarized the issue as follows:
    1. MAC OS X 10.8 with safari 6 -- unable to download agent but can login successfully on the Cisco ISE guest portal
    2. MAC OS X 10.8 with Firefox -- able to login to Cisco ISE guest portal and download agents; no issues
    3. MAC OS X 10.7 with safari and firefox ---  unable to download agent but can login successfully on the Cisco ISE guest portal
    4. Windows XP & Windows 7 & Iphone/Ipad/Android -- able to login/download agent without any issues
    Any suggestions is appreciated.
    Thanks.

For Agent Download Issues on Client Machine
    • Ensure that a client provisioning policy exists in Cisco ISE. If yes, verify the
policy identity group, conditions, and type of agent(s) defined in the policy.
(Also ensure whether or not there is any agent profile configured under Policy >
Policy Elements > Results > Client Provisioning > Resources > Add > ISE
Posture Agent Profile, even a profile with all default values.)
    • Try reauthenticating the client machine by bouncing the port on the access
    switch.
Remember that the client provisioning agent installer download requires the following:
    • The user must allow the ActiveX installer in the browser session the first time an agent is installed
on the client machine. (The client provisioning download page prompts for this.)
    • The client machine must have Internet access.

  • UCCX 7 SR5 agent login gives timeout - unable to connect to UCCX server

Team - running high availability. The CAD login for UCCX 7 SR5 gives occasionally timeout errors.
Unable to connect to UCCX server. What is the root cause of this?
on CAD client PC based on Cisco recommendation
    C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\config, we changed PhoneDev.cfg.
    added ->
    [ReqTimeout]
    Milliseconds=30000
While this helped it still happens. Is this a bug you have seen?
What could be done for the root cause.

    Hello,
This happens because the CAD client software is timing out due to not receiving a response from the UCCX server in the configured and default
10 seconds. Increasing the timeout alleviates the symptom, but the root cause could be slowness or connectivity problems between CUCM and AD. The default timeout between them is 30 seconds. You can check if you have an DC/GC down or not responsive or point your CUCM to authenticate to a local DC/GC, but definitely need to check on the CUCM / AD side.
CSCta49259    CAD client timeout value not present in PhoneDev.cfg
    Symptom:
Per MIVR logs CAD side is timing out and changes to the server-side properties did not resolve the issue.
    Conditions:
    UCCX 7.0(1) CAD
    Workaround:
    on CAD client PC
    C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop\config, there should be a file
    called PhoneDev.cfg.
    add ->
    [ReqTimeout]
    Milliseconds=30000
save then restart the CAD client .

If these are new Agents, do they have more than one netowrk interface? If so, they may have security information for the "other" network (the one the SunMC Server's not on). You can try manully specifying the correct network for one Agent and see if it helps:

  • VPN client unable to connect

I am unable to connect to our corporate internet with the client. It tries the primary and the backup addresses and then reports that the client timed out. Our IT is unable and/or unwilling to help troubleshoot. What can I do to find the problem? I am operating inside a local network over a wireless connection.

I too am having trouble maintaining my VPN Client connection.
We have a 515E PIX and Cisco VPN Client 4.8
Users will seemingly randomly loose access to our Network without any obvious reason.
Like today. I'm at home happily working over VPN for 6-hours, then I try to connect another computer up to work over VPN. My signal gets dropped and when I try to re-connect I get the request for Password but then it never connects. I have a few User IDs that I can use and none work.
I did as suggested in the previous post and have attached the Detailed log of one attempt to connect.

Ok, I was able to succesfully connect to the database from the client. I made the following changes to the sqlnet.ora, tnsnames and listener. Here are the changes I made:

    Here is the new problem!
I start the dbconsole using the folowing command:

When I try and access it from the client I get the following error message:
"The database status is currently unavailable. It is possible that the database is in mount or nomount state. Click 'Startup' to obtain the current status and open the database. If the database cannot be opened, click 'Perform Recovery' to perform an appropriate recovery operation."
What am I doing wrong this time?
Your help would be greatly appreciated

  • Remote Desktop Connection Client 9.3.9600 unable to connect to Server 2012 RDS via Gateway

    Hi,
I have a Windows Sever 2012 R2 RDS environment with two Gateways servers configured in high availability mode (RD Web Access, RD Gateway, RD Connection Broker roles installed) and four Windows Server 2012 R2 RDS Session Hosts. The servers are all running
the most recent public server updates. With this configuration I when connecting externally using a Windows 7 computer with the older Remote Desktop Connection client (6.1.7601) I am able to connect without any problems however when I try connecting with a
newer client from a computer running Windows 8.1 and the 9.3.9600 client I am unable to connect.
At the moment a NAT rule is configured to pass 80/443 traffic to only one of the RDS gateway servers, I've removed our load balancer from the configuration for the moment to reduce the complexity.
No error is generated by the client when it tries to connect it just stops trying to connect after a while.
On the Gateways servers event logs for
Things I have looked into so far.
    - I've double and triple checked the RDS configuration and checked it against one of my other clients configurations that is working and they are identical.
    - Connecting from an older client version works fine.
I'm not sure what else can be checked does anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,
    1. What entries are you seeing in the RD Gateway's log?  Event Viewer\ Applications and Services Logs\ Microsoft\ Windows\ TerminalServices-Gateway
    2. How come you are not forwarding UDP port 3391 in addition to TCP port 443?  It should work without UDP, but you will not have UDP support which is one of the benefits of RDP 8.0/8.1.
    3. Are there any non-default group policy settings being applied to the servers and/or client PCs?  To be clear, I'm asking if any changes have been made to the default local and domain security policies, group policy objects, new GPOs that may have
been added, etc., that are applicable to the servers and or client PCs.
