Cisco 3925 looking for Gig ethernet card recommendation

I am looking to add 2 Gig ethernet ports into one of the card slots of the cisco 3900 router. I was given the following two part numbers and these look like serial ports NM-1T3/E3 or Vwic3-2MFT T1/E1. Comments please

Exactly what are you trying to do?  What are these "2 Gig ethernet ports" going to be connected to?

  • Looking for a smart card reader compatible with Mac OS X 10.5

    Hi there,
I am looking for a smart card (card with microCPU) reader which is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5 .
In substance, what I need is a little space to store all my passwords in, due to the fact that I might forget one: I have many to remember!
I have an USB key, but I use it in many computers, even in ones whose security cannot be 100% trusted.. and I want no doubt when talking about safety.
Here's an image of what I want in poor words:
    http://www.ordnas.it/prodotti/lett_mem/imgpr1592-01-3.jpg
The main issue is that most SC readers are /not/ Mac compatible.
So what brand should I opt for ? What costs should I expect ?
    Thank to everyone who'll help.

    Thank you for your answer.
This might be a solution, I'll take it seriously.
Can this other be a solution too ?

On the manufacturer's page, it's stated that it's compatible with Mac OS X.

  • Looking for internal memory card ready

Looking for internal memory card ready for dual 450mhz g4 (gigabit)
Want to put it in the 3.5" slot the ZIP® drive was in.
Anybody know of any good/compatable ones?
    thanks

I have never seen an internal media card reader designed to fit in a Mac. Most are designed for the PC to fit in a 5.25" optical drive bay. If you could somehow modify one of those units to fit in your machine, you would still need a USB card with an internal connection to service the card reader.

  • Looking for an Ethernet selector switch

I am looking for an Ethernet selector switch.
Not an Ethernet hub or classic Ethernet switch.
    Here is the scenario:
I have to concurrently test several devices though a Telnet interface, that all have the same hardcoded IP address.
So I can not just plug them all into an Ethernet hub.
Using more than one network interface will not work because the destination IP is the same so I can not setup static routing...
Looking for ideas and suggestions, and of course it has to lend it's self to being controled through LabVIEW.

Not the cheapest solution but a managed switch would allow you to accomplish this. You would control the switch programmatically and turn ports on or off as desired. It would require you to do some programming to interface with the switch. Some support SNMP and other would have to simulate a command line interface.

  • I have an Apple Retina Pro Notebook and am looking for the most highly recommended compatible wireless printer.  Do you have any recommendations?

I have an Apple Retina Pro Notebook and am looking for the best compatible wireless printer to use with it.  Do you have any recommendations?

"WiFi Wireless Printer" seems to give Users the feeling that they somehow print directly from their computer to the Printer. That is NOT how it works.
To make a WiFi Wireless Printer work, you need to make it a participant on your network, by providing the Network_name and the Password. It then becomes a peer of your MacBook on your home Network, and you can create a Print Queue for it in Add-a-Printer.
There is no particular advantage to this over, say, an Ethernet Printer -- except that you don't have a Physical cable to string.

  • Looking for a sound card

I managed to break my minijack audio-in and can't record anymore. I get static/humming from my speakers right now and I'm considering buying a new sound card (with some 1/4" audio-ins and midi and Mic input hopefully).
I have a G4 with Mirrored Drive Doors, purchased in 2004.
Does anyone know what types of sound cards will work with my machine/ what specifacations I need to look for?
I've never purchased anything like this and don't really know where to start researching.

I'd second WWJD's recommendation. A digital coaxial cable goes to my Onkyo receiver from my Quicksilver - iTunes never sounded so good...!

  • Raid Card, what to look for in a card?

    Hi guys,
Im looking for help on what to look for in a Raid card. Im new to Raid, but i have read the tweakers pages and it seems like the way forward.
Im a full time editor working with AVC-Intra footage doing fast cuts. Im about to ditch my 2008 mac pro and build a up to date PC around the i7 4930k. Im planning on running 8x3-4tb drives for footage; raid 5, 3x3tb raid 3 for exports, maybe 2x256 ssd raid 0 for boot, 2x3tb drive for page file and media cache, and maybe 3x3tb for stock footage raid 0.
Im totally lost in what to look for in a Raid card?
    Cheers Ryan

For 13 drives is there a cheaper option?
Yes, Areca 1882ix-16, 1264IL-16, Intel RS2WG160, LSI 9260-16i - or for that matter, any RAID controller with 13+ internal connections. There are much cheaper controllers from Highpoint and others, as well.
If your next question is, is it worth it going cheaper? ...Usually not for me personally - at least certainly not with Highpoint or other entry level controllers with subpar support and all kinds of performance and reliability problems. Even Tier 1 controllers aren't exempt from them.
That said, I am curious about Intel and LSI controllers I listed above. The LSI one especially so given the availability of SSD caching and other neat features.
    Hope this helps.

  • Looking for PCI SCSI card for G5

I've just learned my old SCSI PCI card (5 volt) from my G4 won't work in the G5 (3.3 volt PCI slot).
I'm looking for a 50-pin SCSI PCI card, 3.3v, that will work in a G5 & with OSX ... any suggestions? Thanks.

I'm interested to know if this is the plain old Adaptec 29160N or the Adaptec PowerDomain 29160N. I made a similar upgrade 4 years ago and I had an identical problem. I never got my old scanner to work. The ratoc SCSI--Firewire bridge didn't support multiprocessors, and the Adaptec PowerDomain card was prohibitively expensive. Due to the lack of updated drivers for the scanner, VueScan was necessary in either case, if remember properly.

  • Looking for an iOS app recommendation

I want to take photos of my airline cards, library cards, insurance cards, etc and store the images in an app.  I am looking for an iOS app to do this.  I have four requirements:
    1. Can take a picture of cards from within the app, or import into the app from Camera Roll.
    2. Can classify the images into categories via tags, folders or similar method.
    3. Can password protect the app so that images cannot be viewed / accessed without the password
    4. Can sync images via iCloud to my other iOS devices (I really don't want a 3rd party syncing option - I have too many of those already).
I've found a number of apps on the App Store that perform items 1-3 above, but haven't seen one that can do all four.  I welcome any suggestions for a photo app, crafts app, business card app, etc, that meets my requirements.  Suggestions welcome.  Thx

  • Looking for a Photo App recommendation.

I am looking for a site forum or where I can ask to see if this type of Photo Editing App exists?
I need one that can paste one photo on top of another, or similar?
More or less, a pic in a pic type.
I have tried some collage apps yet they only place them side by side of course, any ideas or somewhere I can inquire?

  • Looking for proper SIM card for applet development

    Hi,
I would like to develop some applet on the SIM card. And does anyone know where I can get the proper SIM card?
I have a bit search for test SIM card and blank SIM card, but I am not sure which one can be used for applet development. It seems that Gemalto provides some development suit that includes some sample cards. But the suit is too expensive and maybe I don't need the tools they provide. I don't want to buy the wrong one, so it would be very helpful if any of you has some provider information or links!!
    Thanks in advance!!

maybe I don't need the tools they provide. You do as you will need a tool to install your applet on the SIM card
I don't want to buy the wrong one, so it would be very helpful if any of you has some provider information or links!!Are you just want to write applications or wanna be able to install them too on real cards ? If the purpose is just writing of apps then oracle and ETSI have provided everything, you don't need to buy any additional tool. But yes for dubuging you will need some third party tool or write your own one : -)

  • Looking for Hyperion Hosting Thoughts/Recommendations

    Hello,
I am hoping to get some opinions/thoughts about some of the companies providing Hyperion Application Hosting services. We are looking to move our Hyperion environment to a hosted service where someone could monitor the hardware, provide some services for Hyperion specific tuning related to the infrastructure and apply patches and upgrades. I know there is a service provided by Oracle and Secure 24 but any other suggestions? Has anyone worked with a hosting company and have feedback or suggestions.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Tiffany

I have work with Secure 24 -- they are as good as any choice in the hosting world.
Realize you usually are getting hardware and infrastructure assistance not a turn-key service who has deep functional application knowledge. They can all patch, monitor, and backup the environment.
Expecting them to be deep application experts is usually wishful thinking. If that is your expectation you should look for a hosting provider and a managed services provider which may be two separate companies.
Additionally I would avoid any hosting providers that do not have dedicated infrastructure/disaster recovery. e.g. If the hosting provider is relying on a Cloud platform e.g. Amazon EC2/Rackspace then I would look at another provider. Both Oracle and Secure-24 have their own dedicated hardware and DR sites.
