Cisco 4402 LAP1131 Interference Profile Failed for Base Radio MAC:

Dropped connections every day, few times a day.
WLC Was working perfectly fine for about a year then had some dropped connections.
Upgraded to the latest firmaware and also default it to the factory and reconfigured it.
Same problem!
Cisco 4402
Software Version 7.0.98.0
8x Cisco: AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9 also v/7.0.98.0
Interference Profile Failed for Base Radio MAC:

This is a threshold parameter: "Interference Profile failed" along with some others.  All this does is send alerts to the WLC log, to your syslog or to your WCS/NCS or Prime Infrastructure management tool.  You need to adjust these for your environment if you see too many alerts being triggered.  Interference can be a main issue in downtown big citites and you would bump the value up to reduce the number of alerts you see.  Yes interference will cause issues, but this is an alert threshold and will not fix your interference, just tell you that you have interference due to hitting the X value.
Thanks,
Scott

  • RME 4.3.1 device update failing 'WARNING : Cat3560(7.3):Consistency check failed for base package SharedNetshowIOS'

    Hi Guys,
I'm having some issues updating the device packages for my RME 4.3.1 install.
I've downloaded and tried to update the 'Cat3560.zip' package via the GUI, but the job fails with the above error.
I pulled up the PSU.log and found the following:

Before i started to bug TAC, I figured I'd post this here.
    Let me know your thoughts

Looks like your package repository has been corrupted.  TAC can provide a procedure  to recover from this corruption.  The following DOC indicates  why this can happen and has suggestions on how to avoid these problems  from re-occuring.

  • LMS3.1 psu problem - Consistency check failed for base package ...AG

    Hello,
We've got a package updater problem with a LMS3.1 installation.
    1. After trying to update RME Device packages from GUI we got a message that LibCommon-v2.3.2 is needed
    2. We tried to update LibCommon from CLI using psucli.bat, see below
    3. We found a discussion in this forum, simular to this problem with the hint to reinstall the RME, what we did but with no improvement
    4. We deinstalled, reboot, did a new installation of LMS3.1. But the problem still exists, with same message. We need the PSU, because most of our devices will be managed after device package update only.
Updating of each package brings warnings with pseudo package names, as ImageAG, MemoryAG and not with hints to real missing packages:
    C:\lms\bin>psucli -p rme -install -src C:\install\lm31-updates\ LibCommon
WARNING: LibCommon(2.3.2):Consistency check failed for base package ImageAG
see also the psu.log containing all tryes of package updates
The problem goes a little bit in this direction, but with a new reinstallation as well:
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/669047#669047
    What can we do?
    thx for hints, Steffen

When you install LMS on Windows, there are some recommended steps to take to ensure the installation is a problem free as possible:
Set the per-user and global TEMP and TMP environment variables to short values (e.g. C:\WINDOWS\TEMP)
    Disable all anti-virus software
Disable Windows Data Execution Protection (DEP)
Login to the server as a local Adminitrator
Install from original, locally attached media
NEVER abort the installation after the installer says not to
Based on the symptoms described here, I'm guessing at least the first item was not done.  TAC has a procedure to recover a bad RME package repository, but if the base installation is problematic, doing so would be moot.  If you suspect the installation isn't 100% (beyond the package repository), uninstall, then follow the above steps to reinstall.
If you think the problem is just with the RME package repository, contact TAC, and they can provide you a good, up-to-date repository to jump start things for you.

  • LMS3.1 psu problem - Consistency check failed for base package

    Hi all,
I tried to install the following packges for CiscoView 6.1.9:
    Rtr2900.cv50.v2-0.zip
    Rtr3900.cv50.v2-0.zip
but it gives me the following error:
Consistency check failed for base package NGMARShare
There are no Packages to be installed.
I uninstalled all packages and installed them again after I copied these two packages in the packages sources folder but it failed again.
    Any one can help?
    Thanks

the new package you try to install depends on a package that you don't have
    DEPENDENT PACKAGE
    =================
    DtShare V1.5 (DtShare.cv50.v1-5.zip)
this can be seen from the error message you got
"Consistency check failed for base package DtShare"
my advice is to read the "Release Information" for the packages you try to install
you can find the Release Information in the same page of the download.
    hope this helps,
also it's better to update all the device packages if your server have internet connectivity from CS > Software Center > device update.

  • Profiler plugin for Eclipse on Mac OS X?

    Hi all,
I'm trying to find a good open-source Java profiler, preferably a plug-in for Eclipse. The Eclipse Profiler (aka Eclipse Colorer?) seems pretty good, and suggests that it can run on Linux-like systems, but I can't figure out how to install it.
Does anyone have any ideas on
    1) Installing the Eclipse Profiler on Mac OS X (10.4), or
    2) Another good profiler for Eclipse, or
    3) Another good java profiler that will run on Mac Os X?
    Any suggestions much appreciated!
    Thanks,

You have to be careful with text editors these days. The default text fields in Mavericks will automatically convert plain quotes to smart quotes in many programs. Then, if you copy and paste that data elsewhere, you will take the smart quotes along with you. The inverse is also true. If you copy plain quotes, they could be "fixed" to smart quotes without you noticing.

  • 60005,RF: Interference Profile Failed in radio 2.4GHz, per controller profile settings

Can someone please explain to me what seeing this on WLC Config Analyzer means?
    Thanks...

You are seeing this message (also in the log of the WLC) because the level of interference for the 2.4Ghz radio of the particular access-point is higher than the configured (or recommended) threshold.
You can find this information on the WLC on Monitor -> Access Points -> Radios -> 802.11b/g/n. You can tune those threshold on Wireless -> 802.11b/g/n -> RRM -> General.
The question for now is how high are those values and do you have problems because of this and the answer to that question is; it depends. If you think the values are too high or if you experiencing issues I would go to the location with a spectrum analyzer and see if I find the cause of the interference.

  • WLC 4402 & 1131AG - "grouping" ap's for different radio standards?

    Hi!
I've just bought a WLC 4402 Wireless controller and 20 APs running WLAPP.
I'm not sure how to define my question, so I'm serving you the whole story.
I work as an IT-apprentice on a school, and this school is located more or less nearby other institutions and private buildings, all running their private WLANs.
My plan is to deploy 1131AG ap's over a larger area. In some places, it's allready crowded with private ap's running on 802.11b/g. In those areas, my plan is to use only 802.11a for my ap's.
But some places, it would also be usefull having both, or only 802.11g (and maybe 802.11b).
I've just used the 4402 and ap's for about a week, so I'm no expert yet.
I can create different WLANS, and limit those wlans to different radio standards, but then I'll have to use different SSID's.
Now, i'm running two Wlans, sending out each their Vlan over two different SSID's. This works perfectly.
So my problem now is: how to make for instance a separate group of AP's (i.e. in a specific building) to run only on 802.11a without having to use a third SSID.
Is this possible, and if so, how?
Please awnser quickly, because I need this to work within monday :P
(I'm sorry for my bad english).
    -John-

    Hi John,
For the specified AP's why don't you set only the appropriate Data rates for the A Radio to enabled, and disabled for all the b/g Data rates?
    Have a look;
    Configuring Radio Data Rates
You use the data rate settings to choose the data rates the wireless device uses for data transmission. The rates are expressed in megabits per second. The wireless device always attempts to transmit at the highest data rate set to Basic, also called Require on the browser-based interface. If there are obstacles or interference, the wireless device steps down to the highest rate that allows data transmission. You can set each data rate to one of three states:
Basic Allows transmission at this rate for all packets, both unicast and multicast. At least one of the wireless device's data rates must be set to Basic.
Enabled The wireless device transmits only unicast packets at this rate; multicast packets are sent at one of the data rates set to Basic.
Disabled The wireless device does not transmit data at this rate.
Note At least one data rate must be set to basic.
You can use the Data Rate settings to set an access point to serve client devices operating at specific data rates. For example, to set the 2.4-GHz radio for 11 megabits per second (Mbps) service only, set the 11-Mbps rate to Basic and set the other data rates to Disabled. To set the wireless device to serve only client devices operating at 1 and 2 Mbps, set 1 and 2 to Basic and set the rest of the data rates to Disabled. To set the 2.4-GHz, 802.11g radio to serve only 802.11g client devices, set any Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) data rate (6, 9, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, 54) to Basic. To set the 5-GHz radio for 54 Mbps service only, set the 54-Mbps rate to Basic and set the other data rates to Disabled.
    Hope this helps!
    Rob

  • Base Radio Mac and SSID MAC addresses

I am looking for a way to obtain the SSID mac addresses from a report or other method. We have clients attaching to an SSID that show a MAC address that I am positive is the MAC of the SSID (based off the physical MAC of the Radio) but I cannot find it either in reports in WCS or on the controller.
    Thanks!

try the following command via the CLI
    show dot11 bssid

  • Trustwave PCI scan failed for scan interference on Sonicwall NSA E5500 firewall

We've started having Trustwave do monthly PCI network vulnerability scans. The last couple months we've passed, but this month it failed for "Scan Interference Detected." This is their recommendation:During the course of the scan, TrustKeeper detected a change in its ability to communicate with some services on the remote host. In some cases, this may be caused by network security devices actively blocking the vulnerability scan, which it may perceive as a threat. In other cases, an intermediate network device, or the host itself, may be unable to cope with the vulnerability scan. It's often very difficult to tell the difference between these two scenarios, but in either case, this behavior significantly impacts the ability of this vulnerability scanning service to detect vulnerabilities on the remote host, resulting in an inconclusive...

You're correct that the RV042 router's implementation of SSL is weak.
Stepping back, why do you need an SSL key on your router? Assuming there's a good reason that can't be met via other techniques, can you implement a compensating control (such as an ACL) to mitigate the risk and thus meet that compliance requirements?
If not, then you would need to move the function to a more secure device - the new ASA 5506 might be one such candidate. Your local Cisco partner should be able to help you with product selection based on a more in-depth analysis of your environment and requirements

  • Get-splogevent Correlation ID, login failed for "Edit My Profile" in My Profile Error An unexpected error has occurred

    Hello Community
Edit My Profile in My Site displayed an error that "An unexpected error occurred" with a
Correlation ID. I have tried to read the logs in the 14 hive Logs folder but unsuccessfully.
I was able to  understand Event Viewer logs, there was supposed to be 4 possibilities
one was wheter UPS was running, the other was clearing the cache and the other 2 I also fixed
I even recreated the Search Service Application, Metadata and UPS but when I fixed the problems
    the error still occurred.
Then I used a Powershell command that displayed output but the Output doesn't make sense
because it is saying the login failed associated with the database that was created by the Search
Service application when it was created.
But  how can that username be related to the Search Service database?  Below is the output:

  • Profiles for Basis Admins

Does anyone have a list of transactions that would be considered adequate for a basis administrator on a production system, which would allow them to do all the work they may need to without logging in with a sap_all id?
What is the best practice for access for basis in production?

  • Software Version Upgrade for Cisco 4402 Wireless Lan Controller

    Hi,
We have Cisco 4402 Wireless Lan Controller with Software Version 3.2.171.6 and we want to upgrade it to latest version.
So can anyone please let me know the latest version to upgrade the WLC?
Also since WLC is running on very lower version is it possible to upgrade to the latest version directly or we have to move it step by step to upgrade this to latest version?
    Thanks

Take a look at the compatibility matrix below:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/5500/tech_notes/Wireless_Software_Compatibility_Matrix.html
7.0.235 is the latest that you can go to:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn7_0_235_0.html
The release notes outline the upgrade process.
"Upgrade to 4.0.206.0 or later 4.0 release, then upgrade to 4.2.176.0, before upgrading to 7.0.235.0."
