Cisco 5502 Configuration Example

I'm currently running a Cisco 5508 WLC.   I currenlty want to use two Gigabit ports for Wireless traffic and I will only have 25 1142 Attached to this WLC.   Reading the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller Configuration Guide, Release 6.0 it says :
5500 Series Controller Example
For a 5500 series controller, Cisco recommends having eight dynamic AP-manager interfaces and associating them to the controller's eight Gigabit ports. If you are using the management interface, which acts like an AP-manager interface by default, you need to create only 7 more dynamic AP-manager interfaces and associate them to the remaining seven Gigabit ports.
I was hoping to use LAG for these two ports and create a Port Channel on the switch for these ports.   From Cisco's recommendation it sounds like I have to turn off LAG and create a dynamic interface for the second port and put that Port in a different VLAN.  Can anyone please shed some light on this. Everything is working at the moment but I'm just curious why this recomendation.   Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Lag works just fine.  can you send me the link to the document you are looking at?

  • Can I find NX7K VDC design/configuration examples?

We have a couple of NX7K that we plan to have 2 VDC on each. So the 7K can function as a virtual core switch and virtual distribution switch. I have read about some VDC concepts but have not been able to find a detailed VDC design and configurations example document from Cisco sites. If any one has seen one, can you share that with me?
A few subjects I like to find good examples:
    Connection in between ports in different VDC;
    Management connectivity to each VDC;
    Routing config between VDC.
    Thanks

    Hello
The best source that would cover all the relevant VPC details would be the design guide available here:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps9670/products_implementation_design_guides_list.html
The first 4 chapters are lots to read but it very good

    Hi Zoran
While using BPM as well you will need to have communication channels.
    BPM - > BAPI request.
    BAPI response -> BPM
both sender and receiver channels are required for you.
1.Demand for a material is send via HTTP to XI
2.XI does a material availability check to the SAP system
3.A material reservation has to be done if there are any materials available in the stock (inventory) to the SAP system
4.If there is no material available a purchase order to a supplier (no SAP) has to be done via FTP
5.Parallel to the purchase order a purchase order confirmation is send to the the SAP system.
6.The supplier sends a purchase order confirmation to XI
7.The XI sends a purchase order confirmation to the SAP system
If i understood your requirement correctly and you want to use BPM. You need to do following in BPM
Receivestep1(receive HTTP post) -> transform1(mapping to BAPI request) ->send step1(Send BAPI request to SAP) -> Receivestep2 (Receive BAPI response from SAP) -> Transform2 (Map BAPI response to File)-> send2(File post to non SAP supplier)-> Receive3(receive purchase order confirmation)-> transform3(map to SAP purchase order confirmation)-> send3(Purchase order confirmation to sap)
    You need no of channels
    1.Receive 1 - (HTTP)
    2.Send1/Receive2 - (RFC)
    3.Send2 - (FTP)
    4. Receive3( HTTP or FTP)
    5. For purchase order confirmation.
    Thanks
    Gaurav

  • DMVPN DUAL HUB SINGLE CLOUD CONFIGURATION EXAMPLE

    Hi,
I am looking for a simple configuration for a dmvpn network running eigrp with two hubs on a single cloud.
Do i just create two nhs entries, nhrp map entries, and two multicast entries on the spoke router tunnel interfaces?  And on the hub routers add a delay on the tunnel interfaces for the one i prefer to be the secondary?
I am looking for confirmation and any other tweaks i need to make. i cant seem to find any examples.
    Thanks in advance!!

Thanks Paul, I have looked over this design guide as this was the fist place i went.  however, i cannot find a configuration example for dual hub/single cloud.
i see the high level design and know you can do it.   but it doesnt show what the configuration would look like...unless i am just reading over it.
    Thanks

  • Configuration examples for AIP SSM10

    Dear Support,
Seems like I'm trying to learn another language reading the IPS command line interface guide! (I’m a traditional routing/switching person)
Does anyone know if there are any useful configuration examples for the AIP-SSM10 ?
I don't believe what I'm doing is rocket science, I just need to monitor two front end web servers and a back end SQL box for weird activity.
I have two asa5520's configured in a failover pair each contains an AIP-SSM10.
I have uploaded the latest signatures to the AIP, but just need to configure them. I haven't turned on the policy to route the traffic to the AIPs from the ASA yet as want to tune the configs on the AIPs first.
Any links / advice would be gratefully received.
I can post the current configs if that helps?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
    Regards, Adrian.

Tuning the IPS signatures is going to be customized for every network, depending on what exactly you're looking for. The signatures are grouped into various categories and you can selectively enable/disable these categories, or just accept the default signatures. There's not a lot of configuration that needs to be done on the signatures. You just need to make sure to tune out your false positives by watching your events as they come in and seeing what events are actual attacks and which could be deemed permissible.
So to answer your question, there isn't really a config example for the IPS component. The quickest way to get up and running is to connect to the network port on the front of the module and load the SDM (HTTPS interface) of the IPS and review your signature settings there.

  • Cisco 3650 Converged LAN/WLAN Design: Radius Authentication configuration example needed

    Hello Cisco-Experts,
one of our customers would like to deploy Cisco3650-switches with integrated WLC-functionality.
The platform is new to me and I have started to configure some basic settings.
Unfortunately I cannot find information on how to implement 802.1x Radius authentication.
Do You know, where I can find detail information or an example how to implement this ?
    Thank You
    Wini

    Hello Rasika,
thank You very much for link to Your 802.1x authentication configuration
    on similar 3850 platform.
    Very useful stuff.
Is it possible to setup the Radius -Server function on the switch itself ?
I'm asking because I would like to test the setup in our office before rollout to customer.
    Kind regards

  • VLAN query with Cisco configuration example

    Dear List,
I was wondering if there is an error on the Cisco documentation below.
The diagram and config shows the LWAPs attached to the switch on vlan 5, but the trunk to the WLC is pruning vlan 5.
If this is correct, how can the LWAPs speak LWAPP with the WLC?
The suggested config is a few lines below the diagram.
    Thanks for any feedback.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6366/products_configuration_example09186a0080665cdf.shtml#dia
    Chris.

The AP's management is on vlan 5, so there is not reason to have vlan 5 allowed on the trunk to the wlc.  Only interfaces that are configured on the WLC should be allowed.
Management, AP-Manager, and any dynamic interfaces... service-port can be included but shouldn't be routable.
Hope this explains it... if not let me know:)

  • Cisco devices configuration for CW-LMS

    Hello,
I am new to CiscoWorks LMS. I am working with a LMS 3.2 fresh installation. I added all the devices (routers, switches and 3 ASAs) into the DCR. Now I need to know how to configure the devices to send relevant info to the CW LMS machine. I am looking for something similar to this:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/solutions/Enterprise/Security/SAFE_RG/chap10.html#wp1056411
This is a deployment model for Cisco MARS, which shows what to configure on each device in the network to send the most relevant info (syslog, netflow) to the Cisco MARS.
Is there a best practice for CW LMS regarding this? For example, what syslog level should the routers send to the LMS?
    Thank you!

There is a deployment guide whitepaper for LMS at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps2425/prod_white_papers_list.html .  As for what to do syslog-wise, you should configure your logging facility to be local7 (this is the default on IOS, but not on ASA OS), and send at least sev 5 or higher messages.  You may want to bump that up to sev 6 (informational), but sev 5 for IOS devices will be sufficient to get things like configuration change messages.  For CatOS, you definitely want sev 6.

  • CUCM Session Management Edition Configuration Example

    Hello:
Can somebody help with an example of configuration of the session management edition installed in a CUCM version 9 that has to be the central for dial plans and pstn access, it has work with other CUCMs version 9 (leafs)......i will appreciate if you can send an example or even a configuration guide, deployment guide, etc....
    Best Regards
    Bruno Lara

You can find a lot of into on it if you search cisco.com
    https://www.ciscolive.com/online/connect/sessionDetail.ww?SESSION_ID=6107&tclass=popup
Basically think of it as a GK in old terminology, it will aggregate all the dial plans and you will direct anything you don't recognize to it for routing.
