  • Cisco Integrated Management Controller Unexpected Error

I m getting unexpected error from my Cisco Integrated Management Controller when i login.
I cannot see the server properties and Cisco Integrated Management Controller (CIMC) Information.
    the fields are blank.
Only the server status can been seen.
All the status are showing Good.
    What should I do ?
There is no error on the Fault Summary.

The CIMC is an on-board management unit for the Cisco UCS C-series Rack-mount servers that provides out-of-band management capabilities.  There is no additional cost to use the CIMC.  However, you might consider other management options if you prefer a single management system rather than managing each server via CIMC separately.  The Cisco UCS C-Series Management Options Video Data Sheet (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/ps10265/ps10493/cis-102143.html) has some useful information on the management options for the Cisco UCS C-series Rack-mount servers.

  • HD Controller Error in System Properties

    Hello,
Under system properties--hard disk controllers I have 3 entries:  Primary IDE Controller (single fifo), Secondary IDE controller (single fifo), and Duel PCI IDE Controller.
The primary and secondary IDE controller entries have exclamation marks next to them noting that they are not working corectly.
My 2 hard disk drives do not show under the disk drive entry due to the controller "errors".
What IDE drivers should I use to fix this problem.  Since I cannot access the hard drives I cannot turn on DMA support.
    Thanks for the help!

Can your machine read CDs?  There may be drivers for your IDE controllers under Windows ME on the CD that came with your motherboard.
Caveat: I am speaking from experience with EPoX and ASUS motherboards; I am fairly new to MSIs, but I would expect they would have the same sort of drivers available.

  • System FCS error frames on Catalyst 3750

    Please,
may someone explain what are the "System FCS error frames" I see with "show controllers ethernet-controller" on some ports of a Catalyst (on trunk and also on access ports) WS-C3750G-24TS-S (3 switches in stackwyse)?
Error counters advance slowly, but they do grow... and I am afraid this could be the reason for variable slow access time to a server application menu...
For example "8 System FCS error frames".
The ports are connected to a PIX-515E and I see the same error count on the firewall interfaces (PIX "show interface" command shows me "8 input errors, 8 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 8 ignored, 0 abort")
A few errors may be seen also on other ports, connected to other (C3550)switches.
I tried to upgrade the IOS version, so I loaded "ipbase 12.2(25)SEB4 " on the Catalyst 3750, but it did not solve the problem.
PIX firewalls are running software 6.3(4).
Why these errors are called "System FCS error frames" ? I could not find anything searching on Cisco CCO!
    Thanks

I apologies for the delay answering, my notebook has been down for 5 days and also cco access password...
Thank you for the explanation and suggestion.
We have a second rack with another three switch 4750 in stackwyse, same models as the "faulty" ones, and the errors are not present on those switches, so it must be something hardware related on the first group of switches.
I cannot touch those devices at the moment, we captured traffic frames with 3 Notebook PCs running "Ethereral" lan sniffer, traffic to and from the server and two clients and we discovered that in different ports of those switches, some packets never reach the clients, causing many TCP retransmissions, especially witch continuous traffic (http get and ftp transfers). This problem is visible on some, but not all, of the catalsyt 3750 switches in stackwyse, but in every one of the three switches. We are planning to go on-site and replace the hopefully faulty one ( or reseat the cables as you suggested).
Is this a problem you have seen before?

  • Cisco LWAP & WLAN Controller Flexconnect Across HP Switches

Hello All, I'm looking for a little guidance in making the needed routing and switching configuration changes on our Corporate Network to accomadate flex connect functionality for Cisco Lightweight Access Points (LWAPs).  The LWAPs that are currently configured on our network only work when our WLAN Controller is up and running and I need for them to be disconnectable so that we can move the WLAN Controller to our virtual co-lo.  It should be known that I inhereted this network from the previous admin and have been working hard to map everything out to the best of my ability.  Also, the WLAN controller is already operating in our production network so it limits my ability to do much testing.
Just FYI, I'm a new Systems Admin promoted from a Desktop Support role and have my CCENT (Currently working on CCNA & MCITP Server Admin) so I have some knowledge but it is limited on the networking and switching side of things.  Unfortunately, the Senior Systems Admin has even less knowledge of networking than me and I don't really have anyone to turn to which is why I'm posting here.  I would have utilized GNS to help me simulate the configuration however there are HP switches in the mix and no means of emulating them.

    (CORT250) Cisco 3845 - 10.1.1.250
    (CO-WLAN-CTRLER) Cisco 5508 Wireless Controller - 10.1.1.2
    (COSW240) HP Procurve 4108GL - 10.1.1.240
    (COSW238) HP Procurve 2510B-24 - 10.1.20.238
    (CORP-AP-MIS) AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9 - 10.1.1.79
(COSW239) HP1810G-24 - No IP (Inaccesible but being replaced)
I will now go on to explain our network topology as it pertains to the WAPs and WLAN Controller and how I believe it needs to be configured in order to operate from my perspective.
Our Corporate and Guest Wireless Access is provided via the Sonicwall CONSA251 through a connection from the X0 interface to HP Switch COSW239 which is then connected to WLAN Controller CO-WLAN-CTRLER as detailed below:
    Device - Interface Name/Port
    CONSA251 - X0
    COSW239  - 2
    COSW239  - 18,19
    CO-WLAN-CTRLER - 2,3
The WLAN Controller currently communicates with all the LWAPs via Layer 3 TCP\IP as I understand it and then routes all DHCP requests and traffic destine for the 10.1.101.1 (corporate WLAN) and 192.168.1.1 (Guest WLAN) to the Sonicwall and vice versa.
Now what I am trying to do is VLAN the LWAP CORP-AP-MIS across the HP Switches to the X0 interface on the Sonicwall NSA240 where it will be able to route traffic via VLAN 20 & 30.  The problem lies in my inexperience with HP VLAN configurations and how the ports need to be configured on each device so it can route traffic to the Sonicwall when the WLAN Controller is shutdown.
The LWAP CORP-AP-MIS layer 2 trace to the WLAN Controller is as shown below:
    Device - Interface Name/Port
    CORP-AP-MIS -  FA/0
    COSW238     - 16
    COSW238     - 25
    COSW240     - B4
    COSW240     - H6
    CORT250     - GigabitEthernet0/0
    CORT250     - Se1/0
    CONSA251    - X0
Now for all intesive purposes the Corporate Router CORT250 should probably be handling the routing for our Corporate and Guest Wireless network however that was not the way it was originally setup and I have to work with what was inhereted.  The Corporate Router CORT250 has a default route to the Sonicwall and the Sonicwall CONSA251 has all the routing already in place for the Corporate & Guest WLANs.
What I would like to do is VLAN off the X0-V20&V30 accross multiple switches and switchports to each LWAP in our building.  I do have the LWAP I'm testing on configured with Flex Connect which I understand is required for it to be disconnectable.
Any guidance on how I would go about configuring this accross devices would be appreciated.  I know there are some difference between HP and Cisco Switching terms and how tagging, untagging, and trunking works however I lack the experience to apply this in practice especially in a production environment.
I will be happy to provide any additional information or clarification that is needed.  Thank you in advance for the help.

Just to add about the ISE... you can profile, but having only one ssid might or might not work in your situation.  Also if you end up with remote sites or ap's in h-reap mode, currently ISE cant do any profiling.  If you go with the 7500 or 5508/WiSM2, they don't really do an active-active or active backup. They are both up and you can split the load or put all ap's on one, its up to you.  I usually split the load just to make sure both are working.  I don't want to all of a sudden loose the primary and then find out my secondary/backup is not working.

    Hello @larrycarol99,
I understand that after upgrading your computer when you plug in an ethernet cord you get a hardware malfunction error. I am providing you with a Microsoft Support document: Hardware Malfunction Results in System Error Message that explains what causes that error and provides steps on fixing it. I am also including a link to the Compaq Presario 5300US Desktop PC Drivers page, which unfortunately does not have any drivers for your computer running Windows Vista.
I hope this helps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
Please click the "Thumbs Up" on the bottom right of this post to say thank you if you appreciate the support I provide!
Also be sure to mark my post as “Accept as Solution" if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others who face the same challenge find the same solution.

Try reloading these critical base drivers in this order. Download these to your desktop and double click on them to install.
    Intel Chipset SW Installation Utility
    Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
    Intel Display Driver
    Realtek Audio Driver
If this fixes up your problem, it was probably a Windows Update that caused the problem. I recommend setting Windows Update to only allow manual updates, and when you check for updates, never let it change any of your hardware drivers, Toshiba laptops are very finicky about using only their drivers.
Click 'Start - All Programs -Windows Update', then click on 'Change settings' on the menu at left, under 'Important updates' click on the drop down menu at right, select 'Never check for updates (not recommended)', and then click 'OK'.
Please let us know if it works. Good luck.

  • Controller error...

    Hi there
    I hope you can help.
I have a PC here which is reporting numerous controller errors, some of which culminate in the dreaded BSOD.  I have included the information from one of the Event Viewer files below.  If anyone can offer any advice please that would be much appreciated.
FYI I have run the Lenovo hard drive quick test and Windows memory diagnostic tools, both of which it passed.
    Many thanks.

Thanks!! This worked! It seems the Intel INF auto update utility didn't update them to the latest. I had to download the [RST and AHCI Driver and GUI|http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20110&lang=eng] and manually search for new drivers in device manager. Now the drive is noticeably quicker and error free :)
Thanks for all the help guys :)

  • Satellite P300-156 - driver detected controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort1

    Hi
I have recently installed a secondary hard drive in my P300-156 and am having some problems with it. I keep getting Event ID 11 in the system event log "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Ide\IdePort1." and suffer with very bad performance with this drive.
The drive is new and works fine in other systems and even works ok if I swap drive bays on my P300-156 but the problem with that is the drive does not fit in the other bay as it is quite thick. The drive in question is a Samsung HM100UI 2.5" 1TB Sata. I have also tried other drives in this bay and they work ok too.
I am using windows 7 ultimate and Intel chipset drivers. It's an Intel ICH8M SATA AHCI controller, driver version 7.0.0.1013. Have tried different drivers and AHCI/IDE mode. Also tried a fresh installation and the problem persists.
Am at a loss why this drive is having problems is there anything else someone can suggest to try?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1

I have been getting the following error repeatedly. My L765D-S7015 (purchased new 12/24/2010) unit has really slowed down and I have tried doing a recovery to no avail. The OS is Winodws 7 Home premium 64-bit. Any suggestions what I should be looking for, or should I take it in for service?

Suspect trouble with the controller for the second disk shown in Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc).  (The first one is DR0.)
I have tried doing a recovery to no avail.
That pretty much tells us that software is not the problem.

  • An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR3 during a paging operation. - The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\DR7

How can i ensure that the harddisk3 designation is relatd with USB etxernal disk?
I have several erros in LOGs:
An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR3 during a paging operation.
    and
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\DR7
All times are HardDisk3 and sometimes it references to DR3 and sometimes DR7
    My disk structure is:
2 RAID5 arrays fomr the same disks (80GB and 2 TB)
and USB 2 TB External hard disk with several partitions
I´m 99% sure that the error is related to the external USB disk and the Dell DIag tool shows no problems with any component

    Hi,
For finding the exact hard disk you could refer to this article. It is an old article but the structure is not changed:
How to Distinguish a Physical Disk Device from an Event Message
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/159865
Meanwhile for the error message "error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk3\DR3 during a paging operation", according to my search result it could be related to fragments. So please try a defragment on your hard disk (if it is the USB disk then perform
a defragment on USB disk) and see the result.

  • The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1-4\DR1-4.

    Hello all
I just recently bought a new gaming PC on black friday and is running just fine.  Then one day i decided to take a look in the event log and i notice an error that would appear four time during startup of the machine.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\DR1.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk3\DR3.
The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk4\DR4.
I only have one internal hard drive located on disk 0 and an external located on disk 5. So i have no idea why i'm getting this error when nothing is connected.
I installed the latest controller drivers and just for fun everything else related to my GIGABYTE motherboard but unfortunately still occurs after turning my computer. (note for the bios i have version F4 not sure if updating it to F5 is worth doing for
    this issue).
If anyone could help me with this error or if i can just ignore it.
    Thank you

    Angel
If the drive is an SSD update the firmware.
Are the message an error (red symbol) or a warning (yellow symbol)?
I would also run CHKDSK and get the diagnostic utility (and run it of course) from the HD mfr.
    CHKDSK /R /F
Chkdsk disclaimer: While performing chkdsk on the hard drive if any bad sectors are found  any data available on that sector might be lost so as usual backup your data.
Run CHKDSK /R /F from an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt.
Do this for each hard drive on your system.
When it tells you it can't do it right now - and asks you if you'd like to do it at the next reboot - answer Y (for Yes) and press Enter.
Then reboot and let the test run.
It may take a while for it to run, but keep an occasional eye on it to see if it generates any errors.
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/guide-to-using-check-disk-in-windows-vista/
See "CHKDSK LogFile" below in order to check the results of the test.
    CHKDSK LogFile:
Go to Start and type in "eventvwr.msc" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Expand the Windows logs heading, then select the Application log file entry.
Double click on the Source column header.
Scroll down the list until you find the Chkdsk entry (wininit for Win7) (winlogon for XP).
Copy/paste the results into your next post.
