Cisco 7606 FIB Protocol Allocation mismatch after mls cef maximum-routes command

Hi,
we are trying to fine tune the mls cef maximum-routes without success for ipv4 on our Cisco 7606 router equiped like this:
Mod Ports Card Type                              Model              Serial No.
  2   24  CEF720 24 port 1000mb SFP              WS-X6724-SFP       SAL09169CP0
  6    2  Supervisor Engine 720 (Active)         WS-SUP720-3BXL     SAL10370YH7
Mod MAC addresses                       Hw    Fw           Sw           Status
  2  0013.c38b.ed9c to 0013.c38b.edb3   2.2   12.2(14r)S5  12.2(33)SRC1 Ok

  2  Centralized Forwarding Card WS-F6700-CFC       SAL09159C8T  2.0    Ok
  6  Policy Feature Card 3       WS-F6K-PFC3BXL     SAL10360CJ0  1.8    Ok
  6  MSFC3 Daughterboard         WS-SUP720          SAL10360GNX  2.5    Ok
the show version is like this:
System image file is "bootdisk:c7600s72033-adventerprisek9-mz.122-33.SRC1.bin"
We tryied to set the value of the ipv4 FIB TCAM to 720k with this command:
mls cef maximum-routes ip 720
and then to save the configuration we used the "write" command. This was the output after we wrote the configuration:
FIB TCAM maximum routes :
=======================
Current :-
 IPv4 + MPLS         - 512k (default)
 IPv6 + IP Multicast - 256k (default)
User configured :-
 IPv4                - 720k
 MPLS                - 16k (default)
 IPv6 + IP Multicast - 144k (default)
Upon reboot :-
 IPv4                - 720k
 MPLS                - 16k (default)
 IPv6 + IP Multicast - 144k (default)
so we reloaded the router to get the new value.
when the router was up again it start to reload each 4 minutes. The FIB TCAM value was:
show mls cef maximum-routes
Reload scheduled for 13:50:09 DST Wed Aug 13 2014 (in 2 minutes and 51 seconds)
Reload reason: FIB Protocol Allocation mismatchFIB TCAM maximum routes :
=======================
Current :-
 IPv4 + MPLS         - 512k (default)
 IPv6 + IP Multicast - 256k (default)
User configured :-
 IPv4 + MPLS         - 512k (default)
 IPv6 + IP Multicast - 256k (default)
Upon reboot :-
 IPv4 + MPLS         - 512k (default)
 IPv6 + IP Multicast - 256k (default)
We know that our cisco is able to handle up to 1M of ipv4 routes inside the TCAM but we cannot set more than 512k ipv4 routes.
Why the router doesn't accept the new value?
Thanks

    Dear All
From cisco document 6500-sup720 and 7600-rsp720 are support IPv4 unicast and MPLS—512,000 routes by default. On my network we have route more than 400K which nearly reach to the limit then I tried to change from 512K to 1007K as below.

  • CWLMS 3.1 : CiscoView of Cisco 7606-S Router

    Hi Friend,
I am facing some issue with CiscoView of 7606-S router.
Please find the attachment for more details.
In figure, The RED Marked LAN port appears GREEN when viewed through CiscoWorks but physically on Cisco 7606-S router, no such port exists at all.
Also besides this, we have 3 fiber ports and 2 RJ-45 port on Cisco router visible through CiscoView, but physically on Cisco router 2 Fiber and 2 RJ-45 port are present.
first fiber port is up and connected whereas when seen through CiscoWorks, it shows 3rd fiber port as green.

you can not display your 7600 in ciscoview, the most probably reason is that a device package is needed to do this. do the following:
    1. Download the device package from the link (Cat6000IOS.cv50.v29-1.zip, Cat6000IOS.cv50.v29-1.readme)
    http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/apps/vwplan/cvresult.cgi?product_class=Routers&product=Internet+Router+7600+IOS&application=All+Versions
    2. Go to Common Services > Software Center > Device Update, then select CiscoView > click on 'Check for updates' > select 'Enter Server Path' and enter the path where you downloaded the files > continue the instructions to
    install it.
This will probably need to restart ciscoworks to apply the changes.

  • Cisco VLAN Trunking Protocol Vulnerability

I have got a cisco 2821 model router with a c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.151-2.T4 IOS, and was reported with 'Cisco VLAN Trunking Protocol Vulnerability'.
Though the device is in server mode, I do not have any domain name or trunk port configured.
Is my device really vulnerable? If yes, whats next?

    Hi Alex,
for the trunk port on Catalyst on port GE 1/0/45, we need to enable the trunk and for on encapsulation dot1q because this catalyst model is ISL capable also and the SF300 working only with Dot1q Encapsultion
The configuration on catalyst should :
    #config terminal
    #interface Gi 1/0/45
    # switchport encapsulation
    #switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    #switchport mode trunk
    #switchport trunk allowed vlan 101-103
    #spanning-tree portfast
For SF300 the port trunk it looks fine but for the port where the PC should receive an IP address
    #interface fastethernet29
     #switchport mode access
     #switchport ccess vlan 103
Please let me know after this configuration
    Thanks

Well I made a test with [3.] but no matchs in access-list and ICMP was working than I made change [4.] and yeap icmp was not working and I have seen match in input direction good. It looks like that output direction in acl not working so I removed line 1 inc acl [4.] and icmp still not working and acl [3.] started matching icmp in line 1? Why? Can anybody help me? Thanks.

  • After getting a new router, my Ipod touch is asking for a password.  I didn't have one before, so I don't know what it is

After getting a new router, my ipod touch is asking for a password.  I was able to put in the router's passcode on all my other wireless stuff, but the ipod won't accept it.  I thought I had made too many attempts, but I've reset it and it still won't let me on.  I have no idea what the password is or why it is now asking for one. Help!!

Look at the manual for the router.  The password is on the router.  Then change the password in the router to something other than the default one and use that password when the iPod asks for it (it will only ask once, once it has the password/router combo in its memory, it will remember it)

  • Cannot locate wireless Airport hubs in Airfoil after upgrading modem and router?

Cannot locate wireless Airport hubs in Airfoil after upgrading modem and router?  Just replaced modem and router-Airport is working for internet connection, but I cannot locate the two additional sites in my home to feed music to.  Each is connected with a Apple wireless hub.  Thanks

To work in this configuration, you just need to setup the AX as a bridge.
To set up the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) as a bridge, using the AirPort Admin Utility, connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, make these settings:
    Network tab
    - Distribute IP addresses (unchecked)
    - Apply the new setting.

  • TS3899 I HAVE IPAD AIR HAVING PROBLEMS WITH EMAIL DELETING AFTER A SHORT TIME WITHOUT COMMAND CAN YOU HELP

    Q. I have an IPAD air having problems with my email deleting after a short while without command.

I've had issues like this before.
I ended up having to call my provide to reset the connection, which worked for a while, then quit. i then took it into my provider for a new sim card and had the connection re-established again. I haven't had issues since.
hopefully for you resetting the connection with your provider will do the trick and a new SIM card wont be nessesary.

Thanks for the response Grant.  I had both set to "never" and the power connected.  I did however find while searching the forum page, an answer already given to another enquiry.  The security/general tab.  I had it checked, now unchecked am hoping it will solve my problem.  Thanks again, Cebustu.

Have you tried removing the whole xorg or the the whole xorg-drivers group? The latter may not work, because:
    [karol@black ~]$ pacman -Rns xorg-drivers
    checking dependencies...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
    :: xorg-server: requires xf86-input-evdev
that's why I suggester removing the whole xorg group.
You can use the '-dd' switch:
    [karol@black ~]$ pacman -Rdd xorg-drivers
    Targets (4):
Name Old Version New Version Net Change
    xf86-input-evdev 2.6.0-4 -0,05 MiB
    xf86-video-fbdev 0.4.2-5 -0,03 MiB
    xf86-video-intel 2.17.0-2 -0,78 MiB
    xf86-video-vesa 2.3.0-7 -0,04 MiB
    Total Removed Size: 0,90 MiB
Do you want to remove these packages? [Y/n]
just be sure to reinstall Intel drivers.

I've tried also the newest ati drivers ( 8.28.8 ) with no luck (and btw the current PKGBUILD doesn't work too, it complains about a already existing links to Makefile.lib.c; applying the patch ati-makefile-2.6.16.patch correct the problem).
The open source's ati drivers work, and I'm using them now. xorg.conf hasn't changed at all and, no, generating one new with aticonfig doesn't solve the problem.

    I got it working now
At first, compiling ati-fglrx-beyond with the Cerebral's pkgbuild they gave me this error:
    make: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.17-beyond'
ln: creating symbolic link `./Makefile.lib.c' to `../scripts/Makefile.lib.c': File exists

    make: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.17-beyond'
ok, let's remove that link then, I thought. But after having done that:
    make: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.17-beyond'
    CC scripts/Makefile.lib.o
gcc: scripts/Makefile.lib.c: No such file or directory

    make: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.17-beyond'
    That was weird  :?
After googling a bit, I've found an idea from the ubuntu forum where it says to run
    make scripts/
from /usr/src/linux-$kernver/ ; after a little wait time to allow the compiling, I retried to make the driver compiling and this time they worked flawlessly
No more module mismatch, I wonder why I didn't have that Makefile.lib.c in the kernel source directory....
Anyway, thanks for your help Cerebral

  • Cisco Profile 55 H323 mode Off after restart

    Hi All,
We have a Cisco Profile 55 that for some reason after a restart switchs H323 Mode to off after a restart.
Through the web interface if you browse to Configuration -> System Configuration -> Network services -> H323 Mode is the first setting.
I have set it to On and save it twice now but after a restart it has changed back to off!
Any idea's what would be causing this would be a great help.
    Thanks
    John

    Hello John -
As Martin as mentioned above, when using CUCM, H323 isn't supported.  Actually starting with TC7 as seen in the TC release notes, on pg 7, when registering an endpoint to CUCM, H323 becomes disabled.
Taking a look at the following TelePresence Admin Guide with CUCM, on pg 11, it mentions that when using a TelePresence endpoint registered to CUCM, the default call protocol is SIP, this is because CUCM is SIP only.
In order to make H323 calls, you'll need to rely on either a VCS-C/E or Expressway-C/E to do the SIP to H323 interworking as I don't believe CUCM can.  Expressway is preferred when using CUCM.
