Cisco 7940 - View caller contact stored on phone

When someone calls from external numer and I have stored contact on phone (cisco 7940), It's display only number not contact name. How I can change it, i try find answer on documentation but I didn't find anything.

CUCM can not do this, its a limitation. It can be done on the gateway using some advanced TCL scripting on the router but complex and with limitations.
If you are using CUCME then certainly its possible.

The phone stays in upgrading....
We need to fix this first.
Fix the issues related to DHCP & TFTP on the switch to which the phone is connected so that the phone can get the config from the DHCP server.
Sample DHCP config on switch:
ip dhcp pool dhcpconf
network A.S.D.W 255.255.255.0
default-router A.S.D.1
option 150 ip A.S.D.X ----->TFTP server of CUCM
lease infinite
ip address dhcp
Interface config:
interface FastEthernet0/1
switchport voice vlan 1
spanning-tree portfast
Check the routing issues between phone and CUCM TFTP server.
Upgrade the phone to the latest firmware and check if you have any issues.
Note: Do not disconnect the phone while the firmware is upgrading.

That's exactly what it does, refresh your contacts. As an example if you add a contact on your Mac or iPad and you use iCloud to sync them altogether, then this can be used to refresh the contacts on your iPhone.

Caller ID for incoming calls NOT displaying name from contacts (only displays phone # on BB Z10)

on the Z10 Whenever I receive an incoming call, the caller ID only shows the phone #, even when I have that number matched to a contact in the phone, even the call log it show the number and not the name. Thank you Arsen but, as with everyone else : (1) When you get an in-coming call, it has no call log on the phone app call log that allows you do a thing under the sun except to touch the number of the last call, and when you do, it CALLS THEM BACK. (2) On every other BlackBerry I have owned, about 10 to-date, I simply selected the last in-coming call and had a button at the bottom of the screen to allow me to ADD TO CONTACTS. (3) This does NOT exist on the Z10, and there certainly is no "Click on number, little slider pops on the right, select add to contact." Instead it dials them. Frustrating other uses have described Arsen. Further, while on the topic : (4) None of this has anything to do with 10-digit national dialing plan or anything else on swipe finger down from top in Phone App, Arsen. (5) When you swipe Phone App down, you see SETTINGS. Then, there are 13 items. I have looked at all 13 items and see nothing as you describe to select, nor any instructions on what to set the SMART DIALING to when there are 3 area codes local for my city and country code shows +1. Further, while on topic here : (6) Visual Voice Mail has been turned-on and whatever visual voice mail is, never supported on any previous BlackBerry including my 9780 before this, I have it with T-Mobile and have it turned on on the BlackBerry Z10 and it too does not work. On the positive side, I do have a work-around for BlackBerry Z10 to 2013 Toyota entune. (7) I first took a vm msg .wav file of just hello (blank will not send) and saved it on BlackBerry Z10. The Toyota entune is LOOKING for a music and will LOCK-UP if none are found. By giving it this, it worked on my 2013 Toyota entune for the 1st time ever. Yeah ! It is a little frustrating every few minutes listening to myself say HELLO. But, hey no one really notices it with all the other stuff going on NAVIGATION, radio, cell phone calls, and all the computerized alerts on 2013 Toyota even without entune. (8) What I did now was to go into Navigation and remove SYNC with MUSIC. I accomplished that after pairing to Z10 to 2013 Toyota, by CANCELLING ALL CONNECTIONS leaving only the pairing itself. Then, you must choose some connections in the pairing section of SET-UP within Navigation itself. If you cannot even get to that point, try depressing on the Navigation Screen, INTERNET at which point it will allow you access to SET-UP when you see the message NO ENTUNE APP FOUND ON YOUR BlackBerry Z10. Red-headed step-child is what we all are. Have to help each other. Arsen I appeciate you helping all of us. Seems the list is about 20 who have voiced it here in this one thread. We voice it for the 200 million BlackBerry users worldwide, all left out in the cold despite a pretty cool Z10 product. Far better than iPhone 5. I chose phone and internet. Internet comes back no BLACKBERRY Z10 TOYOTA ENTUNE APP. But, at least now I don't have to hear the music HELLO and do not also have the BlackBerry Z10 LOCKED-UP with pop up message you have to say OK to 10 million times to clear and never can actually do a thing on the BlackBerry Z10 as a result. Cannot add an in-coming call to Contacts Z10. Cannot see name and number calling me, just the bloody number, no clue who is calling ridiculous. I've not failed to do that. The contact list on my Mac is from my phone, not my wifes phone (which is the troublesome one). I restored it to last backup and it is back but I am not certain the problem will be fixed. Time will tell. My question is how to get her phones contact list back post reset...just the contact list.

Phone List View: "Call Log" Option Not Available

I recently upgraded from BB 8830 to BB 9630. With the 8830, I was able to display my Call Log on the phone screen, but I can't seem to make it happen with the 9630. According to the User Guide for the 9630, I should be able to change the Phone List View field to "Call Log." However, "Call Log" does not appear in the drop-down list of options on my BB. My choices are Most Recent, Most Used, and Name. What am I missing? Please help!

I want email as I want this documented offical and no other means offeres me that assurance. I'd also like to discuss comensation for being harrassed with phone calls.

Well if you pay your bill the calls would not happen.
You need only tell them not to call you during working time.
The Fair Debt Collections Practices Act states you must tell them it is not convenient.
Now if marketing calls you can opt out at the Verizon web portal under your My Verizon account.
You will not get compensation for them to call you. Nice try.
However they could just shut your phone off and then you will call them.
Email is not an option.

Phone randomly calls contacts

My phone sometimes randomly calls numbers in my contacts list. Phone is on but keys not pressed, phone just calls a number... Usually it is my Mom and Dad... go figure... but it does that sometimes when I go in and out of coverage areas, my phone will just dial my parents number. I know I have great parents... even my phone loves 'em. Does this happen to anyone else????

Two possible reasons:
1. The "Call" key is somehow jammed
2. You have some application installed on your device which does these calls.

Question about Cisco 7940 ip phones

I always have the same problem with Cisco 7940 ip phones.
I only have direct access to one speed dial with the button near of the screen and I think that it isn't good because to get access to the rest speed dials I must to use short dials and I must to have it written in a paper to remember the number where I have each speed dial.
Is there any way to solve this problem?.

7914 should supports with 7940, 7960 and 7970. But in CCM4.1, I couldnt add phone button under 7940. I guess 7940 no longer suppot 7914.
After CCM 4.0, you have to create phone button template. For example, if you have one 7914 which has 14 buttons, then you have to create phone button template with additional buttons.
Under phone device, you can pick the new phone button template, and then select "Expansion Module Information" 7914 module.

If you have performed a sync with the device since you restored this old backup, then don't bother looking for another backup. iTunes writes over the last backup each time you sync. If you were handling contacts in iCloud, you would find them by logging into iCloud. Or you can check settings and iCloud and see if the button it on for Contacts. Otherwise it might have been on the computer, if you had a program that syncs with iTunes and handles contacts, depending on the computer system you use. If Windows, it would be Windows Contacts or Outlook. If a Mac, there is a Mac Address book as well.

I got my phone a couple of years ago and when it came in the mail, I wasn't home so my brother decided to set up my iPhone for me because he was so desperate to check the phone out. My iCloud account has been his account and it's been set up under his e-mail since the day I got my phone. Once he bought an iPhone, he set it up under the same e-mail account and now we share it. It's so annoying because all of my pictures and stuff are stored in my iCloud, but that's under his e-mail and I really want a new iCloud account but I want to transfer all of my iCloud information and pictures to my e-mail without losing them. Randomly, my brother has been receiving some of my facetime calls and I even turned it off so that it is only set on my device. I didn't even know he received any of my facetime calls until the other day when my friend told me. Now, our contacts are shared and I don't want that either. At one point during the summer, he was receiving my text messages as well. I turned all of those off under settings so they wouldn't be shared on his device, but I need to find a way to carry my iCloud stuff and set it up in a my own completely separate account. Please, please help me. I really am getting so frustrated with it and neither of us want to delete our accounts because we don't want to lose our iCloud stuff.
