Cisco 876 suddenly lost connection to DSL provider.

Greetings,
For the past 6 months i have set up a 876 router (DSLoISDN) which worked fine. Four days ago we lost DSL connection to the ISP. The ISP made a test and found out that his systems are ok and that there must be some kind of wrong config to our router!!!
I am going nuts but before that please give me any hint before I start screaming.
My actions are the following:
1. Checked NTU modem and is fine. Also replaced cabling and DSL filter just in case.
2. Router has following indications
'ON' is on
'Link' is on
'CD' is blinking
My Atm interface is setup in 'auto' dsl-operation mode with PPPoA and authentication credential good(tested again with ISP).
My atm status is down / down and when i issued the 'sh dsl int atm 0' i got the following:

PS I assume that the DSL port in my router is working since after a reset i see all indications and moreover from SDM i can enable/disable interface...

I found the problem, the router is bad.  I bought a new router and installed it, made no changes to the computer hardware, and the new router worked fine with the ethernet connection for the hard wired computer.  I am really disappointed in the help that I received from linksys.  They kept insisting there was nothing wrong with the router and that the 2 computers I tried to hard wire to the router both had bad ethernet ports.  I will not be buying their products again.

    It sounds like you are unable to either connect to, or see your home Wi-Fi network. I would first, update your router, then reset your network settings. Assuming you restored from a backup, my thought is that the backed up network settings may need to be refreshed:
    Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
    Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
    previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings

  • Mail.app suddenly lost connection to exchange server

    Hello
    I have 3 (at least) different mail.app accounts (on different macs) that have lost the connection to our exchange server and is not able to reconnect to it..
    We can access the mails from webmail or from Entourage.
    At first we thought that it was the latest update to mail.app but we have found others on the internet with the same problem (before the update). Sadly they have not provided us with the sollution to the problem.
    I plan to re-boot the exchange server on sunday and will update the post with the result.
    But if anybody have had the same problem and found a solution, then I would very much like to hear about it.

    I'm having the exact same issue. However, since I'm not in the IT department I cannot reboot our Exchange server. Were you able to find a solution?

  • Can't get my tv to home share with my pc anymore. It's been working for 11 months and all the sudden lost connection. I even created 2 new itunes accts and logged in on my pc but the tv won't accept any log in.

    Our Apple TV worked great for 11 months and all the sudden it doesn't get itunes, netflicks or anything. Won't even let us log into it. Says Itunes isn't available however it's available on my pc and lets me log in on any pc. I even created 2 new accts and logged into them on the pc but apple tv still won't allow login. Tried reconfiguring wifi and other settings. No go still.  Help!

    I updated my Safari Browser and then lost my connection to Wowway. I do have Internet connection but my computer and Imac OSX 10.5.8 cannot connect to their server. Tried Resetting Sarfari didn't help.Downloaded TenFourFox G3-8.0. and still cannot connect.
    I can connect to my Wowway account from my PC at work but not from my Mac. It is a "vintage" computer I have had for 4-5 yearss so Apple won't support it .

  • E1200 lost connection

    I have 3 routers at home. The first one is from my internet provider. Then I have a dlink (in bridge mode) and the cisco E1200 (also in bridge mode). They are connected in this way: Provider - dlink - cisco - my pc.
    Everything works fine for a few hours, then the cisco router has lost connection. My pc get an invalid ip and can't find the dhcp server. When I connect my pc to the dlink router, my pc doesn't lose connection.
    The cisco router has also problems to get it's ip from dhcp.
    Is the router broken?

    It is possible that the router needs a firmware update. Try to update the firmware that you can download from this link http://support.linksys.com/en-us/support/routers/E1200. Make sure to reset the router afterwards back to defaults by pressing and holding the reset button down. Re-configure the router as well after that. You can try to switch also the DLink and the Linksys router and see if you get the same problem.

  • Wifi Suddenly Dropped Connection and won't work

    My iPad suddenly lost connection to my Wifi and asked me to enter my password again to join it. So I did and suddenly none of my internet would work. I tried resetting/restoring my iPad and the network setting as well as messing about with the DNS settings. None worked.
    I went into wifi. Chose the network and clicked on the blue dot open the options. I pressed Forget this network and went to rejoin it.
    This is where I realised how daft I was being.
    I have on the stickies section of my MacBook the WEP password for my wifi. However I had recently changed it so had both the new and old passwords on the stickies.
    I had been entering the old password. However the iPad had accepted this and not gave me any error messages until I could not get onto safari. As the iPad was showing Wifi signal with full bars at times it never occured to me to try the other password.
    Anyway. I did. and. It worked. Notice other people have this problem. May be that they are as daft as me.

  • Why did my iPhone suddenly stop connecting to my home wi-fi network?

    I have had the phone for about a week.  It connected to my home wi-fi network perfectly.  Yesterday, I suddenly lost connection and when I went to rejoin the network, it took me several tries and various methods recommended by other forums before it would finally connect.  Today the same thing happened, after working perfectly fine for the first part of the day.  Except now, I can't get it to rejoin at all.  Just wondering if anyone has ideas as to what the problem might be, before I contact technical support. 

    By the way, I didn't have any software updates, nor did I change any settings prior to this happening.

  • Lost connection when attempting to setup asdm

    I was vpn in and log onto my local desktop. I putty into my ASA and was in the process of configuring my ASA for asdm. 
    I had just input...
    nameif inside <enter>
    ip add <default gateway 255.255.255.0> <enter> 
    and I sudden lost connection to the desktop and now can't remote or ping my desktop and other servers on the network (use to able to). 
    I can still vpn in though..so not sure what the heck is going on. Did i set up "ip add..." wrong? Big Help please. 

    We do not have enough information to be sure about what the heck is going on but it sure does sound like you changed the IP address on the inside interface and that now devices on the inside (including your desktop) are attempting to communicate with the ASA using an address that is no longer the address of the ASA.
    One thing about this situation that puzzles me is that if you were configuring the ASA for ASDM how does that lead you to configure an IP address on the inside interface? To enable ASDM you need to be sure that the correct version of ASDM code is loaded in flash, you need the configuration to point to that ASDM file, and you need to specify what source addresses can use ASDM.

  • No Ping-Answer in Site-To-Site-Connection between Cisco 876 and CheckPoint-Firewall

    Hello!
    We try to establish a Site-To-Site-IPSec-connection between a Cisco 876 (local site) and a CheckPoint-firewall (remote site). The Cisco 876 is not directly connected to the internet, but is behind a DSL-Router with port-forwarding, forwarding ports 500 and 4500. The running config of the Cisco 876 is appended to this discussion thread. Unfortunately I get no output when debugging the connection with commands "debug crypto isakmp" and "debug crypto ipsec".
    From the Checkpoint-firewall point of view the connection seems to establish, but there is no ping answer.
    The server on the local site that should be reached from the network behind the Checkpoint-firewall has a routing entry "route -P add [inside ip-net remote] 255.255.255.0 [inside ip local]" (see also appended running config for naming of ip-addresses).
    Establishing a Cisco VPN-Client connection to the same Cisco 876 router works fine.
    Any help would be very much appreciated!

    Adding my two cents here.
    You always need to confirm that the following ports and protocol are opened:
    1- UDP port 500 --> ISAKMP
    2- UDP port 4500 --> NAT-T
    3- Protocol 50 ---> ESP
    A LAN-to-LAN tunnel will never establish a session over TCP, but it could use NAT-T (if behind NAT). Remember that a one-to-one translation is not a port-forwarding, a LAN-to-LAN tunnel does not work well unless you have a one-to-one translation for the NATted device, which I think, in your case is the Router.

    I had the problem that my iChat av connection was suddenly lost after x minutes.
    What helped in my case was changing my screensaver settings to f.a. 30 min.
    System preferences>desktop&screensaver.

    Hi Ralph,
    It was a screensaver that was supposed to a be "energy-saver".
    The sreensaver was distributed by the ABN-Amro bank as a goodie download.
    The computer went to sleep after 10 min and when you would wake it,
    it toke more time to get the HD up to speed than normal. (and ofcourse the connection was lost). It looked like the screensaver started evenwhile a video chat was running...
    I have no sreensaver running now and connection is stable.
    By the way, I am now able to video chat with 4 buddies at one time.
    Even beyond ten minutes.
    The MacPro was hosting. Other connected computers were two G4 powerbooks and one other Probook.
