  • Cisco 7970 Phone Background Image has lines through it

    Hi everyone, I have an issue where the configured programmable buttons have a line going through the image and gray over the color as well. If I unconfigure the buttons the image is normal.  Any suggestions on where to change this so my line buttons don't cover the image?
    thank you,
    Steve

    Actually it is anywhere there is text configured on the screen. The company name configured on the bottom of the display causes a gray line across the screen as well.

    I have a small VoIP lab at work. Containing a 1751-V running c1700-ipvoicek9-mz.124-5a.bin, a 3524-XL and two 7940G IP Phones and 1 Analog phone.
    Right now all is well, they can call each other fine and I set up Music on Hold for the analog line when connected to the IP phones.
    My question is. I want to put two different images on the 7940G phone displays. How can I do this. I have looked up docs and nothing helps.
    I have two PNG files ready, I just can't find the right Doc to help me.

  • Custom background image

    Once a custom logo is configured to use for a phones background image, Is there anyway to deploy it rather than someone having to go to each phone and select it?
    Customer would like the custom image to be the only one on the phone.
    thanks
    Rob

    Hi
    No - this is a common request but the functionality just isn't there yet... Which is fairly crackers - every company I've seen wants a standard background...

  • Custom background image for 7942 IP phones on CCM 6.1.2

    All,
    i am unable to create the custom background images for the Cisco 7942 IP phone, i am running a CCM version 6.1.2. I have uploaded the Image files and also the List.xml file, but when i click on custom images i dont see the image that i uploaded and it say "no selection available". And also after i uploaded the files i have restrated the TFTP services.Have attached the images and List.xml files.Please have a look @ them and let me know if i am missing something here.
    Thanks,
    Rohith

    First off, as this is a CUCM question, you'd be better of over in the IP Telephoney forum (
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/netpro/collaboration-voice-video/ip-telephony )
    The thing that jumps out at me is the case of the filename. CUCM Runs on Linux which is case sensitive. Try matching the case.
    If that doesn't help, try looking at the phone logs or Wiresharking the phone.

  • Random Default Background Image on startup

    OK so I know how to change the default image on Leopard startup and am aware thats not a supported thing to do....however as someone who takes a lot of photos I thought it would be nice to be able to have a random image be show from a particular folder on startup.
    Anyone know if this is possible to do with an AppleScript or another method?
    Thanks
    nstand

    Hello Chet,
    Take a look at this posting that gives instructions on how to set/change a back ground image.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/document/44191/how-modifychange-background-image-ip-phone-new
    One gotcha that I have ran into before, is the List.xml file needs to be modified in WORD.
    To change the background image on a phone from the call manager, you will need to:
    ->uncheck the option "enable end user to access phone background", under -> Device -> Device settings -> common phone profile.  However, when we made this change, all phones restarted and all calls were dropped!!!!!
    ->Enter background image name in the "background image field" toward the bottom of the phone configuration page.  Only name of the image is needed, not the path.
    In earlier releases of callmanager you could not change the background image from the ccm.  The work around that I used was to use an app called Phonedesigner.
    Hope this helps,
    if so, please rate.

  • 75975 Background Image.

    Hello,
    We have recently installed CCM 6.1(1) with 7975 color phones. We are trying to display a custom image on the phones and are having no luck. Through the call manager OS Administration page I have uploaded the .png files for the image and the thumbnail to the tftp server. I also uploaded the List.xml file to the Desktops/320x212x16 directory. I have stopped and started the tftp service, dissabled and re-enabled the Caching of Constant and Bin Files at Startup and rebooted the server. When I try to select a new background image I get a "Selections Unavailable" message on the phone. Any help is appreciated.
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
    I think you need Desktops/320x216x16 (note 216 not 212)
    The List.xml file defines an XML object that contains a list of background images. The List.xml file is stored in the following subdirectory on the TFTP server:
    /Desktops/320x216x16
    List.xml Example
    FTP:Desktops/320x216x16/TN-Fountain.png"
    URL="TFTP:Desktops/320x216x16/Fountain.png"/>
    FTP:Desktops/320x216x16/TN-FullMoon.png"
    URL="TFTP:Desktops/320x216x16/FullMoon.png"/>
    From this good 7975 doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7975g/6_1/english/administration/guide/7975cst.html#wp1088046
    Hope this helps!

  • UC320w SPA 525g2 background image

    Does anyone know how you can add your own custom background image to the spa525g2? Before upgrading to the uc320w the spa9000 let you easily log into the spa525g2 web interface and downloand an image for you screen, now with the uc320w that part is grayed out and unavailable for change. Don't know why this seems to be so difficult. If anyone has a way to download an image to this phone to use a your main screen please let me know. Thanks

    Just got back from cisco tech here are the steps in case anyone is interested in how to upload a picture via usb to the spa525 or spa525g2
    If you are going to use a picture from the USB memory device, perform the
    following steps:
    STEP 1 Connect a USB storage device to your PC.
    STEP 2 Create a directory named “pictures” on the USB device and copy the image files
    into that directory. Image files must be between 30K and 300K in size. The phone
    can only read 45 images from the USB device.
    STEP 3 Remove the USB device from your PC and insert it into the USB slot on the Cisco
    SPA 525G/525G2.
    To change the background picture on your phone:
    STEP 1 Press the Setup button.
    STEP 2 Scroll to User Preferences and press Select.
    STEP 3 Scroll to Screen Preferences and press Select.
    STEP 4 Scroll to Wallpaper. Press the Right Arrow key to select an image to use as the
    wallpaper.
    STEP 5 Use the navigation arrows to choose an image. Press Select to choose the image,
    or to preview how the image will look on your phone, select the image and press
    View. Press Select to choose the image, or use the Previous, Next, and Back keys.
    STEP 6 Press Save.

  • Background Image file for 7975

    What are the file specifications for a custom background image on the Cisco 7975 Ip phone? I mean, the size, resolution, color depth and so on
    Thank you in advance

    The PNG files for background images must meet the following requirements for proper display on the Cisco Unified IP Phone:
    •Full size image-320 pixels (width) X 212 pixels (height).
    •Thumbnail image-80 pixels (width) X 53 pixels (height).
    •Color palette-Includes up to 16-bit color (65535 colors). You can use more than 16-bit color, but the phone will reduce the color palette to 16-bit before displaying the image. For best results, reduce the color palette of an image to 16-bit when you create a PNG file.

  • 8851 Background Image size

    I'm having problems with the thumbnail images on a 8551 phone.
    According to the docs at www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/8811_8841_8851_8861/10_5/english/adminguide/P881_BK_A92A3B94_00_adminguide-8811_41_51_61-10_5/P881_BK_A92A3B94_00_adminguide-8811_41_51_61-10_5_chapter_01010.html the thumbnail image sizes for the 8851 are 25% of the main image size (which is 800x480 at 24 bit colour depth so the thumbnail would be 200x120) But a few lines further down, the docs say the image size should be 159x109 (which is NOT 25% of the background image size and is a different aspect ratio.)
    I tried to open a couple of the existing thumbnails from Desktops/800x480x24 on my TFTP server, but they don't appear to be regonised as image files by my computer.
    I've tried images of 159x109x24 bit colour and 200x120x24 bit colour, all PNG, but none of them work as thumbnails.
    What are the specs of the thumbnail files for the 8851 phones?

  • Bulk updating 7975G Background Image - possible?

    Hi all,
    I've followed the instructions at the link below to upload a new background image and thumbnail onto the CUCM 7.0.1 server, uploaded a new List.xml file and the user can now select this new image from the phone and display it as their background -
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/7975g/7_0/english/administration/guide/7975cst.html#wp1088046
    I've also trawled this site trying to find a way to push the image out to all phones on the system, and the only thing i could find was the following, which is from last year -
    http://www.netcraftsmen.net/resources/blogs/pushbackgroundtoipphone.html?blogger=William+Bell
    Is there an easier way to do this now or are they the only options?  Will i have to run round the phones and do it manually?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

    There's no native tool for this from Cisco. A few third parties have written software to accomplish this. Here is the one I use: http://www.voipintegration.com/Software-Background-Deployer.aspx

    Hi Java
    I have tried the following, but the image is not reflecting in the IP Phone.
    -->Login CUCM. Go to OS administration.
    -->Go to Software upgrades>Upload TFTP server file
    -->In the directory, give the path as /Desktops/800x600x16
    -->Then upload the attached XML, created .png (with 800 pixels (width) X 600 pixels (height)) files.
    -->Then save modifications
    -->Go to CUCM serviceability, tools>control center>featured services, then restart the Cisco TFTP service.
    My List.xml details:
    FTP:Desktops/320x212x12/TN-IOB.png”
    URL=”TFTP:Desktops/320x212x12/TN-sample.png”/>
    FTP:Desktops/320x212x12/TN-IOB.png”
    URL=”TFTP:Desktops/320x212x12/sample.png”/>
    I have my image files saved as sample.png. As it has been specified as there is no need for thumb image i.e 7985 will not support, i didnt upload any thumb nail files.
