Cisco 8945 PC Port not workign with Alternate TFTP ON

I have a Cisco 8945 at home (Internet provided via Cable modem), and it had been working just fine. I have now found that the PC port on the phone will not pass data to my PC with Alternate TFTP on.  I know the cabling is all correct, I can actually go into the Cisco phone and DISABLE the alternate TFTP servers on the phone.  When I do that the phone no longer works, but the pass through to the PC network port works and my PC connects to the Internet fine.
Enable the alternate TFTP servers again so my phone works, and my PC LAN adapter now thinks there is no longer a cable plugged into it.
What about the TFTP server being enabled (which is required to get my phone to work of the corporate VOIP switch up in Boston), kills the PC port connectivity on the phone?

  • Usb port not compatable with windows 8

I have a usb port to download  called, CareLink for Medtronic, that will not work with windows 8. What can I do ? I really need this for my husband to use with his insulin pump. The company is waiting on approval from FDA to get approved for windows 8.

Do you mean it is a device that plugs into one of the usb ports of the computer? And there is no driver for Windows 8?
Here is a page I found showing how to download drivers for Windows 7 and Vista. In the vast majority of cases Windows 7 drivers will work with Windows 8 as long as the driver install program is set to run in Windows 7 compatibility mode.
    http://carelink.minimed.com/html/en/US/help/index.html?v477122.htm
Try running the installation in Windows 8. It will likely fail but do not despair. Note where the installation files have been unzipped onto the hard drive. Go into the file where the installation software has been stored. It is likely in a folder in the program files. Open the folder and look for an installation program (.exe). It is likely called setup.exe. Right click on it and choose properties and then compatibility and set the compatibility to Windows 7. You might also need to set it to run as administrator. Once you have it set that way, try running it again by just double clicking setup.exe.
This link also claims to have Windows 8 drivers:

  • Line-in port not working with powered microphone

I'm not sure if this is an issue of me not understanding how line-in ports work or if there is actually something wrong with the line-in port/jack. So, I have a Sony microphone that is powered by one AA battery. The microphone has no problems because I can plug it in to my voice recorder and it works fine. However, when I plug it in to the line-in port of my PB, the PB does not pick up any sound. And yes, I have made sure that in the Sound preferences, I selected input source as "Line-in."
So, does this mean there is something wrong with the port, or does it mean I need to plug my powered microphone into an amplifier which plugs into the PB or....?
    Thanks!
    Conal

    Hi Conal
There's probably nothing wrong with your line-in port - it's just that you've discovered the difference between "line level" signals and "mic level" signals! To put it simply, the output from a microphone (whether it operates on battery power or not) is far too low for a line level input to recognise - hence the reason you are not picking up sound on the PB. (Your voice recorder will be picking up sound because it's operating at mic-level).
The only way around this is to plug your mic into some form of pre-amp and then plug the line level output of the pre-amp into your PB. Personally I use a Tascam US-122 audio/midi interface and run the signals into the PB on USB. Works extremely well but I'm sure you'll be able to find a cheaper alteranative with a little bit of searching.
    Hope this helps.

    Please advise the issue.. thanks..

This could be a compatibility issue. Looking at the feature matrix, 15.1 is CME8.8 and only has support for SCCP42.9-2-1S.loads. Even the latest CME (10.5) only has listed support for 9.2.1 on 7962.
I would try downgrading the phone firmware to 9.2.1 and see if you continue to have the issue.

  • Acer C710 - USB Ports not working with patched kernel

    I have an...
    Acer C710-844G01ii
I have replaced the original SSD with a Mushkin 120GB SSD (MKNSSDCR120GB-7)
I've used John Lewis' script at https://johnlewis.ie to flash the firmware. It works great. It loads 64 bit dual arch iso (2014.10.01) written to a USB flashdrive (Well, I'm actually using SD card in a USB reader. Not sure if that makes a difference) without having to utilize the workaround listed on the Chromebook wiki page (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ch … stallation). I just create a regular arch bootable usb and it seems to work fine. I can use the bootable USB tools. I can install arch to the hard disk fine. (I did this a couple of times on the original SSD that came with the chromebook before I replaced it, so I know it works without having to change the SSD).
The problem I'm having occurs after I install the patched kernel (linux-chromebook-3.16.4-1-x86_64 or linux-mainline-chromebook-3.17-1-x86_64 I've tried them both. Both times I wiped the hard drive and went through the entire install process from scratch). After booting, everything loads up fine except that I lose functionality of my USB ports. The custom BIOS still reads the arch bootable USB if I choose to boot into it. If I boot from the hard drive though, as soon as the patched kernel loads, the USB ports are not working.
    The output of
    dmesg | tail
is the same before and after inserting a flash drive into a usb port.
    Running the command
    lsusb
    gives output
    unable to initialize libusb: -99

Updated the system, now using arch kernel 3.17.1-1
    Problem still exists.

  • USB Ports not working with specific devices

So this one has me scratching my head. My USB ports on the back of my iMac are working except for a few devices. 1 being a logitech USB receiver, and 1 being a usb mp3 player. When I plug the received into the iMac the keyboard won't work, but when I plug my USB hub into the same USB port and the receiver into the hub it works fine. The mp3 player isn't working in any usb/hub (so that's a mook point).
Here's what I've tried to resolve this issue:
    1. Reset iMac
    2. Reset PRAM
    3. Try every usb port on the back of the iMac
None of these have fixed my issue. Plugging it into the hub isn't a huge deal, but I'd like the option to use my USB ports as I wish without having to deal with this. Anyone have advice on a solution?

It is not a matter of using your USB ports as you wish, it is a matter of what you are plugging into them and the power demands that what you plug into them makes on the system.
Not all USB ports or devices are created equal. How many ports are you using? What exactly are you plugging into the ports? What is the power demand of each item that you are plugging into each port? Are any of the USB devices self powered from their own separate power supply? Are all of the devices dependent upon the iMac for power?
It sounds to me that you have too many high power devices demanding more power through the ports than the iMac can accommodate. Is the USB hub self powered? If so, that is probably why it resolves your issue with the Logitech Unified receiver. There is very little info on this device on the Logitech website, so I could not ascertain its power demands.

  • New 2011 MacBook Pro Firewire Port Not Working with Firewire Solo

    Kind of an odd problem:
I'm basically trying to go from my MBP through firewire to a firewire solo audio interface and then from there out to two speakers. (MBP>Firewire Solo>Speakers) The light on the firewire solo turns on when I connect the firewire cable, but when i try to play sound nothing comes out. Yes, I've checked the volume. Yes, I've checked system preferences. It's not the cable, the interface, or the speakers as I've check all these with my old computer and they work fine. Also, I've plugged in the firewire solo to check if it was a power problem -- still no sound. What's going on!?

Could it just be a hardware problem?

  • Cisco Desktop Administrator is not synch with CRS 5.0(2)

I am trying to add a new staff as supervisor in Cisco Desktop Administrator. CRS 5.0(2) is configured and showing him as supervisor.
In Destop Admin I have selected Call Centre1 and setup > Sync Directory service the message appears as"At least one error occured during the sync process". I have restarted CRS servers then Synch again. No luck. One more question: Is there any limitation on Supervisors number? the license hold 3 fold of the current seat numbers. so beleive its not a problem.

    Hi  Nadarajah,

Could you please check any of the CAD\CSD related services are in partial or Out of service in UCCX control center. Please attach the snapshot of the same.
Also please check the logs under the below path, in UCCX box and search for the above message "

  • One of USB ports not working with wireless mouse USB receiver (MBP mid-2009

    Hi,
I've got a weird problem with one of the USB ports (the one next to SD card slot). I use a Logitech VX Nano (wireless) mouse.
When I plug the usb receiver to the USB port, no device can be detected. But when trying the other USB port, all works fine.
I also tried using a usb extension cable with the USB port (problematic one). All works fine again.
The same happens with windows xp pro.
    Any help appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Alex

  • New 2011 MacBook Pro Firewire Port Not Working with Focurite Saffire 24 DSP

The firewire port powers the Saffire 24 alone, and the device shows up in the system profiler, but I can't see it in the Sound devices menu... I have updated all of the Focusrite drivers to version 2.2 so I need to ask this board for solutions.

i am having the same exact problem. However, I've never had a Focusrite Driver installed previously. I just bought the Interface and installed the software. It downloaded the newest version of the software to install.
If it also installed the previous drivers, how would I unistall those?

  • CISCO Box not working with Infrared Remove Control Repeater

There was an Infrared Remote Control Repeater set-up in my newly purchased house.  It works for my LG DVD player, but does not work with my CISCO CHS435HDB box.  Are there any work around for this?  Should I change to a different box?

If you are using a repeater, make sure the piece that is relaying the IR signal is pointing directly the font of the Cisco box and nothing is plugged into the IR input port in the back of the box.

  • Alternate imap ports not working?

I use fastmail as my email provider who has an option to access their servers thru a special proxy, meaning I can access my email from within my work firewall. The settings work ok with the ibismail iphone app (with settings below), but (using the same settings) not with the iphone mail app. It's not just the work firewall, the mail settings don't work over 3g as well, so it must be the settings not the firewall. Has anyone tried to get their iphone working with an alternate port?
    Host Name: imaps-proxy.messagingengine.com
    Authentication = password, Use SSL=Yes, server port = 80

    It looks like:
iPhone (3GS, OS 3.1.3) Mail with IMAP on:
    port 143 (unencrypted): works
    port 993 (ssl): works
    any other port (unencrypted): works
any other port (ssl): DOES NOT WORK!
Moreover it doesn't matter wether the certificate for SSL is self-signed or a "valid" commercial one.
It also is no firewall issue on the server side.
This is really bad as I don't want to open standard IMAP-SSL port on my server but instead use some port > 10000
It also does not work with iPad (OS 3.2) Mail

How do I access websites that warn: "Firefox is NOT compatible with this application. For best performance, please use Internet Explorer 5.0 and above...."? When I try to download any alternate browser, all I get is another warning that the alternate is "not compatible with your operating system." Is Firefox preventing this? The site listed below is a job application site. I've had this same problem with other job application sites also.

There should be a User Agent Switcher menu item under Tools, which gives you the browser names you can impersonate.
The menu item name changes to the browser UA you are presently using.
There is also a User Agent Switcher button, you can add it using View -> Toolbars -> Customize, and dragging the button to your toolbar.
    See http://chrispederick.com/work/user-agent-switcher/features/ and http://chrispederick.com/work/user-agent-switcher/help/
You can just start trying IE versions (or the versions it says on the site) until it lets you in.

  • 20" Cinema display with USB and firewire ports not working

I have a new 20" display and was wondering why my USB and fire wire ports at the back are not working. I have an external drive that is powered hooked up to the fire wire port and a no powered piano keyboard to a usb port.
    Any help please

Verify that the display’s USB and FireWire cables are firmly plugged in to the
computer. Do they show in your profiler?
Try different ports in the computer.
Verify that your computer ports are working with other known problem free device.
