Cisco 9951 and cucme registration problem

Hi Everybody
I am trying to register a cisco 9951 phone to a cucme. The phone was previosly connected and registered to a cucm 9.1, now it must be registered in the cucme. The problem is that the status messages of the phone show that the phone has 9.3(2) firmware version and the cucme has 9.2(1) sip9951.9-2-2SR1-9.loads. It means that the phone has a higher version than the version in the router flash (cucme).
I tryed tod download a newer cucme file-set but the last version available in cisco.com is the 10.0 and it has the sip9951.9-2-2SR1-9.loads file which is still older than the version in the phone. So the phone doesnt register.
I follow step by step the instructions to configure and register ip sip phones to cucme. but I am stock.
here is the configuration:voice register global
 mode cme
 source-address X.X.6.54 port 5060

the status mesages on the phone say:
Upgrade rejected: HW compat failure. Must use 9.3(2) or later release on this phone
Error updating locale
It still shows:
File not found United_States/g4tones.xml
File not found SIP_English_United_States/ik-sip.jar
Those files tha the phone doesnt find are in the cucm 9.1. I tryed to put them in the flash and configured the tftp-server command and I also downloaded the 9.3(2) from the cucm and copied to the router flash, but it still has registrations problems.
I also tryed to reset the phone to the factory defaults but this sequence with # key and 123456789*0# doesnt aply to sip phones and the procedure of the following link still doesnt work:

  • Cisco Valet and Apple TV2 problem.

I just installed a new Cisco Valet router, and though my lap and desktops work fine, I'm unable to get past the "setting time and date" notification when trying to wirelessly connect my Appletv. I tried rebooting the module, but even after waiting considerable time, I simply end up with the screensaver. Any suggestions would be appreciated from this new member

What is the answer to that problem? I have a cisco router and have the same issue. Thanks

  • Configuring wired 802.1x with Cisco 2950 and NPS 2012 problem

    Hi,
I am trying to setup wired authentication on my corporate network. For testing purposes, I have setup a Cisco 2950 switch for RADIUS authentication.
On the first day of the test, access messages were appearing on the event log of the 2012 Server and  we were trying to address the issues with EAP and policy.(Network Policy and Access services)
Then, suddenly no events are written to the event log for the wired authentication. Accounting data is written to the log file at c:\windows\system32\logfiles, but nothing happens on the event log as if the NPS is not answering. We are using the same server for wireless 802.1x and all is working fine.
Checking the wired autoconfig log on the client, Restart Reason : Onex Auth Timeout appears.
    Logging seems to be configured properly, there are no entries in event log. Below is the debug information from the 2950 switch;

  • CTSMan 1.9.1 and CUCM 8.6.2 sync problems Error 502407

    Hi,
I ran into recent problem synchronizing CUCM 8.6.2(b) into CTSman 1.9.1
CTSMan is getting an Error message: 502407
    Details
    ID:
    502407
    Severity:
    critical
    Module:
    DiscoveryMgr
    SubModule:
    CTIAdapter
    Summary:
    Communication to Unified CM failure
    Recommendation:
Verify CCM App User credentials. Verify CTIManager service is activated on the primary application server.
    Message:
Unable to create CTI adapter to Unified CM 'CUCM-xxx' because Provider is null.
I researched this earlier in CTSman admin guides, and this error points to CUCM CTI Manager service to be restarted.  I did restart this as well as other services, including CUCM hardware itself and, but in vain.
Among other things, i followed the CUCM/CTSman guides when bringing CUCM into CTSman to: created an application user account within CUCM and allocate a proper permissions/user groups etc... it was done.
Among other things there are other servers like Exchange being synchronized with it ( had problems with it earlier that dealt with certificates, it was corrected.).
Can anyone help with this issue.
    Responses will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Thanks Manish again for this.
I did get few MediaReosurceListExhausted events from RTMT alerts but was not paying much attention to them. Location bandwidth settings have been checked and increased a bit for sites which were repeatedly getting these events. I will monitor to see if that reduces these alerts. Could you please advise how I can verify it is hitting the maximum limit?
I have also raised this with Cisco TAC and some cores were found on the CUC subscriber server. We seemed to have run into a bug according to Cisco TAC as in here https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCug61581/?reffering_site=dumpcr and both CUC servers have been upgraded to 8_6_2_24901_1. It has fixed cores and we are now monitoring the voicemail service for few days to see if it will reoccur.

  • ELM 9.1 and CUCM 9.1 Registration Conflict

    Hi,
Have a standalone ELM server and a CUCM 9.1.1a cluster registering to it that has been working fine for a few months.
A few days ago the CPU was pegging on the ELM server (hostagt process) and I could not restart that process individually, and I did a graceful restart of the ELM server (utils system restart) and it came back up and everything was fine.
Now a few days later, I get alert from CUCM that the ELM sync has not worked for past 7 days and there are 53 days remaining.
On the ELM server, under Product Instancxes the CUCM has a Registration Conflict error and says it is managed by another ELM server. There is only one ELM server. The CUCM license page says it is managed by this ELM server that is complaining.
I've restarrted the ELM server with no change, and I tried to restart the ELM Client on the CUCM server without change.
Do I need to delete the CUCM product instance from the ELM server and add it back?
Is there something hung up on the CUCM server and I need to restart other services on it?  I am not seeing much in the logs on either server.
Both ELM and CUCM are version 9.1.1a.
    Thanks

    Hi there,
    Could be this perhaps;
Symptom: Product Instance registration fails with an error that the product instance is already managed by ELM.
Resolution: Log into the CLI of the product you are trying to add, and run the command license client reset registration which will clear its previous register with ELM.

    Cheers!

  • EAP-TLS problems with Cisco AP541N and Server 2008 NPS

    Hi,
I want to use EAP-TLS with my shiny new certificates issued by my new Windows CA, and what happens? Nothing works.
I don't have a clue what I should do. I try to establish a EAP-TLS connection using my Windows CE mobile device, but my cisco AP541N logs this:
    Oct 18 15:42:58
    info
    hostapd
wlan0: STA 00:17:23:xx:xx:xx IEEE 802.1X: Supplicant used different EAP type: 3 (Nak)
    Oct 18 15:42:58
    warn
    hostapd
wlan0: STA 00:17:23:xx:xx:xx IEEE 802.1X: authentication failed - identity 'XXXXXX' EAP type: 13 (TLS)
    Oct 18 15:42:58
    info
    hostapd
The wireless client with MAC address 00:17:23:xx:xx:xx had an authentication failure.
    NPS logs this:
Name der Verbindungsanforderungsrichtlinie: Sichere Drahtlosverbindungen 2
    Netzwerkrichtlinienname: XXXXXX
    Authentifizierungsanbieter: Windows
    Authentifizierungsserver: XXXXX
    Authentifizierungstyp: EAP
    EAP-Typ: -
    Kontositzungs-ID: -
I'm sorry it's german, but the gist is: The server can't process the authentication with the specified EAP type, which should be EAP-TLS.
I think the NAK answer in my cisco AP logs is the problem. Well, not the problem, since it is the standard procedure in the EAP request / challenge, I think, but somebody messes up with it.
Did anybody encounter something like this before? Or just knows what to do?
    Thanks in advance
    Lenni

    Joe:
Having NPS, you have the options to configure PEAP-MSCHAPv2 or EAP-TLS.
EAP-TLS: mandates a certificate on the server as well as a certificate on every single machine for authentication purposes.
PEAP-MSCHAPv2: mandates a certificate on the server only. Users connecting to the wireless network must trust the certificate (or, user devices can be configured to escape this trust and connect even if the server cert is not trusted).
    for PEAP-MSCHAPv2, Your options are:
    - Buy a certificate for the server from a trusted party (Verisign for example [which was bought later by Symantec]). This way all devices will - by default - trust the server's cert.
    - Install local CA. Install a cert on the server and then push the root CA cert for your CA to all client device so they trust this issuer.
    - If both up options are not valid for you, what you can do is to configure every single client to ignore the untrusted cert and proceed with the connectoin. (This is a security concern though. not recommended unless really needed).
You must get a cert on the server and all clients must trust that certificate's issuer. Otherwise you'll not be able to user PEAP.

  • Cisco BE6k with CUCM 10.X integration with Siemens with Hipath 3350 and 3550

    Dear Experts;
We have one requirment from customer.
They have 4 branches with Siemens Hipath 3350 and 3550  PBX and they want to integrate with cisco CUCM 10.x.
The Head Quater with complete CUCM as IPT and branches with with Hipath 3350 and 3550  PBX.
CIsco TAC says interoperability doc is not available and also I can see tehre is no doc.
    TAC Reply  As below.
We do not have any documents about CUCM integration with Hipath 3350 and 3550 on our interoperability portal. This means that their integration with CUCM was never properly tested. So we can not confirm that all features will be working. But from CUCM perspective this is third-party device that can be integrated using SIP or ISDN (with Voice Gateway between them).
    Link for interoperability portal:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/enterprise/interoperability-portal/networking_solutions_products_genericcontent0900aecd805b561d.html#callmgr10
    Regards
    Debashis

If the Siemens supports SIP or H323 you can attempt to simply create a trunk between the systems and route calls via it.  If IP integration is not an option then as pointed by TAC integrate via PRI circuit (preferably QSIG). From CUCM side it will be just another GW, similarly from Siemens side.  You'll need to select which side is going to be ISDN network (I always use Cisco side) and then make the other side user.

  • Cisco ip phone 9971 registration failed with CME 8.6 on WAN

    Dear  Sir
    Subject: Cisco ip
    phone  9971 registration failed
    with CME 8.6 on WAN
I have a WAN  simulation with one Cisco2811 router one Cisco1841 router (connected with fast  Ethernet interface) plus one layer 2  switch.
I upgraded the 2811 IOS to 15.4M and installed CME8.6, when we tried  to add 9971 sip phone If the traffic goes throw LAN (Same subnet- directly from  switch to 2811) everything is fine and the SIP phone (9971) added with no  problem but when I change the subnet and traffic goes throw WAN
( from 1841  routed to 2811 with default route) my phone didn't register.
It will be great  if anybody could help!!
If you can solve my problem, I will be happy to  compensate.

Try binding SIP to an interface on which Phone can reach (Use "voice service voip" "sip" and then bind)

  • CUEAC 9.1.1.10 and CUCM 7.1(5) 64 bit TSP Plugin

    Hello,
I have a customer with CUCM 7.1(5) who has purchased CUEAC 9.1.1.10 and wants to run it on Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit).
According to the data sheet this should be supported but when I go through the CUEAC server installation process it tries to download the 64 bit TSP plugin from the CUCM server.
This is a problem as CUCM 7.1(5) does not have the 64 bit TSP plugin - it only has the 32 bit version.
The exact message I get is
Error occured while downloading Cisco TSP.
    Path: https://10.80.20.12/plugins/CiscoTSPx64.exe
I have obtained the 64 bit TSP from a later CUCM and done a manual installation hoping that the installer would see the TSP is already installed and skip the step but it does not do so.
Can anyone suggest how to resolve this?
I know I could use a 32 bit version of Windows Server or upgrade CUCM but these options are not available.
    Thanks

    Update
I built a CUCM 9.x server as a virtual machine and integrated CUEAC with that. The 64 bit TSP downloaded and installed ok and I was hoping that I could then reconfigure the TSP CTI manager addresses and the CUEAC CUCM server to point to the version 7.1 CUCM server.
Unfortunately this did not work as I got a message complaining about version incompatibilities between the CUEAC server and CUCM.
I do not think there is any workaround for running CUCM 7.1 with CUEAC on a 64 bit Windows Server.
Luckily for me the customer found an old Windows 2003 32 bit server that they used to run Cisco ACS on. CUEAC installed without a hitch on this server and is running fine.
If anyone manages to get this working I would be interested to know how.
Lesson here is do not believe Cisco data sheets

  • Polycom MCU registration problem

I'm installing a small H.323 network which uses the gatekeeper included in IOS H.323 version 12.3 (it is in a Cisco 2610XM)
I have a MCU which is contained in an Polycom iPower 9800. This equipment is a video terminal too. Ihave other video terminals and a H.320-H.323 gateway.
The gatekeeper register all video terminals and the gateway, but it can't register the MCU and then I can't use it.
I have done an h225 asn1 debug and I got:
    02:20:48: RAS OUTGOING PDU ::=
    value RasMessage ::= registrationReject :
    requestSeqNum 8
    protocolIdentifier { 0 0 8 2250 0 4 }
    rejectReason invalidAlias : NULL
    gatekeeperIdentifier {"GK_UTE"}
I have followed the instructions provided in "gk-reg-issues.pdf" cisco public document, but the problem remains.
    Please help me.

    There might be several reasons...
One most probable reason is your MCU might be trying to register with multiple h323 id's and that is what is causing the problem. This MCU should only register with one h323 id, and it is possible to configure zone prefizes or gw-type prefixes to route the particular prefixes to that gateway.
Second probable reason is MCU registration entry is predefined at gatekeeper. Delete it and try to register. Another possible solution is set mode of MCU to GW, then reset it and try to register.

  • Cisco 9951

    Hello,
    I have cisco  9951.
when i enable video capabilities in the CUCM the strange phenomenos oocur :
1.The phone takes time dial sometime can't dial at all.
Other phones in the same type without video capabilities works fine.
    any idea?

Try adding the following to the PRI voice port on the GW:
     bearer-cap Speech
If that does not help restrict video bandwidth between the GW/Trunk the PRI is on and the phone via Location configuration in CUCM.

  • Cisco Jabber and Voicemail

    Hi
I have CUPS, CUC and CUCM in HQ. And rest of my Branches have SRST routers which have local cisco unity express for voicemail;s but ip phone numbers are from cucm in hq.
Now HQ users get to see their voicemail messages in their Windows Jabber, but branch users dont get to see their voicemail on windows jabber.
Although voice mail ports are configured on cucm for branch cisco unity express, and voice mail works fine for branches but how do we integrate cisco unity express with presence server.
Now on cucm, under user management-> user setting->service profile, only profiles which are there are for cisoc unity connection.
Can somebody tell me how do we get voicemail of cisco unity express users on windows jabber.
    Thanks and regards
    Vibha

    Hi Vibha,
Unity express is not supported for voicemail integration for jabber. You can refer the below:

  • Routing issue between Cisco Nexus and Cisco 4510 R+E Chassis

We have configured Cisco Nexus 7K9 as core and Cisco 4510 R+E as access switches for Server connectivity.
We are experiencing problem in terms of ARP learning and Ping issues between Cisco Nexus and end hosts.

    Hi,
So you have N7k acting as L3 with servers connected to 4510?.
Do you see the MAC associated with failing ARP in 4510?. Is it happening with all or few servers?. Just to verify if it is connectivity issue between N7k and 4510, you can configure an SVI on 4510 and assign address from same raneg (server/core range) and perform a ping.
This will help narrow down if issue is between server to 4510 or 4510 to N7k.
    Thanks,

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 and CUCM 9.1.2 - Exch not recognizing called extension

I think I'm almost there in getting Exchange 2013 SP1 UM working with CUCM 9.1.2...I've got two issues at the moment that I need a little help with.
    1) When I dial my VM pilot (6040) from a UM enabled extension it prompts to enter an extension. When I dial the same extension and let it ring to VM, Exchange picks up and says "the person you are trying to reach does not have a valid voice mail box
    on our system".
    2) This just started happening this afternoon, when I dial my VM pilot (6040) exch3 picks up as thats what I have my route pattern pointing to. If I enter the extension of a mailbox on exch2, I get stuck in a endless loop.
I've followed this post as a guide but it hasn't resolved my issue.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11914031/exchange-2013-um-and-cucm-86
My Exchange environment looks like this:
    Site 1:
exch1 - CAS/Mailbox, used for mainly utility type work, journal, dedicated SMTP flows etc
    exch2 - CAS/Mailbox, part DAG13
    exch3 - CAS/Mailbox, part of DAG13
    Site 2:
    exch2dr - CAS/Mailbox, part of DAG13
    exch3dr - CAS/Mailbox, part of DAG13
DAG13 is stretched between two sites, there are no users at our DR site so CUCM is pointing to Site 1 for UM. Each site has an internet facing CAS-only server for OWA/EAS etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I'd love to get rid of Unity.
    EDIT:
I just found this event in the event logs:
The Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging service on the Mailbox server received a diverted call with ID "d51600-3a3140c5-9b8-c1414ac@EXCH3-IPADDR" for extension "4099" on UM dial plan "CUCM" from UM IP gateway "CUCM IP",
but no UM-enabled mailbox for the corresponding extension could be found. Please check the extension and make sure that the corresponding mailbox is enabled for UM and associated with the correct UM dial plan.

9.1.2 I think it is, we upgraded to avoid the known DNS bug
I cant see how to PM you either
The crux of it was outlined below with some tweaks
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2014/04/30/step-by-step-integration-between-exchange-2013-um-and-cisco-unified-communication-manager.aspx
As we have multiple combined role servers, our trunks are set up as follows:
    1. 1 x CAS Trunk - contains all CAS Servers on port 5060
    2. 4 x MBX Trunks - contains Maibox Server with ports 5062-5068
On top of that, we had to Allow "Redirecting Diversion Header Delivery - Inbound (and Outbound)" on the CAS Trunk but DISABLE it on the Mailbox Trunks
Also, make sure that you are using Telephone Extension Dial plans in Exchange 2013 (Despite them being unable to be associated with a 13 Server - EX13 answers for all calls anyway)
Lastly, the MS documentation is a little strange - it says that as your last step of UM migration, you should point your Call Manager to 2013 - I don't agree with that statement, EX13 routes calls back to 2010 UM Servers perfectly fine, so treat it the same
as any other CAS based service - point to 2013, and it will handle the rest
