Cisco 9971 "not registered" after Reset on CUCM 9.1

we are experiencing a strange problem with 9971 phones:
We have two CUCM 9.1 clusters
Our production-cluster: Publisher, 3 Subscribers, dedicated TFTP, Unity Connection, CUPS
and our Lab environmant: Publisher, 1 Subscriber, TFTP on Publisher, Unity Connection, CUPS
In our production environment, 9971 phones work fine
In our lab environment, 9971 also work fine at first, but after some hours, sometimes days, or after a phone is resettet manually via CUCM administration the phone won't register anymore. After the phone is rebooted, the display briefly shows the correct directory number and line but they disappear immediatley and the phone is stuck with "Phone not registered" after that. The only way I can get the phone to register again after that is to completely reset all settings on the phone.
Both clusters are located within the same subnet, as well as the phones use the same voice vlan (manual tftp setting in both cases). It doesn't seem to be a network-related issue.
I have tested the same devices with both clusters, so the devices themselves seem to work properly too.
Has anyone experienced this sort of problem before? Any help would be appreciated.

Also,  I have captured some Wireshark Traces. I took  one phone that was  registered and sent a reset request from the CUCM  Web-Interface. The  phone then rebooted and got stuck with "Phone not  registered" as I  described in my first post.
I unplugged the LAN  cable, put it  back in and captured what happened while the phone tried  to register  using a Span port at my access switch. You can find the pcap file attached to the first post.

  • Cisco 9971 Not Registering on CUCM 8.6

    Hey,
    Ive run into some trouble with a 9971 phone running on CUCM 8.6. The phone has been registered with the server before with its settings locked down so the access to the settings menu via the phone has been disabled. Around a few weeks later the CUCM server ran into some problems and had to be restored. Since then I am unable to get the phone to register back with the CUCM server. i get the rejected message in the phones tab. and the message Telephony service unavaliable on the phone itself.
    I would factory reset the phone however as the settings were locked out from before i am unable to get into the menu and dont know another way to reset the phone, the method used with previous models (turn on hold # then press 1234...etc) does not work.
    Any help would be appricated.

    Anyone got to solve this problem? I have it on multiple 9951 phones, the factory reset process does not work as the phone apparently ignores that you are pressing the # button... As per the below link:

    In my situation this never happen, the line buttons turn on green and after that they all turn off and the phones displays "Phone not registered"

    If you reset to factory that is expected behavior.  You need to connect to iTunes to bring it into the Apple World.  You should then be able to connect to the network of your cell provider.

    I recently upgraded LabVIEW 2012 from 32-bit to 64-bit.  Now I'm getting an error that says "Class not Registered".  It still works just fine with the 32-bit version. 

    Thank you Nathan and Sunshine.  The problem is I didn't build the program - it came with the instrument.  As far as I can tell this is what's going on:  The vi's are replete with these activeX objects - all communication with the instruments is done through invoke and property nodes.  After switching to 64-bit the very first sub vi has an error at the very first command (Err (-2147221164)). It's a reference (seemingly to a class but I actually have no idea what that means) passed to the "Open Automation Function".  I'll attach a screen shot for the sake of overkill.

  • Apps not working after reset

    I had to reset my iphone and after resetting it, holding down the power and home keys until the apple showed up none of my apps will work. The app screen will come up for a second or two and then it switches back to my home screen. Any remedies for this?

    If only 3 apps, try deleting and re-installing the apps first.
    Restoring your iPhone with iTunes is selected under the Summary tab for your iPhone sync preferences.

    After an iPhone is restored from the backup or as a new iPhone or not from the backup, this must be followed by a sync.
    Before restoring an iPhone, sync your iPhone immediately before doing so to update your iPhone's backup if needed.

    *btw I do get IP addresses and TFTP address from the Router. When I do 'show ip dchp binding' I can see the IP address leased from the DCHP.

  • Not Register after Self Registration in Portal

    Hi everybody,
    We are using the self registration functionality, but we don´t want to register after registration. We want that the self registration sends the e-mail with an auto generated password, and after the user checks the mail and know the password, he login to the portal.
    Is this possible?

    what do u mean by we dont want to register after registrations...
    The email thing can easily be done either from you SAP R3 system configurations or else configure SMTP in you EP landscape.
    in sys admin you need to give the settings and path to you smtp server.

  • Cisco APs not updating after WLC-update

    Hello everyone,
    I need to update my 5508 WLCs to a newer software, to support new AP-models.
    Started with AIR-CT5500-K9-1-7-0-0-FUS.aes and AIR-CT5500-K9-7-0-240-0.aes, everything worked fine. Pre-Downloaded the newer Image to the APs, restarted the WLCs and everything was ok.
    Now I tried to update to 7.6.100.0 as well as 7.4.121.0. Both Versions should support my APs, but it doesn't work at all.
    Any ideas are highly appreciated.

    I am not trying to pre-download it anymore, since this doesn't work at all.
    If I just restart the controller, the APs are downloading the image telling me "everything is fine", are rebooted and that stated with the old image again.

    I have an access to the database Sharepoint_Config from current domain user and from other 2 users. All users have db_owner rights to the Sharepoint_Config database. But

    Please help me. I don't understand why the script is launched from the sharepoint management shell but doesn't work from the cmd file.

    I have an answer for my problem:  for solving a problem I've made several steps:
    1. Run farm installation under AD admin credentials - runas /user:Domain1\DomainAdmin1 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN\psconfigui.exe".
    This user has been added as farm administrator in the wizard.
    This user has been added as DBO in the SQL Server. (This is the main difference with my previous attempts)
    2. Execute a command Add-SPShellAdmin Domain1\UserAccount1 in
    the Management Shell of Sharepoint.
    3. Run SQL server and add Sharepoint_Shell_Access to the Domain1\UserAccount1
    (my main account) in the Config database
    4. Run CMD file only from Start->Run menu. 
    runas /user:Domain1\UserAccount1 "C:\1.cmd".
    Do not use Total Commander command prompt or file list for executing *.cmd of *.bat files without root administrator account.

  • Applications not working after resetting macbook from external hard drive

    I installed Snowleopard a few weeks ago.  Everything was working fine, though a bit slow for a while, I figured it was just because I have had the computer for a while, but about a week ago it shut down and wouldn't restart.  It would go to the login page where i would type in my password but wouldnt log in to my desktop.  I did what apple suggested on their website and reset everything and restored my computer settings from the time machine backup on my external hard drive and reinstalled snow leopard with the install dvd.  Everything was seemingly back to normal, but now most of my applications are not functioning correctly.  I can't use isight with skype (though it works with photobooth), I can't import photos from my camera to iphoto, imovie won't even open (displays "imovie quit unexpectedly" and other things of this nature.
    Since seeing that multiple applications are not functioning correctly, I kind of figure that its not an isolated problem with just one application but maybe something wrong with my OS since I reinstalled it?  I've tried resetting my PRAM and NVRAM but that hasn't made any noticeable change at all.
    I'm about ready to give up and take it in somewhere to be looked at unless someone can give me some good advice on how I can fix it myself?  All suggestions appreciated.

    I realize this post is from quite some time ago, but it showed up as relevant in my own search to resolve this problem. So hopefully my answer will be equally visible and thus helpful.
    Select the movie file within iTunes (not the actual file(s) in the finder) and drag it to the desired location on your external hard drive. While doing so, you'll notice an indicator showing that you're in fact moving two files: the movie (m4v) file and the associated Extras (ite) file.
    The first time I attempted this process, I selected the files within the Finder and dragged them to the external hard drive. I was able to play the movie itself from this location, but the Extras wouldn't play. After spending a considerable amount of time searching for a solution I tried the afore mentioned and it worked.
    No promises, but hopefully this will work for some of you out there and save you some time and frustration.

  • In built dictionary not available after resetting iphone 4

    The in-built dictionary on my iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.3 has disappeared unexpectedly. It was running perfectly fine but it disappeared i think after i reset my phone. i cannot fint the "define" option in Safari or in Notes. It does appear in iBooks but the dictionary page says "no definitions found".
    how can I download the dictionary? please help me as i read books an my iPhone a lot and really need the dictionary!

    Siri is not available on the iPhone for because Apple didn't make it so.  None of us users here know the reason; speculation is prohibited by the Terms of Use of this forum.
    Regardless of the reason, it is NOT available except for the iPhone 4S.  If you want Siri badly enough, get a 4S.  Complaining doesn't change anything, and none of us here really want to listen to it anyway.

  • Iphone not starting after reset

    i have one iphone 3. i choose reset all settings option to remove the numbers, names and other stuff. it said, iphone will take one hour. after doing this, apple sign is continuously on my screen. even i press home and top buttom for minutes, it didnt switch off. its choosing to switch-off with a bling by its own but then immediately apple icon appears. i tried to reconnent it through itunes but nothing worked. even holding the home screen and attaching the cable. many other ways to rectify it but all waste... its not even charging. it shows red mark (battery out) often. trying to figurew out the restoration but nothing helping. could u guys plz help me with this. thanks.

    Sounds like the Activation Lock is still set to the previous owner. If you are unable to get that Apple ID and password that iPhone is totally useless to you.
    Take it back to the shop and demand your money back because they sold it to under false pretenses.

    I'm sorry, but you are not addressing Apple here. The people on this forum are users just like yourself that take the time to volunteer to try and answer technical questions from other users.
    Your question is somewhat confusing, but I believe I understand that you are having connection problems and they are corrected by you resetting the network, however they return. Am I correct in this assumption?
    If this is correct and you have followed other user troubleshooting procedures, such as powering the phone off/on, reset and restore, then I suggest you make contact with your carrier as there may be an issue with your SIM card. If that is not the problem, the only other recourse after exhausting the troubleshooting is to make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the phone checked for any hardware failures.

  • Radio buttons not working after resetting

    I have a form with two radio buttons for each question.  Each question is in its own frame "Q1," "Q2," etc.  I also have a btn_Reset created to reset the form, i.e. reset all radio buttons and return to "Q1" frame.  All buttons work as they should, including resetting the radio buttons, however, once I reset the radio buttons and return to "Q1" to start over, the actions associated with each radio button upon clicking on them do not work.  Here's my code:

  • "1" key still not working after reset

    I posted a while ago about my 1 key not working on my laptop (iBook G3 800MHz)or an external keyboard. I was advised to try resetting PRAM and then PMU. I finally did both with some help and the process did not fix the "1" key. I am only able to type a "1" by using the num lock key on the laptop or the 10-key pad on the external keyboard.
    Does anyone have any more suggestions as to how I can try to fix this problem?

    P.S. A friend of mine told me to hide the keyboard .plist from the preferences library but there was no such plist. Is this a difference between 10.3.9 and the new 4.0 OSX? I saw the keyboard .plist on her machine but when I got home I didn't have one.

    Open the Speech pane of System Preferences and check whether either the speech key or the listening key has become set to that keystroke; if so, change the setting.
