Hi,
AFAIK you do not have the option to download ACS Recovery DVD from cisco.com. You can contact Cisco TAC and they can publish the software for you.

  • Cisco ACS 4.x Password Recovery

I inherited a ACS server, but I don't have the admin password. Does anyone know of a password recovery technique ?

If it is running acs ver 4.0 on windows, then it is not possible. With ACS v4.0 all the configurations have been shifted from registry to a database file thus increasing the security in ACS. So as of now there is no way to recover the lost Admin password in ACS v4.0, cause no setting is in registry, all settings are in SQL database.
So need to reimage it ...
If it is acs windows 3.3.4 or below then you need to make registry change,
login to ACS machine as administrator..
Go to start ===> run ===> regedit
Click on HKEYLOCAL machine ===> software ===> cisco
===>CiscoAAAv3.2===>CSAdmin===> and delete all administrative users defined by
right clicking into the administraor folder.
Now login locally to ACS and it should not prompt you for password.
For a best practice make sure that you have Allow automatic login is checked
This will not prompt you for password if you are logging in locally from ACS mahcine.
If it is appliance then you need to use recovery cd to reset admin password.

  • Cisco 1113 ACS 4.2 1113 configure auth. for Infoblox appl.

    Hi there,
I have an issue with Cisco ACS and an Infoblox appliance. We want to authenticate users, that login on the Infoblox, via the Cisco ACS. After that the ACS should reply with a passed (RADIUS) authentication and reply with an administrative groupname that the user belongs on the Infoblox. To do this I have to import a VSA to have the option in the ACS to reply with this groupname. On the Infoblox these groups are allready made and this must match the group that the ACS replies.
Now I have imported the VSA and configured an AAA client (infoblox) to use the new RADIUS (VSA) to support the Infoblox. In the groupsetting I've turned on the Infoblox-Group_info  attribute and filled in a specific groupname that the authenticated user belongs to. Now here comes the part where the group info is returned, but the Infoblox Appliance gives me a RADIUS error reply message. As I can see in the logs of the ACS the authentication part of the user is fine. So it has to be between the info that the ACS replies with, when the user logs in.
I've attach the VSA and a *.pcap of wireshark to see what's going on.
Can anyone advice of suggest any option that can make this thing work.
    With regards,
    Richard Gosen

    Halijenn,
Unfortunatly the above solution doesn't do the trick. When I delete the imported VSA, via the attached *.csv, the Infoblox attributes still shows up when I re-add the Infoblox appliance to a network device group en there choose "Radius (Infoblox)" for the authentication. After deleting the VSA I have restarted the ACS SE. The returned acknowledgment from the ACS still presents a malformed packet. When I uncheck the checkbox of the "RADIUS (Infoblox)" attribute in the group settings, then it shows no malformed packet, but no group information is sent either.
Again I have imported the original accountsAction.csv and restarted the SE, but it still returns malformed packets.
    Any other possibilities?
    Kind regards,
    Richard Gosen

  • Cisco ACS Engine appliance 1120 software upgrade

I want to upgrade my Cisco ACS Engine appliance 1120 from software version 3.3 to the latest version (5.x). How do I go about this? Someone should help please.

It is highly suspicious that you would have a 1120 appliance that is running 3.3
ACS 3.3 was with the ACS solution engine 1111, 1112 and 1113.
ACS 5 requires the appliance 1120/1121 so it requires an appliance change. I'm puzzled about how you could be running 3.3 for 1120 since there is no installation DVD for that.
As a general thing, one has to follow the ACS 5 migration guide on cisco.com that explains the process quite well. You need to go to acs 4.1/4.2 to migrate to 5.

  • Windows Update for Cisco ACS appliance

Due to the recent security alert from Windows I wish to make sure my systems are updated, but the cisco ACS appiance (cisco 1113) runs a specialized version of win2k with console access disabled. Is there any way get the windows critical security updates, and do I need to?

If the patch is necessary on acs appliance then they will be releasing it soon.
As of now we can't apply any windows patch on appliance.

  • Satellite U400-183 - Need Recovery DVD and AHCI drivers

    Hi there,
I tried to reinstall Win Vista Home Premium to my Satellite U400-183. I used a Win OS DVD that came with my other Notebook from an other manufacture and the Key which came with my Toshiba notebook. Everything worked just fine but in certain areas of Windows still are some specific settings from the other manufacture. Now is there a possibility to get a Windows Vista DVD from Toshiba?
Another question is where I can get the AHCI drivers. There is only a exe file on the support site which i can't use while installing Windows. There have to be these .sys files but I can't find them on the Toshiba site, so I had to install Windows in compatibility mode.
    THX in advance!
PS: Sorry for my bad english, I'm from Germany...

    Hi!
A new recovery DVD you can get from your local ASP (authorized service provider).
Or you order a DVD from Toshiba directly:
    https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx
The AHCI drivers or lets say Intel Storage Manager you can download from the Toshiba website as you already said.
The .exe file you must extract to use it during the installation but with the recovery disk you dont need them.
Please read the readme file in from the Storage Manager, there is an example how to extract it. Use he command line
    For example: -A -A -PC:\<path>

  • Satellite U400 Impossible to create recovery DVD with Recovery disc creator

    Hi,
I have a Satellite U400 (few years old), and I never created the recovery DVD.
Now I want to do it, but for some reasons, when I launch Toshiba recovery disc creator, nothing happens...
The partition with the recovery files is there, as well as the folder HDDRecovery. I did add some files to this partition, could this be the problem ?
    Thanks for your help.

It is big problem now if the Toshiba tool cannot find the files.
How it works you can read on http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=140985
    Check it out please.
What you can try now is to check if HDD recovery installation will start - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm but Im afraid the same problem will occurs again.
To be honest you should install Win7 32bit on this small Satellite notebook. It works perfectly. Forget original Vista OS, Win7 works better.

  • VPN client and Cisco ACS

    hi,
I'm trying to setup a VPN solution, connecting to a 800 series router and authenticating off a Cisco ACS tacacs server.
I've basically followed the suggested config at http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/tech/tk59/technologies_configuration_example09186a00800a393b.shtml and the setup works fine if I use local authentication, but as soon as I switch to using TACACS the client authentication fails.
Debugging tacacs on the router i can see the requests being sent to the server, and the replies coming back - the login detail are definitely correct so I'm guessing that TACACS isn't authorising me to use VPN or IPSEC or something. But there is nothing in the ACS logs to suggest why I'm not getting through - no failed attempts are shown.
    Any ideas?

here is some debug from the router:

"AUTHEN/REPLY status:5" is a permanent fail according to the TACACS RFC
In the VPN Client log it say "User does not provide any authentication data"
    So to summarise:
-Same ACS server\router\username combination works fine for telnet access.
-VPN works fine with local authentication.
-No login failures showing in the ACS logs.

  • How can I boot from my recovery dvd to reach the system recovery C: on a extern hard disc

I think a have a virus in my notebook Pavilion 15 and want to restore my C partition with a system back up. I made this system back up a month ago and it is stored on a extern hard disc. I have also made a recovery dvd. How can I boot my notebook from my dvd to start the procedure? I have 2 partions on my notebook. The second partition contains My Documents.
    Thanks in advance.

It is unlikely that the back-up of the system recovery, that you have stored on an external drive, will be useful in recovering your computer. Please see HP PCs - Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8), for instructions on using the HP Recovery Disc set your created earlier. Typically, the disc set is 4 to 6 DVDs.

  • How to repair corrupted xp files with the Toshiba recovery dvd pkg

Hello all, my Satellite a105-s4054 has some corrupted xp os files.  Please advise on how to repair only these files using the recovery dvd pks included with my sytem.  I would rather not have to do a complete format and install.   And it is now obvious which of the individual files listed should be replaced to repair the corrupted files.
Is there  way to just replace the corrupted files?
    Thank you

  • Can't figure out what is wrong with recovery DVDs

Last year, right after turning my laptop ON, I've created 4 DVDs as such: http://i56.tinypic.com/6i79rn.jpg
    Recovery DVD Disk 1
    Recovery DVD Disk 2
    Recovery DVD Disk 3
    Windows Recovery Environment 64-bit
My Laptop is Qosmio F60-14R, with Windows 7 Home Premium.
Now all I want to do is format my laptop and re-install windows 7 Home premium using those 4 DVDs. However I can't figure out why I cannot re-install or get the laptop back to the factory state.
This have wasted 8 hours straight of my time and frustrated me by great deal. Can you kindly tell me what I have to do? I am lost!

Here is what I have done so far:
I inserted 'Windows Recovery Environment (64-bit)' DVD and booted the laptop from it.
First thing that loads up is a window with two options:
    - Toshiba Recovery Wizard
    - System Recovery Options
Taking Toshiba Recovery Wizard as choice, clicking Next.
It asks me: "Please set 1st Recovery Media and press Next to Continue.
So, I insert Recovery DVD 1 and then click Next. However it ejects the disc drive (seems Recovery DVD 1 is not the correct Disk!).
So I repeat the same process with Recovery DVD 2 and Recovery DVD 3 and again the Disk Drive ejects the Disks.... As a desperation attempt I even put the Windows Recovery Environment Disk inside but that as well get ejected.
Okay, so the Toshiba Recovery Wizard is not the right choice 'it seems'.
So, I restart the laptop and inserted 'Windows Recovery Environment (64-bit)' DVD and booted the laptop from it.
First thing that loads up is a window with two options: (First choice failed, now trying second choice)
    - --Toshiba Recovery Wizard--
    - System Recovery Options
So, choosing System Recovery Options this time and clicking Next. I Choose US as Keyboard, then click Next. A small window appears which gives me two further options:
    - Use Recovery tools that can help fix problems starting Windows. Select an Operating System to repair.
    - Restore your computer using a system image that you created earlier.
So, I already tried the first choice and it takes me to another window with several recovery tools. One of the tools is System Image Recovery but when I click it, it gives a Warning messagebox that says:
Windows cannot find a system image on this computer. etc.
But when I insert every disk, still the warning messagebox shows up as if all the four recovery DVDs are irrelevant.
So, it seems the first choice doesn't lead me anywhere. So, remains the second choice:
    - Restore your computer using a system image that you created earlier.
Turns out it is exactly the same 'System Image Recovery' from first option mentioned few lines earlier. So, there you have it, checkmate.
    Please guide.
